77m Americans of voting age do not care about your fake moral outrage they went out and chose Trump twice
+
And by this, you show your second metric for your values after the first (success).
The second, by your confession is popularity, or lets say fame.

So if one is successful and famous or popular, one is a great human and thats that.

Interesting.

Just bear in mind that these apply to several horrible men in history.

All these are emotional spazzing out

Was Clinton a horrible person was Obama was Bush

Are you?

Why dont you remove the spec in your eyes first

Look I am tired of this same response to everything. Repeating "emotional" ten times a day gets boring.

Of the millions of Americans that have lived Trump is one of the few who was voted by his people to rule them twice. Obama Bush and Clinton too

So what makes Trump a horrible person? Besides your emotional projections

So you agree that Obama and Clinton are also great people, by your value system which says that all successful people are fantastic people.

Being a racist, a r a p i s t, a pathological liar (probably the most prolific in history), a murderer, a fraudster among a few other things.

Budaatum. Back to the infinite regress. I argued it was impossible. Just came across a video where someone tries to put it differently and i wondered if it could help make the point clearer.

In this very short clip, listen to the second argument made. He says that if you are asked to start from negative infinity and arrive at zero, you would never make it.

Do you see the point? Do you also see why this is actually the same argument I made?

Let me tell you something about myself. I love conversation. Serious, intellectually stimulating conversation. I love worthwhile debates too. It is a tonic to me. If you are observant you will see that I am happy to write epistles if I feel its useful. You guys just dont encourage anyone to bother. Half the time if one sits down to put in the effort for a really thorough post, you suddenly fall silent, which is very telling.

I know who is intellectually lazy and even incapable on this thread.

And oh, much of what you say is truly so comical that it would be stupid of me to address.

Horrible human beings how? All those emotional talks. What makes him horrible. His countrymen love him to vote him twice
+
I said many horrible humans beings are also successful. Do you deny that?

Abi you need examples like Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Hernan Cortez, Talleyrand, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, the Medicis, I can go on forever.

In short I am saying being successful does not say anything about you being a person of values. You could be the devil himself.

Looks like your value system is all about success. Because when I pointed out that DJT is a convicted fraud, you sought solace in the same success of being elected twice. This discloses a disturbing pattern about your values.

If this is your value system, then please you should also celebrate Obama, Clinton, etc since they are successful people as well.

Why did US become 10 times the GDP of the UK

In 1940 the US economy was about 3 times that of the UK

So what happened in the past 80yrs that make it times 10.

Maybe that is the evidence that operating a nanny economy slows your growth. When you dish out welfare out instead of people producing more, they scramble to micro divide the pie
+
Lol, so when you compare the UK to say China, you would also say that the reason China is so far ahead is because the UK runs a nanny economy?

Emotional post alert:

These kids getting blown up in this war you guys are clamoring for will definitely end up with some form of disability and/or drug addiction in a decade from now. It’s not a case of if, it’s a case of when.

It will happen when the doctors can’t keep them on pain medication forever because their spinal injury left them in permanent pain. Or when they’re battling depression, PTSD and chronic debilitating anxiety that keeps them from holing down a job .

I hope you guys will remember that when the left wing of the day asks for social safety nets for them and those who will be stuck caring for them. I hope your logical minds can think that far.

Let it not up to be this emotional woman to tell you the natural consequences of certain actions taken today by the leaders you support.

I don’t even think he truly bought the propaganda

He’s just deeply misogynistic and to such people, a terrible man is better than good woman any day.

Let’s have this election again in 2032 after a nuclear war caused by Trump with a quarter of the world dead, and others suffering from a nuclear fallout, Adam will still choose Trump over a woman.

There are some diseases without cure and misogyny is one of them
+
Misogyny? Thats sad if the case.

On a lighter note, I cannot resist sharing these two artworks and their prices -

A rich person can indulge in their pleasures and still help the less fortunate. Neither of you was in the wrong.

Adam is usually not dvmb but when it came to Trump, a lot of them dumped their common sense.

I think something about supporting a female opposition broke their brains. They couldn’t fathom it.
Therefore a clearly unqualified man was their only choice.

Yet they say they’re logical
+
Oh he argued very well, and I had to admit so.

One thing that is scary about the Trump phenomenon is how otherwise intelligent people appear to suddenly throw away their brains for Trumpism and Trumpist hoaxes. I have seen even people I almost revere in terms of intellect succumb to this and it is just dumbfounding.

If LordAdam16 has seen the error of his ways that is a good thing because in my experience it is rare for a Trumpist to ever retrace their steps. The cult-like hold is as hard and fast as those cults where mass suicides occurred.

This is why I always say away from the emotional rants and feel good virtue signalling, Lets discuss the numbers and the stats

According to Google search. In the US with less welfare a population of 350m, 770k people are homeless = 0.22%
https://endhomelessness.org/state-of-homelessness/

In the UK with a better welfare system, a population of 70m people. there are 382k homeless people = 0.54%
https://england.shelter.org.uk/media/press_release/at_least_382000_people_are_homeless_in_england_today_

In the Canada with a better welfare system, a population of 40m people. there are 230k homeless people = 0.575%
https://homelesshub.ca/collection/homelessness-101/how-many-people-homeless-canada/

I have provided the links for my data so you can factcheck

It shows the US has a lower homeless people per capita than the UK and Canada other developed countries that has better welfarism

Maybe just Maybe welfarism is not the solution to homelessness but actually making the economy more robust, lower taxes and give people means to prosperity and not handout like the US is doing

This is why I kept saying emotional rants do not cut in governance, rather cold hard facts
+
This sort of analysis does not take account the massive differential in the wealth of both countries. You are comparing a 30 Trillion Dollar economy to a 3.5 Trillion Dollar Economy. In short the USA is almost ten times as wealthy in GDP and you didnt factor that.

Who is emotional now?

Secondly I would be really interested in what is classed as homeless in both countries.

Because I suspect that the stats are with reference to people the state assists with housing and not with respect to actual people on the streets NOT assisted by the state.

That’s the thing with maga. They are so insincere and have no ability to be honorable. When breeze exposes their yansh, they slink away and pretend they never said the things that they did. They don’t apologize or seek to make it right.

Same guy rejoicing that Trump won not that long ago, is on a different thread saying that he’s a pdf and lamba master who should be in a nursing home.

So, would it have killed him to come here and admit he was wrong?

I know that he knew the truth from the beginning and was engaging in bad faith roundabout arguments from the get go. That’s why they’re not worth the time or the effort.
+
Interresting!

I remember my only interaction with this fella was years ago when he was arguing with me justifying those who spend absurd millions on random artworks. I think his argument then was that there was financial sense to it as investments. Mine was a bit more on the conscience side of such expenditure in a world with so much poverty and need/ as well as the argument that some of those works were sheer fraud.

It was interesting though.

There is already reasonable welfare in the US currently. There is food stamp, there is Section 8 housing among others

How much more welfare do we need ? And how do we pay for it?

I dont think so when I consider what citizens go through in terms of medical bills and I see that currently a lot of medical aid has been scarpped.
I dont think so when I consider the amount of homeless still on the streets.

I dont think so when I consider the massive gap in protection of the vulnerable between much "poorer" European countries and the USA.

The US taxpayers do not wish to pay more taxes they actually want to pay less.

So where will the money come from
+
Heaven.

There is nothing explanatory in saying printing money will not lead to inflation. There is no one who will take the first class in economics and not disagree. Its as predictable as gravity
+
Is this all you deduced from what I wrote - or wait - did you read what I wrote at all?
Because it does not seem to me that you saw the explanation as to how the position of the dollar in the global fiat money economy reduces the risks of the USA/ the dollar in such matters?

The most intelligent way to assess this is to put a ball park figure to what a reasonable welfare program will cost annually and assess the impact of introducing equivalent money supply into the economy in inflationary terms (considering the global position of the dollar as explained) and then assessing that inflationary risk against the benefits of the welfare programs.

That is what an intellectual will do.

You’re asking maga to reason

Tall ask

Do they have enough common sense to know that crime reduces when hunger at the base level is tackled?

Do they know that healthy happy citizens contribute more to society than overworked drained people?

Do know that in the long run, it’s cheaper to provide preventative measures than chase the aftermath? Be it in healthcare, in schools, infrastructural etc. anything you invest in to prevent deterioration will give you more bang for your buck down the line.

It is more cost effective than rebuilding from scratch or trying to fix a crack that gets to the root. But you’re making too much sense. If you stress him and try to get him to use his brain outside of regurgitating maga nonsense, he might short circuit and blow a fuse.
+
Thank you.
Raumdeuter - take note and please come out of the thinking that welfare programs are simply charity or throwing away money or cheating the hardworking in favor of the lazy. Or worse, as you probably secretly think, white people giving away money to unworthy colored people.
