Have some self respect. Ijaw men get self respect.
Develop your land.
The statement you are agreeing with is incomprehensibly shallow and hypocritical.
Development our land? Sure. How does this require being exclusively shut out from interaction with the world in a complex system in which many cases are nuanced. The person who made that statement probably doesnt know that Steve Jobs was Syrian for example. The world is now too inter-twined for ridiculous and shortsighted exclusivist, classist and racist views like that.

I dont even want to go into history because it would be too nauseating to point out how the people "over there" arrived there in the first place.

Nice compensation but I don't think it will erase that humiliation of denial of entry and disappointment of not being to officiate on the biggest football stage. Good thing he's still young, there'll be more world cups he can officiate in.
It has only begun. This thing will catapult him into refereeing legend. In fact, I dare say it has made him the most famous referee in the world as of today.

Sire, your posts were tilting towards integrationism and you cited MLK jr's work as an example (Rosa Park et al) and he was also an integrationist.Though,he later changed his mind with the "I've come to believe we're integrating into a burning house" statement he made to Harry Belafonte before he was slain a few months later.
I have no clue why you would jump to conclusions but its fine. Good evening.

Hello there.
Your Rosa Parks example is embarassing. That whole situation was created by the civil rights movement and their communist backers to start the "not using buses" by the blacks protest for i believ two hundred to three hundred days.Good...very good but what really came out of that in the end?Blacks in America and elsewhere around the world are now residing in Eldorado?
I standby my first post on this thread. Personally,i believe there is really nothing more pathetic than a black person who is an integrationist. I wish you lot goodluck in your endeavours.
Alright oh. I guess I better stop embarrassing myself. Enjoy.
As for the bold. I have no idea what you are on about.
SportsRe: FIFA President Defends Ticket Prices, Dismisses Referee US Entry Denial by DeepSight(m): 10:10am On Jun 11
Ojagun:
This is an overly emotional post and as a fan of yours on this forum,i find it embarassing.
First of all,i am not involved in this whole western left-wingers vs western right-wingers war being played out online and in the real world. All i know is,they are all one of thesame coin.
The western left-wingers who hate Trump are simply using this referee issue to attack Trump and say his administration hates black people as usual (They all do.Both the leftist and rightist ).They could have easily said he was refused entry because he is moslem but the race issue gets more clicks. This referee is a pawn.Nothing more, nothing less.Like Africans have been in the last five centuries.Remember the Senegalese airport check incident?Thesame thing.
Rather than seek for their "respect",Africans should endeavour to not get dragged into wars by these foreigners when they fight against each other
Surely you know that singular incidents have led to world changing revolutions throughout history.

Does the name Rosa Parks ring a bell and would you have called those who reacted to her refusal to get up from a bus seat overly emotional? Surely you know the influence on the entire civil rights movement. Her action and the "overly emotional" reactions it received led to the civil rights movement and eventually the end of separation in America.

I can cite one thousand other examples but I am on the move.

Rather than be embarrassed for me, dig deep and put on your thinking cap good sir.

This issue just shows that Africa has no leadership. The WHOLE continent should have pulled out of the tournament over this.
It will be long before Africans will be respected.

You don't understand so stop wailing. The people needed to watch the world cup are already residing in America. Besides, have you heard the Europeans and Asians complaining about getting in? Africans should stay home and watch it on Dstv.
This statement alone tells me of your ignorance. I am 100 per cent sure you have never travelled out of this country. Just look at what you say about attendees already residing in America. America is not a football following country AT ALL. And look at what you say about no complaints from Europe and Asia. There have been lots. You are just another Nigerian teenager who worships Trump.

How many people joined Boko Haram through social media? Social media has the least influence on the growth of terrorist groups like Boko Haram jare.

If u talk about advancement in technology and easy access to weapons by terrorist groups as factors , I won't argue with u.

Also, we can talk about state funded terrorism where u have some countries funneling funds to these terror groups who use same to buy weapons in the black market.
You see, just the sheer speed and freedom with which people with such proclivities could even hear of it in the first place is something to dwell on.

for all intents and purposes Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was largely indoctrinated online

in the 90s, 60 minutes did a segment on corruption in nigeria,. the video was banned in nigeria, so the only way you coud see it was if someone in your area had the videotape

but today - it is on youtube and that is that
Its such a huge factor, what you have said cannot be underestimated at all. Its virtually the difference between a candle and a nuclear powered plant.

you are looking at a sect from the 80s as a case

Did we have world wide Islamist terrorism in the 80s?
Did we have social media as a tool of rapid indoctrination?
Did we have broadcast media outside of govt control?

do yo realise how much terror and fear boko haram can spread via social media? in the 80s, the only way they could have spread this is via sharing video tapes , because the govt would definitely not broadcast any of this
Strong point.

internationally backed islamist terrorism was not a problem in the late 1990s. we are seeing how other military governments are failing to tackle the same problem. this is a completely different beast today

no one was pushing for sharia at the time. but thanks to medially savvy terrorists, an Islamic state is looking like an utopian dream to be aspired towards. if anyone had said you would see yoruba muslims bombing a church you would have said impossible.
Totally fair points.

While it is true they are northern Muslims, it is also true there weren't internationally recognized terrorist organizations disturbing peace of the country during their regimes. At least I know neither Abacha nor Babangida's government had any terrorist organization springing up on them.
Even if such happened I tend to believe that their handling of them would have been harsh and radical, northern Muslim or not.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DeepSight(m): 3:18pm On Jun 10
BlueRayDick:
I get the point he is making and I think I agree with some of the sentiments.

When Boko Haram was in its infancy there were accusations and counter accustions amongst some politicians particularly in Borno about one or two people being terrorism sponsors. I think Ali Modu Sheriff was mentioned at some point. And then we have Kabiru Sokoto and Shetimma connection.

Remember Kabiru Sokoto was a Boko Haram member who master minded Christmas day bombing of a Catholic church in Niger state in December 2011. Kabiru Sokoto was arrested early 2012 but later escaped custody. He was later rearrested at Borno state governor's lodge in Abuja while Shetimma was Borno governor.

I strongly believe there's no way a military government in power would allow people like Ali Modu Sheriff and Shetimma to continue to be free men even on mere allegations of their names mentioned in counter accusations of terrorism sponsorship. We all know how military governments can be, they will first lock you up before anything. Even all those hostage negotiations we've been seeing governors and LGA chairmen do in the north, I doubt anything of such will happen under the watch of a military government.

All the nonsense basket mouth talk Gumi has been doing , he would've long been locked up under a military government. I think it was in Burkina Faso or so, that a radical Islamic cleric was recently arrested for his extremist views. When the cleric's supporters heard of his arrest, they decided to protest against the government, they were equally arrested . Last week I saw content creator's video online who claimed the government is planning to conscript those supporters of the cleric into the army and they will be deployed to the frontlines to fight against terrorists so they can appreciate what the military is doing to keep them safe from terrorists( I don't know how true this is tho)
Agree.
Indeed, some military govts will not just lock people up who mess with them, they will execute you by fiat.
With a military govt, it would be one armed cult against another and they will find it harder to tolerate the rival armed cult.

But certainly no one wishes us to go back to military rule. No way.

Not just population. Demographics - too many old folks and not enough young people. Friend of mine recently went to China and said one thing surprised him was old people working all over the place.

Also, the entire China world power thing is based on population. That's why they can make massive amounts of stuff at ridiculous prices and can overwhelm any foe with massive number of people
Anyone who cannot also understand that China has also become a scientific power is leaving in la la land. As for the aging population isue, its common to the wealthy world. Go and see Japan. It will not affect China by dint of sheer numbers.
