nairalanda1: Pls think what you like. It will do nothing to my life. Believing that subsidies are the cause or origin of corruption in Nigeria, and that corruption will cease with the removal of subsidies, is ignorant and stupid. And I have no apologies for saying so. 1 Like |

nairalanda1: You're not annoying and you don't make a mess. I find you extra ordinarily polite. My issue is simple. I am still flabbergasted that anyone believes subsidies are the source of corruption in this country. |
Politics / Re: IMF: Why We Asked Nigeria To Remove Fuel Subsidy by DeepSight(m): 3:21pm On Apr 21 |
nairalanda1: Oh I don't mind disagreement, believe you me. If you knew me better you would find that I even enjoy differing points of view. However that is different from the sort of vacancy of mind which imagines that corruption is a consequence of subsidies. |

wirinet: Don't worry about corruption, according to the servile joker, nairalanda1, if subsidies are removed, corruption will disappear and we will be headed for Eldorado. Too often I have been tempted to give him serious responses, but I mostly refrain seeing that anyone who could be so blind, so slavish, so narrow minded and so thoughtless, so lacking in capacity for analysis of anything - would never see reason. |

Onyedikachi231: 1. I am not Muslim 2. What happened to turn the other cheek and love your enemies 3. Nothing can justify the mass slaughter of an entire population on account of the actions of a few and even if it is something that can be politically explained, it is certainly not the sort of thing to be celebrated by any supposed follower of Christ 4. This revolting person does not even care that Israelis are not followers of Christ. Yet he goes about with his several monikers shouting that all other people who reject Christ are going to hell. This, in his sick view, excludes Israelis because they are God's beloved. This vulgar clown went so far as to say the other day, that after death, God will ask each of us if we stood by Israel and if not, we are doomed to hell. This is the marabout who presumes to preach the gospel daily here. He is beyond revolting and that is why I repeatedly say it: seeing his posts not only make me want to throw up, it makes one lose hope for humanity. 1 Like |

Wainey: You might be among the "youth" but please do not presume me so. Virtually all ex Governors in Nigeria are rogues. Going after one dramatically does not impress me. And I don't know what argument you think I am involved in. There are true fat cats everywhere in Nigeria who the EFCC ignores and has always ignored. It's BS. And no, they are not doing their job properly, not by a mile. If they were, people like Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi, Nyesom Wike, Ibrahim Babangida, Goodluck Jonathan, Muhammadu Buhari, Olusegun Obasanjo, Abduldulsami Abubakar, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and many others would be facing the music or would have faced the music before. In South Africa, a former president went to jail over corruption. Jacob Zuma. It also happens in South Korea. Do you think EFCC can sneeze near a former president in Nigeria. Abeg stop wasting my time. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Wainey: Ol boy I know the functions of the EFCC. I am simply saying they are chasing shadows. If a person should defraud you of ten naira, that also falls within the remit of the EFCC. But if that's what they focus their energies on, they are crap. 2 Likes |

Wainey: Look, I don't care about this. To the extent that it is an offense local police stations can attend to it. When EFCC was established, the idea was to fight corruption in Nigeria. You don't do that by going after those spraying money and teenage Yahoo boys. You do that by facing squarely the big shots in this country both past and present. We all know them. Anything less is BS. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Newyorkitis: 1. There is no denying that there are and there have been some barbaric customs here and there. Not just in Yoruba Land. Look at what is done to little children in Akwa Ibom with the idea that they are witches. 2. But customs are not necessarily religion. 3. Islam, Christianity & Judaism all have, and have practiced barbaric customs. 4. When I say there is nothing wrong with African Traditional Religion, I simply mean that it needs not be demonized as against Western Religion. Furthermore, it can and should also be retained, encouraged in many respects where it is positive and where it serves to accentuate the history and culture of the people. I do not mean that there is nothing negative whatsoever with it really. All religions have negatives and positives. As for me, I am entirely irreligious. 1 Like 1 Share |

God1000: It just shows you what a powerful tool religion is in brainwashing human beings. Someone once said that with or without religion, good people will do good things and evil people will do evil things - but for a good person to do evil things - that takes religion. 1 Like 1 Share |
