Well as for me I think the labor party didn't have a candidate in Osun until Peter Obi came and after gaining much attention Yusuf lasun the labour party candidate came out, so he was unknown. Let me make something clear to you, Labour Party popularity is mostly presidential and centered around Obi, and this is because APC decided to play pranks with Nigerians by nominating a sickly old man like Tinubu as their Party's flag bearer. If another more credible candidate had emerged from APC, people wouldn't have been shouting Obi and LP as today. In essence, If Tinubu hadn't emerged, Obi's popularity, and consequently Labour Party's, wouldn't have gotten this much acclaim. This is a warped analysis, a look at the SDP party performances, for instance, in both Ekiti and Osun States should tell you that people are not voting for political parties but the candidates. SDP came second in Ekiti state with 200k votes or so because of their flag bearer Segun Oni, but the same party could not even muster up to 1k votes in Osun.

Let me tell you this, most of PDP supporters in Osun will vote Peter Obi in the presidential election. Labour Party candidate in Osun, Lasun, came to the campaign rather too late, I only got to know about him just about a week ago, how can such person win a governorship election in Osun against for instance the Adeleke family that has been in the forefront of political campaign for decades?

I don't know if you are a man or a woman and I don't know why this post was moved to the front page. Though it seems like an indirect campaign for PDP, there are things you need to know about this election and the forth coming ones.

Elections this period will be more of popularity of candidate than party. Using Osun as a case study, Adeleke is more popular among the people than any other candidate including the incumbent governor.

If Adeleke had competed in any other party, I bet he would still have won. The candidate of the Labour Party was unpopular even among the people of Osun state so I never expected him to win and no magic would help him due to the transperency of the election.

Now concerning the Presidential Elections, structure or no structure, Peter Obi is the most popular candidate right now among the people. His only contender is Atiku. Tinubu is out of the race. All things being equal, I see Obi carrying the day.

Well I know you already know that. You all are scared of Peter Obi's followership, else you would have written about Tinubu. But you already know that Tinubu with all the STRUCTURES is not a threat

Secondly, Davido was a very formidable force that helped his uncle cruise to victory. If you were observant, you would notice that Davido aid low for the past 2 months because he was busy campaigning for his uncle.

He made good use of his influence as a popular entertainer to campaign for Adeleke and it paid off! That was why he was conspicuously absent from the event hosted by the European Union in Abuja where major artistes were invited to perform at the Old Parade Ground where youths were called upon to register for their PVC.

I was there in attendance and listened to what those artistes said before their individual performance...if you are wise, you would know they were urging the youths who came in their thousands to vote for LP and do away with all those "old men" and "expired politicians" who want to ruin Nigeria!

Stop comparing the Osun state elections to the upcoming presidential elections because people are tired of both APC and PDP still doesn't stand a chance.

That is because, they know and we know Peter Obi is a big threat to their lord Tinubu. Who among the lots is not scared to death on the massive support Obi is getting. I have always believed in Atiku before moving to Obi due to his age and pedigree. One thing I understood is that most LP fans at the presidential level are fans of PDP at governorship level. The fact the PDP wins at governorship doesn't meant they can win president. Definitely comes 2023 the race is between LP and PDP. I can hear from Kano or the kanawa that "Tinubu ba hausa ba, Shettima ba hausa ba" meaning Tinubu is not hausa and shettima is not hausa.
