so it doesn't apply to only changing DLI?

IRCC website only had information about if you change DLI and not if you change program so I was confused

Frankielilbaby:
No if he does he will have to submit again he just needs to wait another year he can find something beneficial for the time. Maybe learn coding if he is going into IT.

Edit: Finally, I started the next page. grin grin grin cool

Is it possible to change course in the same DLI after PPR but before going to Canada

My brother just got approved but it's too late to join the semester and the course doesn’t have a January start date

I did mine at Synlab

Orange1234:
Please, to those who did their Covid test in Lagos this year, where did you do it? Biobank's (the only testing centre listed on https://nitp.ncdc.gov.ng/onboarding/lab-directory) phone number isn't going through. I find it hard to believe that it's only one testing site acceptable for Lagos.

I came into edmonton last week (study permit) and my stopover between toronto and edmonton was 2 hrs 15 minutes. It took me less than 30 minutes to go through immigration (there was no line though so I didn't have to queue at any point)

RTreasure:
Hello, please how many hours wait did you have between toronto to edmonton? I’m seeing a flight with waiting time of 2hr 30mins in toronto to calgary and i’m not too sure if 2hrs will be enough time to finish the immigration check and still make it in time for the next flight.

Landing Story
So I booked my flight for the 18th of January with Ethiopian Airline

I had my covid test with synalb on the 15th of January (72 hrs before my flight), got the result the next day at night

Nigerian Airport

I got to the airport 4 hours before my flight and I joined the queue to check in, they asked for my passport, ticket, enrollment verification letter, covid test and a photocopy of my passport data page(I had to print this at the airport because I didn't have it). It took them almost 30 minutes to confirm my enrollment verification because for some reason, the person at the counter wasn't convinced. After document verification, my passport was scanned then i proceeded to the counter where they weighed my bags (24kg and 25kg but they let me go). They didn't open my bag at any point or ask me what I was carrying.

After checkin, they gave me 3 boarding passes for all my connecting flights. I moved on to board. There were two or three other security checks (my passport was stamped at one of these points). I passed through all the checks and then waited to board my flight. My first flight was from Lagos to Ethiopia

Ethiopian Airport
After landing at ethiopia, I went though the usual security checks, just showing my boarding pass and my passport. However, at the final check, I was stopped. They told me that my covid test had expired so I couldn't move on. I explained to them that on Canada's website, what was stated is that the test should be within 72 hours of boarding my first flight, which it was. They told me to stand aside while they confirm. After about 15 to 20 minutes, they came back and told me that I was good to go.

Toronto Airport
I went through immigration. At the first step, they asked for my covid test, arrivecan and declaration card (they'll give you this on the plane. They also gave me a covid form on the plane, but no one asked me for this.
At the second point, I was asked if I was here to study, I said yes and they asked me for all my documents (they didn't specify which ones). I gave them my letter of introduction, proof of enrollment, admission letter, tuition receipt. I had proof of funds but I didn't show it and I wasn't asked for it. I waited a few minutes and my study permit was issued.

I then went to baggage claim, picked up my two boxes and then went to board my next flight. On the way, I dropped my two boxes at the checkin for my next flight to edmonton.

The airports are big so please wear comfortable shoes

I landed in edmonton and went straight to my school where I had arranged for isolation accomodation. I am now currently in day 3 of isolation

Yes I did. I was able to reach them today, they said they'll process it tomorrow and send it on Friday

Dee4Doyinsola:
Did you send the details of the payment and courier form to the specified email? If you did, kindly find a way to reach them.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by DefyTheOdds: 3:46pm On Dec 02, 2020
It's Lagos VFS and it has been 30 days already for me. I submitted it on the 2nd, I got the mail saying it was ready for collection on the 23rd(9 days ago) which is when I made the payment for it. I'm still waiting sha

Dee4Doyinsola:
Hello I hope it's not Lagos VFS, If it is, you might need to exercise a little more patience. I hope your timeline will not take as long as mine (today makes it day 27 for me). And as for trying their number, I will advise you to keep trying till you get them. also, send mails to lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca imploring them to expedite action.

I paid for the return of my passport since the 23rd of November. No feedback since then. I tried to reach them using the number on their website but couldn't. I was finally able to reach them just now using the number you provided. They confirmed that they've gotten my email and details and said that they will forward it for processing and I should expect the passport on Friday

(it has been 9 days since I paid for them to return it)

rebecausoro:
Those who have paid and are waiting for VFS to return their passports, any update? The silence is deafening. 3 days to scheduled flight. Exactly one month since I submitted my passport.

I called them earlier and they didn't give anything useful apart from their "we are working on it" rubbish.

FYI: I discovered another number to reach VFS Lagos- 08150188800

Good morning house,

Please help

Does anyone know the latest date I can travel and still be eligible for PGWP

I started my program online in September. It is a 2 yr program(4 semesters) but I will most likely finish it in 3 semesters. I just want to know how soon I have to travel

PS: I'm trying to avoid travelling in the middle of winter (next semester is also online)
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by DefyTheOdds:
The 6 terms is just a payment plan (because they have 3 terms in 1 year). you can pay it in 3, 6 or 9 terms but you will still pay the $9,666 fee. Cheers

Rootiab:
ok
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by DefyTheOdds: 7:26am On Nov 28, 2020
Hello Rootiab,

The $2,550 is a special fee for the program, in addition to the actual tuition fee which is $9,666 ($1,611 per term, for six terms). This is already $12,216 without even adding non-instructional fees which from what I see is around $3,000. I suggest you carry out more research on fees for your program. cheers

PS: All this information was gotten directly from the tuition breakdown on the school's website

Rootiab:
if I wasnt sure. I wont bring it up here

Hello,

Please what is the process for getting my passport back through the VAC in-house courier service
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by DefyTheOdds: 10:11am On Nov 06, 2020
Hello,

Your passport is already with them so there is no need for a passport request. They will inform you when your passport is ready to be collected.

Pseermuhel:
Hi everyone,

Please I need our advice. I got my Biometric Verification Letter from Nairobi on Tuesday. After which I've not received any reply on my PPR.

I submitted a paper application with my international passport. I want to know if it takes time for paper applications to get reply because I've seen several online applications get their PPR a day after BVL.

Thank you.

Hello

I gave consent to information sharing (first part of the form)

I gave consent to giving biometrics (last part of the form)

I didn’t consent to using agents or receiving help from VFS staff (last part of the form)

Cheers
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by DefyTheOdds: 6:43pm On Oct 28, 2020
Hello heidepaper, Please what sections of the VFS consent form did you fill?

heidepaper:
Hello,

What I did was to send my passport and other documents vi DHL to VFS Canada Abuja. I sent it with a two way courier. A two way courier means I paid for them to take it to VFS and also to bring it back to me when the passport has been stamped.

These are the documents I included in mine:

International passport

Letter form IRCC asking me to submit my passport

Signed consent form (if you need the form, send me a private message and ask for it)

Original receipt I got during biometrics from VFS with the 2 colored photocopy of my passport that was attached to it

2 passport photographs

Also note that when VFS finally replied my email, they said these are the required documents (please see picture below) but I had already submitted mine by then.

The cost of the DHL was 3,300 Naira for everything.

Cheers
