BusinessRe: How Do I Set Up A Commercial Farming by dejia(m): 11:24am On Aug 20, 2011
I think the essence of this platform is to share ideas, i will recommend pple shd share there ideas and not put there phone numbers and e.mail addy for them to be contacted.

@Abbeylife, am also looking into commercial farming in Kwara, am starting up with just 1 acre of land for test farming and then grow from there

am looking at starting with a piggery, because from my analysis its very profitable, a pig can give birth twice a year and can give u about 15 per birth, and u can sell a pig of 7 months with about 80kilos for as much as 20k.

Am also looking at planting Red Pepper, and tomato, i got an hybrid seed from SA, which can grow and give fruits almost all year round if the temperature is well controlled.

Am still doing alot of reading and research, but i think i will start this those things, and then grow it from there.

i personally feel too many pple are into poultry, and i have seen pple with bad experience in poultry; fishery, its seems every retired civil servant has a fishery, i will rather focus on something that alot of pple havent done yet and target the niche market.

guys, with experience in farming pls. share ideas ,let us all go back to where we started from, lets go back to farming,

PropertiesRe: Is Build To Rent A Good Investment? by dejia(m): 5:23pm On Jun 15, 2011
lovely thread.

I think especially for those abroad, looking at moving to Nigeria in 3-8years or in the future, building and renting out is the safest business u can do in Nigeria , that u are sure, of your money, if u try to import cars or any other thing, u stand a big risk.

I will build and rent out in cities like abuja that has lots of potentials, presently in apo Mechanic village, u can get about 100sqm land for about 1M, build a shop and a flat ontop of it, in total u will spend about 6M; U will get rental of about 1M yearly ( the shop is about 600k the 2bedroom will go for 400k) and u sure that ur rental will definately go up  by at least 15% after 2years.

I see building to rent as a way of saving money instead of making a fixed deposit in the bank

PoliticsRe: Jarus & Kwara Politics by dejia(m): 12:31am On Oct 16, 2010
Jarus,

Lovely write up, it really got me thinking.

I am a Kwaran and i believe change is coming , if all the opposition are able to come together and educated people like me and you go out to vote , things will be diff.

Also, i disagree that if we have a free and fair election , Saraki will win, can u remember the 2003 election? it was obvious that Lawal won, but cos he was in ANPP, and Saraki decamped to PDP.
i believe if Gbemi wins primaries in PDP, that will further split PDP and split Kwara Central which might give chance to Kwara South of North " if they all agree to have come together". I see A.C.N winning atleast the local govt in the South and "maybe" the gubernatorial if its free and fair.
PoliticsRe: Are There No Strong People In Kwara State? by dejia(m): 3:09am On Sep 03, 2010
HI All,

I am a Kwaran, I think the next election is going to be difference, for long lots of pple have been scared to Saraki

cos of what has happened to the likes of Gov Lawal, Adisa etc who tried to fight him.

Arch.Lola Ashiru has decided to fight this battle, and things are looking positive; his coming under the platform of A.C

and stands a good chance
You can check his fan page on facebook search ( Lola Ashiru for Kwara Revolution). read thru pple comments, u will discover that revolution its on its way

Gbemi, will never be gov, kwarans will stand against it this time around.

BusinessRe: Event Planning And Hall For Wedding And Parties ! by dejia(m): 11:30pm On Jul 03, 2010
Hi,

I also thot of setting something like that up in ilorin, cos when i looked at it

a very good hall in ilorin goes for 250k and most saturdays its fully booked, i saw down did the analysis

its capital intensive, so i looked into get an abandoned factory/hall/warehouse , close to city centre to do a long term lease ( you can consider that as well).
the major reason why i have slowed down was because i really dont have trustworthy hands in 9ja to manage it, and am not looking into relocating till 2012.
i can help u with details of where to get nice chairs tables, lovely concepts etc, as well.

its a very good business, but management is key, I will reccommend you need to be there, nobody will understand your concept except you at the initial stage.

another thing u can include is kids party centre by the side, u know most of the amusement parks have closed down, pple dont have places to take there kids to on weekends, if u have something small , where kids can come, or rent to have parties ( u knw lots of pple stay in small houses( flats) and want to have parties for there kids, that too will make u cool bucks.
If u already have land, i will recommend u dont build a permanent structure, go for the canopy, there is this place in lagos called 10 degrees its a very nice event centre, go check it out.

holla for more info if needed

Tickets between Nigeria and argentina are sold out, but i know u can buy Nigeria vs Korea in Durban for about $200 in FNB SA; i also heard its been sold in Afribank, in Nigeria.

Guys, SA will be safe, isnt as bad as d media portrait it. Am sure, it will be the best world cup ever.

Am sure u can still get hotels and Guesthouses from $75 . and u can also get individuals renting out there houses

Wont mind to hook up with guys coming from Nigeria as well, especially those who going to stay in Gauteng.( Jo burg and Pretoria)

BusinessRe: Is Haulage Business Viable In Nigeria? by dejia(m): 11:16pm On May 31, 2009
@ SubMacGun,

I was like you 3months ago; am based outside the country and i heard about the haulage business in Nigeria; pple told me the juicy side; from there analysis i was expected to make about 700k on the tanker ( 33,000 litres) and 750k on the trailer.

Well i bought into it and now i think i also have experience; i bought something similar to what u have DAF 95; i think Iveco is better for tankers

I think the biggiest challenge u will have is the driver; what i will strongly recommend is that u get a tracker into ur trailer / tanker which ever u decide; i will also recommend you look for som1 who is into comodities who can manage it the trailer; i will strongly advice u dont allow ur trailer to go far; Mine only does within lagos; Within lagos you can make between 35k-60k depending on what its loaded with ( sugar, flour, salt etc). after expenses you might have btwn 25k-40k in ur pocket. 4 trips per week is the most realistic; pple might promise u daily jobs, pls forget it, i will recommend u dont expect more than 400k a month on the trailer; i will not advice u let u trailer travel farther than ibadan

If i were you with my experience now, i think i will buy the small trailer ( that carries on 300bags) with that u can make close to 300k a month;and its lots cheaper or u go for the tanker and make sure u insure the tanker; give it to an Oando agent to register it under his company; with that u will make 550k a month and your tanker will last about 7years; with trailers in Nigeria the life span is about 3-4years
anybody who promises u anything more than that, i will suggest u shd be very careful.

If u need more info e.mail me: chatwithdeejay@yahoo.com
