There was heavy presence of security operatives at Baptist Girls High School in Osogbo where the secretariat of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) was located ahead of the joint prayer session organised by the body in the state. The crisis trailing the court judgment, which permits the use of hijab by Muslim female students in Osun State public schools, might not end soon. Osun State chapter of CAN has said it would not rescind its directive to its pupils to be wearing choir robes and church garments to schools, if the judgment is implemented. Pastor Moses Ogundeji, Vice Chairman of CAN in the state, stated this while addressing journalists at a prayer session held at the Dominion Hall of Osun Baptist Conference, Gbodofon, Osogbo, the state capital. The prayer which was organised by Reverend Dr. Elisha Ogundiya, the state CAN chairman, and presided over by his vice, Pastor Moses Adedeji Ogundeji, said that the prayer is meant to reject court ruling on hijab and other islamisation plot in the state. He added that the prayer is also meant to seek peace from God and to nullify anti-kingdom laws and dealings with satanic forces that are tormenting the state for the past few weeks. The Christian leader who also called for the return of mission schools to the original owners said, “We don’t want crisis in Osun because of hijab issue. Already, the state is being oppressed by the demonic spirit and evils as well as the country at large.” He contended that inasmuch as we are trying to resolve the crisis with prayer, if Government should expel any Christian pupil or student, it means all the students in public schools would be sent packing. Pastor Ogundeji, however, noted that the prayer would ensure that the Osun State is delivered from the power of satanic forces and oppressors, adding that all powers that set to destroy Osun State would be destroyed by God. “The country has no rest from the hands of Boko Haram, Niger Delta Avengers and Bororo herdsmen. Therefore let there be peace in Osun and let the state be free from the shackles of evil and oppression,” he said. However, the CAN vice chairman described the presence of security personnel around the prayer venue as an embarrassment. Pastor Ogundeji said although, the judgment would be appealed, Christian pupils would continue to wear church clothes to their various schools, not minding the state governor’s warning to expel them. Governor Rauf Aregbesola had on Wednesday warned that any student found wearing unauthorised cloth to school would be sanctioned, advising CAN to pursue its cause legally. Elsewhere in the state, it took the intervention of the Oluwo Iwo, Oba Abdul Rasheed Akanbi to avert crisis when CAN mobilised its members to Baptist High School, Adeeke Iwo, to ensure Christian pupils in garments and robes were not denied entrance, by security operatives who besieged the school. cloudgoddess:Firstly you don't have to begin by telling me that Abiogenenis and evolution are two different things that wasn't the question i asked you. I'm also a science student and i make research a lot too. I already knew about all the stuffs you wrote up there. I intentionally asked that question because the last time I checked, that question has not been answered by scientists. And for the theory of evolution that you so much believe in, have you read the book on "darwin's doubt"? If No try to get it and read it. There are many molecular biologists, physicists and astronomers who have come to the realization that God truly exists. And this are even the practicing ones not ordinary Atheists like you that just read theories and use your logical reasoning to question the deep mysteries in life. |
sirthisthickkal:Don't mind them. They think we can't reason out of the box, now i have decided to tackle them with science and logical reasoning. I have read of many seasoned astronomers, molecular biologists, physicists etc that have come to the realization that God truly exists. |
@ donnffd and other atheist, answer this question below.. I know you believe that life originated by chance, meaning the occurrence of random events bringing non living matter together to form life? If it's as easy as this then why as any scientist not been able to recreate this in the lab? Why is it that it's only life that begets life? Even in cloning, a living cell is required. *I doubt if anyone of you will be able to give a reasonable answer to that question.* |
BeastAmbition:True talk, he really needs to grow up. |
donnffd:I was making a generalization, and you singled out "God" there are many things that your human senses cannot detect but they exist. For example radio waves. there are thousands inshort millions of radio waves around us, but tell me can any of your sense organs perceive it? NO. Although we have devices to detect them. But has anyone seen how it looks? We can only describe it in terms of its amplitude, frequency, wavelength e.t.c. Now imagine someone arguing blindly that since his/her sense organs cannot perceive the existence of radio wave that it doesn't exist even though it's clearly evident that it's what his/her phone is communicating with. |
donnffd:Being unable to proof the existence of something doesn't mean such a thing doesn't exist. It's dependent on our present level of scientific methods and technology. And besides, there are so many mysteries in the world and universe at large that scientists will not be able to unravel everything till the end of time. As long as the word "infinity" exits there will still be something unknown. |
donnffd:Considering the last question u asked about how i knew God is not bound by space and time. Now I assume you must be a physics student., what can you tell me about "timelessness" in physics? |
donnffd:It's a logical explanation from Bible scholars who are also seasoned physicist. I don't want to quote Bible verses since most of u Atheists are doubting the credibility of its contents. And I also want to show you that it's not all Christians that can't or won't reason out of the box as u have tagged us. |
donnffd:Bro, it's the illusion of Time that is causing all this argument. i hope you know there are certain drugs that can alter someone's sense of time? |
donnffd:Answering that question will lead to an infinite regression of causes. And i feel this is where most Atheist miss it. God is not bound by the dimensions of space and time, God is outside of time meaning he has been existing before time began. He created time so as to achieve cause and effect so that there will be consequences for every action taken. It's only something that is bound by time that can be created (meaning having a beginning) So God doesn't need to be created. when we talk about eternity (in religion) it simply means timelessness and that is in heaven, the abode of God. As humans we will find it extremely hard to comprehend since we are operating in a system governed by space and time. |
I like the second guy's comment. But frankly speaking when will guys stop over hyping girls just to get in between their legs? There is much more to Life than the useless less than 1min pleasure a woman has to offer. It really disgusts me when I see the silly things some guys do this days just to please a lady. Last week it was the case of a guy that drank sniper, i could also remember a scenario when I was still in the University i saw a shameless guy kneeling down to beg his girlfriend @ the school bus stop with so much crowd. He created a scene that day and i can never forget that incident. Now who knows what would have happened to their relationship now, I'm very sure they must have broken up. I think it's time for guys to brace up and face the realities of life. |
I'm surprised at the number of guys falling for this ridiculous deceit coming from a guy with a female moniker who is probably bored and decides to open this thread and make fun of unsuspecting and gullible guys. Your moniker has already exposed you to be fake. Don't know why guys are still replying HIM. This is an insult on our collective intelligence. |
Iluvsweetsex:No Nigerian or African woman will ever make this type of confession. So therefore I put it to you that you are a guy hiding behind a female moniker. You have been exposed! |
queencalipso:Well I'm not surprised, it's only natural for you to defend your fellow woman. Even if she commits more grievous offenses you will still defend her. I don't expect any guy on this thread to take your comments serious anyway. |
Berlyn:A useless thread attracts useless comments. What type of comments were you expecting before? That people should congratulate or hail you for your supposed break up? Abeg swerve joor. |
Berlyn:A useless thread attracts useless comments. Abeg swerve joor |
Vickyydera:I don't think so, initially i suspected circumsion but from her reply it clearly shows its a medical problem. I guess she may need a sex therapist like /xynerise/ has suggested. And i don't think sex therapists are common in Nigeria (if they even exist at all). Maybe she should see a doctor. |
safarigirl:Your case is not strange and you are not the only one. It is most likely that you were circumcised (W.H.O will rather call it genital mutilation) while young. I know you may not admit this fact due to the stigma attached to it. But it's no longer news that it's widely practiced in Africa. About 70% of Nigerian ladies are circumcised. It's carried out to reduce or kill the libido of a woman completely so that she won't be wayward thus keep her virginity for her husband. But it has serious health implications for the woman later in life. I don't want to go into details because i don't expect anyone to still be ignorant on this topic. |
xynerise:Bro, if she is sincere, then she must have been grossly circumcised while young (genitaly mutilated) hence she can never like or enjoy sex. She is not the only one, majority of Nigerian girls have suffered from this act about 70% or so. Those type of women are nothing but a log of wood in the bedroom. |
flokii:Oga wetin be ur own na? D person wey my comment dey address sef no talk. |
KingCheezyPuff:Hey, look here woman, you have no idea about how the male system is wired. Women should stop dressing indecently. It's a distraction to the opposite sex. |
Youths of nowadays with relationship fuss. Why spam NL with ur relationship issues ? |
HardMirror:I really don't believe that reincarnation BS. Despite historical accounts. Death is not a joke and it's not what anybody will envisage in another life. The process of dying is characterized with extreme pain and frustration, the highest the body can ever take/tolerate. It's best experienced once Personally I don't think anybody will be happy with the knowledge of being born into this world again and start this whole process all over again. It just doesn't make sense to me. I strongly have this conviction that something still lies ahead. i have read many NDE stories from patients and they were convinced about an afterlife. They described it as very real, more than anything they have ever experienced. |
Died because of a woman? And a girlfriend for that matter! That's simply ridiculous. |
This ain't creative at all, it's bizarre ! |
This ain't creative at all, it's bizarre ! |
End time thread. And the fact that it's even created by a woman makes it more flabagasting |
A University of Benin student has been denied graduation for three years despite meeting all academic requirements, and his lecturers and examination officials say they have been too busy to compile his records. Temidayo Awoyemi, 26, had eagerly hoped to fulfill his dreams after graduation from the school’s department of chemistry. He now has spent three years now after completing his studies, without graduation. Officials in his department and faculty say they have had no time to process his records for the last two years. The faculty checker, Professor Anthony Imiavan, in charge of scrutinizing students’ records, confirmed to Premium Times that the student had no case to keep him from graduating. A spokesperson for the school told this newspaper the case was “strange”, and assured it would be resolved quickly. Despite that assurance, the school has yet to act on the matter more than a month after. Temidayo’s problem began in his final year when his department said his West African Senior Secondary School Certificate was not in its records. At least five other students in his class had the same problem. After losing the 2012/13 school session to a six-month strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities, Temidayo hoped he would be quickly let go the next session once he provided a copy of the missing certificate. He submitted the certificate to the chemistry department and began to wait for clearance since 2013/2014 session. Two years after, he is still waiting for the school to process his result for graduation. The process of clearing him requires the approval of his course adviser, Wayne Omagamre, faculty checker, Professor Anthony Imiavan; the Head of Department, Professor James Okuo; and Dean, Professor Sunday Omosigho.
