Just double checked with my account officer at Stanbic. Both 91 and 364 day tenors were successfully but NOT 182 day tenor according to her. Are you sure your application is 364 or 182 day tenor?

I think Stanbic lost their 364days bid.
Are you sure? My contact at Stanbic has just confirmed that the bank's bid for 364 day tenor was successful at the auction yesterday, at 13.1%. Maybe the lost bid is for someone who decided to bid for herself/himself. And the person must be a very big Madam or Bobo o, since the person needs more than 50M for individual bidding.

No mail nothing nothing and I needed this treasure bills or can you recommend any bank that won't stress my life like GTB is doing me pass 3 treasure bills biding night help
I hope your GT bank account officer is not frustrating your efforts on purpose. From personal experience I will recommend Stanbic and from other forum members experiences First bank will also be a bank to consider. You may also want to explore the secondary market options. The rates have been better lately and you avoid risk of unsuccessful bids. The only downside is that you are restricted by the available number of days which may not be perfect for your likening.

Nnamz:
Thanks for your response. So when would a customer pick their own rate? On Zenith Bank Treasury bills form you can either go with the bank bid rate, or the customer bid rate, and enter your preferred rate under this customer bid rate.
And if the rate you choose is more than CBN stop rate, then your bid will not be successful. Also you can only choose your bidding rate if you are buying Treasury bills of more than 50 million in the primary market
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by dejiotus: 10:24pm On Jun 12, 2018
Nnamz:
Please how does it work with secondary market rates? Like do you tell your bank you have 250,000 naira and you would like the rate of 15%? Or do you just tell them that you have 250,000 Naira and they should find a treasury bill under 250,000 Naira that is selling for 15%? I giuess my question is: do you pick the rate as well as the amount? Or do you just pick a rate and let the amount be decided by whoever is giving up their bond early.

Thanks
No. Customers do not dictate the rate in the secondary market. The bank will tell you the available rates and tenors, and you will pick what you desire (ie the rates and for how many days (tenor)). You can buy any amount you want as long as the amount is available and it is more than the minimum amount allowed by the bank in the secondary market. For example the minimum amount you can buy in the secondary market with Stanbic is 500K.

Good Evening ladies and gentlemen in this thread, please i would like to know the date for the next auction. Also, is ot possible for me to apply without visiting the bank, If yes, how do i go about it. I intend using First bank.Thank you.
Next week Wednesday 13 June 2018 if I am not mistaken.
Yes. It is possible to apply without visiting the bank. Contact the bank by email to request for the Treasury bill application form (or write a letter requesting purchase of Treasury bills) stating the amount and your preferred tenor.

good day! have you ever used diamond bank to process tbillz and would you rate it okay.
No. I don't have accounts with Diamond bank, hence unable to say how good or bad the bank is with Treasury bills. But based on comments from members on this forum, the bank is NOT one of the banks rated high for Treasury bills transactions. I hope my response is able to answer your question.

please who knows when the next auction for TB at first bank would hold?
If you are asking for next primary auction for all banks (including first bank) with CBN, then the date is 30 May 2018.
But if you are requesting specifically for rates within First bank, then it will be at the secondary market, and can be anytime depending on availability. Ideally you will need to contact First bank on a daily basis until you get your preferred rate and tenor. Attached is the second quarter TB Calendar for 2018.

TB Secondary rates today at Stanbic bank. 86days 12.2%; 212 days 11.8% and 191 days 12%. Much better than the stop rates two weeks ago at the last primary auction. Maybe the rates will be better tomorrow.

Bad news for myself and all other guys that requested TB purchase via Stanbic. Just heard from my contact with the bank, that the bank's bids for all the three available tenors failed. Back to the drawing table to start mapping out new strategies. Just wondering if there are any other options to explore apart from the secondary market?
Stanbic secondary market rates for today are equally depressing

168 days at 9.85% and 112 days at 10%

TONY56:
Please don't mind the officer. It's actually in their form that you may dictate your own rate and it's a ploy to prevent you from buying Treasury Bills and keep your money in their Savings or Fixed deposit as they will come to tell you after the bidding that your bid was rejected because it was less than N50m.

He is probably your account officer or in collusion with him to avoid his deposit target from being depleted.

At any rate you may use yours as a test case and bid 11.8% for 364days tenor;
11.5% for 182daya tenor &
10.8% for 91days tenor.

But be sure to get back to us after the results of your bids.
Many thanks Tony56 for the advice. I will surely revert back to the house afterwards. Very much appreciated
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by dejiotus:
Good morning to all the gurus in the house. I will be very grateful if anyone that bank with Stanbic bank (and into Treasury bills), can confirm if customers are allowed to state their preferred bidding rates in the primary market, for an amount that is less than 50M naira. One of the account officers in Stanbic apparently said the bank allows their customers to state their bidding rates regardless of the amount. If that is truly the case, can members please advice on rates to bid; for the 91, 182 and 364 days tenors next week. Many thanks.

Kindly assist

I got treasury bills worth 100, 000 naira from UBA this afternoon @9. 5% rate.

i got debitted about 97, 321 naira that is a profit of only about 2, 700. i was expecting about 9, 500 profit.

please help me with how the interest is calculated...
Your calculation of N9500 would have been right if the tenor is for 364 days. This is very unlikely since you are buying from the secondary market. Your interest of N2700 is most likely for about 103 day tenor from my calculation. You also need to make a small allowance for the little bank charges

Please anyone with info on Stanbic secondary market rate?
Stanbic secondary market rates for today
85 days is 9.2
148days is 10
232 days is 10.55.

Tony56 is spot on. The banks are taking advantage of their customers because of the prevailing bearish TB market. Despite the historical recent low rates last week in the primary market, the rates are still better than what the banks are offering now.

Good afternoon to all the gurus and members in the house. Below are the rates and tenors available at Stanbic bank secondary market. My TB that matured yesterday was reinvested same day at 13.5% for 196 days. Just received the alert. Personally I will not advise someone to go for the primary market unless you want to lock in your funds for 364 days, or more longer tenor. Apart from the risk of lower rate, the bank may also not be successful with their bidding rates.

The applicable rate are (Stannic ibtc)
42days at 13.65%
154days at 13.7%
196days at 13.5%

How did you get the rates. Which branch do you use? At the branch close to me, it is a big production to get secondary rates... Mail would be sent out etc etc
You can get the rate from any Stanbic branch. It is just a matter of asking your account officer to contact the main Stanbic office (global market) that is in charge of Treasury bills secondary market, and you will be provided with all the tenors and rates that are available. Of course you need a very proactive account officer. You also need to be quick in accepting the offer, when you get an offer you like. There are other customers all over the country and outside who are similarly interested.

I got 16.55% for 192 days from Stanbic on Monday- secondary market. The rate beats all the tenors available recently in the primary market. There is also no need to wait for another 7+ days leaving the funds in a savings account earning pathetic interest of less than 3%.

Hi Hassanabioduna,
Many thanks for your advice. Just seen your update. I am actually very keen to have a rough estimate about the potential cost of doing the survey. A figure of 750K has been mentioned, but any legit advice on how to bring the cost down will be very helpful. Happy Sunday to all our guests in the house. Many thanks.

Good morning and happy independence day to all the gurus in the house.
I will be very grateful if gurus in the house can introduce me to a god fearing registered surveyor, and advise me about the current survey cost of a land with semi detached house situated at Magodo Shangisha (phase 2). The land size is about 336 square meters(half of the original plot).

The original property owner had a C of O, and the total land size was 671 square meters; on which he built 2 wings of 5 bedrooms duplex, separated in the middle by a common dividing wall (semi detached). The 2 wings were purchased by 2 separate owners. I was advised that the two new owners of each wing are required to survey their wings individually, and submit same at the land registry, before perfection can commence. Many thanks

The new scale of fee for survey services in Ogun and Lagos State will be in effect on April 1 2017.
My advice is that you take advantage of the current scale of fee now because it will be much cheaper than the new scale of fees. You can inform your friends, family and clients. A stitch in time saves nine.

Thanks bro, but I thought one can buy from the secondary market anytime regardless the auction date, this is because I am trying to buy from the secondary market. Pls educate me in this, I am a newbie in thus and it will be my first time of investing..
Yes, you can buy anytime in the secondary market; BUT that is if, it is available. You cannot buy in the secondary market if no one is willing to sell. But you stand a better chance, and more likely to get in the primary market, as long as the bank you submitted your application to, is successful at the CBN auction.

Good evening house, I was at GTB today to inquire about their rate, they told me 13.0% for 91 days and 16.5% for 182 days, while Stanbic said 17.3% for 182 days, both are for secondary market.. I just opened an account with Stanbic today but they said till June 28th before they sell Tbills again and that I can't buy immediately.. I don't understand all this o..

Please be aware there is another auction next week. Endeavour to submit your instruction asap, preferably on Monday; 19 June. There is no auction on 28 June, but there's one on 21 June. I will upload the Treasury bills timetable again for this quarter. Good luck with your application

Please when is the next auction?
Tomorrow 3 May 2017, and you need to instruct your bank today as soon as possible. It may be even too late for some banks like First bank, who usually insist customers should send in their requests much sooner.
Accounts will be debited usually on the following day 4 May 2017. Attached is the time table for your perusal.
