Thank you gentleone. I personally called NTA yesterday and told them to stop airing false news because Yinka Craig was still discussing about Kishi when AIT aired the news of their discovery of the actual site. They were practically begging the rescue teams and security operatives to move to the actual site since all efforts were concentrated on the wrong site.

About the human parts, i watched the clips and AIT stated that it was an exclusive video with clips that might be offensive so what is wrong in giving details of an event where the right information is not available. Moreover, the parts shown were human hands which can never be recognised. The so-called clothes that the victims' relatives would have relied upon were being stashed away by some people for whatever reason. Who wants to wear dead peoples' clothes?

Does it matter where the relatives hear the news first? The most important thing is to hear it because even if AIT had not aired it, the newspapers would have publised the names today. Talking about the names, the manifest had been read before AIT's exclusive.

NBC is probably following government's orders because some other 'stories' were considered offensive! rolleyes

Can anyone believe that AIT, the only station that rued the day was sanctioned for showing 'unprofessional pictures' of the crash site. Are we going to ever progress or remain static or worse still regress? angry

Foreign Affairs / Re: The Euro: Possibly the Real Reason for US Invasion of Iraq? by delarontus(f): 12:32pm On Oct 22, 2005
This thread lends credence to the present 'war' between the US and China over the exchange rate of the yuan and the regulation of imports from China. The Chinese are proving to be the liberators of the world from US economic domination and the US ain't finding that funny.

In the past when most goods were manufactured in the US and they dominated world trade, they claimed it was comparative advantage, now why can't they allow other countries to take advantage of that equally?

I love Dean Koontz and Stephen King, Presently have a hard back copy of 'Insomnia' i'm about to start. The first time i tried Koontz, it was 'the bad place' and i freaked out because it was so nice. I've been an addict ever since. Please remind me of the other titles i'll like to relive the memories.

When you close your eyes you savour in the moment and relive the experience which is just wonderful! Also, under the rules of etiquette, it is considered rude to look into the eyes of your partner while kissing.

Education / Re: 6-9-3 Universal Basic Education (UBE) Scheme To Replace 6-3-3-4 by delarontus(f): 1:09pm On Oct 06, 2005
I have the information but i'll have to type the text out because its the newspaper i have not the weblink.

Government hasn't abolished 6-3-3-4 system - NERDC [The Punch, Wednesday, September 28, 2005, page 9]

The Nigerian Educational Research and Develpment Council on Tuesday put to rest the speculation generated in the media last week that the Federal Government had abolished 6-3-3-4 system of education and introduced a nine-year of compulsory education.

Last week, a Nigerian newspaper [not The Punch], reported that the Federal Government had scrapped the 6-3-3-4 educational policy and replaced it with the 9-3-4 system of education.

But addressing journalists in Lagos, the NERDC Executive Secretary, Prof. Godswill Obioma, said the government had not scrapped the 6-3-3-4 system nor abolished primary education in the country.

He said the 6-3-3-4 system was entrenched in the national policy on education and unless the policy was revised, it remained effective.

He explained that to achieve the objective of the Universal Basic Education, which included Education-For-All, the Federal Governement had made it mandatory for every child to have compulsory and uninterrupted education for the first nine years.

"This new arrangement means that a child must attend the six-year primary and the three-year junior secondary school," he said.

He explained that any child that concluded the first nine years of education, depending on his or her academic qualification, could proceed to the senior secondary or, go for technical education.

By the new arrangement, the NERDC boss stated that by law, parents who refused to send their children to school for the nine-year compulsory education risked being jailed.

He also stated that the council had been mandated to prepare an appropriate curriculum for the actualisation of the nine-year basic education system.

I hope this puts to rest all the arguments.
Education / Re: 6-9-3 Universal Basic Education (UBE) Scheme To Replace 6-3-3-4 by delarontus(f): 11:39am On Oct 05, 2005
Tommorrow i'll post the date of the punch newspaper where it was explained. Moreover, 9-3-4 makes more sense to the education sector.
Education / Re: 6-9-3 Universal Basic Education (UBE) Scheme To Replace 6-3-3-4 by delarontus(f): 11:20am On Oct 05, 2005
Kodewriter is right. Its 9-3-4 not 6-9-4. What this means is that it is now mandatory for every child to have 9 years of basic education from where he/she can either proceed to the senior secondary or opt for technical education.

This policy does not scrap 6-3-3-4 it is only an improvement on it. This means we will no longer have the primary school certificate as the minimun qualification in Nigeria but JSS 3 certificate.

Fabian is backstabbing Diego because he wants his new business to spring up. He is selfish and will stop at nothing to fulfil his wishes. Diego and Paloma have admitted they are still in love with another but the obstacle is Berenice because Paloma does not want to be the cause of their divorce niether does she want to betray Berenice whom she promised her friendship.

Julian was the man complaining about his coffee which was bad. Fabian and Rafael his new lawyer and custom agent deliberately sent the bad coffee so that when Julian's client receives it in America, he will reject it and Fabian will offer to sell him coffee form his new Rooster in America. However, Diego and Elena signed the papers sending the coffee so Fabian is cleared. He does not want Elena and Diego to help Julian in replacing the coffee so that Julian's client will become his client.

You need to watch the soap atimes so that i'll also get information from you when i miss it.

Fabian is trying to satisfy his selfish interests in his new business by setting traps for Diego and Elena in the office. His wife is not likely to give birth so he is greatly disturbed since his mother told him to get rid of the wife if she cannot get pregnant.

Diego has gone for the test in the hospital but he still can't get over Elena. Elena's friend from Europe is around to see her and Diego is very jealous because he thinks that's her boyfriend.

Diego has two sisters, Diana and Daniella. They are both unmarried. Daniella just returned from Paris where she's been living. Even if they both get married they cannot inherit anything because only sons and sons' sons can inherit.

Its the only way to have a child with his wife without sleeping with her. He believes he can only sleep with someone he loves but he's only doing it bitterly because he wants to go ahead with his life without Paloma whom he believes is in love with someone else.

It depends on where you stopped because i watch it on AIT. Diego is going ahead with the decision of his wife on getting an artificial insemination so they can have children. He believes Paloma/Elena is dating someone else and no longer loves him.

Oscar [Femi Branch] is a good actor. When he was interviewed about his role in Domino he said so many housewives now hate him in real life. They actually walk up to him on the streets just to insult him. I think he is playing his part very well. I also hate his character in the soap.
