@Coco29: Sorry the caveat is "you must be able to treat them equally".
Islam for Muslims / Re: Breaking News From The Quran !!!!!!!!!!!!! by delarontus(f): 1:51pm On Sep 20, 2006
@Coco29: The divorce rate is generally high regardless of religion so i do not agree with you on that. However, i'm open to your views if you have statistical records to show that divorce rate is higher in Islam than other religions.

On the issue of marrying more than more than one wife, both Islam and Christianity forbid fornication and adultery therefore the spread of HIV and AIDS through sex can only be curbed when you stick to your partner. However, if a man who has been faithful to his wife decides to marry another wife and eventually consumates the marriage, i do not see the risk of getting HIV because he has had lawful sexual intercourse with her. The bane of HIV, AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases we have is indiscipline. Many singles have had sex before marriage and many married people cheat on thier partners.

The fact that a man is allowed to marry more than one wife in Islam comes with a caveat which is "you must be treat them equally". Where you cannot fulfill this condition, you cannot marry another wife but of course we find people claiming to be able to fulfill that conditin and go ahead to marry more wives.

I'll like to point out that the provisions of the Quran are explicit on all issues of life but sometimes people interprete them to suit their selfish needs and purposes.

@coCo29: The sole purpose of human creation is to worship and praise God which we must all do even if it means losing our lives in the process. Now do not confuse this with killing people for ulterior motives in the name of God. If you are attacked, you have every right to defend yourself even if it means dying in the process. You must defend that faith which you stand for and your Creator who created you but this does not mean every killing is done in the name of God or in the defence of God.

In the Old Testament people used to wash even before entering the temples to pray, now what is wrong in being clean before praying to God. Remember cleanliness is next to Godliness, where do you think that came from? If God says that is the way he wants you to appear before him, no human being can question that because some issues are way beyond human comprehension.

I hope this answers your question. Lest i forget, Muslims are not violent but a few get violent in the name of the religion which means only God can read our hearts and discern who is right or wrong.

Try downloading Adobe Reader 7.0 from Adobe website. The 6.0 version you have might be damaged.
TV/Movies / Re: Stripping Of Exclusivity Rights Of DSTV By The Government by delarontus(f): 10:19am On Sep 13, 2006
We never had competition in that industry. When government decided to liberalise it, the new entrants discovered that they had no chance of airing the favourite channels in Nigeria due to the exclusive rights obtained by DSTV. What right does DSTV, a South African company have to obtain rights for independent countries such as Nigeria?

Nigeria made a mistake in the past by allowing such business venture to thrive without regulation but it has to stop! A Company cannot dominate the industry and determine prices the way they have been carrying on.

I read in the papers sometime ago that even the exclusive right to Sky Sports will be reviewed when the contract expires in 2007.
TV/Movies / Re: Stripping Of Exclusivity Rights Of DSTV By The Government by delarontus(f): 9:13am On Sep 13, 2006
DSTV also took undue advantage of its position to acquire rights for the entire continent. If our government was 'asleep' in the past, they are wide awake now and the monopoly has to stop.

Please where can i get Tade Ogidan and Tunde Kelani's collections of movies? I know in the western countries, their production companies would have released their collection of movies in DVD packs.
TV/Movies / Re: The Gardener's Daughter: TV Soap Opera by delarontus(f): 2:18pm On Aug 29, 2006
Emilia who plays the role of the mother is the same as Louisa who plays the role of the daughter. They think the audience will not realise it since the switch was done in the early episodes when the faces were yet to register on our minds.

True that!
Health / Re: Regular Soap Or Body Wash: Which Is Better by delarontus(f): 10:19am On Aug 02, 2006
Bodywash ain't all about the lather because it is recommended that they should be used with body puffs or sponges and that is when you get a good deal out of them. However, if you live in a place where water is not in surplus quantity, it is better you use soap because then, you'll need less water to wash off.

Bodywash is the bomb anyday, it actually washes better without leaving those greasy feelings and scum!
Phones / Re: Cell Wireless Network by delarontus(f): 10:18am On Jul 13, 2006
The information on the global sim is under the 'faq', infact the useful information are under this section. The global sims aren't out yet because they are working on the wi-fi phones which will come with them but the personal gateway numbers associates use presently are from Australia.
Phones / Cell Wireless Network by delarontus(f): 7:50pm On Jul 12, 2006
Nairalanders,

I'll like to share information on the new wireless network which will hit the market soon but which you can join as an early bird. Its called Cell Wireless and their website is www.cellwireless.com.

There are two folds to the network. One is having the opportunity to make calls at chepaer rates with a golbal sim which means you can use the phone anywhere on earth. The second side to it is nerwork marketing whereby you earn money for joining the network.

How many times does your local operator give you money for using its network? Think about it.

For more information visit the site and read the faq.
Business / Re: Business Name Registration In Nigeria by delarontus(f): 4:03pm On Jul 10, 2006
I register business names and companies but i'm not in Lagos. The online service is for lawyers only and its not even reliable because they have not set things right at their IT department.
Literature / Re: Tintin E Books by delarontus(f): 3:53pm On Jul 10, 2006
The least of the files is about 17MB. I can't send that through any known message service. Each file is a title so i can't even break it. Do i have to register on 'yousendit' before i can send a file?
Literature / Re: Tintin E Books by delarontus(f): 11:38am On Jul 10, 2006
I'm having problems with the website recommended by the administrator. It keeps breaking off half way and its not convenient to start all over when one is sending a file of 22MB.

I know you can study for your masters at the University of Leicester in Nigeria. They have a representative in Lagos who recruits for their long distance programmes. Please let me know if you want their name and contact information.

@molluma: part one to ten? They don't have titles?

@cisa2006: I tried sending them from 'yousendit' but the page keeps going off midway, its a problem.
Literature / Re: Tintin E Books by delarontus(f): 9:09am On Jul 04, 2006
@cisa2006: I'm sending the files today.
@molluma: I don't understand your request.
Literature / Re: Tintin E Books by delarontus(f): 10:11am On Jul 03, 2006
I think it will be better to tell me the titles you want because its too large to be sent as an attachment through email.
Literature / Re: Tintin E Books by delarontus(f): 1:16pm On Jul 01, 2006
I have a collection of "e-tintin". I will send it to the administrator to forward to you hoping that the file isn't too large.

This includes the fact that most of them have been blocked by NITEL due to huge debts unpaid by them. The operators connected to NITEL are the ones with five digit access codes.
