I'm a top fan of this soap. I think its the best soap ever aired in Nigeria. It was given thumbs up in Mexico wher it was shot.

Paloma and Diego had a pact after they met at the Hacienda to get married the following year. Diego returned to London to school while Paloma continued working on the working coffee fields as a collector. She later discovered she was pregnanat and went in search of Diego in London. She was tricked into going to Paris to work but found out later she was sold into prostitution. Because she was pregnant and very stubborn, she didn't sleep with any man.

Diego returned to the Hacienda to find out she was nowhere to be found and only heard rumours that she was a prostitute in Paris. He was disappointed, sad, angry and afraid to be alone. He got married to Berenice on the day Paloma returned to the Hacienda which was the day they promised to get married.

Paloma cried her eyes out and felt disappointed. She also lost the pregnancy which Diego did not know about while in Europe doing odd jobs. She left the Hacienda with her mother and promised to make something out of her life without him. She left for Mexico City where she worked as a receptionist at a hotel and later a receptionist at the El Cafetelero which Fabian, Diego's cousin runs. She desperately wanted to work there in order to hear news of Diego whom she was still very much in love with.

Please feel free to ask more questions. I'm loving this soap and i hate to miss it.

If you visit www.ncc.gov.ng you wll get subscriber information for all the operators. The information is the most authentic one can get in Nigeria since they it was compiled by the regulator, NCC.

I think one can find them in the bookshops where school books are sold. Macmillan started republishing them to encourage the reading culture in Nigeria.

Health / Re: Smoking in Public: Should It Be Banned? by delarontus(f): 4:41pm On Sep 02, 2005
The law has to be passed first because people will ask if they are committing any offence by smoking in public as they do not consider it a nuisance.

Once the law is passed, enforcement comes in and then punishment for disobeying the law.
In some countries, smoking has been banned in areas around schools and hospitals. Smoking rooms are also created for smokers within the office complex.

We can use this thread to pass a bill on smoking in public since everybody agrees that smoking should not be done in public because of the health risk it portends for non-smokers.
Career / Re: Can Lawyers Practice Without Lying? by delarontus(f): 12:06pm On Sep 02, 2005
It is widely believed that lawyers are liars which is a lie in itself.

The notion that lawyers lie is predicated on the misconception of facts which in most cases are hidden from most people. The only one who can determine the truth or otherwise of a particular situation is God who is omnipresent and sees all.

Be that as it may, since God cannot visit the earth and speak to everybody on who is lying and saying the truth at a particular point in time, lawyers are trained to maintain law and order and instil the concept of justice in human relations. They do this by using evidence be it circumstantial or documentary to guide them therefore there is a tendency for some people to say that a lawyer is lying even when the truth is obvious.

The fact is that between you and I who were not present at the time of the event, one of us must still decide the innocent and guilty or victim.

However, technicalities of law tilt the scale of justice sometimes and that is why we have appeals.

Lawyers are not liars, they are only working within the established rules and regulations stipulated by the people.

You too cheesy. I kinda think most people who don't like are envious. I have a freind from Colombia who thinks she does everything but she's not good at anything. She ended up being nicknamed J-Lo!

Good news! Macmillan has started publishing the books again. Check your local bookstores as i 've been reading the adverts in the papers lately.
Business / Re: Which Nigerian Bank Do you Use and Why? by delarontus(f): 11:00am On Aug 22, 2005
GTB replies email enquiries sometimes and they don't waste time. Call it the future generation bank.

Afribank is managing but can do a lot better.

Oceanic is cool, trying to be like GTB but not bad at all. They need to work on their public relations.

STB needs to reorganise itself. Visiting any of their branches is like going to the market to shop. Its rowdy and crowdy and i can't stand the queue.
Music/Radio / Re: In Love With Jennifer Lopez (J Lo) by delarontus(f): 10:53am On Aug 22, 2005
J-Lo rocks! She can sing, act, dance and tops of all she's beautiful with a great body. What more can she ask for. Oops i forgot, she's loaded too.

Islam for Muslims / Re: God and Allah: Are they the same? by delarontus(f): 10:00am On Aug 16, 2005
Administrator, I don't know why you still let this thread continue. Are you waiting for people to start throwing missiles at themselves before you stop it? Certain posters are becoming blasphemous because they have little or no knowledge of the topic.

I do not think the author of this topic intended this type of discourse and i speak vehemently against it.

Thumbs up Nairalanders! I've never experienced so much excitement and unison on any topic on the forum like this.

Call it buka or mama put, nothing compares to it! That is why Nigerians abroad spend so much to obtain something close to the real thing they miss back at home.
Nairaland / General / Re: Chatting on Nairaland? by delarontus(f): 4:40pm On Jul 20, 2005
I completely agree with you administrator. There are enough chat rooms on the internet -yahoo, hotmail and the rest. If the forum encourages chatting rooms then the attraction for serious-minded who want to interact and contribute intelligently will be lost.

I personally feel there too many social topics on the forum already with people getting more interested in knowing why women like men with big dicks.

The forum should be focused on its objectives and since it is still growing, we should encourage its development. PMs are sufficient for private conversations.
