Mosquitoes are pests and will always spread malaria. That is their mission on earth.

@ Seun: what i mean is that a kid of nine today is a lot smarter than a kid of nine ten years ago.

The bottom line is to learn from our mistakes and those of our ancestors.
Phones / Re: Investment in telecoms sector hits $8b by delarontus(f): 10:52am On May 26, 2005
When the opportunities for investment exist as we have Nigeria, more companies will be encouraged to invest. Some companies from the Asian countires are planning to invest in the manufacture of handset and accessories considering the fact that many people are yet to own them.

@ Seun: Return on investment can only be achieved after investment so the 'money to be made' is after investing in this sector.

Content providers are beginning to make more money than operators all over the world therefore MTN and Vmobile can only restrict people for a short while. we can come up with services where people can shop and pay bills through the internet because people want to do more things with their phones than just to make and receive calls.

A time will come when people will prefer to subscribe to an operator because of the services he has to offer rather than ridiculous offers on low tariffs when the quality of service is poor

Webmasters / Re: Fine Website By Nigerian Army by delarontus(f): 2:34pm On May 25, 2005
The .ng domain name for Nigeria is going through political problems since some stakeholders are preventing us from acquiring it. Most countries have it and wonder why Nigeria's is controversial.

The face on the Nigerian army website should be the present Chief of Army Staff.

Phones / Re: Investment in telecoms sector hits $8b by delarontus(f): 2:19pm On May 25, 2005
I agree with Hidden Hunter's analysis there's still a lot to be made from the Nigerian telecoms industry considering the fact that we have about 12 million mobile lines and 500,000 fixed lines for a population of about 120 million.

Money can be made from this sector when people get acquainted with the latest technology and modes of deployment which means that Nigerians abroad who are experienced in this sector should endeavour to come home and impart thier knowledge on others by investing.
Health / Re: Why Do We Keep Suffering From Malaria? by delarontus(f): 2:05pm On May 25, 2005
Very funny mamba grin How on earth can that repel mosquitoes? In some environments, your battery will run out before daybreak! The poverty level makes that an almost impossible option because most people don't have mobile phones and some of those who do can't afford that hi-tech phone of yours.
Family / Re: Sex Education in the Family. by delarontus(f): 1:58pm On May 25, 2005
Kids are getting smarter than we were as kids. I think their questrions should be answered as honest and simple as possible. As Ra put it try to be a friend to your child because for all you know that child might be asking you a question to reconfirm another person's answer. When the child discovers that you are hiding things then curiosity sets in and you don't wnat to know the extent that child will go to get more information especially in this Internet era.

@Seun:

Now that ChiChi is out do you still think she's Chidi's favourite?

I think Chidi runs the show like a moderator should. He is in charge and if anybody feels otherwise he can leave the camp. He is supposed to intimidate the contestants and instil fear in them because they are not there for a friendly show. It is a challenge!

Phones / Re: NITEL Up For Sale Soon by delarontus(f): 1:08pm On May 18, 2005
Mtel has been seperated from NITEL and has been operating as an independent company. It will also be privatised after NITEL. There would be no conflict of interest but competition.
Phones / Re: NITEL Up For Sale Soon by delarontus(f): 3:53pm On May 17, 2005
If MTN will manage it properly, it can go to them but there should be a condition that there must be at least 70% local content of staff at all levels.

Business / Re: Company Registration In Nigeria by delarontus(f): 2:32pm On May 13, 2005
@admin: Still working on your request.

@chimanu2000: I can help you with the business name and private company registration when you are ready because they will require you to provide some information. However, you can send a personal message to discuss the details for confidentiality. Business name registration is not more than ten thousand while the private comapny registration fee will depend on the type of company and share capital.
Romance / Re: Ladies: Would You Marry a Younger Man? by delarontus(f): 3:23pm On May 11, 2005
It depends on the level of maturity exhibited by the guy which is usually not much! I do not think so.

Bookstores generally. Some sell new some sell used. Another alternative is to send someone travelling out of the country for latest books.

What will be the benefit for you apart from self satisfaction if the whole world visits your website and you do not make a dime from it. I am not asking you to go commercial against your wish but this prompts me to ask a question that has been bugging me for a while. How does yahoo break even whit so many free users? They are getting bigger and more popular and smiling to the bank at the same time! Sooner or later the traffic will be too much to handle.

I am not aware of these events and do not pay particular attention to his posts to have noticed anything. However if in your opinion as an administrator and in the opinion of other representatives you feel he is not here to share and participate positively, then he has to leave. I don't think we need spoilers here to infect others.

Computers / Re: To Create Broadband Internet Access by delarontus(f): 10:41pm On May 03, 2005
The government that owns NITEL ran it down with their policies. I think we should encourage them rather than castigate them. Remember that its difficult to point accusing fingers where the government is concerned. I know i have read some peoples' comments on the GPRS service provided by Glo on this forum and their intention to migrate back to MTN! So sometimes the devil you know is better!!
Phones / Re: 11 Million Phone Lines in Nigeria (teledensity now 9.2) by delarontus(f): 1:05pm On May 03, 2005
Wow, at the last count mobile lines were about 9m, NITEL about 250,000 and the other fixed line operators 400,000. This is an improvement but with a population of about 120m, the tele-density is below average. Telephone penetration is another issue entirely. A country like South Africa has about 19m mobile lines and about 4m fixed lines though the distribution is discriminatory.

The issue of tariffs can only be determined by market forces and the use of cost-effective technology.

Van Halen is a rock group but sometimes they have some slow kinda rock music. Good. Meatloaf is also good.
