Using Elijah as your line of defence just reinforced the point I made earlier. Elijah was first and foremost a PROPHET whose prophesies always come to past. Pls, show me any other men of God in the Bible whose only call is just to criticise like Freeze is constantly doing. Yes, God give his servants different gifts but I have never read in the Bible where he gave anyone the gift of criticism...you can show me whenever you find one. Criticising is very sweet and trust me, anyone can do it just fine but people WHO made positive impacts in others lives are not just talkatives, they ACT out what they say. I will start taking him serious when he decide to set up foundation to help the poor people he always call sheep rather than the usual talks and rhetorics which have become over flogged and tiring.

Parents also should be very vigilant around their kids, and they should never allow their kids off their sight even with family members, let alone strangers.

And that is why churches that have separate worship classes for kids, are the kind I will not advice any parents to attend.

We should be wise, even at our places of worship.

Why not tell the parents to stay with their kids in the daycare or school while at it? You know...so that they can protect them from 'evil' nannies and teachers...
Edit: FYI Most churches have Sunday schools not because they derive joy in 'separating families' as your ill thought suggests but to teach kids about God in a very simplistic way. In some churches, teaching in Sunday school class is restricted to well trained educationists who work in school environment. How amusing will it be if the class teacher of your kid in school turn out to be a Sunday school teacher in a church.

Our leaders made the error at independence. Zik & Awo had the chance to gain independence for the South before 1960 and leave the North under the British. But no, they hesitated. Waiting till 1960 for the North to be ready.
After January 1966 coup, the North wanted to leave too. Again the South & UK/USA persuaded them to stay.

Now they have fought civil war to defend Nigeria, tasted central power and sweet petrol dollars. Now they want to keep enjoying it.

Thanks for the submission. On a side note, giving any group freedom to leave any time they feel like will cause gradual disintegration which may eventually lead to total collapse of the world order...imagine a world without any form of government....I can't see man surviving in this situation as he is a social being and he relies mainly on association for strength and survival.

Wait! do you just slyly compare Freeze to John the Baptist? Yes, John the Baptist use 'hard' words on pharisees but he was PRIMARY known for preaching repentance opening. Have you ever seen Freeze or whatever use his social handle to convert sinners to Christ? You just picked up one aspect of John's life and qualified Freeze with it so that you could drive a narrative. This comparison of yours is an intellectual dishonesty...

The Renaissance and the industrial revolution which occurred later were a success because the concomitant of religion such as Feudalism, Divine Right of Kings and Serfdom lost its on people. As a side note, spirituality (knowing and following God by faith for one self) is very different from organised or statehood religion like we have today. A nation like Saudi is a religious theocracy that tells people how to think, behave and act.

Religion might have been a boon companion of man from his primitive beginnings, but as man grows wiser (and he is), then it's only as a matter of course that he begins to clearly see the incongruous fatuities that abound in old wives' tales that speak unabashedly of talking serpents, levitating prophets, and schizophrenic Jews afflicted with the "son of God complex".

Oga, the last instance where Jesus made a statement regarding tithe was when he commended the widow for giving with all her heart and told others to do likewise. There is no instance in the Bible where giving of tithe stopped. Yes, giving to the poor is a good gesture but that should not be interchanged with giving of tithe. That there are false prophets and 419's every where doesn't change God's stance concerning tithe. Shalom.

Yes but he wasn't referring to tithe in that statement, rather he was talking about doing good to people as they are also God's image which is quite different. Stop twisting the Bible for your selfish interest.

I just want to ask these thought provoking questions from a neutral perspective to atheist and theists alike.
1. How did the idea of a 'god' first become conceived in the mind of the early man?
2. Why is man so attached to the idea of the existence of a 'god' that it has sparked thousands years of debate which is still ongoing?
3. Will there come a time when this debate will stop?
4. Will there be a time when the receding ignorance will cease to be and man will know all there is to be known? (note that at this point, man would be omniscience therefore, the debate of the existence of a 'god' will cease to be).
5. If there will be a time like that, will man be able to survive up to that time?
6. If possible, what are the chances that man will be able survive and achievements that feat?
7. If there is 'very low' or No chance that man will survive up to that time of being omniscience, then, why do man still debate the existence of a 'god' when he knows that he wouldn't live to proof or debunk it?

Sir, I love your doggedness but learn to know when to bow out. You were schooled and your frantic effort to stay 'afloat' make your desperation more obvious. If I were you I will leave the scene quietly and research more to gather momentum instead of deviating from line of discussion and throwing fits. Sir. Pls I beg free the guy. I have been following this debate and what I have noticed is that he is trying too hard to lure you into another discussion but I love the way you stayed on point. That is one attribute of a good debater I just learnt. He is like a man drowning but prefer to continue struggling in the pool instead of gripping the floater thrown at him. I had rather believe the big bang which holds more credibility as a Theory than the multiverse which is just a hypothesis and will likely stay that way.
