lexy2014: Population is an issue but it could also b an advantage but Nigerias problem is beyond population. Even if we were just 20m, with mindset we have as leaders& followers, it won't make any difference It's a combination of bad leadership/follower mindset and a rising population. Since the government isn't living up to their responsibilities the wise thing for citizens to do is reduce their birth rate and it will make a huge difference. Even with a population of 20 million the standard of living will be much higher than what is today even if the leadership angle remains the way it is. |

Do you know that Google don't operate in China for years now ? They said its for security reasons. China steals trade secrets, it's no news. U.S no dey spy? They are actually the global chief spy. |

MissRaine69: It’s not about licking anyone’s ass Huawei argues it is independent of the state yet the Chinese government is heavily invested in Huawei . It’s a technology giant and if a state especially China is involved that makes any country Huawei is operating in a target for state sponsored spying. China is notorious for that. Huawei has issues in Canada and Europe read newspapers it helps. You think the U.S don't collect spy data from American tech companies? The U.S was actually caught wire tapping the German Chancellor's phone line. It's all pot calling kettle black. Whatever the U.S does is good but when other countries do it it becomes bad. |

I pity everyone who expects a miracle to happen. This country will never get better as long as the population is rising faster than any little improvement made. The earlier we accept this the better. That's why Nigerians keep getting poorer. |

Yes, Nigeria's foreign policy is 'Make friends as much as possible'...but Maduro for now is not in the good books of the main powers. Let's be careful So because Trump says he is bad then it means he is actually bad and Nigeria should avoid him? Who is Trump to tell other governments who they should rapport with? |

1zynnvn: Huawei that can't even manufacture processor as ARM has withdrawn support from Kirin(huawei own processor) cos of the ban. On what will their android run on. Android can only run on ARM and Intel. Intel is ruled out already as its a us coy. ARM a British coy has been ordered to stop all dealings with huawei. I'm pretty sure this ban will be reversed else huawei is a gunner with regards to Mobile phone manufacturing At worst they will temporarily suspend their phone business unit. Then after they have independently built their own alternatives then business resumes again. I don't see the phone business permanently dying. |

Nuzo1: Huawei have had very low sales for their new smart phones already. Chinese in China have started avoiding it.
Most south Korean and Japanese tech giants have started cutting ties with Huawei already. Panasonic just did this morning.
If Huawei doesn't work fast to reverse this ban; it will pack up in less than 2 years from now. It will be hard for Huawei to die in China because they already don't even use Google services there. A new OS will be more easily implemented there. It's just a temporary inconvenience. They will rise again bigger and stronger. Besides, the American policy behind all this can still change. |

Phones › How Huawei Might Easily Destroy Google's Android by Delivar(op): 12:16pm On May 22, 2019 |
The recent ban and temporary ban lifting of Huawei's access to premium Google Android services has been a wake up call for Huawei to have a rethink about their dependence on Android. Many of us think this will be the end Huawei but this appears far from happening. It actually appears Huawei can actually sink Android to oblivion when you consider a few things.
What if Huawei comes up with a new OS and the CEO of Huawei approaches the Chinese government for a favour to compel every Chinese smartphones manufacturer to switch to the new OS?
China has numerous smartphone manufacturers from high quality to affordable quality. The list includes:
Huawei Motorola Oneplus Lenovo ZTE Xiaomi Vivo Oppo meizu Infinix Tecno Itel
All these Chinese smartphone brands combined together should actually be more than half of the entire Android phones used in the world. If all these brands are compelled to use a new OS by the Chinese authorities then Android might end up being drowned to the bottom. The only smartphone brands that will be left with Android are Samsung, LG, Sony and few other brands that have lost market share. One thing to note is that these remaining brands are actually expensive brands. Samsung phones are not that affordable. How many people can afford Samsung phones with good specs? Just a few people. This means many people will end up not buying the left over expensive brands like Samsung, LG and Sony still using Android. They will will forced to switch to a cheaper Chinese brand using the new OS.
People say a new OS is not possible to pull through due to the availability of apps. We all need to be aware that there are only 2.6 million apps on the playstore and the bulk of those apps are junk apps and those that many people can do without. The number of very important apps and widely used apps on the playstore might be like 100,000 or even less. China has millions of developers who can actually duplicate all these important apps to the new OS within a short period of time. After this has been done the new OS will certainly grab a large market share bigger than Android due to the fact that all Chinese smartphone brands adopted it and the prices of the phones are affordable. Even Samsung and other expensive left over brands still stuck with Android might eventually make some models of their phones to adopt the new OS to stay relevant in the market. Anything can happen so the Android OS is not actually invincible. |

I doff my heart for Seun as he was quite young when he started and the site now has over 2m members.
Yes, Seun needs to improve the site but why don't you suggest to him politely? (Read Proverbs 15:1)
Bandwidth is expensive hence watching video on their bandwidth is a no no. Even now, they are struggling with bandwidth
Seun's biggest problem is that revenue is not comensurate with the traffic to the site.
His best source of revenue would have been Google Adsense. That was their primary source of revenue when it started but Google didn't like some content here (most likely from the sex subforum) and they dropped Nairaland.
Their present source of revenue which is paid advertising from Nigerians on different sub forums using banner ads won't bring in commensurate income.
There are other ways he can monetize the site such as Taboola and Revcontent but it will look spammy, ruin the user experience and take visitors away from Nairaland. Innovation is the key bro. If he had sense of innovation he would have expanded the service scope of Nairaland and provide other services that will generate more revenue. When Google started they were offering only one service which was the search engine. But today they are into cloud computing, Android OS, digital advertising technology, artificial intelligence, email service and storage service etc. All these have increased their revenue. Another problem is the one man business mentality. If you try to contact Seun today for business partnership to offer an idea or technical assistance to improve Nairaland he will just ignore you. |

Several of the people that gathered to gall Tinubu have been thrown into the dusbin of history. From Funsho Williams and Wahab Dosunmu who are both resting in peace now. Bode George whom Tinubu sent to six months imprisonment for an offense that did not exist. What about broda Chemist our regular customer Jimi Agbaje? He has gone back to his chemist shop. Musiliu Obanikoro came back to beg. Have you seen Yahya Bello in Bourdillion to beg after abusing Tinubu for many years? That Yahya is a bastard. Senator Adeseye Ogunleye who also once colluded with Obasanjo to fight Tinubu has also gone back to beg Tinubu.
Did you not hear how Kano PDP was shouting and crying before the rerun governorship election when PDP heard a rumour that Tinubu was in Kano? Did you not see Kwara State governor elect in Tinubu's house to pay homage? Did you not also see Ogun State governor elect in Tinubu's house to pay homage? Did you not see Osun State governor in Tinubu's house to pay homage? Whom God hath blessed, no group of nincompoop can curse. Stupid comment. You call a rouge politician a blessing from God?
