They keep asking, "where are the burnt Quran?", "where are the ashes of the burnt Quran?", "what is wrong with burning an ordinary book?" I believe if one Christian, just one come out to say "it's not right to disrespect other people's values" for once the country would be a less violent place. 2 Likes |

People on this forum are suddenly acting intelligent, intelligently questioning the authenticity of the story. The same people who will believe sultan sponsors Fulani herdsmen/boko haram without any proof, same people who believe the poo that Abiola sank a boat ladened with bibles without asking the IMO number of the boat, without asking if Abiola climbed up the boat and punctured holes in the bottom of the boat, they didn't ask if abiola had marine experience to have executed such a complex task. Yet they believe if you preach in the north you will be killed but didn't ask how most schools in the north were missionary schools who still kept their huge cathedrals, Winners chapel started in kaduna but I saw pastor Abioye spreading lies to his ignorant followers about burning churches. I grew up to know Saturday's was days for door to door evangelism for a certain church denomination where they target children who they feel are not strong will enough to disearn their faith. No one killed these house to house preachers as a matter of fact they got better reception from Muslims than Christians who treated them with scorn. But it's usually okay to lie against anyone who's not a Christian (white garment and Catholics would have been their targets if not for Islam). 3 Likes 1 Share |

When a pastor is caught in crime my Christian brothers feel so much pain, they usually wish he gets away with the crime even if it's murder, they just can't stand seeing Christians in bad light. They prefer it being hidden from the media, you will here questions like "were you there when it happened?" "Tell us the name of the church", "what is the name of the pastor?" Or worse, they wil threaten/ blackmail you with words like "if you say anything bad about a man of God, you will die" "touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm" even when the prophet just killed someone. But when it's Muslim, there won't be any need to verify the authenticity of the story then you will hear " they are all wicked". That's a real cult behavior, to conceal the dirty secrets of there members no matter the cost. 1 Like 1 Share |

lexy2014:The people of Cross River are economically docile/lazy, you can hardly see 'Cross Riverian' outside his/her state, they hardly venture into anything or out of their comfort zone, most people referred to as Calabar are usually from neighboring Akwa Ibom. Oil revenue help sustain the state back then, all the wells were lost Akwa Ibom state after a Supreme Court ruling. How did I know this? Because I work on the same fields ceded to Akwa Ibom state. And that also explains the sudden economic and infrastructural growth enjoyed by Akwa Ibom. |

lexy2014:I totally agree with you that Donald Duke's leadership was best in class and his successors could not keep up the tempo and in fact lack any leadership acumen, even though Donald Duke had the luxury of oil revenue accrued to the state in his time. However, cult killings can not be attributed to failures of a governor, when leadership fails it's good we say it, when followers fail too, we diagnose it as it is and not shift blames on the leaders. The people there are inherently lazy ( mentally and economically) hence, the manifestations of laziness. |

DateMynd44:I disagree with you on this, while traveling from Itu(Akwa Ibom state) you would not see any destructions on the Akwa Ibom divide until you enter Odukpani (Cross Rivers state) you would see burnt houses line up the road, the police and Road Safety stations were burnt by Akwa Ibom people who crossed the bridge to burn houses and kill people. Except you mean to tell me Odupkani people burnt their own houses themselves and left the place. Lies everywhere. 1 Like |

I just returned from Calabar few days ago. The town is truly overhyped, no economic activities going on in the entire state. It's tourism potential has been destroyed because it's been infested with low life cult/gang killings. There is also an epidemic of child destitution aptly know as skolombo children, an equivalent of almajiri, they litter the city and cause mayhem, I'm wondering why no they are not in the spotlight just as their almajiri counterparts in the north. The state lost its glory when it lost oil fields/ revenue to Akwa Ibon state during the Yaradua regime. It's a relic of its old self. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I see my Christian brothers saying it's a fabricated story and are hesitant in accepting it as truth. If only they will ask these question when a Muslim is being suspected of a crime. It is not a sin in Christianity to lie against other religions so long as it makes them look bad and make Christianity look good. They all want to cover up for Christians no matter the bad things they must have committed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Why do I persive something inherently wrong with our sense of justice. Fulanis kill, we call them evil blood suckers, when Fulanis get killed, you hear comments like "they have done worse", "they deserve more", "it's a disguise to gain sympathy and to play they victim card". This mentality will never bring an end to this crisis, it will get worse. The fulanis will come back with a reprisal attack. The locals will kill more. Until we all condemn the killings knowing everyone killed was loved by someone, and has the right to life, until then the killings will continue. 1 Like |

I'm ashamed to see the sense of judgement of majority of Nigerians, inasmuch as I hate the killings perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen, no one ever sees the fact that they have been killed in places like Mambila in Taraba state, the same Benue state, Plateau state. Boldly showing one sided view to judgement would rather worsen the situation. If we must achieve peace we must stop playing blind eyes when our kit and Kins kill those who are not from our ethnicity or religion. |

2017 has been a remarkable year for Igbos, it's a year most Nigerians learnt a thing or two they hitherto did not know about this amazing ethnic group. Things like their uncommon bravery, their tendency to bond in unity in times of adversity. Most of all, this year they seem to have won the price for the most misunderstood group in the land. This may not be unconnected with certain collective struggles such as these listed below. 1. Free Evans campaign on the social media. Evans made fame as the billionaire kidnapped in the earlier part of the year, he had taken his trade to an industrial scale seeking over a million dollars from his victims. What shocked my as well as most Nigerians is the bravery (or effrontery) of his kinsmen to demand his immediate release because he is not the only criminal in the land. 2. Ozugbulu massacre. The country woke up to a sad news of mass shooting in the church in the small town of Ozugbulu. The killings were connected to known drug wars that have been raging for months and we're known to have started abroad in their strongholds in South Africa. But their kinsmen decision to rewrite the crime story hinting it was Boko Haram then they ALL agreed it was the federal government who sent soldiers to kill their people on a peaceful Sunday morning. That's bravery. 3. Innosson vs Guaranty Trust Bank: we all know there are flaws in the borrower-lender relationship involving banks and customers and that may not be ruled out in the case between innosson and GTBank but how would one explain an entire tribe of more than thirty million people threatening to close their bank accounts with a bank because the said bank seeks recovery of a loan from a borrower of Igbo extraction. Not forgetting that there is also a forgery case involved. 4. Buhari created fuel scarcity to impoverish Igbos: this one weak me. As a new year is approaching I hope Igbos would turn a new leaf, eschewing bitterness and the notion that every other Nigerian hates the Igbo people. This collective effort to retrace their steps would be for the overall good of the Igbos because Nigerians do not appear to take Igbo issues with much seriousness. 1 Like |

Could she be lying to the court? she could have attacked those men for a different reason and claimed she was about to be raped. I wonder why average Nigerian can not reason deep when they hear words like rape and violence against women. The court must have punched holes in her claim and found it to be false. |

I have seen so many abusive relationships/marriages where the victim is the man, I mean so many. It is usually okay if the man remains inside and dies of heartbreak. Abusive relationship should not be hijacked by a group of people (so called feminists). It weakens the argument when people try to see abuse from the point of view of the woman being the victim. Also it has become a tool for which many bad women win legal arguments, just say the magic word "abuse" and every of her sins are erased, women have used it to blackmail and bring men down when they are no longer into such men emotionally and I think it would soon be over-used and the word 'abuse' itself will be abused by Nigerian women. Already researchers in the US are beginning to understand that Nigerian women specifically provoke their men into hitting them e.g. by bringing their boyfriends to their matrimonial homes so they can have a no-argument case when they want to claim all the man has worked for in the US. The world must know that men can also be victims of domestic abuse, the world must also recognize that certain women use the word as tool to blackmail and destroy their men, lastly, the world must understand that the word abuse would soon be abused and it would not be taken seriously after some time. 3 Likes |
