Politics / Re: Fashola Vows To Deal With Owner Of Stored Fire Crackers by deltaforce7(m): 8:57am On Dec 27, 2012
Governor Fashola should look at issues objectively. What if the owner of the property was not aware such inflammable substance was stored in there by the tenants? Don't forget it was a store house used for business purposes.Having said that, it is grand display of irresponsibility to store crackers to such magnitude and not expect the possibility of a mishap. The governor should make the law enforement agents fish out the owner of the crawkers and ensure he is made to face the full weight of the law. Those who cleared the importation of the crackers should also be arrested and dealt with. What has gone wrong with our society?

I blame uncle Jona. He should have stuck to his decision to weed out those assholes in NFF. They are a bunch of rogues. I even wonder why people that are not professionals, people who know nothing about football should be the ones be the ones making decisions on football matters.

The coaches we have had so far, including Keshi, are all after their pockets - after what they can get. Where do we go from here? Uncle Jona should intervene ooo and call the bluff of FIFA.
Politics / Re: Kaduna Get New Deputy Governor by deltaforce7(m): 9:38pm On Dec 24, 2012
The choice of a man whose age is 63 years as deputy governor leaves much to be desired. However, what Kaduna State needs now is peace, lasting peace. That state has witnessed so much destruction in recent times.Whoever will bring peace should be accepted, whether Muslim or Christian. Besides, the earlier we begin to leave religion and ethnicity out of our politics the better for us.

She was about to flag off a major project in my town, Obomkpa, BEFORE this abduction took place. That project must take off ooo. Poster, your question shows your naivity at current political consciousness in the country. While, in answering your rather stupid question, I dare say both parties are equally untrustworthy, emphasis should be on result orientedness of individuals, not poilitical enclaves. The earlier we begin to de-emphasize party groupings the better for us.

I don't know why some of you are abusing the Arewa youths. They have just said they don't want bad leadership in their region again, bad leadership that has bred an evil group in the north. The SS and SE have monsterous groups too. The youths in those regions should rise up to challenge their leaderships to accountability. That is the way to go , not come to NL and run mouth against people who are, at least, making efforts to create sanity in their area.

Politics / Suleja Bombing: Suspects Were Promised 72 Virgins Each – Witness by deltaforce7(m): 11:40am On Dec 07, 2012
An Army Officer told the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday that four suspects of the Suleja bombing were promised 72 virgins each as incentives.

The officer, whose name was not given for security reasons, was testifying in the case filed by the State Security Service against the six accused Suleja/Madalla bomb attack.

He said in his evidence-in-chief that the information was contained in a cell-phone confiscated from the suspects at the point of their arrest in Gumel Junction, Kachia in Kaduna State. The witness explained that a total of four mobile phones were ceased from the suspects. According to him, one of the mobile phones carried the promise of incentives and the secret code to arrange and detonate an explosive.

The suspects are: Salisu Ahmed, Umar Babagana-Umar, Mohammed Ali and Musa Adam. They were arrested on July 28, 2011 in Kachia, on their way to Kaduna where the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, and other dignitaries were to attend a sporting function on July 29 at the township stadium.

It will be recalled that Umar Ibrahim and Shuaibu Abubakar, were also standing trial for alleged multiple bombings and killings in Suleja and Madalla both in Niger.

NAN reports that the witness reads the first message as thus: “Do a deed which Allah by his grace and mercy saves you from the punishment of the grave and a dangerous bridge with a speed of light.

“Save you from the greatest fear. Allow you save from hell fire. 70 members of your family shall marry you 72 virgins in paradise, gives you a crown of respect, which even the prophet will be impressed with.

“Keep your soul in the green birds of paradise and your wish to return to the World and die as he died because of the good blessings and reward you encounter after such noble last deed. I pray for you to do such a noble deed,’’ the message stated.

Mr Emeka Okoro, the counsel to the accused persons, however, applied for a short adjournment to enable him to access the officer’s statement which was not before the court.

Justice Bilkisu Aliyu then adjourned cross examination of the witness to Dec 6. Aliyu ordered the State Security Service to avail the counsel to the accused persons with the army officer’s statement. (NAN)

Education / Re: Ebonyi University Expels 33 Students & Suspends 88 by deltaforce7(m): 11:30am On Dec 07, 2012
If the so called suspension and expulsion are not product of victimisation, so be it. We have seen so much rut in our educational institutions in recent times. Little wonder the likes of Dangote would now offer driving jobs to some of our unemployable graduates.

The system needs to be cleansed and reasonable level of discipline put in place.

Politics / Re: Okupe Defends Jonathan’s Friendship With VIP-ex-convicts by deltaforce7(m): 11:07am On Dec 07, 2012
The thing is that truly there is no place in the constitution of the country that forbids the president from interacting with ex-convicts. The president is also a human being. O yes, that is true.

However, may I remind Dr. Okupe that a little leaven , they say, leavens a whole lot. The people a person moves with can determine where the person ends. So it is often said, 'Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you '.

Those men the President is romancing with, whether we like it or not, are part of the problems we have in this country. One way or the other, they chip unhealthy ideas into the president's already clustered mind. He should keep a safe distance from them, at least for as long as he is still in power. In advanced countries those CRIMINALS are isolated.
