Curlieweed: Those reforms should be backed by an act of the NASS. Johny Boy is the head of the executive branch not the legislature. We need to understand these little distinctions. He did what he could as an executive, "appoint a competent executive". You need to put the pressure on your representatives to adopt Uwais' recommendations into law. Stop being naughty by half. is it forbidden for the Executive to forward proposed reforms suggested by its committe to NASS in form of executive bill? Did jonaadaft do that? NASS can't adopt what they don't know about. It's executive report not nass report. What did jonaadaft do with the report ? |

Curlieweed: The fact that you apparently have reasons to believe that GEJ may lose the elections next year is yet another feather to Johny Boy's already brimming hat.
His efforts in designing an environment where elections are meaningful and where the "I" in INEC actually means independent is even more important than his already monumental economic and infractural achievements.
I am happy that the vast majority of Nigerians realize these unassailable achievements and recent polls indicate that a landslide victory is a forgone conclusion. Don't even go there. What makes INEC independent? Is it jega? If jega resigns today, will it still be independent? There was a reason why jonaadaft set up the uwais panel for electoral reform and uwais did an excellent job. When it was time for jonaadaft to implement, the fool gave us jega and junked the rest. Inec is no way independent. The neccessary reforms neccessary to ensure free and fair elections right from the lg levels to federal levels isn't just there. |

anonimi: Can this be taken as an admission of the fact that GEJ's administration is LESS corrupt than OBJ's, particularly considering the level of infrastructure construction/revival in the past three years or so Only eternal fools will accept such. Even during abacha period, there was high level of infrastructural construction that came in ptf projects. We are talking of corrupt thieves here. Infact, jonaadaft corruption is remarkable considering the fact that he started it from his bayelsa days when the fool did nothing throughout as governor. The drunkard shared money throughout. Anyone justifying jonaadaft corruption because of previous leaders acts deserves death. |

soroptimist: Nyako testified in court he didnt receive any letter of resignation from his Deputy, thereby enhancing his case
The correct manner of resigning is for the Deputy to tender his letter to the Governor and not to the House or Speaker even if he did so.......it is not recognised by law
So in the chronology and sequence of event leading to the arrangee impeachment of Nyako, the Deputy should have become the Governor Interesting development. |

And the house of assembly was foolish enough to accept it. Even if the speaker was jazzed, could the whole house be? None with their advisers could call for the rejection since it didn't follow due process. |

I knew this will happen. The process by which the resignation took place was obviously illegal. What am yet to decipher now is who exactly is playing what game. The state house was very foolish not to have mandated the deputy governor to follow the proper channel. |

And yes I expect Fayose has assembled his team. He has not peserved so far by being dull.
But that his ascension will not take place as scheduled, the main point of the whole plot, that one will not fly. What will only stop his ascension as it is now is a court proclamation. Don't be deceive, if this happens it will be illegal for him to be sworn. This explains why I earlier called on him to assemble his SANS to fight his battles and not useless thugs he parades himself with all day. |

Yes, his name was substituted but what about INEC? They witnessed the primaries and still towed the path of illegality by first giving Omehia certificate of return until the court right their wrong. Besides, iNEC confirmed the substitution. There is a law opponents claim was breached as regards fayose eligibility, they are free to address this supposedly wrong anytime they deem fit whether before elections or after elections or even after swearing him in. I don't think such is illegal also unless the court will strike out their plea. Am also not a lawyer but at times logical reasoning doesn't suggest adherence to the law. If I am fayose u will by now be assembling the best of SANS the country can offer to plead my cause in the law court instead of assembling thugs to courts threatening judges therby trying to prevent the cause of justice.

insideview: Seriously, what gives. In one breathe you postulate that the law supersedes all emotion and in the next you say every one know Inec isn't independent. Kindly breakdown what the position of the law is regarding the clearing of candidates for elections in Nigeria. That "everyone knows" seems like your private position.
Legally a man was cleared, contested and won. Then you now want to put the cart before the horse. . Quoting legalese where it suits you and projecting. Personal opinion where it doesn't?
Propaganda is legal. Believing your own lies is fatal Legally Omehia was cleared in Rivers, contested and won. The court came back with a verdict, Amaechi should be governor not Omehia.
Each side of the divide can continue with this till infinity and that explains why we should allow the court to decide based on the laws of the land. |

Let both parties slug it out in the law court by presenting their evidence in support of their argument. That the people voted for fayose is inconsequential if the foundation is faulty. Let the court decide if fayose is eligible or not. |

However i don't have a problem with judges that are apolitical and fair in their judgements but unfortunately the so called 'last hope of the common man' is gradually falling under the grip of corrupt politicians. I agree with u that part of our so called laws needs to be overhaul however pending when that is done, we must make use of what we have for now. If the courts interprets and rule against him as regards eligibility as stated then am sorry, the govt must comply |

Timehin: So what happens to the will of the people? Do you think Ekiti people will just sit back and allow their mandate be jettisoned The law of the land far supersedes the will of some people. Govt has sworn to uphold the law and its expected that this should be done. As soon as a court make a declaration, i expect the govt to obey and abide. |

Timehin: Though i am not a spokesperson for Fayose but I believed INEC cleared him to contest the election. And if he wasn't qualified as claimed by E-11, he should have been stopped via the necessary legal action before the election not after the people gave him their mandate. INEC isnt empowered to interpret the law, The courts will. let the court decide if he indeed is qualified to run. |
