I am all for Buahari and you can see that in all my previous political posts. i believe in Buhari 100%.

But Ameachi really withdrew all those money, and obviously, there is nothing tangible to show for it, then Rivers States needs to do all that is within it's power to get the money back. This is not witch hunting. That amount is colossal. I find it difficult that employees of Financial institutions will never fabricating lies against an ex governor.

I understand you a staunch Buhari/Apc supporter. The fact that the fund could havbe been Ameachi's brainchild (if it indeed is) does not give him the right to loot it like there is no tomorrow. Or is the money inside the fund also the brainchild of his pocket or sweat? Anybody can organize a Fund or special account; na the money inside be the koko; and that money is the collective heritage of the whole of Rivers state citizenry.

If Ameachi actually looted that much funds, let's call a spade a spade. he is wicked and deserves to be in jail. I'm sure Buhari never needed that much money for anything, so he can't claim he was looting it because of Buhari. Secondly, The reserved fund is a brain child of Amaechi himself who chose to save a certain percentage of income during the boom period, a feat jonah-daft never achieved at the center. that is a huge plus for Amaechi.
Thirdly, when income was dwindling, Amaechis reserve fund came to the rescue which was used to sustain the state. Each withdrawal had the backing of the HOA which is the representation of the people so it was a collective decision to withdraw and sustain the state.

While his contemporaries especially in the SS like Udaughan, Dickson etc were receiving allocation and destroying the entire thing every month, Amaechi chose to save and when income went down due to falling oil price, he cried to no one but his savings. Only a fool will expect Amaechi to save for the thug Wike to come and spend. Infact, Amaechi no try at all, he would have collected the entire savings to offset part of the debts of the state. Most likely, votes counted in favour for wike in that election was thumbprinted in one of wikes thiugs house. An army officer, Captain Garba Sani, told the Rivers State Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday‎ that he never saw where election was conducted in Tai Local Government Area where he and his other men were deployed to maintain peace and order on April 11, 2015, the day the poll was scheduled to hold.


The Mohammed Ambrosa-led tribunal overruled the objection by Governor Nyesom Wike, his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, before Sani was allowed to give his oral evidence on Wednesday.

Sani, a subpoenaed witness, who said he led 37 other soldiers on a patrol of the entire Tai, which is one of the 23 local government areas in Rivers State, said he appeared before the tribunal on the directive of army authorities.

‎The soldier, who is of the Bori Camp, Army Barracks in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, said he received the directive of the army authorities through the Directorate, Legal, of the Nigerian Army, after his unit received “a signal” about the subpoena served on the Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Tukur Buratai. ‎ The subpoena served on the Chief of Army Staff was obtained upon a request by the petitioners – the All Progressives Congress and its candidate in the April 11 poll, Dr. Dakuku Peterside – who are challenging the declaration of Governor Wike as the winner of the election.

The soldier, led in evidence by the petitioners’ counsel, Chief Akin Olujinmi (SAN), said his team’s patrol started at about 6pm on April 10 into the night and up till the election day on April 11

Ongoing probe of the administration of former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi by the State Judicial Commission of Inquiry has revealed how the sum of N53.930 billion was withdrawn out of the total N55 billion saved in the state reserved fund, originally meant to serve as a bail-out for the state in the case of emergency.

The witness told the Commission about four different resolutions of the State Assembly, which culminated in the withdrawals made.

According to him, the first resolution was made in 13 February, 2014, followed by the second and third resolutions which took place on 25 February, 2014 and 20 October, 2014 while the fourth and last resolution was made on18 May, 2015 prior to the handover of the former governor.

Based on the resolutions passed, the witness stated that Amaechi withdrew N30 billion, N19 billion, and N5 billion, apart from the fourth request of N1billion, which he recollected though was granted, but could not be withdrawn by the governor based on the protest by the funds trustees
