Amaechi disappointed me, he was all my song until he started running out of the rail and refused to take correction. To be very candid he did not finish well the race.

The hullabaloo u are hearing is fabricated and lack substance. It's well orchestrated to give Amaechi a bad name.
Ikuru was instructed on what to do and that was it. If wike has further questions, he should direct it to ikuru.
Transition committee isn't a must. Was there one when Amaechi was about to take over? There wasn't yet he performed excellently well. It's silly for wike to continue to shout about amaechi not handing over to him directly

I don't think there is any other governor in any of the states that did not follow due process in handing over government to his
successor. Amaechi should be investigated, he is a disgrace to the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Buhari must use a very long spoon to dine with him, he is a devil.

The former governor debunked claims that he failed to submit handover notes to his successor’s administration.

“There is no truth in this as all commissioners and heads of MDA’s submitted their handover notes to the Secretary to State Government who forwarded same to the Head of the State Civil Service as is appropriate,” he said.

“Governor Amaechi also directed the Deputy Governor of Rivers State Engr. Tele Ikuru to be the liaison between the outgoing administration and the incoming one. Engr. Ikuru as Deputy Chairman of the state Executive Governor and second man in government had all facts necessary to brief the incoming administration. He also had unfettered access to government house and to every commissioner and head of Ministry Department or Agency.”

If wike still have any question, he should ask Ikuru who was mandated by his boss to coordinate things.
For records sake, some governors were not present during handoverr. Jigawa for instance travelled out of the country a week before handover and didnt come back for handover . No law mandates such and its no offence.
Besides, Amaechi didnt travel out, he went to witness the swearing in of the commander in chief having played a significant role. His deputy was around to oversee things at home

“The Projects included generation (Omoku and Trans-Amadi 1), transmission and distribution interventions. Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi on assumption of office recognized the importance of improved electric power supply in the socio-economy regeneration of the State.

“At the time Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi assumed office, of the 350 Megawatts (MW) total capacity generation assets invested by the State, only 70MW (equivalent to about 20 per cent) was available. With enthusiasm, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi ramped up the efficiency to 77 per cent availability including injecting another 360MW Green Field Generation Project at Afam, of which 180MW have been commissioned and is in commercial operation.

“To mitigate the swing in efficiency and its debilitating impact on the economy, the State Government sought private sector operators and sold 70 per cent equity stake in the power generating assets’ company to NG Power HPS. For the transaction, the State Government adopted the same model as the Federal Government in the sale Egbin Power Plant. The sale was at a price per MW higher than all the privatization MW rate done by the Federal Government.

“The proceeds from sale of the equity in the power generating assets’ company was captured as income in the 2014 Appropriation Law and deployed into funding capital projects as appropriated.”

70% was sold and they followed the same FG template. Funds accrued from it was budgeted for and utilised for the betterment of rivers people.

Anytime I see a post like this I can't help but think the op of this topic is a fool!!! This same Amechi has not paid his workers in this case corpers who served as teachers in his schools, the last time he paid them was 3years ago, these are people who collect 10k for their services to the state and they work and teach the students without any sort of recognition from the state government.if you do the maths 3 years at 3 batches a year is equal to 6 batches!!! Who have not been paid 1 kobo,
Amechi has stolen our money 110,000.00 naira for each Corper for the past 3 years, op do the maths!!!

Amaechi stopped paying corpers about three years ago because its not a must to do so. Check the NYSC statues and u will discover that employers of corpers arent bound to pay and to those that pay its simply out of their magnanimity and not a must. Before then, he was paying as at when due but when income starts dwindling significantly, he needed to set his priorities right. there is no way he will be owning pensions and salaries and he will be paying corpers who already have been paid by their primary employer -FG.
He stole no money, instead he diverted the funds to much more important things in the state.

Even Akwa Ibom they cry. Pensioners there are also being owned and not all contractors have been paid. Besides, by the time Amaechi was going in May, April salaries have started twinkling in despite huge deduction in income. Please go back and read the opening post.

Mr. Amaechi said that some of the completed roads were federal roads for which the state government was owed N108 billion.

“Mr. Wike as Minister of State for Education was among those who prevented former President Goodluck Jonathan from paying the Rivers State Government back these funds,” said Mr. Amaechi.

“It is on record that other states like Akwa Ibom and Abia received repayment for the federal roads they constructed. As at when Governor Amaechi was leaving office, the debts owed the contractors in the Ministry of Works, which were for ongoing road projects totaled N44, 942, 354, 44.10.”

On the salaries of civil servants, Mr. Amaechi stated that they received their March salaries while payment for April salaries had commenced by the time his administration was winding down.
