The La Resurrezione Statue


In the middle of the stage sits a statue of Christ rising from an atomic apocalypse. It was designed by Pericle Fazzini and put in place by 1977. Have a look at it below. Do you notice anything about Jesus’ head?

Now let’s pull it together a bit more so we can really see what we are looking at. In the image below, really pay attention to the whole building and stage layout next to the image of a snake. The eyes, the shape, the scales, the fangs, the look and feel of the reptile… it’s all there

All of a sudden we begin to see things taking shape here — two reptilian eyes, staring at you as you observe the stage.

Have a look again at the image above — what do you notice down the centre? There stands what looks to be a statue in the middle and then on either side, two sharp, pointed fangs. The building’s roof and sides also resemble scales.

Maybe looking at one window on its own isn’t the most clear, so let’s have a look at both of them together now.

Windows

As you can already begin to see in the image above, there are two windows on either side of the building that resemble eyes. They are made of stained glass and sit about halfway through the building’s length on either side.

In the centre of the eye shape, you begin to see a slit that could resemble a reptile eye. If you’re not convinced yet, which is understandable, keep reading

The simple curvature of the building might seem unassuming from the outside, but this is part one of what we will begin to explore about this building, and I promise you, by the time we get to the end, you will see what I’m getting at.

Have a look at the image below and compare its shape to the image of a snake beside it. Note the overall shape — wide back, narrow, rounded front, eyes in the middle, nostril at the front, and curved top.

When I first realized the true magnitude of what the Pope’s Audience Hall design reveals, I was shocked. Despite 10 years of research into the elite, occult, Illuminati, consciousness, and more, this stuck out as something I just HAD to write about.

If the rumors of a 520M Naira Zuma Jacob statue unveiled by Rochas Okorocha In Imo state is anything to go by in such a time when the state government is owing civil servants months of salaries, then it means we have very insensitive and clueless demons as leaders in the corridors of power.

I've been really trying hard to decipher the economic importance or significance this waste of a statue will have in the state of Imo. The most annoying part of this saga is that of all renowned men in world, Rochas chose Zuma, an epitome of corruption in South Africa.

Developing on the foregoing, I think there is urgent need to create laws that will compel government to prioritize workers' salaries with whatever resources in her custody before embarking on any white elephant expenses as the Zuma statue.

Firstly, let me unequivocally state that I am not a fan of T. B. Joshua or any other 'man of God' out there. Whether they were called or flashed by God is a story for another day!!!

I'll try my best to be pricised while heating the nail at its head on this.

According to John 1:1-5, Jesus is mentioned as being God. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. This passage clearly identified Jesus as God.

the writer of the book of Hebrews revealed that even GOD THE FATHER referred to Jesus as God after exalting him (JESUS) above the angels.

Jesus was not only referred to as God but also as MIGHTY GOD hundreds of years before his birth by prophet Isaiah.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

In revelation he was referred to as ALMIGHTY. Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. this passage talked about Jesus because according to the Christian faith he is the one '... which is to come...' back to the world to redeem his people and not God the Father.

With the above passage as well as numerous others not mentioned, somebody should Educate this moslem cleric and advise him to concentrate his energy on defending Mohammed. It is not the fault of Christians that Koran fail to call Mohammed God or Satan.

Response to The Guardian of U.K.

My attention has been drawn to a report in the Guardian of the U.K. alleging that the former Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan rebuffed efforts by the British military to rescue the kidnapped Chibok Girls sometime in 2014.

Nothing could be further from the truth and to prove that this story from the Guardian is untrue, the international community will recall that when a Boko Haram affiliate kidnapped a Briton and an Italian, Chris McManus and Franco Lamolinara, from Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi state of Nigeria, then President Jonathan personally authorized British Special Forces from the British Military Special Boat Service, to attempt a rescue mission in Sokoto state on the 8th of March, 2012 a full two years before the Chibok Girls Saga.

The British Military sent boots to the ground and these troops were given full and unhindered cooperation by both the then Nigerian government and the Nigerian military.

This already shows that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had set a precedence of allowing British Military Forces operate in Nigeria to rescue hostages. This proves that not only is The Guardian story untrue, but it was not well researched. Why would then President Jonathan approve that operation and rebuff the other? The story from The Guardian is built on a foundation of lies.

This is however not surprising since The Guardian stated that it was relying not on its own investigation but on second hand hearsay reportage from The Observer.

The international community is reminded that it is public knowledge that then President Goodluck Jonathan wrote letters to the trio of then US President, Barack Obama, then British Prime Minister, David Cameron and French President, François Hollande, asking them for precisely what The Guardian says he refused, help in rescuing the Chibok Girls.

The international community is reminded that so eager was the then Nigerian President to rescue the girls that he personally approved for these foreign governments to fly over Nigerian airspace in order to identify the location of the Chibok Girls.

Not only did Dr. Goodluck Jonathan welcome foreign intervention, he was also the prime mover in the Multi National Joint Task Force involving Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria and authorized the military forces of those nations to fight Boko Haram on Nigeria soil. If President authorized the military forces of these nations to operate against terrorists in Nigeria, why would he refuse similar assistance from Nigeria's international partners?

And to Lai Mohammed, Nigeria's current minister of information (if he can be so called) who said:

"After the girls were kidnapped and the Jonathan Administration did nothing for all of 15 days or make any determined efforts to rescue them thereafter, our party, the then opposition APC, told the nation several times that the whole Boko Haram crisis was allowed to escalate by the PDP-controlled Federal Government so they can use it as a political tool ahead of the 2015 elections."

My response to his lies is as follows. Opinions are subjective but facts are sacred. The facts are that then President Jonathan immediately sprung to action to rescue the kidnapped Chibok Girls and it was precisely the fallacious Lai Mohammed, whose words I caution the international community to take with a pinch of salt, that attempted to frustrate the efforts by the then government to rescue the girls.

Below are a factual timelines with dates, names and location. I challenge Lai Mohammed to rebut them with his own facts:

Timelines:

March 12, 2014: The then minister of state for education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, wrote the Governors of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa and advised them not to hold the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations in areas susceptible to the Boko Haram insurgency. This letter had the reference number HMSE/FME/147/VOL.1/150 and the subject: 'Security challenges and the conduct of the 2014 WASSCE and SSCE in Borno, Yobe and parts of Adamawa States'.

The Governors of Yobe and Adamawa acknowledged the letter and cooperated with the then Peoples Democratic Party led Federal Government to bus students to secure locations to write their scheduled school leaving examinations.

April 14, 2014: Contrary to the advise given by the Peoples Democratic Party led Federal Government of President Goodluck Jonathan, the All Progressive Congress led Government of Governor Kashim Shettima, for reasons best known to it, chose to ignore that advise and held the WASSCE examinations in Chibok, a mainly Christian town that was susceptible to attacks from the Islamic extremist group, Boko Haram. On the day in question, the girls of Government Girls Secondary School Chibok were kidnaped by Boko Haram while preparing to write their final physics examinations.

Curiously, both the Principal of the school and her Vice were not on the school's campus as the girls were inside a dormitory.

The Principal of the school, Hadjiya Asabe Kwambura, later claimed to have gone to Maiduguri for a 'medical check up' on the day of the abduction. It seemed very inauspicious for a principal of a school to schedule a non emergency 'medical check up' for a time when the school she presided over was having perhaps its most important activity of the year, school leaving examinations.

This same woman later changed her story when she told Fox News that she had gone to Maiduguri to buy medicines and was informed by her daughter about the kidnap. But how did her daughter, a student of the school, avoid being kidnapped?

It is noteworthy that this particular principal was never reprimanded or disciplined or in anyway made to take responsibility for this obvious dereliction of duty by the Borno state government who owns the school.

Flash forward to April 2, 2016: Governor Kashim Shettima confessed in an interview with Premium Times that he, the chief security officer of the state, DID NOT inform then President Jonathan when the girls were kidnapped for reasons best known to him.

April 17, 2014: Exactly three days after the kidnap, President Jonathan who had not been formally informed of the issue because of the deliberate refusal of the APC led government of Borno state to brief him called for an emergency meeting at the Presidential villa after the military independently alerted him.

Multiple dates in April, 2004: The military, principally the air force, were given conflicting information as to what direction the fleeing terrorists took when they captured the girls. Were these conflicting information a deliberate effort to send the military on a wild goose chase?

Flash Forward to January 6, 2017: One of the Chibok girls who escaped from her captors granted an interview to the New York Times and revealed that they were not taken to Sambisa Forest by the terrorists as previously thought. According to her testimony, they were rather taken to the Borno state capital of Maiduguri and kept at a house there for months.

Flash Forward to January 11, 2017: Chibok Community leader, Pastor Bulus Baba, in an interview with local media corroborated the New York Times report and said even after they left Maiduguri they were moved to another town and kept in the home of an influential local politician. According to him:

"The girls said, they spent over 8 months in Gwoza local government area along with other abducted women. They said they were kept at a resident of one of the top politicians in that local government area until at a point when a fighter jet dropped bomb that touch part of the house killing some of the girls.”

May 2, 2014: Then President Jonathan sets up a fact finding mission to determine the facts of the kidnap and stresses that the mission's work would not interfere with search and rescue efforts.

May 2, 2014: Frustrated by the school's authorities to come clean with accurate information about the identities of the missing girls, the Christian Association of Nigeria released the names of the kidnapped girls for the first time.

May 3, 2014: Charles Eguridu, head of the West African Examination Council's National Office in Nigeria revealed in testimony broadcast live on national television that WAEC had asked the Borno state Governor not to hold examinations at Chibok due to safety issues, but that Governor Shettima, in writing, had assured WAEC that he would provide adequate security for Chibok, a promise he did not keep. According to Mr. Eguridu:

"The Borno state government also refused to relocate the students from Chibok to safer places like Maiduguri. “Borno state government only agreed to relocate the remaining 189 pupils after the abduction of the girls."

Talk about medicine after death.

May 4, 2014: After consistent confused and contradictory information from the Borno state Government and various other authority figures, the Presidency invited the principal actors in the Chibok saga to the Presidential villa to ascertain the truth. The Presidency was shocked at the non appearance by officials of the Borno state government. The governor's wife who was invited shunned the event and when the then First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan saw the scanty representation from Borno she famously exclaimed 'na only you waka come'?

May 5, 2014: many residents of Gamboru Ngala were killed by Boko Haram forces after troops stationed there left that town to go to the Sambisa forest area closest to Chibok town to look for the missing girls. The precision behind the arrival by Boko Haram just as the troops left the town gave rise to strong suggestions that the terrorists were tipped off by a mole.

May 6, 2014: The then National Publicity Secretary of the APC and now the current minister of information, Lai Mohammed, released a statement calling the Presidency's intervention a 'distraction'.

May 6, 2014: In response to a request by the Nigerian Government for help, then United States President, Barack Obama announced that the US was dispatching personnel into the area to help search for the missing girls.

May 9, 2014: Nigeria welcomed experts from the United States and the United Kingdom to help search for the girls.

May 11, 2014: Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima tells the local and international media the girls had "been sighted". In view of later testimony by the released girls that they had initially been kept in Maiduguri, Shettima's accounts now elicit more suspicion especially as Boko Haram released a video a day after the revelation by Governor Shettima.

May 12, 2014: Boko Haram releases a video purporting to be of the Chibok girls. However, in that video, the girls do not look terrified and one of them is shown distracted as she appears to be sending a text or making a call on her mobile phone which was visible to the camera. This video is still publicly available on YouTube. Giving the testimony that they were held in Maiduguri the state capital before being taken to Gwoza, how could this video have been shot in day light without attracting some attention?

May 26, 2014: The Nigerian military revealed through Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, that it knew the location of the girls but could not attack because of fear of loss of lives of the girls after a similar operation in Sokoto to save an Italian and a Briton led to loss of lives of the hostages taken by an affiliate of Boko Haram.

Unspecified Date in May 2014: The Jonathan administration began secret negotiations to secure the release of the Chibok girls.

September 7, 2014: In an interview with foremost Northern Nigeria daily, Leadership Newspaper, some of the parents of the kidnapped girls alleged that the entire saga was a conspiracy. In that interview, a Chibok parent, Bulama Jonah, said:

“We still believe that there was an internal collaboration in the abduction of our daughters by the Boko Haram gunmen, because we have correct information that some of the teachers, who are very senior in the school, managed to move their own daughters and family out of the school premises before the attack. “That is why we are insisting that (the Borno state) government must provide our daughters and we would not take it lightly if they don’t produce our girls for us. The girls were in their custody, because school premises belong to government; and we believe they were aware of the attack but failed to provide security for them.”

October 6, 2014: Then President Jonathan visits Niamey as part of efforts to secure the release of the Chibok girls with the help of the Nigerien government.

October 15, 2014: During the Presidential Declaration by then candidate Muhammadu Buhari, now the incumbent President, Audu Ogbeh, at that time the Director General of the campaign (he was later replaced) said on live Television that the pressure group Bring Back our Girls, led by a virulent critic of the Jonathan administration, Oby Ezekwesili, lso said that the #BBOG campaign is led by “members of our party, the APC.” This is an exact quote and reflects the politicization of the saga.

Flash Forward to July 12, 2016: President Muhammadu Buhari appoints Bring Back our Girls co-founder, Ms. Hadiza Bala Usman, as the head of Nigeria's largest and perhaps most profitable parastatal, the Nigerian Ports Authority. Many consider this as a reward to Ms. Usman and a corroboration of the "members of our party, the APC" comment of Chief Audu Ogbeh.

October 17, 2014: A truce was announced with Boko Haram after negotiations which was to allow for the release of the Chibok girls. The truce was broken by Boko Haram who reneged on their promise to release their captives.

From the above, it is clear that Nigeria's minister of information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has an estranged relationship with the truth.

WHY GIRLS ARE DUMPED.
Don't do the right thing at the wrong time and don't do the wrong thing at the right time. Do the right thing at the right time.
When a man sees a girl or a young woman who is attractive to him for personal reasons, he does everything in the world to achieve familiarity with her.
This familiarity can be either for a relationship that will lead to marriage or a relationship that will only lead and end in sexual intercourse.
In a society like ours where premarital sex is celebrated, in a society like ours where moral is rooted in depravity and destitute, most men cherish their status in the lost of memory of women slept with, most men are only interested in the numbers of women they had canal knowledge of.
What most women don't know is, there is time for everything. The first thing a man is suppose to have immediately after familiarizing himself with a woman isn't sex. Most men who had sex with a woman earlier than expected will love to dump the woman for another one.
After all, what most of these men want to see is the unclothedness of the woman after having a nice bang on her. So if they achieve their aim, why won't they dump the girl when there are one million and one girls out there waiting to be banged as new victims?.
Girls do a lot of things which they are not suppose to do. Why do they have sex with a man as soon as they met him?. Why do they act hard to get just for them to be cheaper than ice water in no distant time?. Why do they allow a man to bang them when they are not sure of his stand?. Why do they allow themselves to be banged and roughly handled at dark unreasonable places?. Why do they do these and many more and still expect themselves not to be used and dumped?.
A man who can't respect your body won't marry you. A man who keeps clubbing you out, banging you out and also roughening every part of your body at all times, may call it love, such wild love stipulates how disrespectful he is to your body, and that does not show hope for a true and humble matrimonial journey.
At the very end, that same man who had the all of you, will so journey to a village and pick an innocent girl for marriage. Marriage is different from a boy/girl relationship, a man will want to make fun with a wild, bad and loose girl, but when the time for marriage comes, he goes for something homely, decent and responsible.
Before a sister realized it, she has been throughly used and dumped in the desperate bid to catch fun with men.

OKA ORI (BABY'S SOFT SPOT)
I was a fresh medical graduate when one of my aunt told me about her neighbour’s new born child that died of what Yoruba call ‘oka ori’, someone told me it is called "ndawa isi" in Ibo. Someone should tell me the Hausa name. She thereafter asked me what ‘oka ori’ means in medical terms (being a doctor now). Although as naïve as I was then with no practical experience, I ensured I was professional about my answer, I never heard of it before but I knew it sounded like one of those shared myths…

Since I started practicing, I came across few mothers that don’t bother asking for the meaning of ‘oka ori’, they have been handed the standard diagnosis of "Oka" by the grannies or neighbours stat. Their own question is whether they should give "agbo oka" that is native concoction or herbal remedies for the "Oka". Another category of mums have gone beyond that and have started the treatment for "Oka"; how will you know? Once you see a new baby with clean shaven head and sticky blackish substance applied to the scalp toward the front, you are seeing a child undergoing treatment for "Oka". Therefore majority don’t even know what or where the ‘oka ori’ is, but I could deduce from their history to likely referring to either the soft spot (sunken or bulging) on their baby’s head or cranial sutures.

Fast forward to when I gave birth, I was told my child has oka ori after the hair was shaved; will therefore needs concoction; I just laughed and told them politely that my baby has nothing like ‘oka ori’, although it’s hard to correct a widespread shared myth, but my child never took any concoction. My curiousity made me asked what exactly is oka ori, it was the obvious cranial suture that was pointed at…

I therefore concluded in my mind that, for me to correct the shared myth about ‘oka ori’, I need to discuss both the ‘soft spot(anterior fontannelle) and the cranial sutures’.

If you are not from Nigeria, you may be lost from the title alone. The typical Naija Mum knows what I am talking about, especially if you are from the South-Western part of the country, specifically the Yoruba tribe.

So what is this "Oka"?
The Grannies and some mums believe that there is a "hole" or "space" which is "breathing" or pulsating in the head of the new baby which is abnormal. That this soft space is not right and should not be there. Any baby that has this "abnormal space or hole" is diagnosed with "Oka". Some also believe obvious cranial sutures in associated with the hole or space breathing is a serious case of ‘oka’.

For fat, hairy babies, the "hole" is not so apparent and often ignored. However, in smaller babies who are also not gaining weight or perhaps losing weight especially in the 1st ten days of life, the space is very prominent and can even be sunken; such babies are easily labeled as having "Oka" and commenced on all forms of treatment ranging from application of substances on the scalp to drinking herbal remedies. There are lots of myths and beliefs surrounding this "Oka".

So why am I talking about "Oka"?
In addition to my encounter with ‘oka ori’, there was a story shared by a paediatrican. She said during her residency training to become a Paediatrician, she was working at the Children Emergency Room (CHER) at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital when two women rushed in with a baby crying. That is not unusual in CHER. What was terrifying about the day was when she saw the baby rushed in, he was about 2 - 3 months old and for the first time, she was seeing the brain live and direct in a living person who was not being operated. This was not a movie scene! The brain of this baby was completely visible to everyone. What happened?
In the usual fashion, the grandma who came for "omugwo" had made a diagnosis of "Oka" and has prescribed the traditional treatment which was coating the surface with a black material. Unfortunately, in this scenario, whatever substance was applied was so caustic, it eroded (burnt) away the membrane of the anterior frontanelle and you can see the baby's brain live and direct!!! Of course, this was disastrous....for baby, mother and grandma and even the doctors.

That is why I feel like educating people around me especially mums about this traditional myths and beliefs that are dangerous to children's health. Of course, granny did not mean to harm her precious grandson but she did anyway. That baby had to undergo brain surgery. Of course, he had serious infection of the brain even before and after surgery. Though he did not die, but there are long-term complications he will face all because of someone's ignorance. No wonder, ignorance is more expensive than education.

FACTS TO KNOW ABOUT "OKA"

1. An infant’s skull is made up of six separate cranial (skull) bones:
- Frontal bone
- Occipital bone
- Two parietal bones
- Two temporal bones
These bones are held together by strong, fibrous, elastic tissues called SUTURES.

Two fontanelles usually are present on a newborn’s skull:
- On the top of the middle head, just forward to center (ANTERIOR FONTANELLE) – usually closes between 18 & 24 months. During childbirth, it let the skull changes its shape so that the fetus can easily pass through the birth canal.
- In the back of the middle of the head (POSTERIOR FONTANELLE) – usually closes earlier than the fontanelle

2. Therefore, the "soft hole or space" often erroneously believed to be an abnormality is A NORMAL PART of the baby's head. It is called ANTERIOR FONTANELLE (AF). Every baby has it. It is there to allow along with the small spaces (sutures) between the different bones of the skull to accommodate the baby's brain growth. So it is not "OKA" or any other thing....It is a normal part of the baby's head.

3. The anterior fontanelle (AF) is covered by a membrane, and this membrane is what actually separates the baby's brain from the environment. It is that important! So any application of substances that can damage this membrane will lead to exposure of the brain to the environment with serious consequences like in the story above.

4. The fact that in some babies, very hairy or chubby especially, that you can not see it pulsating or "breathing" in local naija parlance does not mean it is not there. Some mums have actually said their babies do not have anterior fontanelle! That is not true....every baby is born with one!

5. Clinically, AF is very important, it usually give a clue of what is going on in the baby's system therefore treatment should be towards cause of distortion of the AF not aiming to close or treat Oka ori(AF).

6. The size and shape of the AF varies from one baby to another normally. In some conditions, it can be too big. Also the anterior fontannelle can be elevated "bulging" in some conditions especially if the baby has infections in the brain. It can be depressed "sunken" in other conditions like in babies that are very dehydrated or malnourished.

8. You did not need to apply oil to the AF hourly or daily....highly unnecessary and the dripping oil will cause rashes on the baby's face. The AF is not "drying up" like many naija mums believe. You also do not need to put thread from cloth. You also do not need to mop AF with hot water or apply any substances local or herbal on it. JUST LEAVE THE AF ALONE!!!

9. Finally if your baby is sick with or without observed changes in the AF, please go to the Hospital immediately. Don't assume and don't accept the "OKA" diagnosis. Please see your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. A stitch in time saves nine!

Before ECOMOG Intervention in Gambia: Let's Count Our Losses

The Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group, ECOMOG are set to be deployed to forcibly dethrone President Yayah Jammeh of Gambia who is seating tight in office despite losing the last Presidential Election to his rival, Adama Barrow, after 22years in office.

Yahya Jammeh now 51, took power by military coup at just 29years of age as a young Army Captain in July 22, 1994 and later converted to a civilian president in lopsided democratic arrangement. With a population of 2million people, the entire Gambian military strength is less than 4,000men ,which is just the size of four or five battalions in Nigerian Army not even up to a Garrison. Hence, taking Gambia should not last a section of 2 Mechanised Division, Ibadan more than two weeks even without any support from sister divisions. But at what cost?

Economically, it is unfair to the Nigerian tax payer to start losing millions of dollars everyday taking care of troupes and sustaining The Gambian government and people for at least two years and in the upkeep of our troupes on the foreign mission. Knowing how ECOWAS member states including Ghana often end up leaving all the financial and military responsibilities to Nigeria alone. The cowardice of Ghanaian troupes in various ECOMOG operations especially in Liberia and Sierra Leone and their traitorous withdrawals are a story for another day. Remember Nigeria is still in recession and every million dollar spent out there may represent more job losses and deepened economic hardship back home!

Diplomatically, Yahya Jammeh is a lover of Nigeria and anything Nigeria. He believes a lot in the competence of Nigerian Engineers, Doctors, and professionals even at the expense of Western expatriates. Here is a man who believes in us more than we believe in ourselves. Nigerian expatriate engineers are his first choice. In fact, The Chief Judge of The Gambia is a Nigerian of Yoruba tribe. Before we lose all that goodwill, let's think deeply. Remember how Liberians turned around to hate Nigeria and Nigerians despite all the sacrifices made for peace in that country after ECOMOG intervention! Even if he leaves eventually, there is no guarantee that his successor will not become a dictator too, who might see Nigeria as a threat whenever he wishes to perpetuate himself in office thereby resort in treating Nigerians in that country harshly. The Gambian constitution has no tenure limit. Before we subject Nigerians to outcast status in that country let's think beyond the superficial and seek more diplomatic means of seeing Jammeh off.

In terms of human lives, the rangers and infantry boys being deployed by our military are not humanoids or dummies. They are people's children, husband, fathers, and brothers with blood flowing in their veins like you and I. That they took oath of supreme sacrifice doesn't mean they should die avoidably. We must place premium values on the lives of our soldiers. The US Army doesn't like losing men anyhow that's why at the dropping of two or three men, intense air raids take over. We just lose men over here like we have a factory that is manufacturing and recycling them. Our ground forces today are not as tactically and physically fluid and invisible like they were 20years ago. Let's tell ourselves the truth. The Real NAs are all retired without adequate transition. As a little Barack boy in the 1990s, I had many young soldier friends that I knew back who went to Liberia and Sierra Leone who didn't make it back or who absconded or who aren't completely okay again. We must think of the widows and the attendant issues. All these big brother diplomacy we practice should have limit. Even Obasanjo couldn't declare how many soldiers Nigeria lost in Liberia because he was too afraid of how Nigerians will react. That 500 men thing is far from the truth when even almost 300 were lost in some single battles alone. I wouldn't forget that horrible day The Mano River turned red. Nigerians must speak up against military action in Gambia because it's needless. Even if we win, lives will definitely be lost. WHY NO IGBO PERSON WOULD EVER BE A SUICIDE BOMBER

A natural Igbo man is a born rebel even to his own God. The stubbornness of the Igbo to their various deities and to even the christian God is very legendary if not more defiant than that of any other race I know.

Igbo's continuous worship of a deity or a supernatural force is chiefly based on the deity's performance and not entirely out of fear.

Therefore, it's a common saying in Igbo land that "Arusi nyebe nsogbo egosi ya osisi ejiri pia ya" meaning that "if a deity becomes unreasonable, it will be told the wood from which its symbol was carved".

It is an age-long practice in Igboland to "dis-god" a deity by a general consensus or acclamation in a properly constituted meeting of all members or the natural representatives of a village or town .

Once a sentence of "no more worship" or "sack" is passed on a deity in a general meeting of the worshippers or citizens of a community, the shrine of the dis-goded deity is destroyed and the deity is expected to take flight and leave the community.

The same goes for the evil forests owned by powerful deities.

Nnewi people capture this with a saying that "o bu madu siri Edo nwelu Nkwo" meaning " that Edo deity owns Nkwo market land and the adjoining thick forest was because it was so given by Nnewi people" and that the same citizens could as well repossess their property from the deity at anytime if they so wish.

Edo is the supreme and most powerful deity of the Nnewi people.

The power of the Igbo in abridging the influence of their gods was proven in the 1980s at Nnewi, when the town agreed to clear the dreaded Edo evil forest to build the Agbo Edo International Market.

The initial attempts by the state government's contractors to clear the forest were resisted and frustrated by the deity as powerful snakes, bees and mysterious birds openly chased the workers away even with their earth moving equipment. They were too hasty.

It wasn't until all the Ndi Isiobi (or village heads) led by the traditional ruler of the town, Igwe KON Orizu, assembled at the precinct of forest and announced to the deity, the decision of the Nnewi people to repossess their land, that the clearing of the forest became possible.

The Igwe symbolically felled a shrub and all other village heads followed suit, one after the other. By this single act, the supreme deity had been properly served a notice of repossession. Edo had to comply.

The contractor who was asked to commence clearing after this important ritual was surprised that none of those dangerous animals or spiritual soldiers opposed or harmed their workers until the entire evil forest was cleared and a modern market erected.

There is a long list of many deities in Igbo land sacked for either demanding more expensive sacrifices or acting against the interests of the general populace or their worshippers.

It is noteworthy that no one person, not even the chief priest of a deity can summarily sack or de-god a community deity. Due process must be followed. There must be a consensus otherwise the action is severely punished by the deity itself.

Many ignorant converts of new religions have gone mad or their children seriously afflicted because they single-handedly destroyed shrines of their community gods or appropriated property belonging to a deity without first securing the permission of the family or community members.

Igbo men and women wonder how a deity, called God or Allah would expect mere humans to help it punish its enemies. Such abdication of duty by a supreme being is incomprehensible to an Igbo man or woman.

In Igbo land, a deity worth its reverence or worship, demonstrates its ability to fight its own battles. Why would an entity be worshipped if it relies on a man to subdue human beings or elements to its glory?

The tested power to strike dead (as Amadioha deity does) or bloating the stomach of offenders (as Udo deity does) are the marketing tools employed by the Igbo deities to awe their worshippers.

It is by routing miserable diseases and misfortunes on enemies and showing instant justice to the supplicants that the obeisance, trust and greater worship are obtained from Igbo followers of a spiritual being.

Igbos believe that the job of a drummer should be separated from that of a dancer. Hence, they would never obey the instruction from any deity that asks them to the beat drums and at the same time expect them to do the dancing. A god should fight its own popularity fight.

For an Igbo, it smacks of a high fraud for a spiritual being to recruit him or her to kill and coerce unbelievers to worship it when simple miracles or signs and wonders which should be the hallmarks of such a deity, Allah or God, can do the job.

If an Igbo man must kill a fellow human being, it is must be for an earthly gain or an instant benefit, not for a reward that would be received elsewhere.

This is the belief of the Igbos; the very same reason why they fear no human authority because by their nature they can and do fearlessly disinherit, banish and even sack their own gods.

If you are in search of a suicide bomber, count an Igbo out.

They see it as a spiritual fraud.

It was two years ago that I witnessed the most terrifying beating a man ever gave a woman. It was a fight between a husband and a wife. The four walls of the one apartment where they lived was unable to keep their wrestling prowess, so they ran into the street. The woman was running her mouth at the man. I was far from the woman to hear what she was calling the man. But the man who was the husband ran after her. Her attempt to escape was that of a goat that thought she would beat a lion in a race, as the man broke a bottle on the woman's head. Blood knew it was time to rush from the parted skull, and the woman started cursing the day she met the husband. I was among those who frowned at the man's display. I and other viewers retired to our homes, with the opinion that a woman shouldn't be beaten at any point, no matter what. But the truth is, there is no man who had ever admired beating a woman. No man who had his testes right would think of beating a woman. When they raised their hand on a woman was what they couldn't explain. Women are very provocative and annoying. Women have become problems as such that even men who sworn never to beat them, had lifted their hands at this time or that time against them without planning for it, this is because they were pushed to the wall by these women. And their anger overwhelmed them. A man who knew that a woman shouldn't be beaten, a man who had been preaching against beating a woman had surprised everyone by slapping his wife into coma. This is another story. The man was busy polishing his black shoe and the wife stood very close to him, cursing and calling him names. We knew the man wouldn't exchange words with the wife. He once said that any man who sucked the mother's breast well, wouldn't dare exchanging words with mere women'. In fact, he was the best husband in the compound as regard to his philosophy on how to treat or handle women. But the wife didn't stop saying all sort of things. She was half way saying 'have you not slept with all the women in this compound?'. This was unbearable and lies. The anger was now ripe for harvest that the man didn't know how his right palm moved and gave the parrot he called a wife a slap. Surprisingly, the woman took two steps backwards and landed on the ground. That was not all. She started pumping up and down so restlessly, like a chicken for a sacrifice which the priest has torn out her head, leaving the dying body on the ground wrestling with the soil as she begged for air. Everyone knew where to take her, and that was hospital, perhaps. The man cried. We knew he wasn't a wife beater and that it was just a slap. We knew it was a mistake, for he wasn't the one to beat or slap a woman. We knew it was anger that came in. Life is teaching me that no man had rehearsed or planned his destiny to be that of a wife beater. Most men beat women not knowing, they are angry. It has been an old question. Should a man beat a woman and at what point?. If capital No is the answer. What makes women unbeatable?. What makes them unbeatable and stop to make them annoying and provocative?. Some people think that women shouldn't be beaten at all, no matter what. And yet, not even fewer people can bear the annoying and provocative nature of a woman. Some people believe that a woman should be slightly beaten and not heavily. Their mindset is, when you give a woman the impression that she won't be beaten. The next thing she does, will be to develop wings and start flying without perching. Perhaps there are other method of dealing with a woman apart from beating. But does it curb this annoying and provocative manners of theirs?. They said that real men don't beat women, so what do real women do?. No man wouldn't want to be real in this context. ABUJA—FOR scoring the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan below average, the Presidency Sunday took a swipe at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying his comments at an event, weekend, where he rated Jonathan’s performance “below average” were not only untrue, but also misleading. In a statement, last night in Abuja by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, the Presidency said former President Obasanjo’s comments do not in any way tally with the facts on ground, boasting that President Jonathan had performed more than Obasanjo and other presidents in Nigeria’s history. President Jonathan and Gen. Obasanjo (Rtd) President Jonathan and Gen. Obasanjo (Rtd) Okupe, who chronicled Jonathan’s achievements in all sectors such as aviation, industrialisation, railway, power, transportation and insurgency among others, said: “Our attention has been drawn to comments made by a former President of this country, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, regarding the performance of the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. We aver that Chief Obasanjo’s comments are untrue, misleading and clearly do not tally with the facts on the ground. No administration did as much as Jonathan “We, therefore, wish to assert without equivocation that in terms of performance and achievements, no administration since 1960 when Nigeria gained independence from Britain, has done as much as that of President Jonathan. Every discerning and unbiased Nigerian will definitely attest to this fact as the evidence stare all of us in the face. “Contrary to Chief Obasanjo’s position, the Federal Government under President Jonathan has performed excellently given the prevailing circumstances and resources available. An assessment of key sectors of national life under the Jonathan administration will definitely controvert Chief Obasanjo’s argument that President Jonathan has not performed well. “While it is true that Nigeria has been faced with incidents of insurgency and terrorism especially in the last few years, it is also true the Jonathan administration has successfully contained the initial wide-spread and limitless activities of the insurgents which were prevalent in 12 states of the North including the Federal Capital, Abuja. “While it is true that the present activities of the terrorists in the three North Eastern states have become more deadly in mindless killings, kidnappings and supposed territorial seizures, government has made giant diplomatic strides with our neighbouring countries in order to checkmate the criss-crossing of the insurgents. “The military and other security agents which have engaged the insurgents since inception have done a great job in spite of recent challenges. The truth of the matter, which we must know and accept, is that we have an internal enemy supported by internal and external resources waging a major warfare against our nation. We want to state that the government is doing everything possible in every area of engagement of this war and will certainly, sooner than later, Nigeria will overcome and win this war. Quality leadership “In spite of this war, however, and in view of the other giant strides and achievements recorded in other sectors, it beats the imagination that anyone would say that President Jonathan has performed below average in office. On the contrary, he has provided quality leadership and exemplary vision in transforming the Nigerian nation and giving hope to Africa’s most populous nation. “We assert that for a fact a lot has been done. We may not have reached the desired destination yet, but surely we are on the path to getting there. There is no doubt that by the time the Jonathan administration runs its full course, Nigeria would have moved further in its quest to join other world giants and the quality of life of Nigerians would have improved greatly. We will all have cause to continually give glory to God for bringing the Jonathan administration on board.” Giant strides in power supply On power, he said: “Before President Jonathan came on board as President of this country in 2010, Nigeria faced serious challenges with generation, distribution and transmission of power. Nigeria had challenges with both generation of power and the installed capacity to ensure effective power supply. As a matter of fact, the total amount of power generated nationwide stood at 2550 megawatts; today it is over 4,000 megawatts. “In terms of installed capacity, there has been remarkable improvement. In 2011, our installed capacity to generate electricity stood at 5,900 MW. By December 2013 it had increased to 6,953 MW. This impressive achievement was due to the completion of all the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) plants, which for reasons only he can explain, Chief Obasanjo had abandoned during his tenure. “The moribund state-run power corporation was successfully privatised by the Jonathan administration in a process highly rated and commended by the World Bank and other multilateral agencies for its high level of transparency and professionalism. “This was a very critical programme in solving our power problems which other administrations could not achieve for decades. Today, Nigeria is a recipient of billion-dollar foreign investment in the power sector which is the much needed elixir for a stable, sufficient and efficient power system. This feat cannot be an evidence of a below-average performance as painted by Chief Obasanjo.” Jonathan’s agricultural revolution In Agriculture, Okupe said: “Since President Goodluck Jonathan launched his transformation agenda in the agricultural sector, this most important sector which provides employment for over 70 per cent of the population has recorded unprecedented growth resulting from a number of reforms and innovations. The revolution the Jonathan administration has engineered has not only empowered millions of farmers in the country but has equally saved Nigeria billions of naira and dollars, which in times past had been lost to fertilizer racketeers and food importation. “Nigeria’s food production has expanded by 21 million metric tons; three million farm jobs have been created and more importantly, our import of food has declined by 38 per cent from N1.1 Trillion to N635 billion in 2013.” “Before the Jonathan administration came on board, major agricultural produce like cotton, sorghum and groundnut, which were the bedrock of the economy of northern Nigeria, were practically extinct. Considering the fact that Nigeria imported N500 billion worth of rice in 2011, no one was in doubt that a radical approach to the problem was needed. And this is exactly what has been happening. “In 2013 with the Federal Government providing leadership and direction, 14 new rice mills with capacity to process 240 metric tons of rice were set up by the private sector while in addition, a sum of 1.2 billion dollars was secured by the Federal Government to install 100 large scale rice processing mills to produce 2.1 million metric tons of rice annually. Today, Nigeria has reached an unprecedented 60 per cent sufficiency in rice production, a feat, which the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) recently described as capable of raising world rice output to a record high in the next 12 next months. Nigeria is already on its way to self-sufficiency in rice production as sizeable chunk of its 167 million populations are currently feeding on rice grown and processed locally. “This and other initiatives of the Federal Government have resulted in the creation of about two million new jobs among rural dwellers. The Federal Government has also implemented a Young Graduates Commercial Farmers Scheme, with the capacity to absorb 780,000 graduates in its first phase and provide an estimated four million jobs in the agricultural sector in the first year. “In the same vein, the Jonathan administration has restructured and recapitalized the Nigeria Agricultural Bank to provide loans to peasant farmers at single digit interest rates. This represented the most remarkable fund injection initiative ever undertaken by any government to empower rural peasant farmers and create wealth for rural dwellers. ‘’Export of dried cassava chips began in July 2012 and this represented the first time that Nigeria would achieve commercial scale export of dried chips, which will earn $136 million annually in foreign exchange. Also, improved cotton seedlings, which have been provided free of charge to farmers especially in the Northwest and Northeast geo-political zones, will result in the resuscitation of the upstream and downstream cotton/textile subsector. “Other impressive achievements by the Jonathan administration in the agricultural sector include: Ending 40 years of corruption in the fertilizer sector. The Old System of Government Direct Procurement and Distribution of Fertilizer was manifestly corrupt and led to annual incidence of “fertilizer scam” where less than 11 per cent of farmers received these fertilizers. Over N776 billion ($4.8 billion) was estimated to have been lost to corruption or an average of N26 billion ($162.5million) annually. The system displaced the private sector and Nigerian farmers lost dignity. Today, things are different. ‘’The administration has built a national database of 10.5 million farmers and increased participation in farming in every state of the federation; the launching of the Growth Enhancement Scheme (GES) programme, which has increased farmers’ getting fertilizers from 11 per cent before the programme to 92 per cent; delivering 1.3 million metric tons of fertilizer to farmers; making available 55,000 metric tons of improved seeds to farmers; making Nigeria the first country in Africa to deliver inputs to farmers at scale through e-wallet; reaching 2.5 million women farmers through e-Wallet by 2014 up 287 per cent from 2012; making Nigeria the biggest producer of cassava in the world; Rice Paddy Production has witnessed rapid increase; number of states growing rice in dry season rose from 10 in 2012 to 24 in 2013; six million farmers reached with improved varieties and two million hectares of additional rice cultivated; and we have reduced our wheat importation and increased export of cassava chips.”

How are you expecting them to smile or be happy when the injudicious and perfunctory attitude of the Jonathan led administration has brought them into this mess.
