See, nobody is impeccable, not even Obi himself, but come on, we are tired of leaders looting Nigeria's resources. Obi does not have that track record and that is why people are rooting for him.. The only thing his detractors continue to hold against him is the Pandora Papers and investing money into the businesses in which he has shares. These are nothing compared to the grand scale looting with impunity going on in the country right, left and centre. He is one of the few governors who left office without EFCC chasing him up and down.

African States desperately and prematurely jumped on Democracy without considering the fact that we are multi-ethnic society with multifaceted cultural inclination, now Democracy has caused more harm in the continent than any system of government. However, inasmuch as I applaud the revolutionaries, I am worried that the fundamentally corrupt ideology will continue with these new crop of leaders. I haven't seen much difference in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger etc.

Oyo Empire wasn't and isn't a Democratic society. No Nigerian Pre-Colonial society practiced Democracy. While the Igbos, Tiv, Idoma, Anang etc practiced Non Centralized system which could be fondly called Republican, the likes of Oyo, Sokoto, Benin etc were purely Monarchical.

PS: Britain practiced Parliamentary system of government, not Democracy, and that was why Nigeria started with Parliamentary system of Government immediately after the Independence before the coup.

This is logical reasoning, just that the context is a bit misleading. Let's say you asked your girlfriend to come cook for you then she refused, you tell that another person will, realistically, she won't think if your brother or father will do the cooking as the another person, her instincts will tell her that it's another girl, which she's largely correct.
