prymesolution: Aren't we the dregs of the earth! Yes she is racist, but did we not bring it on ourselves? After years of independence, most of our countries are as rudderless as ever. We cannot even feed ourselves or fight any disease without White people's intervention. I am angry but not at her but at we Africans of all shades and background! When will we decide to take our destiny into our hands. The moment an African man/woman and his/her family is doing OK, who care about the rest of the race. That is the kind of attitude that almost always send us down the bottom of the rung! Jews, Latinos, Italians will get into a place and form institutions that will lift fellow nation's people up, but what do we do, as long as my family is doing well who care for other black people. It is simply a shame on our race!

You're exactly where racist whites want you with such self blame/self hate post. They want you blaming yourself for your condition as if their invisible hands are not to blame.

Black consciousness is the antidote to white supremacy.

Politics / Re: But What Is So Special About Mandela? by demmy(m): 3:14pm On Dec 07, 2013
godspeed: No doubts this question will get me some knocks but sincerely I just can't figure what makes this man so special.
is it cos he went to jail for 27 years? or are people crediting him for the fall of apartheid?

He went to jail for a cause, that is commendable but should that single handedly turn him into a global hero the world has suddenly turned him to?What happened to the nationalist who forced the imperialists out of Africa why are they not celebrated by the whole world like mandela?

Others have gone to jail too or even murdered for a cause they believed but not everyone of them gets the hero status mandela is getting.

While most of us are aware the world once saw Mandela
as a terrorist, we’re probably not clear on how deep that
goes. Put simply, if it wasn’t for Mandela, there wouldn’t
have been a military wing of the ANC. Since it was the
military wing that would later target civilians with a bomb
deadlier than the recent Boston attacks , this is actually a
big deal. Bear in mind, the military wing was founded in
response to the Sharpeville Massacre , when armed police
opened fire on protestors, killing 69. Nonetheless, at
least two of the ANC’s attacks targeted innocent
civilians , with fatal results. And such an idiotic action
should never be forgiven.

So who is paying you?

You obviously don't know how the MRI scan works! It doesn't measure true age per se. It measures bone development as a proxy for age. And because these guys in Africa don't develop at the same pace as Europeans for dietary reasons, they would probably still pass the MRI equivalent of a European 17 years old at say 19-23 years.

However, this team is the youngest U-17 team I have witnessed Nigeria present at any tournament and I have been watching since Scotland 1989.

You know this but the FIFA people don't?

So, there was Nigeria before the Northern and Southern protectorate were amalgamated?

The country is always there. It became a unified property of the Royal Niger Company in 1914 and named Nigeria (don't be fool by the name) for easy exploitation and to protect it from the French and German properties that surrounded it. Same with the USA. They only celebrate independent and don't care about the colonial America which was just a property of the British monarch.

You need to be banned from this section cuz you have proved yourself to lack the basics of politics. How can a state be sovereign and still be dependent on another state ? A sovereign state must have a clear cut territorial boundary, her own indigenious constitution and government , her own military to protect her territorial integrity and most importantly, a PRESIDENT which is the most significant authority of a sovereign state

Now ask yourself if Nigeria possessed any of those qualities as at 1914. Sooner or later, you too will be aspiring to be a mod here. SMH

What he lack is proper education. His education is funded by the Ford Foundation and others whose purpose is to mis-educate the average African about the reality.

It's really not about what we should be celebrating. I could care less if we celebrate neither. But the focus here, is when Nigeria became a country and not a sovereign country.

And Nigeria did not become a country in 1914. The country has always been there.
Politics / Re: Fashola Condemns Nigeria’s Centenary Celebration Plan by demmy(m): 10:40am On Oct 02, 2013
Colonial Nigeria was not a country/nation. It was a piece of land owned (illegally) by Royal Niger Company.

Why do you want to celebrate your enslavement? Nigeria was amalgamated for easy exploitation not for easy nation building.

Nah, amalgamation is like the day u were born. Independence is like the day u told ur parents to let u be a man and handle ur own business.

Not so. Nigeria is 53 not 99 or whatever. The pre-independent enclave was not a nation by any means.

No. Drains do exactly what they are called. They drain water (rain water) away and are not open/expose throughout the length of the road. You're also confusing drainage system to sewage system. Look up the difference.

I am so sorry Jakumo, but I am going to have to pull out my bullchit whistle and call you out because open sewers are NOT found exclusively in "third world" countries. I know from your post history that you hate Yorubas and the SW, but clearly your hate has clouded your memory. When you were doing all that imaginary travelling you would have come across open sewers in many of the cities you named.

Having ACTUALLY travelled, your post sounded ridiculous the moment I heard it.

I have lived in NY, and there absolutely are open gutters. They are just cleverly hidden. Pics below.

Go get a passport (hint: it's green) and try again.

NYC has gutters that drain straight into their massive underground sewer system.

Those are drains not open sewage gutter.

I'm so sorry, Mayor of Lagos, but I'm going to have to pull out my bullchit whistle and call you out, because open sewers are found EXCLUSIVELY in cities and slums of the Third World, and nowhere else on this green planet. I have either lived in or visited Los Angeles, San Fancisco, San Diego and New York, ALL of which are low-lying coastal cities, and I can attest that there are NO open sewers in ANY of those citites. Having spent time in more than a few coastal towns in the UK as well, I failed to spot a SINGLE Lagos-style open sewer there as well.

In short, your second claim above is blatantly false in every regard, and does not correlate with any reality that can be seen in the developed world. All the same, your valiant attempt to pass off pseudo-science as verifyable fact is understandable, given your obvious love and PATRIOTIC loyalty to Lagos and Nigeria.

Your first assertion about Nigerians being chronic litter-bugs may be true as a stand-alone assertion, but it still does NOT amount to a plausible reason why Nigerian urban developers have so far failed to adopt the sub-terranian sewage networks that are ubiquitous in the cities and towns of the developed world. The truth is that trash accumulates in ALL sewage disposal networks, and is routinely vacumed out of specially designed UNDERGROUND sumps, by purpose-built city trucks manned by trained crews.

Thank you for this great post.

New Orleans is below sea level and do not have open sewage.

Its still baffles me that Nigerians civil engineers and contractors are still building open gutters in these modern day and age. Underground sewage system would also help reduce those nasty vectors of malaria, mosquitoes.

And when they say field, we've got what's termed giant fields and a well lifespan.

Some fields ( wells ) can produce for 30 yrs + ( who run / own them? ), while some would flow for few months and stop.

They ( always Yorubas ) trying to prove Sen. Enang wrong, should remember some Nigerians understand the difference between these fields / wells ( the ones producing, reservoir viability, well lifespan, etc).

Instead of yapping mouth, just produce your correct list of "giant fields" and their owners.
