When the hell breaks loose you don’t care about your ears, the will of surviving sets in !
when hell breaks loose and you are disoriented and deaf. Your chances of survival are close to zero.

The engineers threw safety out the window on this one.

You have to be a really good rider to keep that bike stable even on a normal ride.
Talk more of when in action,
lol with vatually no stabilizers I can imagine the rider trying to keep the bike stable while the gunner stands and tries to do his thing.
It's gonna be a comedy show trying to keep the bike from tipping over.

I need a hit of whatever the engineers smoked.
WHat a fantabulous idea

Empathy for possible lies.... guy, what is your level of education huh
possible lies.

Well I guess those soldiers are just feeling bored as hell, they have no duty post to man.
So they just decided to lay on the floor for a photo op, with blood and brains gushing out of them.

AND dude!!!
My level of education is definitely higher than that of a person who can't take a look at a photo and deduce or comprehend if that said photo is portraying a lie or false information.

I've observed the way we handle bodies of deceased soldiers especially NCOs, I feel it's disrespectful they just gather them as if they're terrorists, I just hope that they are not buried in mass graves , if for nothing else atleast we should handle their corpses with dignity and not like sardines. na make soldiers head no touch one day come execute mutiny against their superiors oo!!
Nigeria must be better whether anybody likes it or not.
The bolded should be the initial plan. Giving the fact that the army already reported a way much lower figure.

All this is just so worrisome.
If we could record such heavy rate of casualties and the army said its just two.
I wonder how much has been covered in the past.

I bet they never expected that those pictures would be leaked.

Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by demolition: 6:21pm On Jul 08, 2020
like why exactly is the army hiding and downplaying casualty figures?
We lost 28 men in a single blow and the army media house reported 2 Kia and 4 wia.

Like WTF.?

Does the army still think Nigeria is still in the pre internet Era?

This men deserve better than this.
In a sane country this men would be celebrated by the institution they so gladly died for.
Instead this said institution just codedly denied them.

The Nigerian army made wearing anything camo a big deal, even patterns that are miles away from looking like that of the army.

Something that should not have been an issue as long as its not the patterns being used by the Armed forces.

This kind of incident happens quite often between the Abuja, kaduna and kano routes.

Nothing one won't see in this country, I watched that Army documentary on nta and its like it was aired to launder more of the COAS image than that of the army. They even used a picture of a Chilean special forces member descending from chute that went viral when one roforofo blog said it was the COAS grin . The whole thing to me is like a politician doing PR during elections campaign for a second term. abi is someone indirectly canvassing for tenure elongation?

I know, for me they are idling away there, where I stay it is not uncommon to see police APCs parked in front of privately run businesses.
The way e be these policemen very soon they'll start using it for kabukabu

Now they are deploying men to handle bandits.
Perfect avenue to get this vehicles deployed and put in good use.

Sometimes I wonder if the police purchase this stuffs for fashion purposes.

But at last. The NPF will always disappoint.

I don't see this vehicles being needed within Abuja or it's environs.
It's senseless to use Toyota Hilux in Maiduguri and then keep BTR's somewhere in Abuja taking dust.

The perception that civilians are to be treated as 2nd class citizens haven't helped either, I lot of my peers have joined various branches of the Nigerian military and i unequivocally tell you their attitude towards other citizens are very 'civil'...

The pre 90's generation had and still have a certain perspective of how things should be, been born and brought up in a very militarized era, you can't really blame them, things are changing for the better as it concerns civil-military relations, you can see the efforts of the military to work with local populations in front line areas, the process been made by NAF and NN, the NA is late to the party, but it is improving albeit slowly
the bolded is a key factor as to why the Armed forces lack that civilian care, support and love.

The airforce and navy are doing a pretty decent job in terms of reconstructing this broken relationship.

But the army I think would need a complete overhaul. cry
You can't win a war without the civil support.

Lol, tanks don't stand a chance. The Hilux will outrun any gun on that tank.

In fact the relatively slow tank will become a target practice for RPGs and grenades.

If we can spend almost over 1-trillion dollars on the airforce, then the army which is the main arm facing terrorist on the battlefield deserves the same.
I know Mr president and M.O.D top directives are making some procurement lately, we all agree it’s encouraging. The truth remains we can do better than these! If every elected politicians are using bullet proof cars then our frontline troops deserves better !

Firstly, Our MRAP can stop 12.7mm. Ezugwu to be specific and I think ARA as well buh m not saying mrap should do the work of Armoured vehicles,,,jst stating the fact

Secondly, buying Humvees from US is a very bad idea, I would rather suggest locally made armoured vehicles or russian, and Chinese Armoured vehicles Cos US doesn't really support Nigeria in military terms, If its going to take them 6 years to supply us 12 tucanos while it took them just 2yrs to supply Brazil 24 tucanos..You should know they don't give a sh*t about us

Thirdly, We should also keep in mind the financial capability of the military which makes them to prioritize..I think the soldiers in northeast in general are more than 30,000 men which means we would need up to 3,000 or 6,000 vehicles depending on the capacity of the vehicle..The average cost of a decent armoured vehicle is up to $70k..

Lastly I hope you know that most of BH vehicles are Captured NA Hilux which means if you are trying to up the game of the soldiers in armour protection you might as well be uping the armour protection of BH..that may sound somehow buh it's the truth.

What I would suggest is for the army to invest in more infantry fighting vehicles that can engage BH as far 2km away thereby increasing the engagement distance between soldiers and the terrorists which limits the damage BH AK47(which you said 95% of the fighters Use) that cant go more than 400metres would cause to soldiers..
bravo,

A good death is "kneeling down to get shot" on camera for the whole world to watch, including their family, mother, wife, and children when they grow up. The video stays for eternity. Smh.

There are few men in today's world.

If you see a Taekwondo black belter, whose belt was issued by the World Taekwondo Federation. Tell 6 men to fight him.

One kick on your head, you are in coma. One kick or punch on your stomach, you go down for 10minutes. When you see trained legs flying, you keep your distance.

I come from a family of forces. I had a NIA agent, a soldier, air force and a policeman in my family. So, i know what am talking about.
The irony. cry cry
Anyway it's easy sitting from your confort zone and typing how things are supposed to be.
First off you think this guys stand a chance when they got captured? You think iswap would mount a check point that lead to this capture with just 10 or less guys?
This two guys didn't stand a chance from the onset.
Even if they put up a fight you don't know how many of those guys are behind the scenes. You just saw two guys and a camera and you think that's all?
Hell putting up a fight will only lead to an even worse case scenario for them, because they would get subdued, probably get tied up and slaughtered.
Which would you rather their loved once watch? Being shot and going easy, or tied up and get gut like a stuck pighuh?
Guy use your head.

This is not a competition of who know pass, l really dont what your argument is.

The preferred gun truck or if you like the bench mark is the series 70 Toyota Land cruiser double cab pick-up, the current one is series 79. If you remember l said base model costs £50k.

When you modify it to meet military standard there will additional costs. Finally, paying attention to detail is a sign of intelligence. When l talked about the approximate cost l said $60k convert £50k to $ and you get $62.5k at today's rate.Below a YouTube video of commissioning of the series 79 gun trucks in Abuja two months ago.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnzO1GnpJ5k

If you say it's not a BTR 60 then tell us what it is please. Please educate me.

Below a picture of the more updated recommended BTR 80, with a 30 mm cannon. Far from perfect but much better than a soft skinned pick up gun truck.
