Well if the amount at the embassy is #16800 I have duly considered the amount on transportation, feeding and accommodation for me to travel from Abuja to Lagos and back to apply for visa, minus all the wahala and time spent, it will be well over #10000. And that is why I gladly paid VFS in Abuja #25,330 for them to do the job for me. I just dey track the movement of my parcel online since Tuesday. Now am informed it is already in the Consulate General of Italy being processed. Man you better calculate the cost before jumping into the nearest band wagon to travel to lasgidi unless VFS no dey your territory at all. Even at that still consider all the wahala you may get at Lagos.

VFS was on my neck to book for insurance. But had a day to think about it since I had to come back the next day to complete the process. If am to pay for health insurance now.. for how long package. 7 days, two weeks, or one month? Do we really need photocopy of our form A for Visa application?

No you do not need photocopy of your form A to apply for visa... it is there on their excel sheet they sent to Ministry of Education, Italy, which will in turn send the names of students to the different universities they applied. The embassy can always look up your names or verify whether you are included in those sheets (through your passport number as two people could bear the same names but no one can bear your passport number). I only included mine for eye service that i met all requirements. You are only required to include what VFS listed on their website only, or what is listed on Italy consulate websites only if you wish.

And again, know that the proof for them to give you visa is actually based on personal demonstrations that could convince them... and you cannot submit all what another person listed that they submitted (for instance, i submitted my land asset doc because I was nervous my personal account statement no carry huge chunks.. and have you bought a land too? Probably no!) unless the basic things like visa application form, flight booking, account statement, et cetera.

The main thing be say, make dem stamp your passport visa, na obodo oyibo you go travel go with or without DOV... you fit start ur school till you collect am later before you go "matriculate" or "enroll" proper, some schools fit give u grace period of 3 up to 6 months self. So una no get any cause for alarm at all... alarm only becomes necessary if dem deny you visa for wetin dem suppose give and dem no give you on time. In fact naija don teach dem lessons... if u apply for visa, dem screen u for visa requirement, if u apply for DOV, dem go verify your document, if you pre-enroll, dem go send you application to your school... your name dey their computer so dem fit verify anytime whether you don do any one of those processes during the visa screening. But dem no dey really use am to deny you visa... na if u no meet the visa petty petty requirements like account statement and so on. But if u miss any of these processes, na only your school u fit run into trouble with, but dem even dey understanding pass the embassy ppl.

Na wao some question make sense, some questions too dey dumb... no shaking sha, we dey together! The oyibo man stamped and signed my pre-enrollment form and photocopy am give me, and the photo attested paper bearing my photogragh.

You know say I bi fine naija bobos with long nose like oyibos, i come put activator for my curly hairs... na im one very fine omoge italiano officer come enter the office as i dey discuss with the oyibo man... come dey hover around the place like fly, dey chat with the man, dey use cunny eye look me... i am sure say she dey wonder whether blkman fit fine pass dem kpata kpata. Please how did you get the documents you submitted for pre-enrolment? Was it when you collected your legalized documents?

The pre-enrollment is important. Also the legalization of your documents can be done anytime, but this have little or no bearing on your visa application no matter what the embassy people may tell you just to galvanize you to do it. For visa application, the basic things you need to present are your pre-acceptance letter and photocopies of your original academic documents. I only decided to present photocopies of everything that the embassies have cleared for me (pre-enrollment form, photo attestation, DOV, and so on, because I no want any further wahala at all). All the wahalas I have encountered so far in my journey to get everything done however have been with my fellow naija ppl... DHL ppl, Fed. Ministry of Education, securities at gates, lawyers for my waec/neco dov which is still not ready... even the oyibo consular man in abj warned me that maybe i am making a mistake to want dov for my waec/neco as I don't need it for Master program but that only a dov for my bachelor is enough... that it will spend time with the (naija) lawyers... now i see big reason with this oyibo man... and have been regretting coughing 55k for such shabby treatment. My dov for my bachelor i sent by DHL to Italy embassy in usa only took 3 working days to be ready for pick up. Now i am in danger of losing my waec result which i get plenty A's and B's if i get visa and travel to Italy without it. I dey worry well well like woman for am now because i suffer to earn that result o... ulcer don nearly catch me self becos of brooding. I am just timing the abj embassy till i get my visa first, i go storm-flood them with countless request like a very persistent mosquito till them go fling my document out of their door-mouth, make i come pick am.

Whenever naija ppl handle my things, i dey get wahala somehow, I must plead and beg even though i pay big money for that service to be done... but when na oyibos handle my thing... Number 8 item is given to you after pre-enrollment at the embassy. You submit two photos; one photo will be retained by the embassy and the second photo attached to a paper (and stamped) with an attestation in Italian language that the bearer of that photo have been authenticated (and note that your bio data... names, date of birth, country, in briefs, will be stated on the paper).

You are to present this "attestation of your photograph" during enrollment in Italy and whenever asked in that country. So do no lost it.

To the best of my knowledge, this was how my documents were arranged by VFS yesterday ritually:
1. A completed and signed visa application form (1 copy)
2. A sheet containing my bio-data (1 copy)
3. Colored photo - one glued to visa application form, second clipped to the page (2 copies)

Well it is stated on the vfs site that apart from the 15 days estimated, you should add like 2-3 for delivery to embassy and another 2-3 days for collection, so it approximately 3 weeks and not 2 weeks!

Yes I have paid today at VFS Abuja, they collected N25, 330.00

Basically, the guy at VFS informed me that a bio data sheet is all i need - along with my other documents. No need for long grammar writing a cover letter...

But I disbelieve him on this as I feel empty without trying to rationalized with the embassy people through my cover letter itinerary to defend my online salary income job of $600 as as proof of sustenance as I did not lay up more than $2000 at the point of printing acct statement... my 6 months turnover of $3800 shows i can cover up and meet the 450 euro monthly or about 5800 euro per annum stipulated by ministry of education italy. (I could do this my online job while schooling in italy generating income from abroad). So if it is bulk money upfront, I won't meet up, but if it is proof of family income (self sponsor) I meet up. France actually accept salary proof of income as wwll as bank deposit upfront, some european countries do not accept salary proof but bank deposit or the sum unpfront, but Italy and Spain stated it is your ability to proof whatever way you can... which is typical of our African nature of not being clear in our explanations as African migrants have flooded their borders over the centuries, and Italians and Spanish have some characteristics of African culture now.

Well I was there at VFS in Abuja today but got a little disappointment. They informed me that I came late as they are only mandated for now to collect 10 applications per day. So I will have to come back early on Tuesday morning by 8 am to be part of the 10 that would make it the next day.

I think I was informed that the amount was around 26k or so, but definitely below 29k. But I really really spent time questioning them and believe that there is a healthy mistake someone... he insisted that our first time visa will be short stay of 90 days (and whatever the case, the visa form online is what they use). I mentioned that the online form does not carry visa D but C, and the guy gave me one funny explanation like it is those that comes back from Shenghai and going back that are issued visa D long stay. I myself do not really believe this....

But in any case I may not convince them to collect more than 26k and now I am contemplating whether to print and file the visa D form. Has anyone of you actually submitted a visa D form and what were you charged by Italy consulate in Lagos. A mystery still remain about the price though.

But i argue with the guy when they insisted i buy health insurance package at the centre from an agent. Why should i buy one now when 8 days after getting to Italy i may have to pay for the main one for my 2 yrs Master program stay? Ok i saw i could buy for 7, 14, 30 or 92 days package, and the cheapest 7 days was around 5k and the 92 days around 23k. But i have made up my mind tommorrow not to buy the health insurance as I am convinced it is not necessary for me student who have got DOV for my bachelor and I am taking an English language instruction (Master of science) program, no Italian test for me.

Please I need your advice. My degree DOV is ready, so I am ready to apply for student visa now. However this is my challenge:

1. I am to sponsor myself. I have checked ministry of educ Italy website that stated that monthly means of sustenance should be around 448.07 euro or 5,824.91 euro per annum. I am earning monthly above this means and can do my work anywhere their is laptop and internet connectivity even in Italy, but I have not save up to a million yet... as my admission letter to master program came unexpectedly.
2. I will be applying for visa maybe this week, so can I get the student visa if I can demonstrate that my economic sustenance will still be coming while i self sponsor myself (AND IT IS ENOUGH TO COVER MY STUDIES CONVENIENTLY)? NB: The revenue i generate online is quantified at exactly $600 monthly for now and comes promptly.
3. If I will not be given the visa even if I demostrate capability to sponsor myself by my personal income, then no stress i am thinking of chilling for another 6 six month and save over the 2million mark. So do i apply or forfeit my admission for this term

I want to apply for the student visa this week or next week.

Question one: Please could "Proof of sustenance" mean your source of livelihood. What about if you do not have up to 2 million in your account but 500k but you are working online on contract basis and it may be able to sustain your education?

Question two: Are we to book for two-way tickets (which include the return ticket) for our student visa. And if so, how many days apart should i book them....two weeks, two months, or all the 90 days visa duration? And if given the student visa can I now buy one-way ticket...which makes the greatest sense?

Question three:Since I am not on scholarship, how do i show proof of accommodation? My university have hostels and when we get there, we can pay and stay in the hostel. But it is not expressively stated on the website, so how do I show proof of accommodation? Should I book for hotel? My 5 days booking shows over 87k and I cannot continue living in the hotel till i secure proper accommodation. For those who are sponsoring themselves, how do they show proof of accommodation? Do i have to show proof of accommodation only for the duration of my return ticket? There are many mysteries surrounding how to go about applying for the student visa... can someone tell me how they plan to package their own application for student visa?

Please can we talk about student visa (flight booking, accommodation, account statement) now that September 2017 sessions is a month away?

I am an odd thinker and I believe that herpes have a cure. I was afflicted with orobucal herpes and twitching as the virus spread in my ganglions. I have discovered some of the basic things Italy embassy look for. Number one: their consular office handle documents as much as possible under their zone of jurisdiction. So people that schooled in places like Ondo, kwara and Edo may be handle by their branch in Lagos. So if you go to the wrong branch, you will be redirected back to Lagos.

I sat for WAEC in Abuja so Italy embassy in Abuja attended to me for pre-enrolment and legalization of my WAEC.

But because my online degree is from USA the DOV has to be done by Italy embassy in USA. I DHL it to them less than a week and now the DOV is ready for pickup. But the naija legal team for Italy embassy Abuja just they call me for phone they worry my life like witch after many weeks. Please make dem chop my WAEC, I no even need am for Master degree self. My DOV for my bachelor is enough, even the consular officer tell me say that is what really matters so make I make sure say I get am from their USA branch.

My next challenge be say....how I go take book this 2-way flight ticket self and any clue about account statements? If I do well for account statement dem suppose stamp me student visa sha

A man is only limited by his thoights. Give me one reason to let me think that white man pass me in anyway and you have fallen into my bad book and we can never be friends. I only need equal opportunity to compete with any white, red, brown or yellow person and I will come out at the top or as very outstanding because I know something others care little about...God!

Well can you get a student visa without DOV? I would have applied for visa but I am still waiting for my DOV from Italy embasdy USA to arrive then I will apply mid July or before August.

I am being asked whether my school will give me accommodation for 1yr. They favor students from developing countries first above their oyibos to pay and stay in the school hostels. Probably around 200-250euros. If at this stage someone is thinking about "whether papa get money" e fit end up jobless because im no show maturity. If you are a failure in your country how can you succeed in an advanced society?

As for me my papa and mama no dey alive for many many years now and I am self reliant and employed. Not only that, I am working online as contractor and earning over $500 with my computer skills but I wonder what % of tax I have to pay? I prefer to store my money in Italian bank when I get student visa and permit than to operate dom acct from naija with my dollar card. My advice to everybody is if you no fit survive in your country is because you no wan study, acquire skills or talents and not hard working, but maybe prefer to drink, smoke, relax and remain relatively uneducated. Don't be shady in your pursuits...easy way is not really easy!

I am happier when people discriminate me because then I have nothing to prove but to disprove people's theory about me. It will be good not to underestimate me especially after you have known me better. Just the first day I stepped into Italian embassy to inquire how to start my pre-enrolment the consular officer had to scream in surprise at the end because I shock am well well with simple things. I translated my documents myself with my computer skills but pretended that I needed his consent to review them. The next time I came again na him dey sing my praise to their italian staffs. Life is simple, impress people with your skills and talents and the service you can offer and not with how much book knowledge you know and you will never lack. Lazy man hardly acquire good skills or talents because they lack motivation and determination. I am laughing because I wonder how I can be in a country and if I decide to show case my talents it won't solve people's problems and I won't get paid and sot after? For example if I walk into a bar lounge and play the piano, the list is endless, oyibos would want me to leave in a hurry? God knows it is more blessed to give than to beg, collect or steal. Give whatever you have, it could be money for tax, your time, energy, skills or talent, and you get rewards. Stopping thinking creatively and you get grounded.

It is University of Messina. On the overall I judge that the tuition fee will be cheaper in Italy than Cyprus. I do not know what to expect of accommodation, food and transportation though.

The scholarship list for my school came out today, and I no qualify for their scholarship. Wetin man go do now to apply as my sponsor account for the student visa need to be fatter as I no get scholarship o!

Please make una advice me o... should I give up now on the enrollment for Italy admission? I have two offers to school at universities in Cyprus for September, so should I pursue one of them rather?

Well I did my pre-enrollment at the same time submitted my legalized WAEC at Italy embassy at Abuja. No crowds, no hazzles, I was ushered in almost immediately like a king and I began to wonder? I paid 55k to their Zenith bank... only God knows when my WAEC will be out, so I no go worry myself provided I get my bsc done.

I really despair when I found out that my online USA bachelor degree have to be sent to USA for notarization/apostille and then sent back to Italy embassy in USA for DOV and not naija. So far, starting from my international passport, courier services, legalization fees at ministry of education and foreign affairs abuja, italy embassy fee, and USA legalization and embassy...I may have spent over 350k to 400k this hard economic time o.
