Buhari was the chairmanship of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) before he (Abacha) died in 1998. When Obasanjo returned to power in May 1999, he found that over 2.5 billion naira had not been properly accounted for in the PTF and that there was not much on the ground to show for the colossal expenditure the agency was claiming. On the day Obasanjo announced the scrapping of the PTF, a non-staff brother-in-law of Oga, allegedly serving as his conduit on some PTF projects, died suddenly from what appeared to be heart failure. can someone research very well before selling the incorruptible buhari |
Buhari is only winning in nairaland, how many of you will go out there and vote. One man one vote Buhari has lost from inception. |
Mr. Pukkah can you convince nigerians about this your Buhari achievement for 2 and a half year. He is unsellable except you want to be sentimental or your brother lost primary to Jonathan as the case is. |
Buhari candidature (CPC) represent violence, it is against tenet of democracy, we dont need a violence leaders at this point in time. |
What we need is a true democrat not an ethnic and religious bigot that will use his eight years to hunt foes. |
Let everybody clamouring for Buhari have it at the back of his mind that he will only rule the north. he has no more gun to intimidate people if loves democracy why did he overthrown democratic elected government infact BB support are daft. |
who is fit to rule is buhari that rule for more than 2 years for nothin to reckon for it, or jonathan that rule for just 7 month just mention but a few that stabilised fuel pls let us not crucified people for others mistake. what are buhari achievement jailing Ekweme exonorating Shehu shagari his kingsman or what. |
I am begining to think that a core notherner believes that he is born to rule let every person in this house read apart This election is not all about incorruptgible and corruptgible it is about the mentality that the north must rule at all cost the other day when people were glamouring for consesus candidate from the north nobody talks of PDP corruption now a minority (the hen that lay the golden egg emerges as PDP flag bearer) some people hijack nairaland to spearhead to campaign against Jonathan using deceptive approach. as long as there is no equity in this country Nigeria will seize to exist from 2011 when Buhari emerges as the Pres. Enough of all these rubbish we know what is behind this smear campaign let stay and watch. |
What does Buhari has to offer? fighting of corruption, without gun, hell no. he cannot fight corruption he is going there to fight those who fought him, those who overthrew him, if he win (Allah Forbid) there aaren'tno time to work Nigerians so be wise and don'tvote Buhari. Vote Jonathan or Shekauru these are true democrat. |
Is CPC Dead on Arrival? by Audu Garba Girei advertisement Never in the history of Nigeria’s democratic experience have we ever witnessed such a violent party like the CPC. This is a party that is barley four months old in existent but caused more violence than any other party in the history of Nigerian democracy. CPC was registered by INEC in November 2010. Apart from the fact that it lacks internal democracy as was witnessed during all its primary elections in all the states especially in the North, its presidential candidate and his running mate have been preaching violence wherever they have gone to campaign. Listen to General Buhari to his wild and unruly supporters, lynch other voters and protect your votes. On his own part, ‘Pastor’ Tunde Bakare is threatening brimstone and fire that it is going to be ‘wild’ ‘wild’ North if the election is rigged. Unfortunately for the Nigerian masses, Pastor Tunde Bakare has confirmed that his family has been living in America since 2000. Who is going to start the ‘wild’ ‘wild’ North for him then as his family is in America? It is like they are aware they will lose the election already that is why they are making every effort to cause commotion and chaos so that they blame the government and the police as usual. Otherwise what is the essence of General Buhari urging his supporters to stay at the polling station to protect their votes? The police have promised to deploy two policemen per each polling unit, is that not enough? What will happen if all the other voters will malinger around the polling booth to protect their votes as well? The situation will become chaotic and riotous. General Buhari, power comes from Allah and he gives it to whosoever he wants. From all the confusion and the entire chaotic situation in the CPC, it can safely be said that all the problems that were in ANPP were caused by General Buhari his agents. Since he left ANPP there has been peace and orderliness in that party. General Buhari, please preach national unity and not violence. Even your supporters on the internet are more violent that those that are physical. Kai CPC, So so Violence everywhere |
sheild your sword poster |
Why vote Buhai I asked you before, and I ask you again, tell me just one thing, BUHARI military regime achieved in terms of POWER, EDUCATION, AGRICULTURE and HUMAN CAPACITY BUILDING. If you can tell me just one thing then I will vote him. I challenged you on a 1:10 basis. Do you think Nigerians are all fools? You may have sort memories or too young to remember, but we saw it all. It was the northern elder that asked IBB to chase out that crappy self-acclaimed general because he has no wisdom to lead a country, yet he was killing people. A move which was considered to be a threat to the nations unity |
Buhari is never the best choice in this race, what does he now want in democracy after making a blonder in 1984 by saying he has thrown the key of democracy to the sea when he was approach by Awolowo. Anybody supporting Buhari is being sentimental religiously or ethicnically because there is no base to support an arrogant person for the office of the pres. Going by his record he ruled virtually 2years or more, there is absolutely nothing to remember him for as a past leader of this country. i m very angry with post i red alwys in this forum we are supporting person base on what? if we say we hate PDP then vote for a democrat not Buhari like shakarau. Buhari will only take us back to era of darkness i can assure you he cannot fight corruption. This is democracy there are laws that must be follow before action is taken. He has no ball to to fight corruption he has no gun to force people to do what is right this leaves us with two options to choose from Shakarau and Jonathan, Ribadu was used by Obasanjo to fight selective corruption. |
everybody knows that except those hiding under the pretext that buhari is a saint |
it is only insane human being that will waste his vote on BB they are so self righteous, they are not the messiah, Buhari preach of fighting curruption and he has the son of a man that finish our treasury on his train (Abacha) how deceptive he is. |
i know Buhari Will Not and Never Win if he do there will be uncontrolable crisis that will lead to demise of Nigeria as a one country. |
Nigerians should not vote for Buhari in April mainly because he does not have what it takes to cope with the dynamics of the new world order driven by genuine democracy and characterised by respect for the wishes and aspirations of the people–rule of law, accountability, transparency, intellectualism and information technology among other factors. Buhari came to power as a military dictator after overthrowing a democratically elected government of Alhaji Shehu Shagari in 1983 and left office after about two years of no clear- cut vision of what he took over the reigns of power for. Some people have credited Buhari’s person and administration with what they call integrity. While one is not here to drill any hole on that claim, it could be said that, 20 months was such a short period for Buhari to reveal his real self. But let’s leave that as it may be for now. General Buhari ruled Nigeria as a usurper coup plotter about 26 year ago. Many of the children who were born when Buhari was Head of State are now out of the universities. In serious societies, young people of 26 and 30 years are the ones shaping their societies. But Buhari wants to be president again. In spite of his obvious handicaps in formal education, Buhari has not acquired any additional training or skill since he left office nearly 30 years ago that would have helped to keep him abreast with modern techniques of governance. What would a President Buhari be telling President Barak Obama and Prime Minister Cameron of the United Kingdom if the three of them meet in a conference to discuss interplanetary communication evolution, digital military science and applications, information technology deployment as well as modern economic management techniques? Nigerians should know that today’s leaders are well- educated and vibrant men and women who are so versatile in diverse fields of life so much so that they can take on anybody anywhere, on any issue under the sun. Today’s leaders rely less on advisers and policy analysts. Nations of the world are governed today by men and women who can log unto the internet to research and get information on anything under the earth, leaders who can communicate with their people making use of information technology tools like the facebook, twitter and the rest. Time is no longer there for those leaders who apply brute force on people to queue at bus- stops, employ the service of horsewhips to force people to clean their environments and set up brigades as means to tackle the issue of corruption and indiscipline. Leadership by example first and second, civil persuasion are the basic driving forces in today’s governance. Buhari cannot begin to learn those basic techniques while in office because we cannot afford to wait for him to go to office in the morning and attend adult school in the night. He had all the time to do that but couldn’t. When the United States President Barak Obama went to Ghana some time ago, he made it clear to all that national development anywhere today, depends on good governance. Obama said that no country is going to create prosperity if its leaders among other things exploit the people for personal aggrandisement. He said that nobody wants to live in a society where the rule of law gives way to the rule of brutality and force. Incidentally, those were the hallmarks of the administrations superintended by Nigerian tyrants. According to President Obama, in the 21st century, capable, reliable and transparent institutions are the key to success which include strong parliaments and honest police force, independent judges and journalists; a vibrant private sector and civil society. He said that history is on the side of those who fight for freedom and justice and not on the side of those who use coups or change constitutions to stay in power. Is someone listening? We cannot allow coup plotters and those who manipulate both the constitution and democratic institutions to become our leaders any longer. And Obama was right: We do not need strong men again. We need strong democratic institutions to take our nation to the Promised Land. Wherever he goes for his campaign rallies, Buhari is telling Nigerians that his purpose of seeking the office of the President is to serve us. That is every good. But I ask the General, must you be in government to serve the people you love and contribute to national development? If Buhari wants to serve Nigeria since he left office, there are so many other ways he would have done that without waiting to contest the President’s office every four years. Is Buhari saying that he has not been seeing what Kofi Annan, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and a host of others are doing? Since he left office as the Secretary General of the United Nations, Koffi Annan has been running a Foundation called the Koffi Annan Foundation with a three- plunged vision of training people for global leadership, mediation in conflict and advocacy and partnership. For Bill Clinton, it has been from one African country to another where his Foundation is helping to bring succour to millions of people afflicted with the HIV/AIDS pandemic through provision of cheap drugs, while the Carter Centre has been championing the war against guinea worm and other dreaded diseases across Africa and Latin America among other nations. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation last year released one half of the multi-billionaire’s fortune towards fighting poverty in Africa and other humanitarian activities all over the world. If Buhari cannot see these philanthropists, has he not seen how General Yakubu Gowon through partnership with the Carter Centre is working round the clock to rid Nigeria of guinea worm? If Buhari does not have money as he claims, couldn’t he have used his tall and handsome figure and the so- called Mr. Clean identity some people think he has, to attract international donors to a Foundation in his name that would help to reduce the suffering Nigerians have been subjected to these past years? You hardly can point at any manufacturing industry or visible business venture providing employment to any of the millions of Nigerians roaming the streets in search of meaningful life that you can say Buhari and his likes established. They have not, since they left office, added value to anybody’s life. But they want our votes so they can provide good governance. That would not work, not this time. |
no rational thinking youth will waste his vote on any aspirant that will incite violence in nigeria. anybody that experience nigeria civil war will try to reject violence in all ramification. vote wisely. |
This is just another avenue to fight the south like the way he did to Alex ekweme after excluding the head of government from the north (Shehu Shagari) as a saint. Buhari is just an Ethnic Bigot. |
The south south man will not take it lightly with the way things are going on now. this is no longer campaigning for election this is a direct assault to the south south as a zone. i use this medium to send warning signal to anybody perpetuating this act to deviate from it, destroying jonathan billboard is not the solution to nigeria problem to think of it jonathan just started ruling this country few months ago. |
Kano — The late military Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, did not loot the national treasury contrary to the general impression, two military former heads of state have said. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who ruled Nigeria between 1983 and 1985, and his successor, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, gave Abacha the clean bill in Kano yesterday after the rememberance prayers marking 10 years of the death of Abacha, who ruled between 1993 and 1998 http://allafrica.com/stories/200806090008.html |

Buhari thrust himself into our consciousness when he truncated democracy by successfully staging a coup d’etat that sacked a democratically elected government of Nigeria in 1983.http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/opinion/18593-the-buhari-we-know |
IF BUHARI CANNOT CONTROL THE CROWD THAT FOLLOWS HIS CAMPAIGN TRAIN THEN NIGERIA FUTURE IS SCEPTICAL IF WE VOTE HIM. I NEED NOT TO REMIND US WHAT HAPPEN IN KADUNA AND GOMBE AND ALMOST EVERYWHERE HE'S GONE FOR CAMPAIGN A WHOLE LOT OF OPPONENT CAMPN APPARATUS ARE BEING DESTROYED. THIS IS DEMOCRACY NOT DICTORSHIP. WE SHOULD BEWARE WHO WE GIVE POWER TO OR ELSE WE MAY GO BACK TO THE OLD ERA OF DICTORSHIP. VOTE WISELY. |
you have alraedy have made up mind |
Buhari thrust himself into our consciousness when he truncated democracy by successfully staging a coup d’etat that sacked a democratically elected government of Nigeria in 1983. His true character did not take long to manifest. Before our very eyes, the head of the government he sacked, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, was declared a saint and kept under house arrest while his erstwhile Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, was declared a scoundrel and clamped into Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison without any judicial pronouncement as to his guilt. His disdain and contempt for the judiciary did not know bounds. He took it abroad and crated Alhaji Umaru Dikko, the sacked Transport Minister, for repatriation back to the country. These are some of the attributes of someone who wants to be the President of Nigeria under a democratic setting in the 21st century. Let’s even leave his anti-corruption gaffes and pretences which led to the easy passage of 53 suitcases belonging to a sacred cow while other Nigerians’ goods were impounded and destroyed at the same airport. This was anti-corruption war indeed! His hatred for law, order and due process even went to the extreme. Lives of young Nigerians who were caught and tried for drug offences were executed on the orders of Buhari even with Decrees made to have retroactive effect. Is this the kind of leader we want in 2011 Nigeria? How about the contempt for truth which to him is an anathema with his dreaded Decree 4 against journalists for publishing the truth? How would Buhari operate under the new Freedom of Information (FoI) Bill when passed into law? A leopard cannot change its spots so easily. |
I am gona tell all nigerians especially the youth to set aside sentiment and stop allowing religion, region emotion to control their reasoning and vote for the right person. if you judge the present administration for the six month life span you will agree with me that he has done something i mean something that affect every i mean every nigerian positively. i never for the past decade experience the solemnity in the way we are at the moment in our filling stations. and let me also tell every one posting here that we the youth we should stop playing politics with our destiny we should learn from history. no history no future. the so call notherners have rule this country for about 3 decades, let me tell you the highest illiteracy ratio in nigeria is in the north, how about poverty is also in the north. this means all those past leaders they where self centered thank you all and may God bless united nigeria. |
atleast for the six month of this administration of Goodluck Jonathan we have enjoy one thing that most of us (nigerian) have not, for the past 25 years of our existence. we should not be judging people with sentiment, if we let our sentiment to control our sense of judgment then all of us i mean all of us will suffer it. if there is fuel scarcity who will suffer most it is you and i. some of us are just posting whatever that comes because we allow religion, region, sentiment to becloud our reasoning. we need to wake up from all these to make nigeria a better place for all of us. |
One evening I went to my lover's house, on reaching there, her younger brother told me she went to see her aunty. Before then she normally complains about one guy that is disturbing her. but then I still have some doubt in my mind, I decided to wait for her. I waited till around 10:30pm in her house, after then a thought came to me to call her I then discovered that she left her phone in the house. I pick up the phone I search for the guy's number. Then I call the guy if she know someone call (this) the guy reply no. After a while I decided to go home with her phone she now appear, I ask her where are u coming from she is coming from her aunty's house she replied, I then got a bit provoke and decided to go with her phone although she never knew I was with her phone.
