In every situation you found yourself please dont kill yourself. Your problem are your own imagination stop comparing yourself with people. some start at 20 and die at 40 some even start at 45 and die at 80. please go and hustle you are very young. i started a professional exams that i am supposed to start when i was a teen at age 40. TrustTheProcess: You may be wondering what madness drove me to this but it isn't madness but a deep rooted depression that built up for over 15 years.
I'm 31 going on 32. A lot went wrong for me in my life. Some were mistakes of my doing while others were largely financial constraints for my family. I attended a primary school and secondary schools that would be the envy of many parents. I first realised something was wrong when I was sent home from school for inability to pay school fees. I was 16 and in SS3 in a full boarding school. My fees in 2008 was about 600k+ a term. My father rallied and got it paid so I could graduate. Parents tend to shield their children when there are financial problems so I was oblivious of it. I saw that whenever I brought brochures of schools abroad to my father, he'd ignore them. I had anticipated like many of my mates in school to further our education in the US, UK or Canada. It was when i came back to school to get my WAEC results that my dad informed the principal that I'd be applying to Yaba College of Technology. I was devastated but not deterred. I believed I could still achieve a lot there because I was bright and had a super result. I didn't write SAT or IGCSE but I thought I might write either a year after or do A levels. That year, I wrote Poly JAMB before it was merged with regular university JAMB. I passed my Poly JAMB and was admitted into Yaba College of Technology. This is where my problems started. My now late p maternal uncle was a student there back then and was told to monitor when the list of admitted students were posted. For some reason, he said my name didn't come out in the first, second, third and supplementary admission lists. After much probing, it was found out that my name was in the first list and the time it was discovered was well into the 1st semester so the admission was forfeited. I tried again the next year for UNILAG but I didn't get admitted for whatever reason UNILAG knows because I passed JAMB and Post JAMB. By this time, we could barely pay our rent and were barely getting by. I grew up a butter kid so I didn't have that hustle spirit. I just felt things would get better but I got a job at a business centre as a typist. Years passed doing one odd job to the other. School wasn't an option for me at this point mabecause we simply couldn't afford it and my siblings were still in secondary school. It was private but affordable. I desperately needed to up my game and I honestly believed it was up to me to uplift my family again. I got so depressed because I wasn't heading anywhere. I owed more than half my salary before it was paid so saving was never really an option. I was just getting by. By this time, I was working at a petrol station as a fuel attendant. I strived not to cheat people and this made me the most hated amongst my colleagues. We were from vastly different backgrounds and upbringing and it showed. I couldn't hide it even if I tried. If I took a break, someone would sell from my pump to ensure I got shortages. My shortages piled up to about 50k and I cried bitterly. I later got admitted into a maritime school but couldn't complete my studies because of finances. I took up shift jobs and all my dreams and aspirations disappeared at this point cos all I wanted was to survive. I begun smoking cannabis which at the time seemed a great help to me at the time as it helped me accept my life condition. I was introduced to Yahoo but I despised the idea of scamming people. I just wasn't brought up like that. I instead took up selling cannabis as it seemed like an honest hustle even though I was aware of its illegality. This also didn't work for me because I just wasn't cut out for that kind of life. At 29, with only WASSCE to my name. I wasn't getting any reasonable job offers. I hated my self and my life. In all of this, things didn't get better for my family either. We were a shadow of ourselves. Friends and family who would literally mob us daily were no where to be found. This was worse because both my parents were kind of breadwinners in their respective families. I would usually see my former schoolmates on social media living the dream, my dream. 90% of my mates were abroad and working. Some had married oyinbo and started cute families. The ones that didn't school there went to private unis here in Naija and are doing well. They travel whenever they please. I've seen two of my mates making front page on Nairaland for being outstanding in their respective fields. It made me bitter and want to die. I've been harbouring this suicidal thought for about 3 years now. Why I hadn't tried was because I knew my family can't afford a funeral and it would literally kill my mom whose health had deteriorated. What triggered me was this past Christmas/New year. We barely had anything to eat. I am currently unemployed and live with my parents in a one bedroom apartment. You can imagine the drama that comes along with that. I always wonder when I see other youth doing well and ask myself if I'm being punished for something. This year is worse because of the inflation. I barely eat even though you can hardly tell by my physique. Long story short, I found half a bottle of sniper at a public toilet and stole it. I mixed it with a bowl of okra soup and drank it. I didn't die. I guess God still has a plan for me. I've literally been waiting to die but today, I figured I'm not going to die just yet because the effect of sniper is almost instant. I decided to do it because I reached out to one of my mates abroad and he totally bullshited me. I felt I had nothing going on for me anymore. I can go for months and nobody would call my line except the occasional wrong number and immediate family. I never felt so alone in my life. My circle is literally made up of only my family members. Family is great but I still felt terribly empty. I figured people would rather donate to help bury a person rather than help when the person is alive so the burden of my funeral wouldn't weigh on my family. Two days after drinking the sniper I looked at my mother and cried bitterly. She wondered why but I told her not to worry. She said things would get better. I can only imagine the hurt I would have caused her even though I ensured nobody knew how I died because I disposed the Sniper bottle well. I currently don't feel any discomfort. I have passed urine and poo multiple times since I drank it. I guess I'm not dying soon, at least not by killing myself.
I left out quite a lot in this story trying to be as brief as possible. Suicide is never the answer. If you kill yourself life will not stop for you. Thanks for reading. |

This your story eeh, how did you depart from her after you have impregnated her was there a quarrel or you disappear just like that? Vawulenciano: All Nairalanders please help him with advise.
A friend narrated his story to me and I'm hiding his identity while bringing the issue to Nairaland to help me know what to advice him by speaking on it. This is the story.
I need advice. Between the lady that was there with you when there was nothing and the one who made you rich, which one is best for marriage and you are only allowed to marry just one.
I'm Ijaw from Bayelsa State. I loved this girl. She loved me too. She told her father she want to marry me, her father say if she leave his house he will rent out the room he gave her. She said no problem that she will marry me and she took her properties then pack to my house in another town but neighbouring Community and different LGA. Her father kept his word. Rented it to students for the place was University area and student rented it fast. My father said he doesn't like the lady that I should send her away, me knowing that she lost her house for my sake told my father that I won't and when I saw that my father was bent on sending her away, I said instead of she to leave, I'll pack out with her and I did.
Then I went and build a basher at my own place for I have land and we started living there. Things became so hard and we left that place and travelled out because nobody wants to support us from our both families. We travelled to Benin with our last cash and started sleeping at front of a shop at night while we work menial jobs by day. Hoping that we later go Lagos and rent better house after saving some money and we start life there.
After sometime, we missed each other and couldn't find each other. This girl was already pregnant for me and we had taken blood oath back in Bayelsa that nothing would ever separate us. She cut her self with Matchet for my sake and I did same then we joined the fresh bloods together.
Couldnt find her and later gave up because we missed each other. Later I travelled to Ghana with a friend then I came back Nigeria and got work in Port Harcourt. Later met another Ijaw lady from Kalabari and she was from Billionaire family and an only daughter.
After sometime together I asked her to marry me and she said yes. I had some millions in my account and she had some roles she played before I became millionaire. Now, my other woman that lost for so long has come with a son and say we must marry for she trace me back home and my people called me for I and them settled and became family again.
The girl did not spoil the pregnancy and she has now brought back a boy. What can I do, the other lady is saying she won't agree either.
All my ancestors I can remember only had 1 wife each. My 5 fathers from great great grandfather to my father all had one wife. I can't handle two. One wife is in my family DNA.
Please I need help. How can I settle this? |
Family › Re: Advise, My Father Sold His House And Moved To The Village Now He Wants To Leave by denko(m): 3:46pm On Jan 26, 2024 |
Your old man is manipulating you, if this your story is true he is a wicked father who does not care and does not give a Bleep. but i advice you to do what you can and leave what you cannot, because this one na family issues. AtoningBlood: I need your input people.
3 years ago, my dad sold our house without informing anyone of us. Meanwhile, we all had things left at home, including my mum's items. He never told us where some of those things are till date.
He sold that house and went to the village, he immediately started having issues with the village people. Fight today, fight tomorrow. Everyone in the village I heard now disrespect him due to how he reveal his secrets to anyone who cares to listen.
My dad wants to leave the village to go rent an apartment in another state. His financial responsibility has been on me alone. My siblings abandoned him.
He's being nursing the idea of leaving the village and never informed me. Last november I spent almost 2 million naira fixing solar power and inverter for him in his house at the village and immediately after that he started saying he wants to leave the village..
I told my dad never to relocate to the village yet, that he should wait till his is older as he is still agile and all his friends are in the state where we lived or around. He also gets contracts once in a while so I don't bear much financial burden. But no, he failed to listen and sold our house and left.
My dad wants me to cough out another 1M to rent a house, he wants it big, 3 bedroom. I told him to look for a 2 bedroom but he said where would visitors stay.
I am not even comfortable seeing him in a rented apartment, what would my cousins say, they would mock us. I have some of them who are very naughty. He is bringing shame in us.
We have two properties and my husband wants him to come and stay in one, I vehemently disagreed because he will be controlling us, some of my extended family members will come visiting him and carry the news to the village, as well as discussing my own family and I don't want that. They contributed to what is happening to him now. Through him, some of them will come to stay and I can not start what I can't continue with. So I told my husband to dead that idea fast.
He wants to leave the village latest by February. How do I convince him to get a 2 bedroom flat? 3 bedroom would mean 3 mattresses, and everything triple. My dad doesn't like anything less. All the expenses will be on me alone. My siblings don't care.
I can't turn deaf ears to his needs. I don't want him in the village and I hate to see him in a rented apartment but that is what it is now.
I need contructive advice especially those of us with retired parents, how do you relate with their needs? I told him to think of a small trade so he won't be idle like he's been since retirement and he is talking about setting up electrical pole business, I laughed. Sebi he wan rek me. Same way he did not manage hid wealth. |

Politics › Re: Never Allow Weak Man Lead A Political Empire by denko(m): 10:00am On Jan 13, 2024 |
This your analogy will not pass the test of time after 2027 Biggie225: APC will continue to rule Nigeria. I don't see them losing their grip on power any time soon. Gej as a person is the real reason why the PDP lost the seat of power. If not for Jonathan, PDP would have been in power till today.
PDP did worse than APC, the rigging, looting and abuse of office PDP did the worst.
If PDd had forced Gej out and then produced a powerful candidate to challenge Buhari in 2015, the story would have been different today.
You can't defeat an incumbent government. Impossible in Africa. That's the Fact. Empires are built on sweat and blood.
This is the biggest lesson I learnt in my life. I detest weak men, men that are easy to crack. Power is taken and not given. Power is meant for the Great and not the weak.
Today American Democrats are fighting to remove Trump from 2024 ballots. Because they knew that he was a great threat to them retaining power beyond 2024. The reason is because he's a courageous man. Nnamdi Kanu is in detention today because he's a threat.
Russia has Putin, China has Xi Jinping.
Tinubu is a strong, smart and courageous tough man. Leading a team of rugged men. Politically he's a Genius. He hardly shows resentment of others, he carries everyone along with his political blueprint. Even here in south East, we don't know where and how to attack Tinubu because he's an intelligent man. And that's where Buhari failed as a leader. And again Nigeria is an Empire that may never work. |

How much do you spend on your mother, i dont have problem with that if she is your wife. Naijagram: Seeking your thoughts, everyone!!!
I work as a salaried individual and earn around 400k monthly.
However, my girlfriend constantly asks for money. I give her almost 100k every month and she feels it's not enough for her. She's even voiced discontent, suggesting I only send her money when she explicitly requests it.
I'm beginning to suspect her motives, as she seems solely focused on my income.
She never suggests saving or helps in cutting costs; her primary interest lies in spending everything. Despite my genuine love for her, I can't keep up with her demands. I had hopes for our future together, but it seems unlikely now.
I'm considering a breakup as a solution.
Has anyone navigated a similar situation? |

Marry her she is good, She was open she never hide it from you. she pleaded for forgiveness. Some will do it and swear with your great grand father and still gaslight you for accusing them wrongly. letstalksense: There is this lady I plan to marry, which I have made known to her already even before she travelled for her NYSC. Although she just came back from NYSC service recently. We are just discussing the way forward and on the process I was asking her about her sexual life and how recently she had sex. After insisting for her to answer. She opened up and told me she had a sexual relationship during her NYSC service. And the reason was because I didn't call her at a particular time so she thought I have find anther woman. And that was when I was having some personal challenges. According to her, they ended the sexual relationship in the camp. That she is sorry and all that. I didn't really expect that attitude from her as she seem to look responsible and Godlily. I was just disappointed even though I pretended like everything is well. And I was also thinking she had the courage to tell me the true.
Now I have to make my decision, but needs a matured advise and guidance from a mature mind please.
Do think I should continue my marriage plan with her?
Pease what do you advise I do?
Thanks in advance. |
