true2god: They dont love Igbo girl. They love sleeping with dem cos it is a sort of pride and fulfilment for any of dem to date Igbo girls.Stop disrespecting your women. Smh |
coogar: that assumption is premature....It is very possible. But if it had gone down well with op, we wont be having this discussion. It shows that he wasnt prepared for what she was presenting to him. Would it make sense that she gives room for his preparedness since she may not be aware of how prepared he may have been? |
tbaba1234: It happens all the time... And it is quite normal. Islamically, there is absolutely nothing wrong in that. You will have a ' getting to know each other' period then you can decide to go ahead with it or not.Actually and to be frank, I dont see myself doing any of the above. Trust me, all that a wali is needed for pre accepting proposal is now made possible by technology. I cant just imagine that every guy I have known had had to speak with my wali first and that we've had to speak in their presence. Fact is anyone I am not considering seriously cannot get to my wali. Wouldnt he spend sometime convincing me of getting to my wali? So when he needs to do this, Ana, deols, would not want a 'You are my wife and we are destined to be together forever'. I would want that I KNOW a few uncompromisable things about him first. And I dont see this as unIslamic. |
and i am saying that fear is largely misplaced.... there's no rule book that says couples must wait for 20 years to assess compatibility. a woman knows within 5 mins if she can date/marry the guy asking her out....if he ticks all the boxes, why wait? There is no rule to it, I agree. But I wouldnt want that. I'd like to make friends first. truth is - you cannot truly know him until cohabitation. all those courtships are mostly ridden with pretence and eye service. knowing him starts after marriage or cohabitationMaybe. But I would at least have tested his cognitive ability. I believe I am a good judge of character. It helps ![]() for a woman, the above point is true......cos the general perception is that the man is just saying that to get sex. however, for a guy like the OP, i see nothing wrong in a woman telling him what her expectations are....I believe it is no big deal that she said her mind. But I have a perfect understanding of why he needs to be careful and sure. She could be all good and nice for what she sees in and wants from him. He needs to also see some things in her. i have more respect for women like her than the pretending vipers!I would assume that I hate pretense more than you do. |
Sissie: If reverse was the case and it was a man who said the same thing she said, many people would have thought it romantic, but since it's a female she's desperate.Even from a man, it is capital NO. I meet you today and you are talking marriage? Do you know my temperament, my life values? What possibly can you know of a person you have only known for four days beyond their Looks? That seems very childish my dear. If they talk this way now and they find enough time to talk about other things before tying the knots, good for them. But if she gets pregnant or something and they'r married in the next month, well, wishing them the best. |
coogar: so what would you rather have? where a woman pretends not to like a guy she really likes? what does it matter if she expresses herself the 2nd day or the 200th day?I am not in support of a woman hiding her feelings. I have supported, over and over again, a woman going out to say her mind and daring the consequences. But I would be wary of someone I have known only for four days asking straight away that I marry him. I'd ask him questions like, have you known me long before now?.. When I read the first page, I thought there was nothing wrong with it. But when Op said they have known each other for only FOUR days, I became wary. She could be the one, no doubt. But that kind of situation wouldn't go well with ME. |
coogar: why run?Okay, run is an exaggeration. But anyone asking that it be fast scares me. It sounds like they have an agenda. In this case many people have called that desperation. |
CAN can mean anything, nevertheless, let that CAN tell us the parents side of the story
Are you serious? Wasnt the father's side of the story the first to be broadcast? It was a bad attempt at tarnishing the Etsu's image. Browse through NL and you will find the father and the girl's sides of the story. |
emmysenior: Were it to be otherwise, they will take to streets and start killing innocent people all in the name of fighting for allah.Lol. This one is a joker. So all the people who converted to christianity were charmed? |
pek: just an advise, go and study/learn homophones. What has that to do with the topic? Did he communicate, yes? Most of The successful people in the world know nothing like homophones, man. Get outta that english textbook and stop deceiving yaself that it matters.
This story has not in any way told us the man's role in the abduction of the girl, so, where is the exoneration coming from?
CAN |
The thing is paining some people here o. ![]() So when they have no reasonable contribution, they talk of bombings. If Islam is about bombings, would any of you be alive? |
Good ![]() |

Afam4eva: Anyways, i'm creating my own religion. You can join it when i'm done with the business plan.Business plan? Abeg! Make u join Islam nahh. Superb! ![]() |
Afam4eva: In the spirit of conversion, i want to convert you to Christianity. Will you oblige?Lol ![]() I dont know much about Christianity, actually. The little I know is not favourable. On the other hand, I have practised Islam all my life and I Looove it. In the spirit of conversion, how about converting you to Islam? ![]() |
Eiyyyyah Etsu Nupe vindicated. Alhamdulillah. All the people bad mouthing the old man better go ask whatever they worship for forgiveness. But ermmm, I am more concerned about sister Aisha. The light Allah has shown you will forever shine in your heart. Congrats sis. |
It is scary, really. In your shoes, I'd run Op. |
tbaba1234: Yep! One woman is hard enoughIf you were in the shoes of the brother who got the double blessing, what would you do? |
As salaam alaykum, It may be too preemptive of you, my brother, to JUDGE it to be "WRONG". The question arises that "upon whom is the Zakat-l-fitri obligatory? It is obligatory upon "any MUSLIM who have the FINANCIAL MEANS TO DO SO. The Fard status of this is not waived because you are student or not. The father of the student is giving one sa'a because he has to pay it upon those who are dependant on him while the student pays if he has reached the age of discernment,is not poor or needy and have the Financial means as a MUSLIM who has fasted and needs to be purified too. Some students are richer than their fathers! Shayk ibn Baaz opined that is compulsory upon the husband to give a sa'a on behalf of the wife even the wife has means to do so. The scholars also says it is birr-al walidayn(kindness to parent) not to stop our father to give on our behalf even if we 've the means to do it for ourselves. However if the student's consent is sought by his father or the student( knowing that this is obligatory upon him) 'INSTRUCT' or 'DELEGATE' his father or anyone to give on his behalf, then he has fufilled this obligation. Allaah knows and we do not know.
I understand your post. But I think general is talking in terms of whether it b3comes OBLIGATORY on the student to pay even though it's been paid on his behalf. I think even though he can pay, the Obligation is already lifted once someone else pays on his behalf just like the wife wouldnt have to pay as long as her husband pays. She can, still. |
eluquenson: Yes, it is obligatory for the student to pay if he has the fund to do so, irrespective of whether the father pays for him or not.I dont think it is obligatory once the parents pay. I think it only matters that the one sa'a is paid on behalf of that person whether by himself or by somebody else. Wa Allahu a'lam |
You mean the OP is a "working boy"?
I mean similar threads are now common. What does working boy mean? |
tbaba1234: @ boldedAre you scared?? |
And still people dont get what a CLASS difference is. They still wouldn't understand why a woman wouldn't marry below her class. Class, not in riches. Intellectual, educational, riches and all. |
This is the new trend unfortunately. |
Beautiful poem. It sure would get a sister or more ![]() |
