No one is a fool here and they recognize the fact that one has to be weary of the Chinese loan but here are the real point the guy made to counter your Aunty you’re so much willing to lick her behind.

1. The only pitfall with Chinese loans is when you’re unable to pay back they takeover the project as their own(has happened in some other African countries) however, the infrastructure has been put in place and they won’t remove it.

2. The West don’t care if you use the loan for the purpose it is meant for. They don’t care if the money is embezzled or not. That is why they keep giving loans to corrupt regime of GEJ because they more you embezzle the more you’re unable to pay and the more enslaved you become.

3. The Chinese don’t deal with thieves, they put their money where their mouth is and make sure the loans are used for the purpose they’re meant for.

4. This is the most dangerous part of the western loan. The Chinese don’t require the government to retrench its civil Servants when they default or are unable to pay up. The West on the other hand as part of its loan conditions will require the government to retrench Ita civil servants.

The bottom line is that, everyone recognize that China is not Santa Claus but their intention is far more genuine and open than the west’s. Even the west recognize this and they fear China taking over but with lesser or no intention to enslave that is why they’ve being in a panick mode since the China-Africa summit.

They know their milking cows are about to be set free. If not when was the last time a British PM or a German chancellor or French President visited Africa let alone in the same year.

Unfortunately for them and fortunately for Africa, their leader(the US) is under the leadership of a mad man.
Taking out loans is never any country's best move, but doing so to grow, build and upgrade infrastructure is pretty much standard everywhere, the only pitfall is when you are unable to pay back when you are irresponsible and corrupt when you mismanaged the loans and soon.

In our case today under the current administration, they have specific projects attached to each loan requirement and the Chinese, not only demand that you justify and the attached project, they also expect you to first put some skin in the game by committing your own funds in form of counterpart funding to show that you are serious and fully committed unlike before when past administrations borrow, loot, embezzle and abandon, there's no room for all that today and this is what's driving the looters crazy because there are zero looting opportunities.

Oby and OBJ her Boss looted $20 billion power funds and gave us nothing but continued darkness in return.

Oby/ OBJ, PDP and Jona accumulated the largest revenue in the history of Nigeria, I mean hundreds of billions, but they stole everything and left nothing but thousands of abandoned projects all over Nigeria, still unstable electricity, bad and death trap roads, no bridges, lousy health care system, horrible schools and education system and so on.

....but guess what, they also borrowed billions on top of everything they looted.

Jona borrowed from his first day in office till the last week he spent in office, he was even borrowing hundreds of billions to pay workers salaries till may 2015, the same month he left office.

Fact is, I trust PMB with our money and every kobo loan.

I was old enough in 1984 to know who PMB is, I can remember TELL magazine publications on how PMB diverted PTF funds running into millions yet your Mr. integrity never refuted any of the accusations
In 1977, the military head of state, Lt. Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, set up a crude oil sales tribunal to investigate the operations of the Nigerian National Oil Company (NNOC, which metamorphosed into NNPC same year). The tribunal found out that in three years, NNOC had failed to collect its equity share of oil produced by Shell, Mobil and Gulf. As a joint venture partner, NNOC was entitled to 182.95 million barrels of oil production. But NNOC did not find buyers for its own share, thereby losing a potential income of $2.8 billion. But it was instead reported by the media that $2.8 billion was missing.

Transparent:
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has berated the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, over the federal government’s empowerment of some traders with N10,000 in Osun State.

https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Osinbajo.jpeg

PDP’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it was a shame that Osinbajo could condescend to empower “Agbo jedi” sellers with N10,000 in Osun State.

Sharing a photograph of those empowered on his Twitter handle, Ologbondiyan wrote, “It’s a shame that a pastor and a professor of law, VP @ProfOsinbajo will stoop this low to encourage the 10k “agbo jedi” empowerment in Osun.

“Aregbe has made life so pitiable for Osun citizens.”

Osinbajo had on Monday arrived in Iwo, Osun State, to launch an empowerment programme for 30,000 traders across the state.

The programme tagged ‘Tradermoni’ is an initiative of the Federal Government in collaboration with the Bank of Industry for petty traders.

Each of the 30,000 traders are billed to receive the sum of N10,000 to boost their businesses.

Executive Director of BOI, Toyin Adeniji, said the bank would not relent until every Nigerian who is willing, has access to loans irrespective of their status or level of education.

https://dkmngr.com/pdp-mock-osinbajo-empower/
....but under the same PDP looters and OBJ, Nigeria accumulated the largest revenue in the history of Nigeria, but instead of sharing 1 kobo with Nigerians or to develop Nigeria, they pocket every kobo and left is still in darkness and thousands of abandoned projects all over Nigeria.

N10,000 in the hands of thousands or millions of Nigerians circulating within the Nigerian economy means economic activities and regeneration, it means jobs, self sufficiency and so on, a critical economic factor that these looting and stealing PDP clowns don't understand.

Nuzo1:
Singapore is 70% Chinese. The rest are Malays and Indians. Fact.

Singapore was rejected and expelled from Malaysia. Mostly because the Malays thought they were going to be a clog the wheel of Malaysian development. Singaporeans were so poor, dirty and uneducated. Fact.

The rest of the things you said here does not exist. I am restrained to call you a liar because you just may sincerely think you are right.

Singapore, like most south east Asian countries couldn't have gotten any financial or political support from China when for years China shut its doors to the world in the name of cultural revolution. This was the time Mao Zedong held sway. No money, little education and retrogressive communist policies. This was the worst time for the chinese. The communist Chinese government were only using their little money to sponsor communist parties in all of Asia.

The democratic and progrssive Singaporean government led by Lee Kuan Yew never saw eye to eye with Mao's communist China who did everything possible to overthrow the PAP party. So, how could Mao invest in a country he hates? Remember, Singapore had a good rapport and struggle with Taiwan. An abomination to the chinese.

Matter of fact, Singapore was called upon to assist China with some economic, financial, technological and social policies/support as soon as Deng Xiaoping took over from Mao and the famous four. This call produced produced one of the biggest tech hubs in Asia. As we speak, Singapore is the largest foreign investors in mainland china.

Now, let me give you a little idea of how Singapore developed.

1. Their leaders mapped out sound policies with focus and deadlines.

2. Their leaders had the political will to implement these sound policies.

3. Though they had different races and tribes; their leaders tried to expunge nepotism and corruption. Change began with the Lee kuan Yew's cabinet...not with the masses.

4. The Singaporeans saw the honesty in the leadership of their country, and thereby gave their full support to whatever will move the country forward.

5. Singapore was hugely financed by the Americans as they were training and using Singaporeans to service their war equipments that were used in Vietnam war. It was expensive to fly these equipments back to USA for servicing. This is why Singapore later became a leader in service industry. Ships, aircrafts etc.

6. Singapore also received a lot of loans from the Americans in compensation of allowing them use their land and waters for launching their aircrafts during the war.

Nigeria also received loans and aids from U.K.and USA at the same time with Singapore, SK, Taiwan and HK, but what did they do with it? They squandered it. They had and most still have no morals and no drop of political will.

Singapore was rated lower than DR congo in the 60s.
But today, Singapore is the 3rd largest exporter of refined crude after USA and Norway. Please, note that Singapore has no single drop of crude oil in their land.

So, for how long are we going to keep make excuses for Nigeria? I even hear people talk about how tribes are the problem...and I laugh so hard. Do you know how many tribes Indonesia has? Singapore has many tribes too, but most baffling is that they have about 3 different races. That is worst to keep together than tribes who just look alike but may speak a little different languages.

It was character that was enforced by equal and efficient justice system that developed Singapore and any other developed nation you see today. China didn't develop it for them.

Matter of fact, Singapore developed China.
Apart from your unproven assertions and old and negligible war time relationship with the US, I don't even see any deviation from my assertions about the differences between both countries in terms of leadership, societal and cultural different that makes it impossible for Nigeria to be like Singapore.

Exactly what extra views have you raised that's any different from my own?

You opined that other people are making accuses and you end up with a laundry list of the same excuses, your own excuses.

Stop making excuses for Nigeria's failure. The same brain God gave Singaporeans is the same brain he gave Nigerians. The difference is that the Nigerian has refused to use his brain. You people keep supporting politicians who cannot differentiate their left hand from their right all because they are from your tribe and/or religion.

Nigerians know what need to be done to move the country forward but many Nigerians are too complacent. Most Nigerians are too selfish. As long as they and their immediate family members are comfortable, everyone else can go to hell. As long as they are living in their big mansions with walls as high as the wall of Jericho with soldiers and policemen safe guarding their homes and families, they can care less if the country goes up in flames.

Nigeria will never be like Singapore or other developed countries because most Nigerians lack the passion, intelligence, selflessness and will power to move their country forward. They are content living off the breadcrumbs that the political elite throw at them while they sing their praises on social media including Nairaland and wallow in extreme poverty.
1. In one breath, I was making up excuses for your own country's failure and Nigerians have the same brains like the people in Singapore.

2. In another hypocritical and double talk breath according to you, most Nigerians are too selfish. As long as they and their immediate family members are comfortable, everyone else can go to hell. As long as they are living in their big mansions with walls as high as the wall of Jericho with soldiers and policemen safe guarding their homes and families, they can care less if the country goes up in flames.

They are content living off the breadcrumbs that the political elite throw at them while they sing their praises on social media including Nairaland and wallow in extreme poverty.

3. So, if like you said, we have the same brains like the people in Singapore, why are we all of a sudden different based on your own set of excuses why we are not like Singapore and how Nigerians lack the passion, intelligence, selflessness and will power to move their country forward.

Exactly why are we like that if our brains are really the same like the people in Singapore?

If I was making up excuses for your failure in Nigeria, then why all of a sudden you listed the same set of excuses why you can not be like Singapore?

Many of you are nothing but hypocrites and you talk from both sides of your hypocritical mouth.

So, You are trying to create an excuse for Nigeria's inability to grow. That, my friend, is pathetic. Give Singapore what you claim above and they will still succeed. You make it sound like life was a bed of roses for them from the start.
See all our natural resources we've been unable to utilize in diversifying the country. The same crude of yesterday is still the sole provider.
See the population you see as a curse is actually called manpower elsewhere. A good number of them educated but under-utilized. There is plan for only very few of them.
What could have brought them into use is large scale industrialization. But even that is a pipe dream when you consider our infrastructures. Electricity so irregular and so expensive, roads so bad it's a risk even walking on them. So industry cannot survive.

Please, don't make excuses for Nigeria.
This is what I don't get about many of you people.

You are sitting here blabbing about electricity, but in Nigeria, the PDP spent 16 years in office, they budgeted and stole funds for electricity and in return, you end up with nothing but darkness, the same PDP accumulated the largest revenue ever in the history of Nigeria, but still left you thousand of abandoned projects all over Nigeria, but guess what, the same ipob losers and hypocrites this thread are crying and wailing about infrastructures and electricity are still in love and supporting the same PPD and the same politician responsible for your lack of development.

Is population the only reason why the US is more developed than Nigeria?

Population is not an issue for them because of their kind of society, age of development and cultural ways.

Do you share the same age?

Have you been making your own decisions and developing since 1776 like the US

Do they have 3 major languages, tribal societies and frictions like you have in Nigeria

Do they play ethnic and tribal cards when their corrupt and lawless people are captured and prosecuted like you tribal bigots do in Nigeria?

Nigeria of course is not a well managed country, but comparing both countries missed the mark because of geography, culture, national character, access to tools of development and manpower.
