The Federal Government has also approved US $47.5m for Automatic Fuel Management and Sensor System, which will help to know the actual production and consumption of oil in the country.
“FEC approved US $973.6m contract for the construction of 420.6 km Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe road. The project scope is the expansion of the current two-lane highway into a dual carriage way. Politics › Breaking News:: PMB Flags-off N22.7b Jada Town Road, Leads To Atiku's Hometown. by deomelo(op): 11:54pm On Aug 26, 2018 |
The minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola yesterday, flagged-off the 112km dilapidated Jada town road, which leads to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s hometown, at the cost of N22.7bn.
While speaking at the occasion, the minister said the contract is in line with the present administration’s commitment to addressing infrastructural deficit in the country.
The minister, who was represented by the minister of state, Alhaji Mustafa Baba Shehuri, said the project is aimed at providing the much-needed impetus to stimulate economic growth and the ease of doing business with neighbouring Cameroon Republic and other states.
“The road serves as a vital link between Taraba State and Cameroun, as well as Mambila Hydro Power plant and other agricultural communities,” he said.
He stated that the road has outlived its service life and is characterised with several failed sections, multiple cracks, depression and washouts at the edges at different sections of the existing alignment.
The minister, who said the contract would last for 36 months, directed the contractor-Traicta Nigeria Limited to commence work immediately and warned the firm against poor job.
In his address, chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Media, Alhaji Abdulrazak Namdas, representing Atiku’s constituency, said the votes in his area are intact for President Buhari.
He said with the award of the project, the people of his constituency have no alternative presidential candidate than Buhari.
Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow, appealed to the Federal Government to also consider other federal roads in the state, which are in bad condition for reconstruction.

iro yi ti po juuuuu [/s] At the site of Loko-Oweto Bridge across River Benue, with contract number 6108, the project was awarded to Messers Reynolds Construction Company (Nig) limited at the cost of US $100.8m on 2nd November, 2011 during former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. The contract was then augmented to US $144.1m in June 2015, with the extended completion date of 29th November, 2018.The 82 km road was estimated to cost US $42.4m and is expected to be completed by 2018 though is presently at 15.41% complete.
The work which included the construction of 7.5km dual carriage roads is at 82. 63% completed as the contractor has completed all pier segments, pier segments extensions, closures, expansion beams and expansion joint on bridge number 1 (East) and bridge number 2 (East and West) thereby opening the bridges to construction traffic

Please don't also forget that the Yoruba did not take part in voting the PDP in 1999 but had the guts to claim the presidency after OBJ was crowned. Remember the famous statement from one of the sons of the SW who said that PDP was implementing Afenifere agenda. So if it is about reaping where you did not sow please don't go there. That was a PDP affair and Yoruba people care less about OBJ and the PDP so of what relevance and importance are your illogical and irrelevant PDP tales? |

Buhari has failed, he can only win because he is contesting in Nigeria where people are moved by ethnic and religious considerations. If it were in sane climes, he would never become a politician , same can be said about most of the politicians in Nigeria . DozieInc: How would voting APC in 2019 guarantee Igbo presidency in 2023??
What has the APC government done to include Igbos?
What major project has been completed or started in the SE since 2015??
Has the Buhari administration been beneficial to the Igbos?
Does Tinubu harbour a personal ambition for 2023?
Honestly, the Buhari administration so far has confirmed the suspicions of most Igbos -he is not a nationalist and is a nepotic. He seems too outdated to govern a complex and diverse country as Nigeria, his administration has failed woefully to deliver on his campaign promises. The regions that voted massively for him (SW and The middle belt) have their fair share of disappointment in this administration.
Anyone that talks of voting Buhari come 2019 is either selfish and wicked or ignorant. We know the current admin is working on a lot of projects in the SE including the 2nd NB that the PDP you followed for 16 years didn't bother to start and complete, but you are yet to ask yourself the same question
Why not ask yourself or even show yourself the projects the PDP started and completed in the SE less than 3 years from 1999-2003 and even within the 16 years they spent in office.
If you are going to ask silly questions, do it with a little common sense and intelligence.
You don't need any excuse to keep following the PDP, just keep following, self-destruction is your societal character anyways.. |

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has set up a committee to resolve the impasse over the demolition of Yinka Ayefele’s Music House in Ibadan.
Mr Ajimobi had set up the committee at a reconciliatory meeting with the popular musician in his office on Thursday in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr Ayefele in company with some of his workers had arrived at the Governor’s Office at about 11.30 a.m.
The governor said the demolition exercise was neither a witch-hunt nor politically motivated, insisting it was due to contravention of the state ’s property laws.
He also urged Mr Ayefele to ensure that his radio station embraced ethical reportage of the issue.
The Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, who was at the Governor’s Office in company of some monarchs, also pleaded with the governor to resolve the impasse.
Earlier, Mr Ayefele had stated that his office responded to all letters forwarded to it by the state government.
He expressed regrets at not being able to see the governor, adding that the emissaries he sent failed to deliver his messages.
Mr Ayefele stated that he remains a law-abiding citizen who is ready to comply with the regulations of the state government.
NAN reports that the committee, comprising of government official and some workers of Fresh FM station, including Mr Ayefele, had since commenced the resolution process.
The meeting, which lasted hours, was later adjourned for another day. (NAN)

@ OP.
Well stated views, but we all know your people are generally against what's right and best for them especially when it comes to Nigeria.
Based on their general attitude against Nigeria as a country and their eternal and needless animosity against folks from outside their borders, I don't think they are capable or can make productive and rational political and social decisions.
The SE just like the rest of Nigeria has 2 choices, reach out to other regions in Nigeria and form alliances to achieve your goals or get out of Nigeria. Shouting and playing the enemy of my enemy is my friend kind of spoilers all over the place is for losers with zero sense of ambition and belonging.
Other regions in Nigeria are blessed with powerful and influential figures steering things politically on behalf of their people, but they don't have such figures in the SE.
Positively, things are changing politically and mentally in the SE because many in the SE are embracing the APC, we've seen defections, encouraging rallies with strong attendance by folks in the SE. |
