Politics › 2019: Mind Your Business - Tinubu To Obasanjo by deomelo(op): 11:29pm On Jun 24, 2018
A national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, on Sunday asked former President Olusegun Obasanjo to stop interfering in the affairs of the ruling party.

He spoke in Abuja at the venue of the national convention of the party.

Mr Tinubu, who described Mr Obasanjo’s interference as “busy body”, argued that the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari in three years could not be compared to those of the administrations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which ruled the country for unbroken 16 years.

Mr Obasanjo was president between 1999 and 2007 on the platform of the PDP.

The former president had earlier in the year written an open letter to Mr Buhari asking him not to run for a second term because he had performed poorly.

However, the president ignored the advice as he announced at the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja that he would seek reelection next year.

Mr Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, said Mr Obasanjo did not have the right to tell the president not to run again.

“Thank God he (Obasanjo) is not a part of our party; this busy body. Unfortunately he has torn the card of his previous party so he has no home,” he said.

He thanked Mr Buhari for his decision to run again, saying “run, contest, you must.”

He also appreciated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for being “a great fountain of knowledge” and for not undermining his (vice president) leaders.

On the convention, Mr Tinubu expressed joy that it was successfully conducted, stating “today through convention we have changed the leadership of our party, not at gun point.”

Congratulating the newly elected national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor said his (Oshiomhole) emergence was a true reflection of the saying that “no matter how short a man is you will see the sky.”

He admonished the new NWC members to work hard for the party because its members had put their trust in them and would not afford to fail.

He said, “In trust we put you; that trust you cannot abuse. We will be with you, support you and the day we need to fight you, we will fight.”

Mr Tinubu said despite predictions that the APC would implode during the convention, it remained intact.

“The ‘pigs’ and their fortune tellers predicted the party will fall apart but I thank the (national convention) committee for making the convention a success,” he said.

Dreadful:
You need an urgent brain surgery. So to your little understanding, because a few faceless hungry urchins from the Igbo extraction are supporting an hausa candidate for presidency everyother Igbo person is now confused? You are plain stupid! So to your fish brain before Igbos can drive home their demand every single Igbo person must agree? Mumu what happened to the saboteurs who might have been benefitting from the status quo so wouldn't want a change? Infact you're below my league. Fool on.
Instead of huffing and puffing with your meaningless and deceptive rubbish about faceless hungry people making decisions for you, why not just tell or explain to us who ibo people, in general are voting for in 2019 if they are not voting for any Northern candidate as suggested and endorsed by the so-called ibo PDP leaders.

Let's break it down, we know your SE states are predominantly PDP and the PDP as a political party participating in the 2019 elections have zoned their presidential candidacy to the North so regardless the endorsement by ibo leaders and due to the fact that ibo people are predominantly PDP, you and your leaders only option in 2019 is a Northerner/Hausa Fulani.

Your leaders at least are smart enough to see and quickly adjusted to their sad political realities and conundrum, but not you, you are sitting here doing shakara and bluffing when in fact you are in the same boat with your ibo leaders.

The last time we witnessed beheadings, amputation, and such madness was under GEJ when BH was releasing videos of beheadings, looting, pillaging, burning and blowing up Nigerians every day and even all the way to Abuja, they even took control of nearly the whole of Borno state just like your ISIS idols did in Irak and Syria.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in the South East have said they fully support the decision to zone the party’s slot for the 2019 Presidential election to the North and reserve the spot for National Chairman to the South.

The Chairman of the party in the South East, Mr Austin Umahi, made this known after a closed-door meeting with other party leaders in the zone.

During the meeting, governors from the party, National Assembly members, and the chairman were mandated to liaise with other zones to reach an understanding in respect of the next national chairman of the party.

Other resolutions include support for party’s candidate for the Anambra State governorship election and the unity of the country.

Politics › Re: NASS Replies Buhari, Defends Changes Made To 2018 Budget (FULL TEXT) by deomelo: 11:20pm On Jun 23, 2018
This is why Nigeria must restructure or break up as needed. Our collective association remains very detrimental and absolutely pointless especially.

We have very well defined separate arms of government, but the same arms of governments are having serious issues staying in their separate lanes, especially the legislative and it's needless and constant desires to usurp the duties and obligations of the executive from top to bottom.

With eh current governing arrangements, Nigeria cannot progress or find any meaningful development since all the arms of governments have their own ideas per how and when to do A and how and when to do B and even how much we should spend on A and how much we need to spend on B.

The dreams, ideas, and policies of the executive remain in limbo and subject to legislative sabotage and mindless legislative self-interests.

Who is really in charge and who did Nigerians put in office to make decisions and to run the country?
Politics › Re: NASS Replies Buhari, Defends Changes Made To 2018 Budget (FULL TEXT) by deomelo: 10:46pm On Jun 23, 2018
Nigeria is basically a salary only country since the FG eats nearly the whole of the National budget with almost nothing for the rest of Nigeria and Capital projects and whatever they budget for capital projects us still subject to padding and corruption.

Under GEJ, they budget little or nothing for capital projects hence lack of progress or any meaningful infrastructures from roads to bridges, hospitals, schools, healthcare and so on.

The current government is trying to rectify the situation with more funds for Capital projects, but the forces of evil, greed, and corruption are still at work and they are making sure nothing changes.

We have no business running the kind of system of government we are running today, it's too expensive and corrupt, it's a self-interest form of government full of national parasites and unpatriotic elements.

We should as a matter of urgency scrap this system of government and even head back to regionalism.

Well, how are we sure that here is Ekiti state? Even, if this is the newly commissioned bridge, there is nothing bad in repair or adding finishing touches. Whatever the name given to this, its all about MAINTENANCE which is very paramount in any project either Government or Individual's project regardless of political party. Even a new car u bought,u still have to maintain it. Maintenance culture is very common in advanced countries. As for the bridge, that is MAINTENANCE.
lol @ maintenance in less than 1 month..

Bridges are built to last for 30 - 100 years, but maintenance is needed in less than a month simply because of shoddy, substandard and mediocre construction job.

Asphalt failure can occur in less than a week after the road is released for use. I have been into construction (home and abroad) for over ten years, asphalt is not like concrete that's why they conduct laboratory test after each layer of asphalt pavement.

Thank God for Nnadi Kanu. If not him who would have remembered these war veterans. Buhari is trying his best to buy the favour of once 5% people.
