NIGERIAN'S ROGUE JUDGES AND AND THE WAR AGAINST CORRUPTION

Few years ago, when Peter Odili obtained a permanent injunction to practically end his trial for corruption, many people thought that it was a joke that the judiciary will purge itself of its rogue elements and sanitise the course of justice. So far, nothing has happened. The Nigeria Supreme Court has not sat to declare the idea of a permanent injunctions that completely rules out the revisiting of the case perverse. The Nigeria Supreme Court has not done anything because Peter Odili's wife, seats at the Supreme Court. Today, Peter Odili walks the street a free man, enjoying the proceeds of crime with is judge wife, while many people whose lives would have been changed by the billions he misappropriated, continue to suffer.

Enter Olusola Saraki, who seems to have gone a step further. He has got a judge to permanently adjourn his case. Again in the hope that the court will give him the same protection from prosecution it accorded Peter Odili. Who could think of an adjournment being indefinite and a permanent protection from lawful prosecution?, except an evil genius Nigerian Judge. I find the idea of a indefinite adjournment in the way it is understood and applied in Nigeria difficult to conceptualise.

'Sine Die' adjournment is simply adjournment, without a return date. It can be a way to out rightly dismissal of very difficult cases. In a way, it denies finality to litigation and was not meant and should never be used in the circumstance some Nigerian judges have used it. Using it in a criminal case is worrisome. It is generally discouraged because it calls the integrity of the court into question. It is often the first sign that the court has has other interest apart from that of justice to protect. I hope that the intention of the judge is not to ensure that the case against Saraki permanently remain in the Cooler, like that of Peter Odili. I want to believe that the EFCC, will quickly restart the case and get right the procedure the Judge relied on in his judgement to ensure that the case is brought back to court as this is only option available to it, if indeed, it has honest intention to bring Saraki to justice.

A SaharaReporters account of events read this way: "Justice Liman, who is yet to be apprehended, reportedly took $2million from Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party to give a judgement that “overthrew” the faction led by a former Governor of Borno state, Ali Modu Sheriff.

"Governor Wike reportedly transferred the funds in cash to Liman in Ghana, before it was ferried to his home in Port Harcourt. The bribe was to be shared between Liman and the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Auta. When the team arrived the house in Port Harcourt where the loot was kept, Gov. Wike mobilized his men to counter the DSS team with the aid of the State’s Police Commissioner.
The same Makarfi the crooked and corrupt PDP clown wants to be the president of Nigeria.

PDP and corruption are like brothers and sisters..

Inside the very 'corrupt' world of Nigeria's Judiciary

Nigerian Judges have had their homes ransacked. Here's a tale of the cesspool of filth in which they thrive

At the time of writing, two Supreme Court Justices in Sylvester Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro, Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division, Justice Mohammed Ladan Tsamiya; Justice Adeniyi Ademola( Federal High Court); the Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice I. A. Umezulike; Justice Kabiru Auta of Kano State High Court; and Justice Muazu Pindiga ( Gombe State High Court), are singing in DSS custody.

Said Abdullahi Garba, a DSS personnel who signed a statement sent to Pulse in the wake of the raids: "In one of the States where the Service operations were conducted, credible intelligence revealed that the Judge had Two Million United States Dollars ($2,000,000 USD) stashed in his house. When he was approached for due search to be conducted, he in concert with the State Governor, mobilized thugs against the Service team".

The Governor referred to in this statement turned out to be the number one citizen of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who obstructed the arrest of Justice Abdullahi Liman of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt; aided by the State Police Commissioner, Francis Odesanya.

"Another source also stated that one Justice Uche Nma Agomoh of the Federal High Court in the same city who was a lackey of the former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Joseph Daudu was also involved in the scam.

All weekend, Pulse received tons and tons of calls and E-mails detailing the corruption in the judiciary. Each E-mail revealed more and more layers of mind-boggling corruption and kickbacks.

Judgments and rulings have been up for sale in Nigeria for as long as anyone can recall, some of the evidence in our in-box reveals.

The DSS was also armed with search warrants, the body has since explained. There'll also be tapes and video evidences to nail the Judges in court.

Said the source: “If you crosscheck, the operation was spontaneous and simultaneous in the judges’ quarters. It started between 10.30pm and 11pm on Friday night. It was painstaking and professionally conducted. Technically speaking, the DSS gave the time and the cameras used for the operation were digitalised...

“The DSS is in custody of some audio and video tapes of some of these judges. By the time we start running these tapes, Nigerians will appreciate that we have done a good job.

“The DSS did not just jump into investigation, it received petitions on these judges on how they literally took money. The worst aspect is that they took money with both hands.

Some of these things were becoming disturbing and people were bringing facts and figures. We went to verify these. If a judge builds a house, it is easier to discover because he might have bought the land from an individual or an agency or estate agent. There is no way you can cover up all these things.”

The Judges also took some of their corrupt activities out of the country's shores, according to the story in The Nation.

Said the source: “A Supreme Court Justice has a property worth N1.5billion. If not DSS, which other agency will unravel this? Are you expecting the police to take on these judges?

“Another Supreme Court Justice credited everything to his son. If the son started earning a living from the day he was born( assuming he was earning N1million), he cannot be able to earn one quarter of what he is claiming to have.

“We said it is very simple, tell us the business or the work you have done to have been able to earn so much.

“A judge entered a department store not to buy anything but to collect bribe, inside a supermarket from a go-between. Unknown to the judge and the collector, there are cameras in the store. The video clip is there.

“Another judge under probe has perfected the art of being a bribe collector on behalf of others. He is notorious in crossing the borders to Benin Republic, Niger Republic and Ghana. We know some of the hotels where he used to lodge.”

The DSS source went on: “We have the case of a judge who issued bail conditions to an accused person but the conditions were not met and the suspect was released. After the court session, the accused person sent word to the judge that he could not meet the conditions but take this amount to set me free.

“Of course, the judge did not act alone; the court clerk, the bailiff and the Registrar were involved. The DSS knew all that transpired, the amount involved and who took what. When we confronted the Registrar to give us the details of how the bail conditions were met, there was no single evidence.

“The judge in Port Harcourt is under probe for about $2.5million. Out of that amount, $500,000 was moved elsewhere and we know where it went".

Why don't you tell how it's possible for Buhari underperform for 3years ?

Or how it's possible for Buhari not to have prosecuted a single corrupt politician in 3years ?

Or how it's possible for Buhari not to have prosecuted a single Killer herdman in 3years?
1. The fact that PMB is completing left and right all the abandoned projects left by your PDP uncles in less t than 3 years means he is over overperforming.

2. We have 3 arms of government and PMB represents the executive arm of government while another arm of government aka the Judiciary deals with and adjudicate court and proceedings. he can not adjudicate court cases.

PMB is not responsible for or can prevent corrupt public officials on trial from filling endless injunctions and motions to stall or prolong court proceedings, the judiciary is responsible for that and PMB as a co

PMB is not a member of the Judicial branch of government and cannot intervene in any kind of court or criminal proceedings.

4. When was the last time you questioned the judiciary for granting corrupt people perpetual injunctions for any kind of prosecution?

Were you under the rock in Afghanistan when GEJ and the PDP looked the other way while Ibori dodged the court for years before ending up in jail in the UK?

If you really are concerned about criminal convictions in our courts, face your corrupt Judiciary and criminal politicians corrupting the judiciary to get favorable judgments and injunctions.

There are many judges on trial for bribery and corruption so who is bribing them to postpone cased and grant long injunctions and motions? PMB?

Tinubu's initial plan was Atiku and himself as vice, but after he visited OBJ.

OBJ told him he will never support Atiku and Muslim - Muslim ticket will not fly

Meaning He too can't run.

So he needed someone he can really control to stand in his place - Osinbajo

The Mega plan is Buhari can die at anytime and Osinbajo becomes president.

Making him fully in charge.
But the cabal seeing his plans and the plot to position his men in National Assembly and key ministerial positions.

Formed another group to weaken him.
But Buhari sidelined him because he wanted too much.

A few things he wanted -

- Finance Ministerial position
- Petroleum Ministerial position for his son
- Ministry of works
- For his company to collect IGR of Abuja
- His company to manage TSA - Senators blocked this but he still manages some %

Buhari saw his greed and knew, that he can't be trusted, he had to align with other cabals

Till this year, Buhari not sure if Orji and co can deliver SE had to fall back to SW seeing that SS is no go area

The east versus Buhari show down is going to really be after 2019 election when the results eventually trickles in and Bubu realizes the SE gave him another 5%. This time around, he won't be running for no second term and the Easterners can get their Ugwu exporter governor to complete the Niger Bridge from their Ugwu proceeds. And then they can let this man can actually focus on the SW and bring more and better meaningful projects down here coz we know if Osibanjo and Tinubu were Ibos, the entire SE would worship Buhari. Buharis crime isn't because he's a Moslem or bigot, it's because he pitched his political tent with the SW and won by defeating GEJ the god of the SE. The same man who spent five years yet who didn't commission one single project in the entire SE, yet these same set of people are fast to attribute every single project done by Buhari to their demised god, Jona. For every Yoruba out there, if you get fooled by the SE and vote for their candidate, this same people will ensure that this new leader gives nothing but misery to the SW, the same way they poisoned the mind and soul of the GEJ against us. If they say Buhari hasnt commissioned one single project, remember GEJ didn't even start a single project in the entire SW and Bubu has commenced with the Lagos Ibadan, Lagos Abeokuta, Sagamu road, the Oyo Abeokuta roads among other economical project and don't forget the rail roads. I personally saw the one linking Lagos to Abeokuta coming from Agege to Sango then to Ibarapa. There are still plenty more to come from our able super minister and Vice President. Vote for the development of Yoruba land and ignore all this political noise and propaganda and politics of bitterness from these angry folks. God bless the SW
Well said.

The man died over 21 years ago and we are still talking about completing the project. How long does it take to complete ordinary mausoleum.?

GEJ and 16 years of PDP left countless of uncompleted and abandoned projects all over the country, the same projects Fashola is completing effortlessly with ease.

LAGOS—THE Lagos State Government, yesterday, disclosed that works on the proposed Fourth Mainland Bridge, earlier estimated to gulp N844 billion, would commence before the end of the year as a new investor will be announced by June this year. The gigantic project was stalled a year ago when the state government terminated a contract with a consortium of investors over delay in commencement.

The consortium earlier engaged included: Visible Asset Limited, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) and Access Bank, Hi-tech Construction Limited, Eldorado Nigeria Limited, Nigerian Westminster Dredging and Marine and J.P. Morgan.

The new alignment of the bridge will pass through Lekki, Langbasa and Baiyeiku towns along the shoreline of the Lagos Lagoon estuaries, further running through Igbogbo River Basin and crossing the Lagos Lagoon estuaries to Itamaga Area in Ikorodu. The alignment would further cut through the Itoikin road and the Ikorodu – Sagamu Road to connect Isawo inward Lagos – Ibadan Expressway at Ojodu Berger axis. The four-lane dual carriageway is also designed to have eight interchanges to facilitate effective inter-connectivity between different parts of the state.

The state’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Adebowale Akinsanya,Wednesday , announced the planned commencement date for the bridge in his address at the 2018 Ministerial briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, to mark the third anniversary of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in office. He added that the state government was at the last stage of selection of preferred bidder for the 38 kilometre project. “In the last one year, the state received a series of proposals from prospective partners. As head of the technical committee, we looked at technical proposals submitted by the bidders and after the exercise we ended up short listing three bidders. After that, the finance and technical committee met to check bids submitted. Presently, we are at the last stage, the interview session. By June, we will announce the preferred bidder for the project.’’
