Emeritusseun: u must be living in one bush!.....so u expect d govt to build more schools after d landmark achievemnt fashola made?.....well, ambode constructed two roads each across d 57 areas in lagos immedoately he asssumed office, and he is stil doing more...am very sure u arent confusing lag roads with federal govt's? Even in America and other already developed countries where they have the best schools in every corner of their countries, they are still building new schools to keep up with population growth and keep class sizes low against Lagos state with overcrowded schools and absolutely not enough schools to cater to over populated state where nothing is enough to start with. Btw, Fashola constructed more roads than any government in the hisory of Nigeria and the best bridge in West Africa at the moment aka Lekki Ikpoyi bridge was built by Fashola, not the FG or Ambode. |

Achiles: Obviously you haven't been to Lagos recently. Just this afternoon, I was wondering alone while coming from Epe down to Ajah how this guy did this kind of magic within two years. Fashola did well as a governor, but not anywhere near what Ambode has done. In my life, I have not seen any governor that can be campared to him. where do you want to start from, is it from Abulegba to Berger, Somolu, Epe, Ajah, etc Ambode has rendered Fashola's government a complete fraud and a travesty of competence. I am just blessed to witnesses what is happening in Lagos. Fashola And His Still Unmatched Achievements. PHOTOS.
https://www.nairaland.com/3806623/fashola-still-unmatched-achievements-photos/6 Abeg leave ignorance alone. That's over 6 full pages of projects and achievements by Fashola, I dare you to show us same, filling over 6 NL pages by any governor or public official in the history of Nigeria and I'll log off and quit NL forever. Ambode is a million years far far behind Fashola. In Fashola's first 2 years, he was commissioning multiple projects every week from power plants to housing estates, schools, roads, bridges, hospitals, maternity centers, water works, skills centers, government institutions and so on while ambode after his first 2 years is still taking baby steps with statues and flyover bridge. Please, Ambode is the slowest governor in the history of modern Lagos. |

Development has come to Lagos so rapidly and it is increasing geometrically, that the other parts of Nigeria are left to rot away....
If Lagos were an economy it will b d 5th richest and biggest economy in Africa all thanks to progressive govts in Lagos.....
Lagos is so beautiful that Other not so big cities across Africa are learning from.
Fine, due to the coastal areas in Lagos, they are mostly flooded during the rainy season, and this isn't exclusive to Lagos, but it occurs in more developed places of the world eg UK, US etc..
Lagos has got slums.. Major cities of the world too have got slums..
Lagos is working and moving.... The only state richer than 30Nigerian States combined...
We love our beautiful Lagos... The only modern City in Nigeria that can compete with other major cities of Africa.
God bless Ambode! God bless Tinubu!! God bless SouthWest!!! God bless Nigeria!!!! God bless Africa!!!!! |

This dairy sector alone can generate 1 million jobs at farm level and an additional 500,000 in direct waged employment and another 750,000 jobs in support services. This is a sector that can generate a whooping $2 billion dollar to the country GDP alone if properly harnessed by Ajimobi Administration.
Pls tell me one single policy/action Ajimobi Administration has implemented in relation to the Dairy Sector in Oyo State ? Zero action, zero policy... Ajimobi Administration is sitting on a goldmine, he doesn't even know that he is on a goldmine. I find it amusing when a state governor concern/reduce himself to the paparazzi of mere commissioning of Wamco plant, which is a private initiative with the FG and some folks are hailing him that he is creating jobs & should get credit for it.
It is the total height of irresponsibility, no wonder he can,t pay his workers salaries. [/s] Go and contest for public office and after getting elected, refuse to honor investors invitation to opening and commissioning events, it's your choice so stop crying on the internet. |

Politics › Re: Ajimobi Commissions WAMCO Milk Collection Centre by deomelo: 1:29am On Jun 09, 2017 |
[s] Willie2015: This has nothing to do with Ajimobi... Governor is just doing paparazzi with the commissioning, we should understand issues clearly.
This is just a private initiative as a result of FG mandate requiring milk companies to source 10% of raw milk from locals. We have enough Fulanis in Oyo state as such Wamco is using it as a good initiative to bring them together to get the 10% since they depend 100% on importation.
Wamco had other milk collection centres in Fashola, Akele, Maya and Iseyin....Ajimobi should go and pay his workers salaries. [/s] To start with I don't remember people saying or me saying this Ajimobi or Oyo state is responsible for this plant, but he gets credit for bringing jobs to his state and increasing state revenue aka IGR. When investors don't invest, when there are no jobs, when the IGR is low, you blame the governor from head to toe, but when investors answer his call and invest, IGR goes up and so on, all of a sudden it has nothing to do with the same governor? What a sad load of baseless argument. |

Ologuneruagba: We are only trying to analyze an executive governor travelling for more than an hour to commission a milk collection centre and his Ogun state counterpart going to commission a one room manufacturing unit in Procter & Gamble plant in Agbara. This plant in Oyo state created for jobs and feeds tens of thousands of families so I'll take this over whatever you are talking about in ogun even though I love and appreciate P&G in Ogun. Your priorities are just misplaced because you are so fixated on personalities instead of the thousands of people benefiting from and feeding their families because of plants and expansions by investors like WAMCO. As a citizen, we expect bigger things from these governors considering the resources at their disposal. What are you analyzing? So if any job-creating investor invited you to participate in any commissioning, your answer is going to be CAPTAL NO, because some some confused and misguided analyzer won't like it? We expect bigger things from every public official in Nigeria including governors and the FG, but to insinuate that jobs for tens of thousands of people is not bigger things means you are either contradicting yourself, confused or just don't know what you are talking about. What is bigger things? Don't forget the same P&G just shut down its factory in Ibadan last year June and relocated to Agbara, Ogun state just because of bad road in Oluyole industrial estate. That's a big loss for Ajimbobi considering the fact that the company paid the highest salary per staff in Oyo state. Stop confusing yourself, P/G is still in Ibadan, they only expanded their operations with the new $300 million manufacturing plant in Ogun. Another major investor, Elixir Global Manufacturing Food Limited expanded into Ibadan by buying P&G's Ibadan Healthcare Plant. The purchase of the Ibadan plant combined with the BLA, gives Elixir Global a ready made market to begin with and also provides the ability to launch both Vicks brands and other completely new brands in the large Sub-Saharan African marketplace including Nigeria. Khululiwe Mabaso, Head Corporate Communications/Associate Director, Procter & Gamble, Sub-Saharan Africa had this to say on this agreement: “P&G is delighted to partner with a local Nigerian party to continue building the Vicks brand not only in Nigeria but across many other parts of Africa.
Head Corporate Communications/Associate Director, Procter & Gamble, Sub-Saharan Africa had this to say on this agreement: “P&G is delighted to partner with a local Nigerian party to continue building the Vicks brand not only in Nigeria but across many other parts of Africa.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/02/elixir-global-acquires-100-pgs-ibadan-healthcare-plant/ Obviously, this is even a better deal for Ibadan and Oyo state because by buying this plant and collaborating with P&G, they ae not only going to be making the same P&G products, they are going to expand and step up operations to export their products all over Africa instead of just Nigeria. Elixir collaborating with P&G means a more powerful production and manufacturing force beyond Nigeria. What you are here paingting negative and doind bad bele over is actually a plus for Ibdan and Oyo state. Educate yourself before making ignorant statement. |

FrieslandCampina WAMCO commissions 4.3m-litre capacity plant in Oyo
by ODINAKA ANUDU June 8, 2017 12:13 pm Share this! Tweet this! ! Nigeria’s dairy maker FrieslandCampina WAMCO has today commissioned its milk collection plant in Saki, Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State. The plant has the capacity to hold 12,000 litres of raw milk daily and 4.32 million litres annually. This is FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s fifth milk collection plant in Oyo and will see over 10,000 small-holder farmers participate in the process and earn good income, said the company. Through its Dairy Development Programme(DDP), the dairy maker has been collecting milk from over 70 communities and 7,200 farmers in Oyo State since 2011. With this plant, FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s daily milk collection capacity in Oyo State is 40,000 litres. “Our company has taken a strategic and comprehensive approach to developing the DDP, focusing on key projects, programme content and enabling facilities,” said Ben Langat, managing director of FrieslandCampina WAMCO. “But these investments must be supported by policies and socio-economic infrastructures to realise a robust dairy farming sector that can serve over 180 million Nigerians,” Langat said. He said milk production in Nigeria was still low, adding the DDP could boast of quality milk and empowerment of 900 women. He said the plant would further reduce the distance covered to deliver milk for bulking and help manage quality before the milk was transported to the factory. Ore Famurewa, corporate affairs director, said:”Our DDP model has proven to be successful, hence in February 2017, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Sahel Capital &Advisory and the Oyo State Government signed an MoU to collaborate on the Nigeria Dairy Development. The programme aims to strengthen the Dairy Transformation Agenda of the government by demonstrating proof-of-scale in Nigeria’s processor-led initiatives for dairy development as modelled by FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s DDP.” That's a huge plant.... |

Educated manpower Goos business and conducive environment Good and credible leadership Safety and security Regional stability Good return on investments Access to market and raw materials Disposable cash and local buying power. These factors exists in rhe SW and not very much outside the SW. I don't see investors moving into anywhere in the SS where they kidnapp, burn and blow up investments and general lawless environment with lack of credible6leadership. SE is in the same both because of general lawlessness, communal and societal unrest, endless agitation, instability, low and uneducated manpower and fears of war and lack of direction topped with bad, vision less and indecisive leadership. The North with all their problems and unrest in the North East, they are still moving on economically to some extent with decent IGR and investments. |
