freshest4live: It is true that igbos have rare economic skills and it is nice to believe that you are special and you are the best but when you allow this belief slide into your relationship with others, they come to see you as proud and hateful, and would want to prove that they can do without you at all cost even if it kills them, then you on your own part would feel everybody hates you because of your success only. It's normal psychology and a law of power. The Igbo is narcissistic in that he thinks that he is special and that other people ought to admire him. The Igbo actually imagines that other Nigerians are his inferiors and ought to admire him.
Obviously, Igbos want to be seen in a positive light; indeed, they tell their tall tales of how they are all rich and powerful in order to seem important in other people's eyes.
Have you ever seen a humble Igbo man who does not present himself as god almighty himself even though he is a starving man? If you listened to these people boast you would think that they are as powerful as the gods are supposed to be.
http://chatafrik.com/articles/nigerian-affairs/the-igbo-problem-can-be-fixed/38-the-igbo-problem-can-be-fixed?showall=1&start=4#.WUgr6uvyuWs This is a well documented trait and societal culture. They boas and brag over everything and put other people down when it's not even necessary. This is a sad reflection of their low self esteem and insecurity. |

The truth is that igbos economic, entreprenurial, financial and intellectual prosperity is the major reason of envy by their fellow countrymen. Truth is sacred! Show us any reference or instance where Northerners uttered or inferred such against you or any other tribe or region in Nigeria. You need stop making up rubbish and blaming your paranoid state on other people. All you people do is spread hate and bigotry. |
Politics › Re: Yoruba E Ronu Yin O. by deomelo: 7:16pm On Jun 19, 2017 |
economia: Are you not aware that in 1979, Igbo has only two states, Anambra and Imo whereas Yoruba has four states. Today Igbo has five states and Yorubas has six states. Are you not aware that Igbo has six senators in 1979 whereas Yoruba has twelve senators. Today they have fifteen senators whereas we have eighteen senators. Calculate the percentage increase. Let us ask, who has been marginalized? They will come to us that those Hausas are bad they are not educated, they are Muslims, they want to Islamise Nigeria, they are this and that yet they will go behind to form an alliance with them. Strategically they have been reducing our economic potential because they have been able to increase their slots in geometric progression and ours is in arithmetic progression. More slots in Federal appointments whereas ours have continued to reduce. Are you aware that the Land mass that make up the five Eastern states is not up to Oyo state yet they have been able to create five states out of it. The first group of people that started trading in spare parts are Yoruba particularly our people from Ijebu-Ode but they have been muscled out of the business. The idea of Geo-political Zone was mouthed by Ojukwu to favour the Igbo. Now through Jonathan conference they said they are being marginalized because they are the only Geo-political zone with five states. Can you imagine that? From two states. That is what I called strategic thinking. Unfortunately, Yorubas that went to that conference agreed with them foolishly particularly afenifere in the likes of Yinka Odumakin. What a tragedy. Let's ask them, what did Yorubas that attended the conference brought home? The answer is nothing. The issue of Biafra being championed by Kanu is not by accident, it is a grand design to negotiate for more. Now it is coming out, South East Development commission. Why don't we ask, to be funded by who? If it is agreed they will continue to reduce our economic potential in the Nigerian state. But, come to think of it why don't you let Biafra be. They are adding no value to us and I can bet you that nobody will miss them. Remember that they fired the first shot that started Nigerian civil war. Killing Tafawa Balewa, Ahmadu Bello and some notable Yorubas. Of recent, Chinue Achebe wrote a book "There was a Country". Accusing Awolowo of committing Progrom. What a tragic write up. The question to ask is who started the war? Can I continue to feed my enemy to have more strength to battle me. Igbo would never change. Domination is in their blood and they can only be satisfied if they have what belongs to you and you have not. Yoruba E Ronu yin o.
Pidgin English the only language where question and answer can be the same... Question : Light dey ? Answer: Light dey! Sadly for your write up, Yoruba people are not shallow, myopic, little minded or shortsighted when it comes to such issues like the ones stated in your write up. Landmass, senators, states and elected officials doesn't equate to your capacity and ability to grow, develop, lure investments, grow the Economy, IGR, stable, peaceful and viable society. The north have been playing games with landmass and accumulation of state and the SE have been shouting biafra. states creation, representation and other issues. What have they achieved against the SW? Nothing, the SW is still a million miles ahead of other regions combined. ....but The SW before Nigeria's independence and after independence till today remains the most economically potent region in Nigeria. Nearly all the investments in Nigeria ends up in the SW. The SW is the most peaceful and stable region in Nigeria. The SW commands nearly all the wealth in Nigeria The SW remains not only the economy capital of West Africa, but also the arts and entertainment capital, literary capital, finance and insurance capital, the ICT capital. The SW is home to the largest public works project in Afria The SW is home to the largest industrial base in West Africa The SW is home to the largest single refinery in the world The SW is home to the largest fertilizer plant in Africa The SW is home to the largest Gas plant in Africa The SW is home to the largest petrochemical plant in Africa. Landmass, senators or the amount of states you managed to accumulate doesn't make you or give you any edge, the edge is in your smartness, smart and educated manpower and society, your ability to create a peaceful, safe and secured society, your capacity to create welcoming and conducive environment for businesses and investments to thrive and populate and so on. Always put things in perspective. |

thekoko007: But the state is hugely indebted to the tune of Over 160billion naira Show us any developed entity without debt. Responsible leaders take out loans to build and develop infrastructures which creates jobs, grow the economy and strengthen IGR while useless and irresponsible leaders sits on their hands and do nothing or worry about debt and end up with nothing. Debt is never a problem, the problem is what you do with your debt. Adjust your mentality about debts. |

sisisioge: ...but a whole year is still too long to close a major road. They should work towards the shortest finish time possible not keep being so African with lead times . Surely, you have heard of a shorter finish time for same length of project before, right? What's what doing is worth doing right. I'm sure there are valid reasons for the time frame. Doing it right and eliminating the headache and sufferings associated with that road should be your primary concern and not the duration. |

dedarkman: Nairalanders can always be a jerk. Are you people aware that the road in question has to be reinforced and concreted even before they add asphat? Just be calm it might talk that much as the road carries heavy duty truck, tankers, containers etc. Also the road drainage system has to be well design and constructed as that is always the reason for the road getting bad very fast.
My contribution as a civil engineer. Creating awareness. Not all, just the usual hateful, bitter and angry ipob villagers. |

GworoChewinMaga: 2km road rehabilitation to take one year to complete?
Incompetent buffons Your judgment is based on the fact that you are a road construction engineer and you have relevant engineering reports regarding the project and have concluded it could be finished sooner based on the available report? Your judgment is based on the fact that you've conducted your own EIA and have concluded that it could be done sooner? Your judgment based on the fact that you have calculated and mobilized the required machinery tools and manpower needed to complete the job sooner? Your judgment is based on the fact that you have calculated and secured the required amount required to finish the job sooner? You obviously think they just picked the time frame because they are lazy, incompetent and they don't know what they are doing? The folks involved have built and finished billions of dollars worth of projects so I'm 100% sure they know what they are talking about. Dangote alone is constructing $15 billion refinery, the largest single refinery in the world so I'll go with his conclusion regarding the project instead of your ignorant conclusion. Incompetence is when you make judgments not based on facts and realities on the ground. And you wonder why the man keeps side stepping your hateful and bitter villages. |

Due to HBP or suicide I know this news must be unbearable for your plastic cone skull Abule slum dwellers, waterfront developers, lagoon keepers, unity beggars, hydraulic soup eaters, 2faced snakes, skull mining, head hunting, cone head Muslim Afonjas must be really disappointed with this report.
Biafra have come to stay crying on this thread will not save Afonja or change it, is the chamber of commerce not under the government of Nigeria yet stupid Afonja want to undermine this brave man's office by by claiming non existence of his office.
Afonjas must think that everyone is a coward, and think that the man is a two faced snake like Afonjas and that he did not come with true intentions, then how does he explain that to Nigeria and the rest of the world, world politics don't work that way.
Many of the Afonjas saying Kanu is Jewish and has Isreali ties while Turkey a Muslim state, that they can't have any relationship must be really dumb Afonjas, This category of Afonjas are not just slow but have dimwited brains so they lack proper reasoning.
Is America not a Christian/Jewish majority state don't they have ties with Saudi Arabia and many other Muslim countries, is China not at dispute with Japan yet both maintain ties with America, world politics don't work that way my sophisticated Afonjas
Afonjas must think every one is a 2 faced bastard that can't be trusted by their words and action, they must also think that every one is a coward that must hide his real intentions or lack boldness to show their stand, turkey was once a Christian and Jewish nation the Christians amongst them might not want Biafrans to lose their faith an identity like they did, so they are showing support, dumb Afonjas.
Turkey have taken a stand chosen whose side they are on, Afonja take a stand for anything at all and stand for something whatever it is, stop embarrassing the black race with your cowardice. As far as we are not against your biafra then you should not be bothered about us. Simple!! They are still blaming Yoruba people for their civil war loss because they did not join their madness and war adventure based on their imaginary Yoruba support and approval to join their doomed war, now that we are jejelly minding our own business, they are still mad and upset at Yoruba people.
