mightyhazel: Am disappointed in opc.. they should caution their members against attacking law abiding citizens residing peacefully in their own country and carrying out their civic responsibilities. Never in history of the world have i read or heard that individuals will be threatened at gunpoint to vote candidates that are not their choice in an election.even to the extent of actually killing them for voting their choice candidate, like the case of peter at okota. we are not savages. Nigeria is for Nigerians pls .No Nigerian is a foreigner in Nigeria.. we can always split in peace if we are tired of the union! They've denied the people involved in that event as their members, but you ipobs won't stop lying and causing trouble.

googi: Some of the Igbo on this thread actually made some good points.
But it is out of self interest. Until you make Igbo land attractive to others including Igbo and neighbors around you, your good points are self serving.
You need to curb and overcome your chest beaters insulting their hosts in the West. They made the marginal acceptance of a rogue and drug dealer like Tinubu possible.
No Omoluabi house teach or want their children to aspire to become Tinubu. But Yoruba fight fire with fire. If it takes Tinubu, so be it.
Igbo made Tinubu. The more you hate him, the more they excuse his fault. Igbo are more toxic to Yoruba than Tinubu. You really have to speak for yourself on that one. Where is the sense and wisdom i as a parent shouldn't want my kids to be a man like Tinubu, a successful man from spectacular work engagements at the finest accounting firm in the world, to a top official Mobile, a successful governor or the Lagos State, the man responsible for what Lagos state it is today, the 5th largest economy in Africa. Tinubu's wisdom and foresight gave Lagosians the best administrators in Nigeria. Tinubu's success and the success of the administrators he groomed remains the reason why 8,000 people move to Lagos every day. The village people beating their chest are in Lagos today because they lack skilled and smart people like Tinubu in their backward states. What are they doing in Lagos anyway? They do collect taxes and allocations in their states so when was the last time they questioned their own village governors per what they are doing with their money? When was the last time they commissioned any project in their villages? Tinubu is a successful human being, a successful governor, a powerful and dynamic politician and strategist and I hope and pray for my children not only to be successful but to be just like Tinubu. |

Asshurbanipal: See documents on ethnic migration to Lagos. Igbos moved to Lagos before yoruba. Yorubas came to Lagos in 1931 when igbos and other nigerians already developed it The Treaty Between Great Britain and Lagos, 1 January 1852 was an agreement between the United Kingdom (represented by Commodore Henry William Bruce, Commander of the British Navy's West Africa Station and John Beecroft, British Consul in the Bights of Benin and Biafra) and Oba Akitoye, the newly installed Oba of Lagos.

T inubu is not a public official, he left public office decades ago and he's not running for public office or a public official like Saraki so exactly what is otoge about Tinubu?
2. What office is Tinubu running from that you are going to deny him? Instead of facing Sanwo Olu, you are fighting Tinubu just like you losers preoccupied yourselves with Jibrin from Sudan till Nigerians decimated your athiefKulooter at the polls.

“And now that the chickens have come home to roost, it has become clear to Governor Obiano that foresight comes at a price. Foresight is a lonely path to tread. It breeds unexpected resentment and hate. Having foresight could turn you into a sudden object of anger and unwise attacks. But on the long run, it never leaves you without the enduring sheen of grace and glory. And that happens only when the people finally wake up to smell the coffee. Sadly, in the case of many farsighted leaders, this happens after they are out of office or after they are gone! Well said |

Politics › Nigeria Election Result: Galadima Congratulates Buhari, Advises Atiku by deomelo(op): 1:25pm On Mar 02, 2019 |
Galadima described the Buhari’s victory as “well deserved. ”
He, however, urged him to form a Government of National Unity
This was contained in a statement he personally and made available to reporters yesterday in Abuja.
He called on Atiku to concede defeat or channel his grievances through appropriate quarters without letting them degenerate into a security threat to the country.
Galadima said, “President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory is a well deserved one, considering his popularity, acceptance across board and his performances in the last three and half years.
“We as a party had expressed our support for him even before the election and we thank God that our support did not go in vain.
“We, therefore, urge Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PDP to see Buhari’s victory as the will of the majority of Nigerians. The people have spoken. We expect him as a democrat to concede defeat and move on, bearing in mind that it is God that gives power.
“We also believe that Alhaji Abubakar and his party have rights to challenge the outcome but we advise that such should be done in a peaceful manner without putting the security of Nigeria and Nigerians at risk.”
The ACPN wants Buhari “to do everything possible to unite the country, possibly by forming a Government of National Unity which will bring on board all stakeholders that have something to offer the nation.
“We believe that President Buhari should do more on the area of insecurity beyond the Northeast. Energy should be deployed to ensure that the nation’s economy is revamped and the social safety nets should be improved upon to better the lives of Nigerians especially the elderly and the unemployed.”

starstaz: all this big grammar without penetrating logical views. But the writer holds the inalienable rights to his lovely views. I respect. That said.
My personal take is the presumptive fight in okota and by extension heated debate of Igbo, Yoruba Lagos politics is largely being driven by selfish politician as to who gonna have the direct and control the Lagos resources. Those who have been chopping" d money since 1999 and their collaborators and their beneficiaries will never abdicate such significant roles While those who have been left for a very long time in the Lurch of wilderness plus unaccessible clear cut connection to Lagos resources are also desperate to find alibi to assist them in their dreams.
Thence win or loss one of them will win but the Igboid-Lagosian, different from their brother home in the east, risk the long end of the rod to be the whipping subject as long as they vehemently show their hate to the former. The best approach is to keep your joker to yourself and unleash it quietly on election day. Play your cards intelligently for your candidate without open aggression to the Later. . Fact is, the rejected PDP politicians have zero access to power because their own Yoruba and indigene Lagosians don't want them in power, but they don't mind turning the whole state upside down and even invite mercenaries from the SE with cheap ethnic votes and their own agendas to secure power.
Sadly, the coming and subsequent elections in Lagos state and the SW, in general, are largely going to be between Yoruba and ibo people and not necessarily between APC and PDP, this is what transpired last Saturday in Lagos.
Agbaje is a serial loser and he'll lose again and retire back to his pharmacy for another 4 years while Lagosians pick up the pieces, mend fences and heal wounds all over the state, but the folks in the line of fire are always going to be the mercenaries with cheap votes and anti-Yoruba agenda.Agabje and ibo people in Lagos have nothing in common beyond wrestling power away from the APC, the ultimate goal for ibo people in Lagos is political and physical domination, but clueless and thoughtless Agbaje the so-called son of the soil care less, his only objective is politics and power but his hired mercenaries from the SE wants his land from top to bottom.
This is what Ahmadu Bello warned against in the North and what they've largely prevented till today.
I just don't see how this won't get bloody and deadly at the end of the day. |
