I have a friend in Scotland that married a white girl. The last time I visited them I noticed the chick was soo moody.
When I picked on the guy, he told me that, madam was angry because my friend was not ready to relocate to Nigeria.
She is so addicted to Nigeria, that, she watches only Nigerian TV stations on sky

So @OP it's better to let her know from the beginning that you want to live in Nigeria.

AutosRe: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by deor03(m): 4:57pm On Nov 25, 2013
oyb: and how much does his cement cost?

the energy situation in nigeria means that the likes of dangote spend insane amounts on energy which they throw right back to us

the absence of just about any industry means every part of those vehicles will be imported, not fabricated

most of the locally coupled generators are poorly assembled - so we will have more of the same for cars

of course some people [probably govt cronies] will make a killing

all that is happening is that the number of have nots will increase and the gap between the haves and have nots will widen

and of course, you can expect that there will be import waivers for our biggest consumers - the presidency, fec, governors and senate]
His cement cost is a function of market forces. If eagle cement or larfarge chooses to sell their own cement half of Dangote's price, no one will hold them to it.

The Energy sector in Nigeria will make an unprecedented growth in the next 10 years, so over time power issues will be dealth with. Policies are not made for an immediate impact, they are made for the long run.

If properly implemented, this policy will be a very positive effect on the the future Engineers.

When Hyundai came into this market about 6-7 years ago, they were the low end cars, but nowadays, they are being used as status cars. With our patronage the likes of Innoson will get better by the day.

We are not independent, if we can feed ourselves, clothe ourselves , shelter ourselves
AutosRe: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by deor03(m): 3:59pm On Nov 25, 2013
otokx: South Africa has over 50000 mega watts of power, lets stop deceiving ourselves in this country. Nigeria does not have up to 5000 mega watts of power, no road, so how then will car assembly lines start up?
who told you that power issues will not be fixed by the plant owners ? what do you need good roads for in running an assembly plant

Dangote has the biggest cement plant in Africa, Is he not sorting his power needs?
AutosRe: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by deor03(m): 3:29pm On Nov 25, 2013
This is an excellent policy. I have been hoping for this for a long time.

In south Africa, over 90% of the cars driven are made locally. Inported cars are not affordable for ordianry south Africans. This has created a whole lot of job and forex for them , as they export to the whole of SADC and some to South America

So many years back, India had this policy and this encouraged the likes of TATA.

While Nigerians are complaining, some smart foreigners are concluding plans to set up their plant locally.

The victim in her evidence gave a vivid account of how she was robbed of the items at her shop at gunpoint.

The female passenger, Amaka Okafor told the court that “on realizing the gun was a toy, I resisted him but he overpowered me after biting me with his teeth and snatched my phone from me”.
The problem is that , He robbed at "Gun Point". But i think Lawyers should be able to plead for leniency based on the fact , it was a toy gun

Abuja is a cool place. Quite modern , lots of places to hang out day and night.

Security is relatively very good and hotels are not bad. Abuja has a very large "foreigners" poulations , so you won't be out of place

Nairaland GeneralRe: Etisalat Mast Power Generator Causing A Nuisance by deor03(m): 2:45pm On Nov 13, 2013
ti-ebe:
hello everyone. i am living in a lovely area which seems to answer to all my needs. however, etisalat has erected one of their network masts near my house and the suffering is not small at all.
first of all, they did not follow the NCC regulation of minimum distance from living quarters and secondly, they did not install silent generators. so, now, for 24 hrs of everyday, my windows are rattling, the noise is unbearable (worse at night) sometimes i have fumes entering my house. I cannot even open all my windows to allow for cross ventillation because I will get deaf.

we have written several letters to etisalat to get their generators out of there or install a silent generator build a wall to shield us from the noise before their contract for that space expires but to no avail.

Please, is there anyone who can advice me on what to do??
What's your location ?
