Following the advice given by goingforward and a couple other people.

Try to put yourself in the shoes of the VO that probably has a dozen of applications to go through. In as much as you want to be detailed and through, i see no reason my your SOP should be five pages long. See your SOP as your resume or even LinkedIn profile.

Let it highlight your strong points.

Using my brother's application as an example, the SOP for the first two applications were very detailed and about 3 pages, yet he got denied. The last application had a 1 page SOP, was very brief and to the point. This doesn't mean all SOPs have to be brief, other pple have gotten approved with longer.

Given that you are also including LOE, try to paraphrase and reduce the length as u also dont want to over explain and come across like you are hiding anything
Exactly

Hello @Joe @Dere1,

I don't think anyone should be in a position to advise on the number of pages for an LOE or SOP.
The reason is because you do not know what content or information that the person has put in there. U may want to ask first before outrightly saying that it would bore the visa officer. U may want to ask to help read his or her SOP or LOE then better advice. So that the person does not reduce the information that may just be what the VO needs to see,

I have read on several forums and blogs outside of Nairaland, where people have said that its always better to provide more information than required if space can contain it, than providing less information.

No one here is a visa officer and you do not know what extra information they look out for which may be the icing on the cake and the additional reason for approving your application.

Please follow your heart play the devil's advocate on your application. Ask yourself this. Are all the information that I have placed there relevant and important. Are the information I have placed in there strong career or professional points or reasons for my study in Canada?

You also don't want to get a refusal and be left with the guilt that you would have added this or added that.

Then follow your heart on the number of pages.

There is no 1 size that fits all, please always know this. There is also no visa officer here on Nairaland. We are all just second guessing and leveraging on past knowledge and information based on trends of approvals or refusals.

goingforward.
Okay, I apologize to @Joe.

@Joe, try to reduce your sop. I'm only putting myself in the shoes of the VO and not claiming to be one.

I wish you the best.

Good Morning house and DOUBLE TWALE to our Honourable GURUS for their insurmountable contribution.

PLEASE IS 5 PAGES SOP NOT TOO MUCH FOR THE VO? HOWEVER, I AM THINKING OF EXTRACTING SOME INFO TO FORM MY LOE SO I CAN EMPHASISE MORE ON THE REASON FOR MY TRV REFUSAL. ALSO, PLEASE IS THERE ANY FORMAT FOR LOE AND IF YES WILL NEED A TEMPLATE FOR TRV LOE.

THANKS
Please try to limit the use of caplocks while typing. I do not see why you'd want to subdue a VO to the torture of a 5pages SOP. I wonder the number of documents that would follow. 50copies? 100?

No!
Highly unadvisable!!!

Bank accounts are vetted, believe it or not.

Good morning beautiful people! I've been a silent reader, this thread has been very insightful, God bless you all.

I'm married with two children, my husband wants to go through a pilot training and we found one at Brampton, Brampton Flight Service. is it possible we all apply with him? Or would you all suggest we just go through FSW I don't mind any other suggestions.

Anticipating. ..
I have no idea about the pilot training but one thing I know is that, going with your husband for a training is only temporary. What happens after the training?
If you can, you could begin your fsw process, then go for the training and when your passport is rewuested, you can submit either in Canada or back in Nigeria.
The best way to migrate to Canada right now is via the fsw/pnp.
Goodluck

Just go to https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx and apply. It cost £40 but if you want to sent directly to you in Nigeria, you will pay additional fee of £47.
To add, you can have it sent to a UK address and the recipient would scan and send the soft copy to you for your application. Saves you and extra £47 grin

Hello all, pls does anyone know the cost of extraluggage for egypt air? And what is weight allowance for the extra bags is it 23kg or 32kg? The rate am geting for Cargoing to Saskatoon is so scary that extra luggage is beginning to seem reasonable. Pls i need advise o. Thanks
It's 23kg per luggage.

Check their website for excess luggage information or simply give them a call. Although there are affordable cargo options in the airport.....you need to check that as well. Remember, the more kg you cargo, the cheaper you pay.

I want to say a super duper big thank you to every single one of you. I wish I could mention you all individually but I need to leave space on the thread for the ppr announcements that will flow today grin My prayer is that we all get our hearts desires according to His will.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, so what ever stage you are in be it IELTS, ECA, ITA, Post AOR etc., just keep pushing on. Last last, it will definitely end in praise grin grin grin

I have about 300 pages to digest in that living in Canada thread and I dare not ask any silly repeated question before they refer me straight to page 0 D cheesy cheesy . So if you are post AOR (or even post ITA sef) I'd say you can keep yourself busy by following that thread as well, at least it will keep your mind away from checking the account every hour grin

Thank you all so very much!
You can say that again. Started on that since January and it is worth every while spent.
Congrats again.
Still waiting to be released from LVO....Can't wait to share my timeline too wink

To make it simple....If you match these qualifications. ..then you are eligible for the express entry program.

Single
35years and below
Msc
1 year work experience and above
English proficiency exam (L8,R7,W7,S7)

Single
33years and below
Hnd and Ond /Bsc and Ond/Bsc and Nce/Hnd and Nce/Bsc and Pgd
1 year work experience and above
English proficiency exam (L8,R7,W7,S7)

Married
35yrs and below
Msc
3years work experience
English proficiency exam (L8 & above, S7 & above, W7 & above, R7 & above)
Spouse - Bsc/Hnd/Msc/Pgd
Spouse - English proficiency exam (L7,R7,W7,S7)

If you match the above criteria, please consider the federal skilled worker program aka Express entry.
For those above 35years old, there are also chances for you to apply but you need higher qualifications ie; Msc/PhD for both spouses to score pretty high or go through the Provincial nominee program to gain more points.

I am available for questions but I'll prefer you go to the above link and read up from page 0.

Happy choosing!!! wink

Sir, try Canadian Express Entry (EE).

Cheers! smiley
My thoughts too. There are lot of people here going through the study route who are eligible for the Express entry program. I was once pursuing this route between the Part 9-12 of this thread until I realised my eligibility for express entry, thanks to @Wealth360 and @Austinpee.

So before you settle for less, try reaching for more.

There's an express entry thread here on nairaland. Goodluck

Silent reader alert.

In response to @Tojued..

Woke up to PPR on Friday morning.

See timeline below:

ITA - JAN 24
AOR - MAR 2
MEP/IP1 - MAR 9
SILENCE!!!!
IP2 - huh I don't know or when this came as I stopped checking after a while in order not to hurt myself before the big news came.
PPR 1 - JUN 29
PPR 2 - JUL 4.

Bizarre isn't? I was amazed as well when I woke up to another PPR today. We badly wanted the PPR to come earlier so we could have our baby in Cannyland but in God's supreme knowledge, He's decided now is the time.

We have written to IRCC to have our deadline postponed though, in order to give time to birth and include our baby before leaving as wifey is too advanced right now. We await their feedback.

@Newmum and others waiting, it will come soon by God's grace.

To my fellow PPR choppers, congrats.

All the best to all of us in this endeavor.
Wow, double PPR!!! Please send me one grin

Congratulations
