after4:I don't understand how you guys think. Check the screenshot below. That's former UK pm Theresa May asking Boris Johnson if the AUKUS pact won't put UK on a collision of war with China. Does that make any sense to you? That should tell you the UK would avoid anything that could lead to a war with China. They know that defending Taiwan against China isn't worth it. Haven't you asked yourself why none of these countries has a defence pact with Taiwan lol... I always laugh whenever i see kids in this section debating how NATO would help Taiwan confront China. Please read and re-read the question that former UK pm asked Boris Johnson. Japan won't dare confront China over Taiwan. This is the link to the screenshot https://www.bbc.com/news/world-58592613

China is ready to sacrifice whatever it takes to take back what it sees as a rogue province. A territory she lost to Chiang Kai-Shek's treachery and U.S. cold war politics. China is ready to fight to the last soldier standing but is U.S. ready to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of its troops in the defence of an Island that has no historical connection to America? The motivation of Chinese troops is we are going to take back a territory that belonged to us but was taken away from us when we lost power now that we are up to the task we are ready to posess our possesion. But what would be the motivation of American troops? That they are going to die in a war over an island that does not belong to them right? An island that their 245yrs old country has no historical connection with. By the time Chinese troops start dying they won't feel it cause they would see it as a price that is worth it as long as Taiwan is reunified but when American troops start dying over a war that does not concern them Americans at home would start asking their govt questions. Anyway U.S. always learn the hard way. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't see U.S. defending Taiwan in the event of war with China they can only supply weapons and logistics. |

joyandfaith:So this is all you could come up with? Anyway it shows you are an ignoramus this is an intellectual discourse for God sake. I was expecting something better but as usual you can't deny or argue against the truth. That's why i love arguing with undeniable facts in this foreign section and no western slave has been able to engage me intellectually the only response i get is "You are a muslim, a terrorist" lol. Anyway enjoy your day. |
joyandfaith:No China won't obey any western intl law that was designed by the west to favour the west only. China is now a military power and it won't be pushed around by the west that's the main reason the west is having problem with China. U.S does whatever she feels it's right for her without any one questioning her. The Chamorro people of Guam have been crying for independence from America for years calling on UN to tell America to vacate their Island that America annexed forcefully in 1898 but America has done everything in her powers to suppress their effort. Guam is seen as U.S territory today but the indigenous Chamorros are not recognised as U.S citizens, they can't vote or be voted for they don't enjoy the rights of an American citizen. They are a people without nationality. China and Russia are the only ones violating intl laws according to the west..Well, may be you people don't read or think. China knows what it is doing by militarizing the South China sea. It is a survival strategy they have to do. U.S bases around is like putting a loaded gun to China's head, those islands are their first line of defence in a military clash with America and its thugs. It's a strategy of sparing the homeland from attack as the battle would be concentrated on those artificial islands. Those artificial islands are China's shields. China is a rising super power that won't be cowed by one western intl law designed to put other people in a state of subservience under the guise of obeying rules based order. When the matter on ground is about your survival and security you have to break that western intl law and do the needful. And that's what U.S and its western thugs had been doing. So if China, Russia and others who have the power to do it do the same. Should we see them as devil? Stop thinking like a slave. |
kinethic:You have lived in China for 11yrs and in Taiwan for 11yrs too yet you don't know the history of both lands and their relationship. China has never ruled Taiwan? That is the narrative western media want you to believe cause they are anti-China and you the independent reader and analyst don't have to be brainwashed by their lies. According to historians the original identity of the people of Taiwan is Austronesian, people from Malaya, Madagascar, Philippines, Oceania. Later the Chinese during the Sui dynasty era came. The idigenous people are called The Siraya People. The island has witnessed some incursions in the past. The portuguese came around 1540s and named the island Ilha Formosa which means beautiful island. The Dutch came around 1620s searching for a base of operations for the Dutch East India Company, later the Han Chinese came in the 17th century they are mostly refugees fleeing the wars in China. Their migration into Formosa/Taiwan was explosive. This was a time when Taiwan started developing a strong connection with China to the extent that the aborigines of Taiwan threw away their sea-serpent god in favor of Taoism and Confucianism. The Japanese came around 1895 after the first Sino-Japanese war forced the Qing dynasty of China to cede Taiwan under the Treaty of Shimonoseki Question: If China never ruled Taiwan how was Japan able to force China to cede Taiwan by making China to sign the Treaty of Shimonoseki forcefully? Japan could have invaded the island without China's consent and take over the way the Dutch and Portuguese did in the past. After Japan was defeated in 1945 Japan relinquished its control over Taiwan and returned it back to China. China was still under the Kuomintang leader Chiang Kai-Shek at the time. In fact it was Chen Yi (kuomintang) the future kuomintang Governor of Taiwan that oversaw the surrender of Taiwan by Japan. Chen Yi was appointed by the Chinese ruler Chiang kai-shek. After the communist seized power in 1949 Chinese president Chiang Kai-Shek fled China for Taiwan to continue his Kuomintang government on the island with U.S backing. Question: If China never controlled Taiwan how was a Chinese president able to flee to the island to continue his government there to the point where he even renamed Taiwan as Republic of China (ROC) ? China lost Taiwan because of the dirty game U.S played during the cold war. If the communist didn't seize power in China Taiwan would still be part of China to this day but U.S had to keep Taiwan from China's grasp so as to contain communist expansion in Asia and the pacific. When you read always try to do an independent analysis based on the facts you have gathered. |

michresakidjo:The way you comment at times makes me doubt if you are truly a student of international politics as you have said. This kind of operation and sabotage is what Israel does inside and outside Iran and Israel would keep mute. The only difference now is Iran acknowledging it publicly that it did it unlike Israel. |
grandstar:I won't call China a bully. That's what the west wants us to believe.China is not out there to bully anyone it is only responding to U.S. aggression. America really played politics with the China-Taiwan issue. Taiwan would be part of China today if America didn't use its own power to oppress China in the past. Western apologists can argue how Taiwan and Hong Kong are not part of China without looking into the past. If Taiwan isn't part of China why did Chinese President Chiang Kai-Shek run to Taiwan to continue his govt there and renamed Taiwan as the new republic of China with U.S. backing? U.S. should have stayed neutral if it didn't have its own sinister agenda during the cold war years. But we know why U.S. used its power to keep Taiwan beyond China's reach. Please read Shanghai Communique that Richard Nixon signed with China during his visit to China in 1972 where he acknowledged China and Taiwan as one country. So what hppened to the communique.? What we are seeing today is still the aftermath of imperialism and cold war powerplay . China constrution of artificial islands in the South China sea is justified infact they still need to build and militarize more islands. Can't you see how U.S. has encircled China in the pacific with military bases with ballistic missiles aimed at China and U.S. has made it known it is ready to check China's rise and you expect China to just sit down and watch? We are always quick to call China and Russia bully because that's what the real bullies the western nations want us to believe. Russia's behaviour today is as a result of a country that is paranoid because of U.S. and NATO encirclement. Western apologists won't see how Russia became a true friend of the west after the collapse of the Soviet Union until NATO began encircling Russia in 2004. Strategic experts warned against such a move but U.S. won't listen because it wants to be an empire that rules every corner of the world. U.S. and its western cohorts are not saints they are the architects of the problems most countries are experiencing today. They are the real bullies. How would U.S. feel if China, Russia, Iran has bases around U.S.? When USSR built a base in Cuba in 1962 armed them with ICBM and nuclear warhead America could not sleep that was what caused the Cuban missile crises with America threatening to invade and strike Cuba with nukes. That's the same way China and Russia feel today hence the reason for their hostile behaviour against America and it western allies. Please get this book: Base Nation: How U.S. military Bases Abroad Harm America and The World. By Professor David Vine The book explains how U.S. bases around the world are producing their unintended results influencing the behaviour of countries like Russia and China. How U.S. helped prop up brutal dictatorial regimes around the world just to secure land for military bases in their countries. |
I'm happy China is more powerful to decide its destiny. Only China can decide whether it wants Taiwan back or not, not the west. |
michresakidjo:Oh yes..That reputational damage is what is still holding China back. And at this point i believe China does not care. China has offered the one-country two systems but Taiwan has refused it. A formal move towards independence is what China won't accept. China has signaled that. You believe U.S. would go to war against China over Taiwan? When Taiwan sealed a mutual defence treaty with U.S in 1954 America gave the island conditions. Kinmen and Matsu Islands were not part of the defence provision so China was able to shell them at will during the 2nd Taiwan strait crisis, America told Chiang Kai Shek it won't come to Taiwan defence if it was Taiwan that attacked China first. There was a time Chian Kai-Shek was urging America to help him take China back but U.S. refused all because it was avoiding a military entanglement with China. Not that U.S feared China but it believed a war with China over Taiwan does not worth it and China was not even a military power then. Taiwanese leaders are not even sure if U.S. would come to their rescue because U.S. operates what experts call Strategic Ambiguity over the China-Taiwan issue. And I believe China is not ready to invade now all these military drills and threat are attempt to coerce Taiwan into accepting the one-country two systems. |
Lewisjohnson:U.S. won't do nothing if China invades Taiwan the only thing it can do is send Taiwan equipments. Ask yourself this question is U.S. willing to engage a Peer-Nuclear power over a small Island it does not have sovereign right over? The mutual defence treaty between U.S and Taiwan Sino-American Mutual Defence Treaty was terminated by President Jimmy Carter in 1979 and the offshoot of the defence pact Taiwan Relations Act has no mutual defence clause. China would incur the wrath of western nations but it can only manifest through economic sanctions. But Japan is what i don't know cause Japan's southern Ryukyu Islands chain are closer to Taiwan than the Japanese mainland and much of Japan's export and import passes through the strait. Japan believes a Taiwan controlled by China would affect the free flow of commodities that pass through the Taiwan strait so Japan has a keen interest in the future of the country and has signaled it has an obligation to help the country should China invade. |
The western hypocritical nations that have violated international laws and annexed lands that don't belong to them before and after the age of international law are now acting as saints. America agreed that Taiwan and China is one country under the Shanghai Communique that U.S. president Richard Nixon signed with China during his visit to the country in 1972. China has every right to take Taiwan but i would just advice Xi JinPing to forget this irredentist ambition and move on. |
Taiwan used to be part of China until China was defeated by Japan during the First Sino-Japanese war of 1894. After which Japan forced China to sign the Treaty of Shimonoseki of 1895 under it Japan forced China to cede Taiwan, Pescadores Island and Liaodong peninsula and China paid a heavy indemnity to Japan even though Japan started the war by launching a surprise attack on China. After the communists seized power in 1949, Chiang Kai Shek the country's president and the chairman of Chinese Nationalist Party(Kuomintang) fled China with over 2 million Kuomintang party members went to Taiwan to continue his nationalist government there. Chiang Kai Shek pronounced Taiwan as the new Republic of China with U.S. backing. U.S failed to recognize the new communist govt in mainland China The people's Republic of China (PRC) because the cold War had already started. The fear that communism could spill into other parts of Asia made America to isolate China and prevent it from getting Taiwan from the capitalist dictator Chiang Kai Shek. America's Hypocrisy When the U.S. puppet Chiang Kai-Shek was still ruling China America had no problem with Taiwan being part of China but when the communist Mao Zedong unseated Chiang Kai shek leading to Chiang Kai Shek's exit to Taiwan, Taiwan ceased to be part of China according to America and Chiang Kai Shek. The Communists had plans to invade Taiwan and get it back from the Kuomintang leader Chiang Kai Chek during the early cold war years but America killed that ambition by bringing Taiwan into the San Francisco System which led to the Sino-American Mutual Defence Treaty with Chiang Kai-Chek's Taiwan making it difficult for China to invade and get back its lost territory. China lost Taiwan due to U.S. cold war powerplay. |
chiiraq802:China understands what it is doing. It is a deliberate attempt to scare the Japanese public so that they can exert more pressure on their government to close the U.S military base at Okinawa. Okinawans have been calling on the government for years to close that base because they see it as a flash point for U.S and China's war in the future and they don't want Okinawans to be caught in between when the war breaks out. China operates a no first use nuclear doctrine (NFU) which means China won't be the first to start a nuclear war and Japan is under U.S nuclear umbrella under U.S policy of Extended Deterrence & Allied Assurance . I doubt if China would do that even if a war breaks out between her and Japan. This threat is part of China's competitive coercion. |
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein This shows that he believed the weapons used in World War III would be so devastating that civilization as we know it would be gone and humanity will be taken back to the stone age. |
joyandfaith:U.S imposed sanctions on Cuba because Cuba chose to take its destiny into its hands and refused to be a U.S puppet. The embargo began after the Barbudos removed the U.S puppet and dictator Batista Fulgencio in the 1959 revolution. What really irked U.S was the Communist mode of production that Castro introduced to the island which led to the expropriation of U.S companies and industries in Cuba. I believe a nation has the right to be free of external control. The right to determine its own destiny as worded in the America's Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson. So why should America dictate to Cuba and other countries how to run their country. Is it a must to practice your capitalist model. #Viva Cuba Libre# |
Timekeeper:I'm sure America's F-35 can't beat this. |
Moscow (AP) -- Russian aircraft makers say they will present a prospective new fighter jet at a Moscow air show that opens next week. The new warplane hidden under tarpaulin was photographed being towed to a parking spot across an airfield in Zhukovsky, outside Moscow, where the MAKS-2021 International Aviation and Space Salon opens Tuesday. Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit the show's opening. Russian media reports said that the new jet has been built by the Sukhoi aircraft maker in a program of development of a light tactical fighter. Unlike Russia's latest Su-57 two-engine stealth fighter, the new aircraft is smaller and has one engine. The Su-57 has been built to match the U.S. F-22 Raptor stealth fighter, but unlike the American aicraft that has been in service since 2005 its serial production is just starting and a new engine intended to give it the capability to cruise at supersonic speed is still under development. The new warplane's name is unknown, and there is no information about its capability and deployment prospects. The prospective Russian fighter jet appears intended to compete with the U.S. F-35 Lightning II fighter, which entered service in 2015. Russia hopes to eventually offer the new aircraft to foreign customers. Rostec, the state corporation that includes Russian aircraft makers, said the “fundamentally new military aircraft” will be unveiled Tuesday at the Moscow air show. “Russia is one of the few countries in the world with full-cycle capacities for producing advanced aircraft systems, as well as a recognized trendsetter in the creation of combat aircraft,” it said. Following the Rostec announcement, Russian plane spotters rushed to Zhukovsky to take pictures of the new plane — an eerie parallel with Cold War times when Western spies tried to get a glimpse of the latest Soviet warplanes at the tightly-guarded airfield that served as the country’s top military aircraft test facility. In a bid to raise public interest before the presentation, Rostec published a picture of the new plane covered by tarpaulin with “wanna see me naked?” written under it. It also posted a brief video featuring excited foreign customers and the jet's vague shadow over the water. Another teaser photo posted on Rostec's Facebook account Saturday showed what appeared to be a reflection of a British type 45 destroyer in the new Russian warplane's optical sensor with an inscription “See you.” “Black tarpaulin looks enticing, but details are always more interesting,” Rostec said. A British type 45 destroyer, HMS Defender, was involved in the June 23 incident in the Black Sea when Russia said one of its warships fired warning shots and a warplane dropped bombs in the path of the Defender to chase it away from an area near Crimea that Moscow claims as its territorial waters. Britain, which like most other nations didn’t recognize Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea, insisted the Defender wasn’t fired upon and said it was sailing in Ukrainian waters. Putin has charged that the incident with the Defender wouldn’t have triggered a global conflict even if Russia had sunk the British vessel because the West knows it can’t win such a war, a bold statement that appeared to indicate his resolve to raise the stakes should a similar incident happen again. The Kremlin has made modernization of the country's armed forces a top priority amid a bitter strain in relations with the West, which have sunk to post-Cold War lows after Moscow's 2014 annexation of Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula, accusations of Russian interference in elections, hacking attacks and other irritants. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-07-17/russia-to-unveil-new-fighter-jet-at-moscow-s-air-show Cc: lalasticlala

These Cubans should understand that America is the real enemy. U.S. sanction is what is causing the hardship not mismanagement or corruption. Fidel Castro tried for them they shouldn't betray the 26th of July Movement by selling out their country to the imperialist. |
Mangekyo:Bro nuclear chain of command is far more diverse and complex than you think o. Even if Russia destroys or decapitate U.K's ground base nuclear command centre they still have airborne command centre where they can issue a command to launch a massive retaliation and I know every nuclear armed state has such. Have you heard about U.S Operation Looking Glass ? It's an airborne Boeing EC-135C command and control centre parked at Offut Airbase, Nebraska. It takes to the air once U.S. activates DEFCON-1. In case the ground base was destroyed during a nuclear first strike U.S can still activate its nuclear weapons remotely from that plane. And there is still a submarine command and control centre too. And I believe every nuclear armed state has these optional emergency command centers. So if Russia disabled U.K's ground command centre in a first strike. U.K would still be able to activate its nukes. |
ivolt:Actually Britain was given a 6 month deadline to give up control of the Island and the deadline is non binding so there won't be sanctions or punishment against Britain but if it were to be an African or weak Asian country what would have happened? Jeremy Corbyn even criticized the UK government for not obeying the order. He told his country men that UK should lead by example. The ICJ is still on the case they can still put pressure on Britain if Mauritius keep pressing charges. |
decatalyst:Honestly I don't know why western powers always look for trouble. This same Britain forcefully took Chagos Island from Mauritius in the 60's. ICJ ruled in 2019 that Britain should vacate the Island, close the joint military base it built with U.S. there and return the Island to Mauritius but Britain has yet to obey that order it's two years since the UN ruling. Now they are flexing muscle saying they don't recognize Russia's annexation of Crimea. They don't recognize China's artifical islands in the South China Sea. Are they not hypocrites? |

Wow... It has a catapult system unlike the Short Take Off But Arrested Recovery (STOBAR) they have been using. China would be the third country to make use of catapult launch on aircraft carrier after U.S. and France. China to the world. |
Immortality does not lie in the structures you've erected in your name but in the people your life has touched. What will you be remembered for? Weed smoking, sexual immorality, bombing sites, runs, nudity and slay queen life/prostitution? Anyone who is so preoccupied with earthly gains and worldly pursuit and he or she doesn't take time to think about the certainty of death and eternity is the most miserable of all men. This is the age of rockets and missiles technology, and it's crazy to think the US doesn't prioritize this. Without active rockets and competitively capable missile technology, the US will just be a paper world power. So get your facts straight.
