They seem to have very good rates presently.

Thank you Dr for your contributions.

I recently put to bed three months ago & my body hasn't remained the same ever since. I had swollen feets while pregnant & it took a while for them to become normal. However my skin on my feet started with a little itch & has escalated to terrible looking scars & darkened itch, rough , black patches because of constant scratching. I itch sometimes that I even bleed in the process. I saw a gynaecologist & was administered skineal. It looked like everything was fine till after 2 weeks when my skin grew resistance to the skineal.

It's now always itchy. I have stopped f using hot water or soap ..I cry almost every night cos I have used different cream from hydrocortisone to antibacterial to meprasil, sudocream, calamine lotion etc.

After much personal research based on the symptoms, I began to suspect it has something to do with my thyroid.

I plan on seeing a dermatologist this week cos I'm frustrated but I'd just like to know what your thoughts are knowing how difficult it is to access dermatologist in this country.

Could there be any correlation between thyroid & skin issues

My blood sugar level is fine cos at some point, my doctor was suspecting diabetes

House pls share your thoughts. I can barely look at my leg skin twice cos it irritates me & is making me almost depressed.

Sorry for my epistle. I just had to let all out

@Desanta

Disorders of the thyroid gland can cause itching. However, there should be other symptoms or signs of thyroid disease. I think you should see a dermatologist (Available in every goverment teaching hospital), who would assess the skin lession and ask further questions to rule out thyroid disease.
If it will make you feel better, do a Thyroid Function Test to be sure that you don't have problems with your thyroid gland.

Good morning Dr. I would love to seek your opinion on something. I started having feelings of anxiety and depression last year December. I didn't quite understand it at first but it persisted. I was experiencing fatigue, low mood, memory issues, slurred speech and other symptoms. I was depressed and always anxious. I did some research online and found out it could be depression or hypothyroidism.

I saw a GP in March, He said my symptoms were similar to depression so I was placed on antidepressants. I told him I felt something else must have been causing it because I dont believe it just came out of nowhere. I took the drug for some months, I felt a bit better but I wasn't still okay. The drug was causing a lot of side effects, so I stopped taking it.

I'm planning on doing some thyroid function tests this week to confirm that. I have a feeling something is wrong with my thyroid. I'm still experiencing those feelings and thoughts but I hope the test will reveal more. Recently, I noticed a bit of lump in my throat.
I would love to know if my thyroid is causing these.

Thyroid disorders can cause a lot of mood changes, depression being inclusive.
To confirm any problem with the thyroid gland, you will need to do a Thyroid Function Test ( Thyroid hormone profile).
Based on the result, we decide what to do next.

Please house I'm contemplating between 2 things.

I have a few tbills running in my bank and I have a target of attaining up to 20M with the idea of getting 2M yearly @10%.

I also have a life assurance running although I'll say I regret delving into it cos the roi after 15yrs isn't worth it but my account officer practically opened up to me today that he'll prefer I do annuity for life as it pays more than the current policy I'm dealing with.

Here you determine how much you want to be paid for life after 50yrs. For eg, I told him I'll love to earn 500k monthly from 50yrs and he calculated approximately 1.5M yearly to be paid so that as soon as I clock 50,I'll be earning 500 monthly which is 6M yearly. Although I'm 32, I'll have to pay this sum for 18yrs which he explained it's a deferred payment since I'm not 50yet

Question is...... Is it a good idea to do this or is there anyone knowledgeable enough to throw more light into this? Cos it may look better than tbills but??

Insurance in Nigeria is a kind of specialised fraud and 419. Run. I speak from a 10 year personal experience.

Hello everyone,

If a firm gives a dividend of 300 kobo per share and I own 1,400 worth of shares, am I getting #420 or #42,000 as returns? If it's the former, how much number of shares is it economically best to buy as a first time investor into the market?

I ask because I find the dividend returns absurd and would like to know the amount of shares to purchase which will be significantly higher.

You get #4,200.

Hello MMF gurus,

I have some MMF investment with FBQ @ the rate of 12.95.
I want to know if any change in rate, (say 12.00 or 13.5) will affect the current rate.
In other words, is it fixed like TBill.

Secondly, can I top up the MMF or do I have to open a new MMF account if I intend to add more money.

Thank you guys

The rate is not fixed and you can top up your MMF investment anytime. You don't need to open a new account.

Thanks sir. It is definitely not savings; my Bank gave me 6k interest on 2 million naira in a month, treasury bills would have given more than that. I am taking it as investment without stress.

Mutual fund (money market fund), would have given you about 20k in a month.

The analysis is on point. But pls need ur advice here. I used to have 2 different tbills running around Dec last year. One is 5.1m and the other was 1.2m. When the rates was dropping then I thought I needed to diversify my investment so moved the one of 1.2m to mmf and the other one was put into another bills at 14% then and will mature in Dec. The one in mmf is with united capital mmf. By Gods grace I have bn able to add (top up) more funds to it since January and its now 3.1m still in the mmf. On the average the daily interest since past 2 to 3 months have bn 13% which is higher than the current annual rate for tbills (12.5).
So based on your advice, is it wise to book 3m tbills now and use the upfront to continue the mmf considering the current rates mentioned or just leave the funds like that in the mmf.
Pls everyone's advice is appreciated.
Your TB of 12,5% gives a true yield of about 14.3%.
I think you should move your money to TB and leave your emergency fund with MMF.

Good morning all

Went to stanbic bank this morning to run MMF, I was asked to open an account with them..........is it necessary??

Still a newbie
You don't need to open an account with the bank but you will need to have an account with their investment arm.
Alternatively use their app, download their forms, fill, scan and send back to them.
I don't have an account with their bank.

The doctor(fertility doctor) placed me on tamoxifen...... Results of my hormonal profile are as follow :
Testosterone (Total)= 12.5nmol/L
S-Follitropin(FSH) = 6.9U/L
S-Lutropin(LH) = 10.2U/L
S-Prolactin = 16.6ng/mL

The reference range for total serum testosterone concentration in adult males differs between laboratories. An approximate range is 8 - 35 nmol/L.
Normal FSH levels will differ, Male: Before puberty - 0 to 5.0 IU/L.. Adult - 1.5 to 12.4 IU/L.
For males, the normal range LH is 1.24–7.8 IU/L.
The normal range for prolactin in your blood are: Males: 2 to 18ng/mL.
So your testesterone is low normal, your FSH and prolactin are normal, but your LH is elevated.
In men, high levels of LH in the blood are a sign of a problem with the testicles.
Here is my recommendation to improve your seminal fluid analysis (SFA):
1) vit c tablets, 1gram daily.
2) zinc tablet, 200mg daily.
3) Welman conception tablet, 1 daily.
4) vit D + Calcium tablet, 1 daily.
5) No alcohol or cigarettes. Eat lots of fruit, nuts and green vegetables. Watch your weight, blood sugar and blood pressure.

All for 3 months then repeat your SFA and compare it with what it used to be.

Good day doc,I have been diagnosed with gynecomastia for the last two years, and also been having sperm issues(motility and morphology issues). A doctor prescribed tamoxifen which I have been taking for the last two months. Will this improve my sperm profile characteristics? If not what would you advice, what could be the underlying issues and possible treatment?

Tamoxifen is an anti-estrogen therapy commonly used in breast cancer treatment; recent studies have suggested that it can also be used as an alternative to surgery to treat gynecomastia in men.

So who placed You on Tamoxifen and why?
Have you done a hormone profile?
