eghos24: Please guys. I saw someone once saying you don't need to have an account with stanbic before using them for treasury bills but when I went to the bank yesterday day. They said I need to open an account first. Yes you need to open an account with them first. |

Ojix85: I recommend the book “Your money or your life” to members of this thread.
There’s a global movement of millennials called “FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early”.
The goal is to work your behind off, while saving/investing the bulk of your income such that the proceeds of your investment can cater for your current standard of living.
Financial independence has a number to everyone. Eg : 100mill, 200mill etc. Find yours. True talk . My financial independence is to earn 500k minimum monthly from my investment. That I hope to achieve by the end of next year, God willing. Then I'm ready for retirement. |

Sweetmumsi: Hi all, is it possible to invest in treasury bills two times in a year, perhaps using different banks. Example, if I should use zenith bank for the 1st one (182days ), upon maturation ,can I withdraw the money and go to another bank to purchase treasury bills for another 182days?
Just thinking Yes it's possible. |

ImperialCovfefe: Hi Desanta,
How did you submit your KYC documents without visiting a branch? I’m assuming you’re referring to the normal bank account and not the Mutual Funds. If yes, would you mind elaborating?
Thanks. I sent an email to them stating my intentions. In their reply they sent a list of forms, about 8 in number which I filled scanned and sent to them with my means of identification, Nepali bill, and pass port photography. Since then I've deposited 800k into my account and my last withdrawal this morning is 600k. |

Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by Desanta(m): 2:02pm On Feb 05, 2019 |
Psychodavidovic: You can still use stanbic even without visiting their bank. Download the app, register with your BVN and you're gobod to go. Although, i think there is a limit which will be lifted when you visit the bank and perform the KYC stuff. True. That's what I did and after my KYC was accepted, all limitations were removed. I have never visited the bank and I have several millions of naira with them. |

Science/Technology › Re: Beware!!! 5 Reasons You May Regret Spending On Solar Power!!! by Desanta(m): 6:58am On Feb 05, 2019 |
earthrealm: The main issue is your pumping machine..it draws too much power and would kill your batteries under 1.5yrs..unless you install minimum of 8 batteries.
The safe max energy you should draw from a battery is C/20 = 10amps for a 200ah battery...n this translates to roughly120w. Multiply this by the nos of batteries you hv to get the max load you can safely put on your bank. Total energy stored in a 12v 200ah battery is 2400wh..n total you can safely use is 50% = 1kwh if you factor in losses. So your 200w freezer wud last 5hrs on a single battery. So use this to know how many batteries you need..depending on the duration.as you can see.the freezer exceeds your battery safe energy draw...thus 2 batts is the minimum you need shud you choose to power only your freezer.
Why not try running your pump only when there is phcn..that way.you can get a 4 x 12v 200ah bank n enjoy it.you can add 6 x 300w solar panels to ensure seemless operation.
Should you insist on the pumping machine..then get 8 or 12 batts and 12 to 18 pieces of 300w Panels.ensure you buy an inverter with a good surge capacity..the mustpower inveeter is affordable and can handle surge loads.would recommend 4kva or higher. Thanks. |

earthrealm: whats the rating of the pumping machine, 1.5hp or 1hp?...and how many hours do you wish to run it daily, ditto goes for the freezer, lastly how is phcn in your area, and do you wish to add solar to it?? The pumping machine is 1.5hp and the inverter is for a about 6 hours daily. I want to use solar panels. I get phcn light for about 6 hours daily. |

I need the estimate for a 3.5kva solar inverter that will power my deep freezer and pumping machine.
Most of my friends with inverter are complaining that most of the battery available in the country are fake and they didn't last up to 2 years. Is this true? |

Wait and see. Don't touch it, unless for cosmetic reasons. If it's not broken don't fix it. Sometimes the swelling can resolve on it's own with time. |

Have you done a Thyroid hormone profile. If not, you should do one. What you described is what people call poor memory , buy it it may be an early symptom of dementia. If your Thyroid hormone profile is normal, you will need to see a neurologist. |

madakiagwom: I have been using the i-invest app for my TB because I am abroad and not easy to run the normal TB from here. Yes the I-invest don't pay upfront interest but rather the interest is re-invested together with your principal to give a higher interest after the tenor matures. For example you invest 1m for 364days at 14%, your interest should be around 140 k +- , but you realise that you interest will be around 160k, meaning your interest was compounded (your rate becomes about 16%). It is a good app to invest in when you don't need the interest to use immediately. Thanks You are very correct. I have been using the app for about a year now. |

Dfavouredone: What do you mean by divided is not paid regularly?
Interest in their Abacus MMF accumulates daily and they reinvest the accumulated interest automatically every quarter. They reinvest my interest on Jan 1st 2019 as at the last count.
And don't be undermine them because the interest is reinvested quarterly o, because that their quarterly reinvest still ends up giving me more total interest compare to IBTC who claim reinvest interest weekly.
I have been with both for more than 6 months, so i know what i am saying. I was talking about FBN heritage fund. |
