thanks doc, would you still advice I check my thryroid function from time to time.as I was told it could increase if I become pregnant.

Truly pregnancy can affect the thyroid gland. So you may need to do a check immediately you are pregnant and every 3 months throughout the pregnancy.

@ Desanta hi doc,I have a small nodular non toxic goiter.have done fnac and thyroid function test
.All came back normal..not currently on any drug...what would be your best advice?... surgery or wait and see....
note: I don't feel any discomfort...just the small growth on my neck...

Wait and see. Don't touch it, unless for cosmetic reasons.
If it's not broken don't fix it. Sometimes the swelling can resolve on it's own with time.

Thanks. Can I get a thyroid profile done at any hospital or must it be a specialist hospital? If specialist, which private would you recommend?
You can do the test in a teaching hospital or in a standard laboratory like immunoassay or pathcare.

Have you done a Thyroid hormone profile. If not, you should do one.
What you described is what people call poor memory , buy it it may be an early symptom of dementia. If your Thyroid hormone profile is normal, you will need to see a neurologist.

OK like what happens at maturity on the I -invest app, will your investment and the interest earned move from the 'portfolio balance' to the wallet balance?.

Yes it does.

I have been using the i-invest app for my TB because I am abroad and not easy to run the normal TB from here.
Yes the I-invest don't pay upfront interest but rather the interest is re-invested together with your principal to give a higher interest after the tenor matures.
For example you invest 1m for 364days at 14%, your interest should be around 140 k +- , but you realise that you interest will be around 160k, meaning your interest was compounded (your rate becomes about 16%).
It is a good app to invest in when you don't need the interest to use immediately.
Thanks
You are very correct. I have been using the app for about a year now.

What do you mean by divided is not paid regularly?

Interest in their Abacus MMF accumulates daily and they reinvest the accumulated interest automatically every quarter. They reinvest my interest on Jan 1st 2019 as at the last count.

And don't be undermine them because the interest is reinvested quarterly o, because that their quarterly reinvest still ends up giving me more total interest compare to IBTC who claim reinvest interest weekly.

I have been with both for more than 6 months, so i know what i am saying.

I was talking about FBN heritage fund.

Dividend is not paid regularly.
The last payment was in December 2017.
However, the value of your investment increases with time.

Usually after every 3 months
Thanks.
Then there's really no advantage of using one particular investment house over the other. Almost all the other MMF managers also reinvent after 3 months.

Mhenn this thread is low-key one of the best threads I've followed on Nairaland.

The last T-Bills I bought will mature in a few days. Do I have to go to the bank to request that my account be credited, or it's a purely automatic process?
Purely automatic unless you tick roll over at the inception of the investment.

i bought a 6 month tbills of 200,000 with first bank on the 7th of November. i requested for roll over after investment period (this is my first time of requesting for roll over). i was credited with 307.26 naira on the 15th. i felt i should have received more than what i was credited with. I would really appreciate clarifications. Thanks.

Your interest was reinvented to the last #1000.00 Naira.

I don't think your suggestion is right. No bank in Nigeria will give you 2 percent interest for depositing Euros with them.

It's usually less than one percent.

I get your points bro, and I perfectly understand how consumer perception influence purchase decisions. However the key word here is perception. Perception is not necessarily an established fact, that's the summary of my point.

By the way, investment is not all about searching for a risk-free platform. FG TBills only appears as the safest because it involves a whole government. If your government however fails to remit funds as promised, please don't expect Zenith bank or GTB to pay you back because of "integrity" or "image". No real banker or investment banker anywhere in the world would lure you with the " zero-risk" factor because no investment is totally risk-free. I'm sure you also know that beyond the FG Tbills, States also offer TBills. By simply relying on your conventional bank, you would never really know much about these options.

That being said, all I'm asking is that we should open our minds a little bit so that people with useful info won't keep it to themselves out of fear of being castigated.

A poster mentioned investment one here and the phantom rates he got, but I'm sure some of us simply looked, ignored and termed it as "scam". However, a little personal research would have revealed to us that investment one was (and is still is) a subsidiary of GTBank.

That it is not known by all doesn't mean it is not reliable. You don't expect them to queue in marketplaces opening accounts for clients (apologies to GTB & FCMB), because many of these investment banks in Lagos Island are not interested in 10k, 50k kind of investments.

I am not sure investment one is subsidiary of GTB.

Please everyone I just downloaded the I invest app and am about to invest #500,000 on it but I don't know if it is safe. Please I. Need your advice guys

This is my personal experience.
I've used the app since May. They actually compound your money and pay you your interest at maturity. It is fully backed by Sterling bank.
If you fund your account and indicate your ID number you can invest that same day but if you forgot to include your ID number then send them an email and it will be resolved within 48hours. You can actually buy TB from them on public holidays and weekends.
The only draw backs I have noticed so far is that if you terminate your investment before maturity you will lose 30% of the accrued interest and you need a minimum of 30 days after an investment to be able to terminate it.
I've keep quiet since because I felt the owners of the app were not doing enough advert for the app but they are doing so now on nairametrics.
