Tastes better than male akamu.

It shows that what you feed your taste bud is what it get used to. Babies can swear by it.

That's why it amazes me when people here bash foods based on tribe without giving their taste buds time to adjust to such meal.
Unless one is allergic to such food or its unhealthy, there is no reason why we can't eat anything from around the world.
If Nigerians can eat pizza or burger, they can eat anything. It's just useless pride.

So this drake has an AA dad?
No wonder he relates with black a lot.
The same with Mariah Carey.

I met an English Jamaican who came to do repair work at my place. Looked English with a little bit of twist and his accent was Caribbean so I asked if he has Caribbean background. Yes. Father and grand father were black. Grandfather traced his root to naija. Guy can cook and eat all naija food thanks to grandfather whom he grew up with.

Favourite is yam and suya.

@ topic. Not interested.

Continue bashing women through your forum seun.
They are leaving in their numbers. It will soon become all male forum. This forum shows the toxicity of Nigerian men towards women. There are some guys I admire their intellectual but get disappointed when they discuss issues about women. In other words, they are like the rest of Nigerian men who just can't function without stepping on women. Don't know if it's religion, rigid culture and low self esteem that causes that.

You will know the real man around you when you start making close to what he makes in a year, or the same and above what he makes. It doesn't hide. That insecurity will just appear from nowhere. Even pastors. That's why they preach submission and this is Africa everyday. As if they know the tribes in 54 countries in Africa and their cultures.

Op how does this one off case translate to women loosing land in Nigeria? The husband developed and financed everything on the land so it is justifiably correct for the court to give the man the land.

Women own alot of properties in Nigeria with no one collecting it from them so what exactly is your pointhuh
Women bashing as usual.
The way I'm seeing g it, the forum will be all male very soon. Can't count up to 5 active women here anymore. Goodluck to them.

Paying for streaming in Nigeria isn't all that popular . They should have done their study very well before investing .
Instead of investing such huge amount on streaming ,they should rather have invested in making good movies .
Netflix and showmax too will soon come out with their own stories too. Nigeria is a very harsh place to invest in most especially for foreigners coming with foreign ideas . Naija ma different place entirely
What killed them was poor quality, incomplete movies, bad customer service and not ready to adapt. Add pride. Nigerians in diaspora was the ones holding them together but pride killed them. Why subscribe for such treatment and horrible movies when you can entertain yourself via YouTube and the rest?

Really? shocked

Before youtube and Netflix, people like me want to support naija movies through platforms like irokotv. It was a horrible experience. I came late.

Those that promoted irokotv here have all gone and they were very passionate but here we are.
Alibaba of China is still humble. The richest man in the world is still humble. But you see us, any small breakthrough, we start forming owner of the universe. If I want naija movie, I will support actors on youtube. Do many of them and they are very popular even if they produce trash. It's even better. The money go straight to them.
TV/Movies › Re: Irokotv Shutdown: We Spent $100 Million, Yet It Didn't Work - Jason Njoku by descarado: 8:40am On Jun 04, 2025
Subscribed. They show mediocre movies. None is ever full movie. Very hard to navigate. Nigerians in diaspora were using that streaming site but they are so lax to effect new changes and move with the train. Most times, you can't even watch what they claim they have. And they have so little to chose from. So annoying I ended it before the end of one month.
Customer care is zero.
I remember when diasporians were complaining bitterly about their customer care here. One female name in particular.

They started and thought they have monopoly and did the Nigerian thing. Customers flee. I went back to them again but it was worst. They destroyed themselves. Also, they should have promoted their platform on social media very well.
Although I saw them on youtube, their promotion was archaic. They will show you advert and tell you to join them. Phew. Who does that now especially when you are looking for customers. Besides,Nigerian movies are enjoyed by Africans a lot.

Apart from what you’ve mentioned, there’s no other way. Money can’t solve anything without real people.
That guy was right in his submission.
We are overly sentimental and put undue obligations ti our family members by virtue of blood relatives.

The parents are only aged not sick. And the couple are still alive. There are very aged people living alone here. I sometimes wonder how they cope but they do. Their kids are wherever ecking out lives for themselves. The order of thing means it should be this way. One day,my kids will move on.
I'm making provision for my retirement already without disturbing their lives.
One of the reasons we don't develop is this saddling of responsibility. Because I gave birth and trained you doesn't mean you must sacrifice your ambition and life for me. The moment I decided to give birth to you, it is my responsibility and obligation to train and support you to the highest level of financial and emotional independence.
You will do likewise for your kids.

If I chose to live with you, it's just because I want to, not an obligation.

I lost a lot taking care of sick my mum. She didnt even make it to my marriage. Forget the so called blessings. I'm no better than others in my family.
I was just lucky and stubborn to stir back my life to the right direction. Some may not be that lucky.

Parents may need companion and somebody who can do some stuffs they cannot be able to do in the house and that's all.

Here, parents make plans for grand kids. During that age, I will prefer to be living with my grand kids and doing school runs and what have you than live with my kids. That way, I have companion and is kept busy. Retirement age now is75 as people live to 90 and 100. My kids visit and go back and grow their carers. When grandkids are old enough, I might be in a care home. Who knows.

Seyi is close to his dad cos of biz interest. It's normal all over the world where you have rich parents and you want to take over from them.

Not a bad thing especially for men.

Some parents know their kids more than they k ow themselves. Most times.e,when a parent tell you to go and marry, that parent know very well that having a family of your own will make you have a sense of purpose and in most cases stir you to the right direction.
Most men get their acts together the moment they marry and or have kids. That marriage is costly is bla bla bla. Na una make marriage ceremony expensive. 2 heads are always better than 1.

Yes but the impact is being felt now with the adult population. Those children are 10 and 5 years old or their about. It's a solution for newer generation but for gen X and millennials this is their reality: more men than women.
China didn't come close to Qatar, Japan and some other other countries that have more men than women. For its population, the number projected, it's not even up to 2%. Japan has more than 30% single men. Some even said 40%. There is no big deal about a Chinese man marrying non Chinese. It comes with China accepting other cultures and trying to fit in wherever they found themselves like others do. Indians are beginning to open up too. If you should pity, pity Japanese men.

Thank you. All you guys know is name calling. When confronted with facts, you appeal to emotions, and then call someone government agent.

LIke it or not, most nigerians do not pay enough in income tax. It does not make tinubu a good leader, and it does not negate corruption.

I used to repsect you man, yet here you are. I am really dissapointed in you.
Which fact?
I am a witness to that. The tax I pay now and when I was in Nigeria is so diff. Besides that area was my first degree. Nigerians pay triple what folks abroad pay and there is no accountability especially non government workers, artisans and traders. You can free your mind and fo your own research by meeting these people let them bring their secrets do you will see for yourself.

Don't follow govt blindly.

Politics › Re: Only 19% Of Nigerians Pay Taxes, Says FIRS Boss by descarado: 7:05pm On May 29, 2025
nairalandadeux:
But most of us don't pay income tax.

Call me when half your income goes on income tax, as happens in saner climes.

Again, you are not most nigerians.
Traders pay income tax every month in Nigeria.

In uk, if you are self employed, there is a way to calculate an estimate of what you should pay.
In Nigeria, they don't do that. Those local govt officials quote figure for you based on what they assume you will be making and you oay that every month. Local govt tax traders pay every month is income tax and it's more than what workers pay.
A mama put by the side sometimes pay more than a director. Then they come with other petty petty levies. That's council tax.
And still, you take care of stuffs after paying all these.

Unless that Nigerian is not making money.
Even in a hole, they will find them. What you should say is Nigerians pay more indirect tax than direct tax that is not accounted for. You see tax, since I was small, people have been paying tax. Even my grandparents.

My grandma said though fighting was going on, her parents were paying tax during the war. They were big merchants( sold tobacco, cig and those stuffs).
