FOR WOMEN SCOTLAND, you did well. It took these women (3) of them under this umbrella and those behind them to fight for the right of biological females. That is feminism we are proud of and want to be associated with where our daughters are protected from wolves have started swallowing them up already without care. They made biological females feel so bad and frustrated because they can only come alive when they subdue their enemy which is woman. They want to reduce women to 12 century slaves, courtesan, mistresses and what have you agsin who only live for the sole pleasure of men. Women right fought for over the centuries in the mud. |
Gerrard59:I can tell you about south Korean politics, culture and traditions more than I can talk about Nigeria. The rest of your write up means nothing to me. Don't talk about a country if you know nothing about their culture and traditions. |
You can protest but don't damage properties. These people are so aggressive. Gosh. |
Gerrard59:South Korean ranked 105th out of 146th in ge der gap. Do you know what that means? |
basilico:When wokeism happens, logic is thrown out of the window. 1+1 is no longer 2. So we need the law to draw us back to basics |
The NHS will be pursued if it does not follow new guidance on single-sex spaces, the chairwoman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has said. Along with other public bodies, the NHS will be receiving guidelines after the UK Supreme Court unanimously ruled a woman is defined by biological sex under equalities law. "We've been speaking to the health service for an inordinately long time - we will now be asking them when they will be updating their advice," Baroness Falkner told BBC Radio 4's Today programme. Currently the NHS guidance says trans people should be accommodated according to the way they dress, their names and their pronouns. Under the ruling this would be scrapped. Five key takeaways from Supreme Court ruling The EHRC says it is "working at pace" to provide an updated code of conduct for services, including the NHS and prisons, and it expects its updated guidance to be in place by the summer. The ruling could have implications for spaces such as hospital wards, changing rooms and domestic refuges. Asked whether the EHRC would pursue the NHS if it doesn't change, Baroness Falkner replied "yes we will". "We will be having those conversations with them to update that guidance," she said. An NHS spokesperson told the BBC the service was "reviewing guidance on same sex accommodation" and as part of this process "will consider and take into account all relevant legislation and the Supreme Court ruling". Wednesday's case was brought by women's rights campaigners who challenged the Scottish government, arguing sex-based protections should apply only to people that are born female. Judges ruled that when the term "woman" is used in the Equality Act it means a biological woman, and "sex" means biological sex. This means a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC) - a legal document that recognises an individual's gender identity - will now not change a person's legal sex for the purposes of the Equality Act. The Supreme Court justices argued this was the only consistent, coherent interpretation. There is already Equality Act guidance which allows for women-only spaces, such as toilets, changing rooms and hospital wards in certain circumstances. But under the new ruling a person who was born male but identifies as a woman does not have a right to use a space or service designated as women only. That includes transgender women who have legally changed their gender and hold a GRC. 01:27 Media caption, Baroness Falkner talks to Today's Nick Robinson about the Supreme Court ruling Baroness Falkner said trans people should use their "power of advocacy" to ask for facilities including a "third space" for toilets. "Single-sex services like changing rooms must be based on biological sex if a male person is allowed to use - it's no longer a single sex space." She added the ruling was "a victory for common sense only if you recognise that trans people exist, they have rights and their rights must be respected". British Transport Police said trans women in custody would now be searched by male officers as an interim measure while it reviews its policies and practices. "Under previous policy, we had advised that someone with a GRC may be searched in accordance with their acquired sex," a spokesperson said. "However as an interim position while we digest yesterday's judgement, we have advised our officers that any same sex searches in custody are to be undertaken in accordance with the biological birth sex of the detainee." Baroness Falkner said the next stage of litigation may well be tests of the efficacy of GRCs. Asked about whether she thought GRCs were now "worthless", she replied: "We don't believe they are. We think they're quite important." The new guidance could also have an impact on women's sport, where the question over whether transgender women can participate has been a high-profile issue in recent years. Sports have tightened up rules around transgender athletes at the elite levels. Athletics, cycling and aquatics have banned transgender women from taking part in women's events, while other sports have put in place eligibility criteria. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch said a review on gender and equality laws was "a good idea". Speaking to broadcasters during a visit to Cambridge, she said: "We need to make sure that the law is clear and the public bodies follow the law, not guidance from organisations that don't understand it." She added the laws needed to be updated to ensure that they are "there to prevent discrimination, not for social engineering". 01:05 Media caption, Watch: What Supreme Court's ruling on the definition of a woman means... in 65 seconds Scottish Greens MSP Maggie Chapman, a prominent supporter of trans rights, told the BBC's Good Morning Scotland programme the decision would "stoke the fires of the culture war" and trans people now feared they could lose access to facilities they've used, in some cases, for decades. She added that trans people had been attacked in recent years "just for being who they are" and she was "concerned" about the impact of the Supreme Court decision. Trans rights campaigners have said they will be examining the judgment closely to decide on their next steps. The UK government has welcomed the "clarity and confidence" for women and service providers brought by the judgement. A government spokesperson said: "Single sex spaces are protected in law and will always be protected by this government, and trusts should follow the clarity the ruling provides." Health minister Karin Smyth said the government would be reviewing the ruling to "make sure we are fully compliant with it" and would be working with equality bodies to make sure organisations were fully compliant. She said the government was not interested in "so-called culture wars" and believed that everybody should have "their dignity and privacy and their rights respected". "I think now is the time to make sure that we look to the future, that rights are very clear for people and that service providers absolutely make sure they comply with the law," she said. For clarity. THE SUPREME COURT NO MATTER WHERE IT SITS AS LONG AS ITS CIVIL MATTER REPRESENTS ALL PARTS OF UK. UNLESS IT CRIMINAL CASE, THEN SCOTLAND ACTS ON ITS OWN. THE CASE THAT WAS RULED RECENTLY WAS A CIVIL CASE. |

Not handling midlife crises well coupled with depression. Unless he has already burnt the bridge, his family should intervene. One babawalo must have told him his misfortunes will stop the moment he start serving the gods of his land. Lol. |
Racoon:What has his behaviour in common with OCD? In Nigeria, OCD should be the most misunderstood and interpreted mental illness. If you talk to a Nigerian who is obsessed with cleaning, he will tell you he has OCD. Lol. |
bemeruca:Bobrisky came to mind. He said he doing what he is doing to get attention and money I an interview with chude. Somebody that said he will marry and have kids. When his dad died,he became normal and a man. And the media awarded him best female dressed in a country like Nigeria. He went too far and didn't know when to stop. That's how these people are. Give them one, they will demand for 2 and when you refuse, they will come for your hide. The west was very impatient. Should have learnt from Thailand. |

raumdeuter:It takes the Supreme Court of England to fight for women's right. I know they will get it right. It's just a matter of time. Biology defied. We can as well stop studying it and let activists define the society for us. The vibe is good. Today, I saw kids being kids in a park playing and running around in fountain water while wards and parents watch. Kids were just kids. That is how it should be. |
Investors are flocking to the state cos foodstuffs are cheap. |
richmond500:So all the ladies in your family and life prefer yahoo boys? Talk is cheap indeed |
basilico:Yes, that is paining people so much. And females who should stand up for their fellow females are actually the ones encouraging this. This is where feminism should have had a voice and gain more members but they left feminist ideologies and became woke in the hands of politicians. The speed with which this started gaining momentum in schools around me especially primary was alarming. Kudos to whoever that will explain that simple biology to kids. |
Tuface, na only woman matter you dey carry for head. This is your state. I'm sure he has stopped going home. |
cococandy:I think that govts sincerely is not handling this lgbt stuff well hence the public outcry and disdain. Females have automatically become a protected characteristics which ought not be that way. For example, in locker rooms to show fairness and Equality, get a locker room for them. They are literally forcing them into women space and we can see most of the repercussions. Anybody can claim anything and automatically lopped with women who they can take advantage of. You want to participate in sports, do that on with your own and not women. Just don't crawl on a woman's space. That is what I think that the Supreme Court considered as being unfair. Another examples, in some unis here, there are so many foreigners and schools will automatically shut down when they stop coming in. Those foreigners might not care about lgbt as long as they don't crowd their space. The moment they start doing that, that is the end of educational tourism which no western govt will want cos the students will stop applying. Schools in the west are open today cos of international students. It's one thing to push an agenda, then again, think about others while doing that else it's selfishness. I have no problem with Anybody but don't gag my freedom. That is what they do and it's disgusting. I didn't make a survey so won't cook up a stat but lots of people are not happy about these things. It wasn't this wild and endearing until American govt started pushing and forcing countries to embrace that. Uk has gender recognition act since 2004 and systematically creating awareness for the public but what is happening in America emboldened these guys to start going all out like in America. The same with Thailand. Though called gay capital of the world and there is no thai drama gay will not be recognised. They created awareness for centuries. Lgbt gained unofficial recognision in Thailand since 14th century and it's only this year same sex marriage was signed into law. Those going to Thailand to marry these past yrs must have thought differently. They must have thought it was elderorado. This was a fight fought for since centuries ago. Majority if not all thai people accepted them before they were officially recognised. The west is literally new in this and they want to run before crawling. And here we are. They have not yet started. Also, thailand didnt force other countries to join them like america is doing. I studied Thai gay community cos I was fascinated by that when I started watching Thai lakorn. The gay community in Thailand is so different from what we see in the west. So opposite. Uk is even calm and cool but America with their gra gra spoiled everything. |
budaatum:Talk to Supreme Court judges, not me. I didn't make that ruling yesterday. They did. |
bemeruca:Leave coco alone. Fighting no dey tire una? I don't want to come here everyday to fight. I sincerely don't have the strength. E joo. |
What is equalities act 2010? The Equality Act 2010 legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society. So Supreme Court is saying trans are not protected by the act. Case study is that latest one I posted up there. I may have missed one or 2 things but that is just the summary. There are some patients that don't want trans healthcare practitioners to attend to them no matter what and they are brits. If trans people attend to them, they are violating this right cos they are not biologically female or male. Also some may be highly traumatised and resist service. Actually, it's happening already. That case was a big disappointment to everybody. What a great sigh of relief. Kudos to the Supreme Court. That is what they should be. Voice to the voiceless. I am thinking that case will be summarily dismissed and the nurse apologised to, recalled and compensated. Therapy should be included cos she will be so traumatised by how the system betrayed her. |
Judges at the UK Supreme Court have unanimously ruled that a woman is defined by biological sex under equalities law. Greatest win of the century!!!!!!! I am speechless. Modified. Not long ago, a female nurse was fined and sentenced to jail in a very controversial ruling because a man who identified as a female was changing in a female locker room where only her was in and almost naked and she was not comfy with it and told the he/she/they to leave. The he/she/they laid a complaint about discrimination and blabla bla bla. Fast forward ti 2 yrs or so later, the female nurse was found guilty and charged I think last month. Female healthcare workers started looking for work outside frantically and they know what's coming so Supreme court has to put an end to the drama cos that ruling will spring up more things that doesn't make sense. So yeah, I can change my work clothes in peace. Na toilet we dey enter. |
When police don't do their jobs, vigilante emerges. Look at his face. ![]() |
Atiku is watering a rock. Does tinu care, nope. He has people that defend his actions under his pay roll. Expect them to start working. His people are happy. National cake dey enter their hands. That's what matters. The moment they stop eating, they will remember patriotism. It's their turn to enjoy. That is the reality of Nigeria that politicians spend billions on electioneering |
wink2015:Nigeria want to put head in agriculture? ![]() How? On whose lands? Agriculture is 100% private and highly capital intensive and most times govt prop them up financially by subsidising some things so they can keep on performing optimally. Gains don't come immediately. We are yet to talk about battles that are more important than humans doing Xmas everyday in the farm while owners look on helplessly. Talk another thing abeg Anything that is not share money don't attract Nigerian govt and politicians. |
nairalanda1:Why is crude oil your main source of revenue? You no get brain to do what others are doing? Abeg, I no get strength for long argument. If crude oil revenue fall, you can start selling acres of lands to foreign investors so they will put them to better use and generate the much needed revenue for your idle and docile political class whose only work is to share money. Then travel round the world to party. |
