Realist12:How exactly do you answer a person who thinks the revolt against extortion from Agberos was 'yesterday', in your words? Except you moved into Lagos within the past six months, that I can understand. Nah. You need to come off from under that rock you're living in.
|
PureFace1:Dude, even in the South East, they are called 'agboro'. Tells you all you need to know about the origin. Stop with this because the agbero are Yoruba excuse. It's not a bad thing to have a decent living. Paying taxes isn't wrong. Extortion is wrong. Doing that with violence is even worse. As far as Alaba is concerned, the Northerners there are not subjected to this extortion for obvious reasons. Not their shop owners, not their bikemen. Those suya knives definitely don't know the difference between cow flesh and human flesh. But it's the people who are docile that these extortionists want to hone their skills on. When you push a person until their back hits the wall, there's no where else to go but to push back. That's what happened. |
Realist12:This submission and your username are not in sync. Revolt against agberos extortion was today? Omo.. You're not just living under any rock, but an igneous rock ![]() Nothing realistic about your take. |
The father is wild. |
They want a lasting solution. Even though Igbos dominate the market, we also have Yorubas dominating some forms of trade and Northerners dominating the Bureau d'Change and cart haulage areas. And while the Northerners may not be subject to this level of extortion because their no-nonsense Alaba-Rago barracks is ready to send in brutal reinforcement to anyone who threatens their will to exist, the market suffers directly or indirectly from the activities of the miscreants and never-do-wells. Let them hold till sanity return. The LASG need time to decide which is more favourable to them; grooming urchins or tax remittance. They can have a better way of collecting taxes without making the market a crazy scene and setting up an IDP ranch for the miscreants elsewhere where they can take care of them. |
If you know, then you are morally bound to bring them to book because your silence can cause more death to other targeted individuals |
Obinoscopy:Oh Wow! You remembered?? ![]() Great to see you too, Obino! |
Obinoscopy:On the main thread it was announced here, there was a link to an e-copy. |
According to some seasoned analysts, Nigeria sleeps better so long as the Government disobeys the appeal court order. Such backward thinking. Even their brains would have frowned at that poor use of it. |

BATified2023:The thing about two-faced psychophants. With one side of their tongue, the exalt. With the other, they mutilate. The same Peter Obi that was saintly became a monster as he declared his presidential ambition. The same Seun Osewa you saw as unreasonable because he was against an unfit Tinubu's candidacy is now reasonable because of Agbado. Inside Life. |
BATified2023:You've dropped your pro-Buhari handle in favour of a shiny brand new pro-Tinubu handle for Tinubu to come and fix the mess your darling Buhari created. This same 'Cassava Garri Ewa' mantra mannequin that can't hold a steady poise without support? You're not well and you have no one to tell you. |
So we are to believe that somebody that is out of touch with reality and cannot make two coherent sentences without one error or the other is the brain behind this magazine ? I don't know the profession of every other person reading this post but as a school teacher, this is an insult to the sensibilities and normally intelligent nature of humans. |
lhordspy:Perhaps we should check it out? A simple Google search of just his title and first name yields his full names in many places and very very few of them is talking about him quitting PDP. That's prominent if you ask me, being the most popular person bearing that name in the whole of Nigeria. Give me your first name let's compare for context. ![]()

It's a pity we had to endure this disaster yet again. But it doesn't have to continue. You can be sure one candidate will finally prioritise the building of the dam if elected. It's the empathetic one. Vote wisely. |
Lucasinho:Yes nah. With Hologram video calling enabled ![]() |
LeoDeKing:You Agbado Ninjas should pick a side. Today James Nwafor is CSO. Still today, Peter Obi is CSO. Between James Nwafor and Peter Obi, who is the Chief Security Officer.. Final answer? You need to cook these things well before bringing them out of the kitchen. |
Highly misleading headline. And the statement attributed to the LP Vice President in the description is a half-truth. This is a deliberate effort to mislead people. |
Creamcrest:You mean the thugs have side hustles apart from thuggery? Wahala for person wey get legitimate business leave am dey do agbero work o What a sensible decision.

OP took a picture of Suntan Beach, Badagry and called it Ikeja, the Capital of Lagos

That the closure of the market is being jubilated over by certain persons is just a pointer at how noble the jobs of the agberos really are. In one light, they paint them as tax collectors. How come they are not being affected by the closure of their 'office'? It's just the traders bearing the brunt. Watch these same set of people come again to market these urchins as people with a decent source of Livelihood tomorrow. Vote wisely. |
You won't let them live. You won't let them die. |
Studying in the UK is not a myth. Their education system is far advanced than in Nigeria. That and Nigeria doesn't really inspire much confidence, particularly when you consider that the people at the helm of all affairs in Nigeria didn't really do much education to start with. |
Noise from all quarters. Peter Obi we want. Peter Obi we shall get. Nigerians stand strong. |
lhordspy:Oh, did you even read the details of what you quoted? “I can reliably inform you that this headline is not only misleading but totally out of context."Perhaps we should turn this into an English class. What do you do if what you said and turns out in its reported form to be misleading or out of context.
|
ganye1:Okay boss. |
Why exactly is Peter Obi's name here? You were able to give Atiku's exact quote even though it was said in Hausa. But not Obi's exact quote even though it must have been said in English. Agenda no go kill Una. |
Production not consumption. Production not consumption. Production not consumption. ![]() Of the total domestic debt owed by the 36 states in Nigeria, 28% is owed by Lagos. Of the total external debt owed by the 36 states in Nigeria, 15% is owed by Lagos. Guess what a 100% increment will do this debt profile? Production not consumption.
