You're quite right. Its better you start another thread like you stated, to iron-out the issues you raised with the other poster.

As usual, you haven't proved me wrong by attempting to derail this thread. I know your likes. Why didn't you write that statement in English?

Simple instructions for the general benefit of all, like I stated initially in the opening thread and still, adherence becomes such a problem!
Dem poe,

slow your roll, Nna man. I am here just to have fun and didn't say anything abusive in that statement up there. Take it easy, it's not that serious. Moreover, what is the essence of this thread, anyway? You lot complain about the prerequisite of state origin yet you are doing virtually the same here by asking people where they are from. Isn't it enough for you that they are Nigerian?

I fart on this thread!

@Black.rules,

Seriously, these are burning questions that I've been dying to have answered by Yoruba Kwarans. I would really appreciate it if you and J12 and other Kwara Yoruba can give me your perspectives on this issue. I also would like to hear from th Okun people of Kogi state.

Shall I open a thread to discuss it? Would you indulge me, pls?

Black.rules, how do you feel about being ruled by the Fulanis? Also, if you lot are truly Yorubas, how come you didn't vote for change in the last election? Why are you non chalant about being ruled by a family dynasty? Why are you not agitating to be in the Southwest?
BusinessRe: Lagos State Plans 114MW Power Plant: Fashola Does It Again by Desola(f): 5:14am On May 27, 2011
Great initiatives; which are synonymous to BRF- anyway. My fear is: is 4 years enough to actualise all this man's dream for Lagos? How are subsequent administrators going to fare and are they going to be dogged and result driven as he is? Would we continue to progress and not have mismanagement stall al these good works? What is next for Fashola after state administration? Would he stay on in the SW and become consultant to governors in that region? Personally, I wouldn't want him to dabble in Federal politics as we know that those demons know how to turn an angel into a demon. How do we as a region continue to churn out great visionaries such as him?

The long and short of my story is: Can Lagos produce another administrator of Fashola's caliber?
PoliticsRe: Oluremi Tinubu Is Itsekiri by Desola(f): 10:11pm On May 26, 2011
Itsekiris are Yorubas anyway, so what gives? Anyway Remi is Yoruba from SW not Yoruba from SS.

PoliticsRe: Aljazeera Airs A Heartbreaking Program About Lagos(25 May 2011 -Video) by Desola(f): 2:43pm On May 25, 2011
Puhlease! For a second there, I decided against watching the documentary because of the emotional outpours by some posters. So, i've seen it and it's nothing different from the BBC documentary "Welcome To Lagos". Infact, i'd say that was more thought provoking than this one is. This  video only sought to display the stark reality of events in Lagos and I thought it did it justice.

Some people have said that Fashola is elitist and only concerned with the affluent. However, they fail to see that if people keep making Lagos their destination of choice due to the belief of making quick money, and the population keep increasing by the hour, Fashola can not be the messiah to the masses. Lagos is absolutely congested and once migrants from other states start to realise that in order to make the money that they seek, they would be living in the most deplorable of circumstances, the better for them. Fashola is nobody's daddy. He is there to ensure that you have the basic necessities as a human being who has the right to live in the state. It is not up to him to provide you job but to foster the environment in such a way that it wouldn't be difficult for you to achieve that desire. It is the state's government to provide security, good roads, pipe born water, justice et al. However, we all know how the government of the state have been stifled by the federal government in providing electricity and good roads. Lagos is doing exceptionally well with the resources it has at its disposal.

Yes, I am a Lagos indegene and as much as I think it is ridiculous to ask those who are not indegenous to leave, it seems to me now that it is one of the solution to the problems facing the state.

What all these migrants should do now is rather than leaving their states and their state governors to embezzle the money allocated to them as a people, they should start demanding for their rights in their states. Other state governors are the ones laughing now because they have so much fund and so little people to disperse it to so they end up hoarding it all to themselves. Your states are rich, so start demanding for your human rights. Don't leave your states, ask your government to provide for you! This is the reason why some people from the east believe that their states are doing better than some other states in Nigeria. That notion is a big misconception because if half of the population have left to Lagos, and their government have half the population with the allocation for a full population, of course they would appear to be rich.
IslamRe: Why Are Yoruba Muslims More Backward Than Yoruba Christians? by Desola(f): 7:24pm On May 23, 2011
Yorubas seem to be falling for this trap - hook, line and sinker! This is just a trap to get Yorubas to argue against each other over religion for the ibos to relish.

Fact is, be it Muslim, Christian or Osun worshiper, Yorubas don't give a hoot about religious differences. Our culture is so strong so much so that it binds us irrespective of our religious orientation. As opposed to some, a Yoruba christian believes that the muslims serve the same God, hence the reason why you see us getting on swimmingly.

I am a christian whose background is Islam. I have muslim names, yet, i've never practised the religion. 95% of Yoruba christians have muslims in their family, that if not immediate, then it would be extended.

We don't fight over religion so abeg find something else to say. Try harder!
PoliticsRe: Nice Time Magazine Piece On Lagos by Desola(f): 8:37am On May 21, 2011
With its proximity to Lagos, Ogun state should be smiling, but alas, the opposite is the reality. A good number of these industries would readily invest in Ogun state if we had a governor who possess' half of Fashola's vision and capabilities. As a matter of fact, the whole of SW should be smiling for the kinnd of investments they would derive via Lagos but the egotistical lots can not look beyond their own importance. I really hope that Ogun can at least see this as a wake up call and start to work with Lagos. I mean, what does Lagos have(except the sea port) that Ogun does not possess or could not develop? Ogun can seriously help in decongesting Lagos.

I am an indegene of Lagos and as much as there are many positives in this article; I am also not in denial about its stark negatives. Ogun states should now position itself as a very attractive alternative to these industries.
PoliticsRe: Ajumobi Is An American, So Akala May Still Be Governor Of Oyo State by Desola(f): 9:41am On May 20, 2011
The clause is also that renunciation should be done within five months of registration? Isn't Ajimobi now out of time should he be considering renuncing his American citizenship?

Someone elighten me, please.
