Well done OGD! Generations would remember you as the yeye leader who bought Ogun to its knees. Oloshi lasa-lasan Amosun, you are borrowing to pay salaries now, yet bringing in more overheads and offering free education? What is the plan? We are not dunces o. Even the UK is having to cut here and there to reduce deficit but you seem to wan to raise the deficit. While you're resting on your oars, IMO state governor is meeting with Fashola to discuss partnership and you are attending yeye meetings in Abuja. You better head down Lagos and discuss how you can jointly build roads to interlink Lagos to Ogun so that you can benefit from investments and attract the Lagos populace to buy and build homes in Ogun while providing good road network to facilitate easy commute from Lag to Ogun. Eko Ile, I agree with a good chunk of your arguments ie, the SW can/should groom greater leaders who would surpass the works of Awo and that Awo himself would have wished that we progress on his work. That we shouldn't bask only in past glory but strive to attain greater heights. I wouldn't however agree with you that the SW voted for ACN to have TInubu at the helm of their affairs, rather they voted to see Fashola's good work replicated in their states too. Fashola was the winning formula for ACN and not Tinubu. Yes, we applaud Tinubu's ingenuity when it comes to dealing with the stronghold of the center but we don't want him lauding it over us in the west. He is the Asiwaju of Lagos and not of the entire Yoruba people. He does not merit that accolade. |
Why is it that NL creates new bigots everyday as old ones die off?. Your continuous mention of the Igbos shows nothing but inferiority complex. Can you make a complete sentence without making reference to Igbos?. Are you Igbo crazy?. What has this question got to do with Igbos?.Are you done m4sturb4ting? Yeah? Okay. I know that you are a few bricks short of a wall so I won't suffer a fool gladly. ![]() |
Jona would be impeached! Mark my words! |
Lol, Ileke idi, you just pafuka the poor boy. I don't even know how to respond as i've been laughing my head off here. ![]() |
Edicolove, You make very compelling arguments. Should OBJ leave, the centre would no longer hold. Yoruba is the only strong opposition against the Northen domination and with their biggest threat gone, the Ibos would just be to happy to chop and quench. We know that they do not care about the future of Nigeria but about Biafra. Although, with the Hausas holsing sway, Ibos Biafra would not materialise but they have always been comforted with hand me downs, anyway. |
No bleeping compensation for nothing! This is a democracy and it should be treated as such! Why give someone a position because of where he's from? The Southwest do not want to be handed positions, we are meritorious enough and have very capable men but to say you are compensating us is a bloody insult! Give it to ibos, they would be happy! Not all this positions are for the good of any particular region but for personal gain. A minister should be appointed based on proven track record and the ability to deliver and not because his name is Awolowo or Ogendengbe! We don't think like the ibos, we are different! You cannot appease us with positions because we have foresight. We are dreaming big while you want us to think just about now. Our aims are not just for now but the future. Don't try and destabilise us with your stupid positions. A position which would last for 4 years is not good enough. We want liberty, freedom and fairness. We want our people to do well collectively and if we have to play regional politics to achieve that, then so be it! I would rather be a marginalised Nigerian but a proud, wealthy and healthy Yoruba woman! Yorubas should shun all these rubbish and look inwardly! So long as our monthly allocation isn't tampered with and we contribute our fair share to Nigeria, let's shun this nonsense! When the time comes, we would emerge but for now, let's build a strong Yoruba economy and we would be the envy of the world and not Nigeria alone! |
With all said, nonetheless, I fear for Jonathan's longevity should OBJ quit. The man would be made totally redundant! |
Who gives two fingers if you stay or leave? This is no longer the military era, we are now in democracy. DEATH TO ZONING!!! You can take your speakership and stick it where the sun don't shine! Maintaining that speakership goes to the Yorubas and them getting it means that zoning would be kept alive and come 2015 or 2019, you would want to foist an ibo man on us. Well, that isn't gonna happen! We will not let that happen! If however, an ibo man, Hausa man, Ibibio man, Igala man, Yoruba man emerges by merit, then by all means let them get the position. NO TO ZONING!!! |
Stop getting your knickers in a twist girl! If there is any butt kissing to be done, it most certainly wouldn't be from me and I express my opinion without a care for whoever ox is being gored. I am not for currying favour or pussy footing for anything let alone an internet forum. However, in the sam token, I would praise whoever is carrying out their duties diligently. If you are nauseated about the 'praise singing', then do yourself a favour and throw up. You either like it or lump it! Worraheck! |
Ola_pluto, Ori e pe ju! I couldn't have said it better. |
Very effective guy indeed! Thanks to Seun and Jarus who opened a forum for us to discuss nominating a new mod that resulted in the emergence of oa4mj. Was spam botted and banned from posting all day yesterday. One contact with the moderators and this gentleman went into swift action to rectify the issue. Well done, and please keep the good work up and don't fall by the sideway. Your efforts are appreciated. |
2much, You are getting a tad emotional and sentimental here. Yorubas would say: "ti oju ba farabale, aa rimu" which translates: If the eyes are patient, it would see the nose. Politics is not a game of hurry, if you play it hurriedly, you become like the ibos. You have to show your hand slowly, Okay, tell me how being in the number 4 position would have augured well for the Yorubas. Give me one good reason - just one. Whilst at it, tell me how being a deputy anything puts you in power. How is Sambo as the deputy president affecting his region or even decision making? Cant you see how the government keep surpressing the ibos? You call being made a disposable secretary power? You call being a deputy senate leader effective? How many deputy presidents or prime ministers can you name at the top of your head? I guess not many, and you know why? It's because they are irrelevant and are just figure heads. They never come into relevance except at the demise of the figure head. Perhaps if David Mark get killed, then the deputy senate leader might come to the fore, but we know that is a tall order. These people have been made redundant but given a post just to show face and you are crying up and down. Why should we concern ourselves with speakership when we can go back, regroup and come out stronger for the bigger cake? You can join the ibos in their lamentations o, it's your prerogative. |
Wizardofoz, You sure do underestimate Tinunbu, don't you? Tinunbu is. Not so fooled to think that the SW view him as the new AWO, no, not ever. The SW is well aware of Tinunbu's shadiness, however, we understand that he is a necessary evil at this point. He is very clever and politically savvy. He meddles in the dirty water of politics just as is required in the forced marriage of Nigeria. I can tell you now that Tinunbu is gunning for an CAN presidency but would not be myopic to put himself forward as a candidate. He would put forward someone whom he knows would do the job effectively and is well likeable but he would be the one pulling the strings. He knows fully well that he as a person, can not win the votes of the people - not in the SW and certainly not in the North. The power is not in being the president but being the one who controls the president. All the populace need to see is the masquerade but we know that it is the man behind the mask that performs the tricks. |
It is a win - win move for ACN because they knew that the electorates do not want OBJ back in the SW, which is also good for them because they don't need the PDP SW stifling their progress so, not voting Tawakalitu was not only strategic but it makes them shine as a non tribal party in the eyes of the Northerners ("won n da omi siwaju ki won baa le te ile tutu"). This way the SW has disqualified the SE from any future presidential race because those who voted CPC already see the SE that brought in the "infidel" and they would want absolutly nothing to do with them. We all know that the Hausa man, once he can trust you, he will remain loyal to you so, by A.C.N sacrificing their own for the North, the north have seen an ally. Tinunbu will be hoping that Buhari doesn't run, come 2015 and CPC fields a not-so_strong candidate and that would help the SW clinch the PDP and CPC votes because PDP should have imploded by then. Basically, GEJ has provided an avenue for ACN to grow by killing zoning and the ACN are doing their darnest to keep it that way. With merit, the SE would not even feature on the ballot papers, let alone be voted for because they have showed all their hands even before the real game began. You should watch |
alh harem, BABE has done a marvelous job at translating my french to you. On a final note as per Tinubu, I would let you know that his transgressions have not gone unnoticed but what the Yorubas are doing now is "e je ka le eyele lo na, ki a to bo a f'abo fadie" |
alh harem, With regard to Tinubu, i'll leave you with this statement: Yoruba never forgets. We say: "Oba to je, ti ilu toro, oruko o ni pare - eyi to je ti ilu daru na nko, oruko e o ni pare". The same Yoruba also say: "Oruko rere, o san ju wura ati fadaka lo" ![]() Go and get a decoder o, I no fit help you. ![]() |
They are wondering, "could this be the SW's messiah?" If the Southwest develops; if it works, it is going to show up our region "what is their next move? These people are cleverer than us o. We can't beat them so let's pull them down. So they didn't get the speakership, yet they are not crying, they are not lamenting everywhere. How are they dealing with not being in the mainstream? Do they have a joker that we don't know about? Lol, Yorubas would say: "Eni ti ti e ti baje, t'o n weni kunra". |
I wouldn't worry about those taking panadol for our alleged headache. Let the dead bury their dead o. What we need to understand is that some are very fearful of Tinubu because they don't know his next move. Tinubu is the rascal the SW absolutely needs right now and the man is too calculating to make stupid moves. He is mysterious; an enigma. When you enemies can't fathom your next move, they scamper around looking for answers and that is what those people are doing now. Check out my signature below, it's been there fore some time now. Tinubu, right now, is our lovable rogue. He is able to bite the bullet and not pander to the will of the centre for peanuts. He drives a hard deal and regardless of his supposed rascality, he is an absolutely necessary evil. HE IS OUR EVIL! The man just dey pull bird from pocket and una dey ask wether na red or na blue. Make una open una eyes na, una go see somtin. |
Ileke-Idi, ma je n binu si e o. Desola is my name, not Dashola o, ![]() ![]() |
PDP's greatest demise came when the SW not only voted ACN into governorship positions but when they gave landslide votes to the ACN to represent them in policy and decision making. ACN is systematically destroying the PDP and they do say that "a house divided itself will never stand". The PDP will of course be plotting the downfall of Tambuwal and when he is removed, some northerners would deem it not only as an attack on Tambuwal but a way for the SS president to marginalise them. The psyche of the northerners would start to shift away from the PDP and the NW would become a marginal seat which either CPC or ACN could claim. |
Hahahaha, some people just don't get it and they never will. I applaud this very tactical move by ACN. This is what politics should be about. ACN need not bother about the SW because they have put the SW in the hands of capable leaders. Now, they are aware that in order to prepare for 2015, the right move is to start canvassing in the north and the most viable seat now is the NC. This is very calculative and how politics should be played. No one said politics was a beautiful game, now, did they? I like how the ACN is boycotting SE in their quest because they know that the SE vote and their sheer hatred for anything AWO would not even let them consider voting for them. They are however going for the soft landing in the North Central and are trying to make an in road into the NW by voting Tambuwal in the recent speakership position. Anyone who thinks that the ACN voting a northerner into speaker leadership is suicidal for Yorubas knows nothing about politics. Why should the ACN risk puting the SW back in the hands of the PDP by voting Tawakalitu when they can gain more grounds by sowing discord within the PDP and put their house in disarray? A |
@Jazes, Weep no more. The truth of the matter is that we the youth are far worse than the oldies. Afterall the oldies, during their youthful days, witnessed law and order. We the youths however, were born and raised in 419 and total corruption. We know nothing else and it can only get worse. Infact, our generation is worse than the previous. In the past, our parents went to the US and the UK for education but now our generation would forge documents to leave the country by all means with the hope of coming back in a year to build a mansion and ride the choicest cars. Some would even risk their lives in the dessert to cross the African border to get to Europe while somme others would resort to ritual killing or become drug barons. How many Nigerians have been killed in South East Asia for drug peddling? Let face the glaring fact - Nigeria has no future! |
Itshekiri are just what Eguns of Ogun and Lagos are to Yoruba nation. Lost but found dialectsSeanet03, are you same as seanet02? You guys confuse me a whole lot! @Kpogede, Thanks for the clarification. You have done well. |
