davidflo: who is talking about death nw, unfortunately my prior statement remains..but i must say ur yoruba is outstanding, perhaps uwill do well in yoruba literature instead of voicing out ur frustration on nairaland..u are young at brain too.. no wonder u spew things decent ladies will not say, i av concluded that u are either jobless, barren, too old to be single or just a freak...u wnt die before ur time nor any female close to me....adesola olori jatijati...heheheheYet when you look at the females in your family, all that you see are all the symptoms you described above. May such ailment continue to be perpetrated in your family from generation to generation. Ase wa! |
take dat: Has anyone tried to confirm d veracity of this report. Apart from Thisday, none of the mainstream news outlet is reporting the installation. Have they all been bought over by Tinubu? Can someone be installed Iyaloja outside iga idunganran(kings palace)? Has the market association released an official statement, acknowledging that they have a new iyaloja?Isn't that what I was saying before you came in to start hailing the so called kings council's decision as the king's wishes? Pshew! Common sense is now starting to creep in after the display of shame. O wa n se damage control. |
davidflo: u sound like ur mother really wanted that position and lost it....anyways lets agree to disagree anti mi.. e ma binu...its a forum thingy, still av the utmost respect for u..afterall u are my anti n i am yoruba..Olori buushan talo l'anti iya? Jo o, I am young and no where close to the grave yet. That hole that has been dug if for a female closer to you. The headstone doesn't bear my name. |
slimghost: If you are serious about the bolded son, then you should start by denouncing sycophancy and hypocrisy. they can mess up the brain, you know. You get mind, i swear! See pot calling kettle black! |
davidflo: how is demdem's statement nonsense? ta ban su ekun ka si ma riran o.. u are too yoruba to deny that you dnt knw its a chieftaincy title. my grandma was the iyalaje of apapa till she died. nw my aunty holds the position..she is nee owolabi, u can verify...y nt complain abt that or is it cuz it aint juicy enuf? You for don say. I didn't know that the oriburuku and nepotism was a lineage thing. Now I know. Awon were to n je ninu kilu baje na niyi. Awon woobia! Ase iran awon ole lo ti wa? Awon jegudujera. Awon olosi! |
KINGwax: may i remind u ma, that there is no mortuary on Nairaland! If u die so, u go stay rotten ni oNa the same mortuary go bury the boat wey sail you come this earth. |
Olufon-ade:another ode raised to the power of infinity. Take oba to court for exercising (albeit nepotistically) his prerogative power. Iru awon arindin wo lo wa ni forum yi na? |
Demdem: U need to be enlightened but before then go to the opening post and read again.honestly, you need to put a sock in it. I am so bored of reading your posts! Same old plenty nonsense! |
PStylish: All of them rode (directly or indirectly) on the influence of their fathers or relations who used to occupy the office to both bag their parties' tickets and then win the election thereafter. When we talk about succession in the monarchy, we know that it is hereditary but when we talk about members of the king's council, they are not all hereditary, they are done by appointment. This particular title is not an hereditary one and it is for that reason that I am opposed. If it were hereditary, you would not see me here at all but the Tinubu's family have now laid precedence by doing that which was not historically done and have now made the post hereditary. There are systems in the government of a market and market women normally converge to pay respect to the most active, most dignified of their compatriots. It is with this view, I suppose that the market leader is usually appointed by the Oba. In this particular case however, the Oba, has been greatly influenced not by the market women but by the power that was perhaps instrumental in installing him and have deferred to such power and probably heavily induced to appoint Tinubu's daughter whom going by age, does cannot be said to have the experience of other older market women in Lagos. Let's call a spade a spade, this is nepotism and it is wrong. Is it not clear that Tinubu wants to run Lagos as his own empire? Does not being a Tinubu make you a lesser indigene of Lagos? Of course it is no news that the Elites rule but don't go about it smacking us in the face with it. Every child need to know that they have have a belief and that there is an environment for such belief to come true. Our children must aspire to attain greater heights; must be able to think that some day, they can also become the governor of Lagos state without having to be sub servient to the Tinubu's family. They should know that should they work at at being brilliant market traders, they can also someday find confidence in the midst of their peers and obtain the kings favour. No child should be told how much they can attain. Lagos belong to us all and the Tinubu's family must not contain our progress or dictate to us how far we can go or decide our authenticity as Lagosians. This rubbish must be stopped! |
PStylish: I rememberodenson! We dey tok of imposition eleyi n so, free and fair election. Where did you crawl out of again? ibo lo ti ja wa to lokun lorun? |

Demdem: Fool, its good ur question was "when last" and not "have I ever". Boy, I insist u are really daft. That makes two of you, then. |
austinkenneth: I think we Nigerians should not just compare Tinubu to Jonathan and try to see who is better. The truth is that they seem to have both lost it and they are not our messiah.I could kiss you!!! Very well said! Very very well said! I like it when people with no party affiliation and clear conscience such as yourself speak out. It thus gives me hope that there are still intelligent youths with deciphering minds who are not easily swayed by money or instant gratification. You are one of the few that I would class as intelligent. Yes, I might be pro-Yoruba but I would not watch while the same people who claim to be pro Yoruba or pro democracy perpetrate the same ills that the so called enemies do. Tinubu is not the Yoruba messiah and far from being Nigeria's messiah. He works to become autocratic, to become the Alpha and Omega and his greed and the show of it is what will eventually befall him. His days are numbered! |
ajanaku2: Sheer Disrespect!ma worry dear, ko ni picture awon agbalagba nile ni. ![]() |
Akanbi_edu: Of course she is, just that her sense has no electoral value.just as yours has no "deductional" value. |
switdil: Ignorance at its peak. That kinda position is not meant for babies but real woman with power, experience and energy. Has she ever been to market bfor that she ll know wat dey do there? I pity her mother, those market witches r hungry o.another one with sense. O se! |
Akanbi_edu: This is no fight. More like boxing empty space. But of course. I have to fight the empty space that has taken permanent residence in your skull. I must put some brain cells in it. |
Demdem:You too? You are forming intelligent now? Lol...wetin eyes no go see for this forum o. Wo, abowaba loro ti e. A kii fete sile ka wa ma pa lapalapa. Na your day job you dey do. Oba in council ko, king in parliament ni. |
davidflo: when charles becomes king of England, am sure most of ur will protest, afterall it is nepotism that he inherited the position from his mother. i am also sure you guys would like to av a say on who becomes king, hehehehehehe. this is definitely one of the side effects of providing information to the slow headed, internet has made most of u feel bigger than the establishment .how many of you knew who was iyaloja before mogaji? and did you knw how she was even chosen? most of you run to balogun market, idumota ,yaba etc to buy cheap merchandise ....have u ever wondered why the traditional markets still works better than the others?kilafofungbemu yi n so o? |
Ice4jez: its clear u are intelligent but do u ve to insult and abuse pple to prove ur point.come abi na person way u know dey step aside give tinubu pikin cos u don dey vex since u enter.some one pls get this lady sometin to drinkAbeg go to the spare parts section of the forum ojare! |
Gombs: Aunty desola, frm my point of view, you are derailing this threadEnglish ko, oyinbo ni. |
Aderostock: please stop all these! you can see clearly that the people opposing this installation are non-yoruba, who are even calling the Oba of Lagos (non-political entity)all sorts of names. these discussions should be for the yoruba and the yorubas only. ok?so why are you here foaming at the mouth? Are you Yoruba? |
austinkenneth: My sincere hope is that as events unfold, Nigerians will realise more and more where the problem lies -- That our democracy is a government of the elite politicians, by the elite politicians, and for the elite politicians.Thank you for talking sense. It is a rare occurrence on this thread. |
slimghost: Calm down Desola, nobody is here to witch hunt. Personally, if Jonathan did the same thing, i would still condemn it. Whats BAD is BAD. Simple. If APC is truly the alternative to PDP, we need to see their leaders doing better than those of the PDP.Abeg park for one side. |
Akanbi_edu: Nothing wrong here.As a confirmed ACN card carrying member, you are not expected to know. Infact, you will forever be blind to it. |
jmaine: Whose daughter was installed in a glaring nepotic fashion despite his harsh denial earlier ? TINUBU !! No ?Vulture, that's what you are. You are only here to devour Tinubu's carcass and hopefully carry the left over to your oga at the top. Oloun ma ma je kota yo wa o. |
ajanaku2: Aunty Desola ti fi ake kori oooo!a kii banitan ka wa fani nitan ya, now... Tinubu ti n gun igi koja ewe! O ti n fawa lete, a de ma tuto! |
holluwai: Nigerians are being pushed and shoved around like we don't have any knowledge. Is this why they increase tutions in higher Institution everyday? So that the common man would lack knowledge but unfortunately we know what is right from what is wrong. Nigerians have options which is why we are yet to fight back and believe me(I don't pray we run outta options)when these options finish there would be a revolution and it would be very very very brutal. It is getting too much, fvcking with people and looking them straight in the eye like "what you gon do"? That day will come and it near already. "Maaku Maaku, ijo wo ni Maaku owa ni ku" I rest my case!ileke ma ja sile, ma ja soko - ibikan saa ni'leke ma jasi? |
Happy birthday, Governor mi to sure! Now, grow a backbone and help us rid ourselves of the imposing leader called Tinubu. We are solidly behind you sir. |
jmaine: Double post . . . .It is not derailment when your "sycophant in traning" slimghost has been trying to do exactly the same to Tinubu! |
