Katangora: you are right, i still wanna believe the news is false though, considering the source. And how old is Tinubu's daughter self? Cos we know the iyalojas are of ripe age & very influential considering there years of service.. Omo Tinubu oni fe teO ma se ke, intelligent somebody. |
Mynd_44: I am not saying the girl or lady justifies the position. I am explaining how if it happens it is beyond usRubbish wo niyen? Ma wa fi bredi ko wa lomi obe nibiyi o. Back your assertion with facts! Prove to us that the post is indeed hereditary and not just swanning in here to do abracadabra. Na jele o sinmi school pikin you tink say you dey follow yarn? |
The post of iyaloja can never be heriditary! Mynd 4, oya prove yourself, oniro oshi! |
Mynd_44: I don't describe humans according to tribe, race or nationality.Nonsense! So you're ibo! Time waster oshi! |
Mynd_44: I am not happy too but "oya ile baba mi ko"Wait o, are you even Yoruba? |
Mynd_44: Hate it or love it, it is happeningOf course, which is why it is sad. |
Mynd_44: The family chose and as long as no one from the family has spoken out against this, we can assumes that they agree with itWho can stand up to their breadwinner? As a bonafide omo isale Eko (whether enemies believe it or not) I am not happy with this latest development at all! |
take dat: Tinubu is the only surviving child of Mama.In that case: oro ti p'esi je! But sha, it could cause resentment towards the tinubu family sha. I know I'm starting to resent them. |
Moreover, why must it be tinubu's daughter? Didn't Alhaja Mogaji have other children? Tinubu just wants to eclipse his siblings sha! Over zealous greedy man! Na only him mama born? Must he be the alpha and omega?9 |
Garri the 1st: Its the tradition so what's d big deal??Tinubu's tradition. Osi o da! |
Oun ti o da, o da! Iyanje leleyi o |
Mynd_44: Iyaloja, balogun, Otunba and the afobajes........that's how it is. You can't chose a balogun from another family apart from those set aside for it na.Balogun - I know, but iyaloja, now that is news to me. So what if there was no other trader in the family? Moreover, shouldn't that title go to a much older woman? I think it's preposterous that the title is hereditary though but who am I to say. |
Yeske!:You reckon? Perhaps I'm from umiahia |
Mynd_44: You and I know that the post of Iyaloja is hereditary. There is a house that brings forth the iyaloja. The oba will not wake up and go pick one from the Dosumu family na.Are you sure that the title is hereditary? |
Seriously though, it won't be funny if this were found to be true. Tinubu might just have shot himself in the foot by so doing. At present, I'm still livid that his wife is the senator for Lagos. Making his sister an iyaloja would just be adding salt to injury. The Oba should think thrice o. |
enm: Lagos state does not need to tax more than they are already doing. Let the federal government today declared lagos a special status and more money to lagos and lagos to create or demand more tax, this problem will persist. It has clearly gone beyond more money now. I don't want more money, I just want a check on immigration and string deterrence measures to be put in place so that these people can stay in their region and demand more from their government. Enough is enough! |
iykak47: Rubbish. Op(nairaland number one bigot), don't forget also to tell 'your' Lagos state to stop going cap in hand to Abuja for monthly allocation which mainly comes from oil.You appear to fall in the category of the latter. |
Texas.Cowgirl:Lol... You don kolo, I swear! |
kelvincoll: U probably should have titled it "controlling southwest borders" since the victims of ur concern as those "from the other part of the niger"... SMH... But it has gone far beyond the imaginary igr now, hasn't it. Clearly, the revenues generated is not sufficient to cater for the teaming population and the constant daily influx is becoming alarming. Lagos is the smallest state in the country yet it houses so many people and all these people though not invited to Lagos are now dancing rights to basic amenities and infrastructures which is impossible to be met by the state government. The sad part is come census, these people return to their states to be counted which translates to undue revenue allocation for their state government yet return to Lagos to encroach us, the bonafide citizens . |
alj harem: It is really impossible given the fact that Lagos is under a country called Nigeria. Is it, really? Isn't Lagos equally a sovereign state? If it has power to remove unproductive non-indigenes like it did some ibo indigenes then surely, it can be suggested that it possesses the power to control it's borders, non? |
redsun: When you mentioned niger,i thought you meant niger republic. Not even become rich will be this wayward.Your point being? |
Given the daily influx of migrants from other parts of the Niger which have led to an obvious stretch and greater burden on infrastructure, isn't it time that the state of Lagos starts to control it's own borders? Nevertheless, is this initiative feasible given the freedom of movement rights of Nigerian citizens? If not feasible is the state therefore going to be left to its own fate until it fails or are there other control measures which can be taken to deter or control this surge? |
qhiwegh: Wow, I really hit a nerve here, so much hatred against my moderate comment.Do you think it would illegal for a state such as Lagos to control it's own borders? I think something ought to be done urgently. |
