Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 3:54pm On Dec 26, 2012
Seun: I think that's exactly what I came out to say, but I'll be happy to say it again: the whole hall of shame exercise is offensive! Thank you.
Offensive to who?

You? The commander in chief of the universe...oh! Sorry, it's only the poksy ol' nairaland!

Shiatsu!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 3:53pm On Dec 26, 2012
afam4eva: I don't know if you've been following desola's comments on this forum. She's one of the most ferocious tribalists on here and she has no moral justification whatsoever to attck seun fro what he did even though Seun may have erred. It's like satan protesting for the cancellation of the june 12 election when he is the architect of it and all evil things on earth.
You allude to the error of Seun, yet you can't find any moral justification on my part?

You are dim! And I see that reading and comprehension is not your forte.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 3:49pm On Dec 26, 2012
1stCitizen: Afam, I am one of those who takes genuine interest in your comments and dare say that playing the devil's advocate may not be in your best interest. Desola's annoyance is very much understandable although her outburst and choice of words might not be considered appropriate.

What Seun did is totally unacceptable and unfortunate. Lets call a spade a spade. Achebe is an achiever and no doubt he is a literary colossus that has done this country proud. He may have erred by his memoir based on the opinion of many Nigerians, but that is not my call to judge. The threads, comments and users of this forum are the pivot on which the success of Nairaland turns.

The issue is that "the owner" of Nairaland has acted inappropriately (even if he did with noble intentions). If seun had come forth to say that the whole exercise was offensive, then it would have been a different matter. Sticking up his finger at those moderators and the voters equally is draconian as reflective of the average Nigerian leader and such act should not be encouraged in any way.
My choice of words to one who inadvertently said I was high on crack are most definitely not misplaced, thank you!

funkybaby: The Achebe man in question. . .. Of what good has he been to his people/community?

Can they really point talk about any meaningful impact he has made on eastern Nigeria?

We all know what Awolowo did for his own people! smiley
bloody good question!

ndu_chucks: To my Yoruba brothers and sisters, in the words of the great artist Ogunde: Yoruba Ronu o!! Nuff said.
There is no ronu in this matter!

Seun wants to go down the path of Achebe and we will help him!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 3:17pm On Dec 26, 2012
Seun: @desola: the fact that you're comparing Professor Chinua Achebe to sex offenders is a sign that what you're smoking is bad for your health!
See your effing prejudice here?

By this one statement, you have shown that you do not have an iota of what public opinion means and what it takes to live in a democratic society! You are only fit to leave in the jungle of anambra, let alone given the free hand to run a website that hosts the most Nigerian youths. Privilege has clearly been misplaced.

Who gave you the right to impose that stvpid line of reasoning on the rest of us? That you think Chinua is a saint means the rest of us that do not see him more than a bitter, divisive and vindictive old shrivelled cripple are high on crack? So to be a Nairalander would be to see it in Seun Osewa's warped mind?

You are crazy and have totally lost your marbles, Seun!

Even madder to think you can impose your dirty, filthy, demonic reasoning on the rest of us!

We have the freedom of expression and not you, a demented webmaster would take that away from us!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 3:08pm On Dec 26, 2012
Seun: @Desola: Where did you get the idea that moderators are elected? That's false. Moderators are selected by me on mukina2's recommendation.
nominated by you, maybe, but voted by us!!!

At least I remember voting for Oam4j!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 3:07pm On Dec 26, 2012
It is not constructive to shame my arz!

Countries that put paedophiles on sex offenders list in a bid to shame them and make the public wary of the danger they pose are not constructive either, abi?

stvpidity at its peak!

Moreover, who made you the judge on what is constructive and that which is destructive?
Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 3:01pm On Dec 26, 2012
Seun: @desola: What I understand from your rant is that you don't like Prof. Achebe, and by extension you don't like me for trying to prevent him from being shamed on Nairaland. This is unfortunate. You can't compare my action to June 12 because the election IBB annulled was a constructive election; the goal was not to shame any tribe or individual but to honour the winner with the presidential position. The hall of shame election is the exact opposite of that, and that's why many people are glad that it's been phased out. Nairaland should not be in the business of shaming great men over minor mistakes and tribal prejudice. That is simply unacceptable, in my opinion.
First off, when you choose to reply to my 'rant', you get off your frigging high horse to reply to me. No one is impressed by your haughtiness here so keep your little fame to your closet.

Secondly, and before I reply to your nonsensical reasoning that voting to shame a divisive person who wrote things that could shake the very foundation of the democratic nation which you attribute its presidential election process as being constructive, is rather destructive, I would ask you this: What authority do you have to ask that the thread be closed?

You are not very bright, are you?

You say that shaming a man who is threatening the unity of this country is not constructive but you don't see anything wrong in celebrating Tunde Bakare who fought against the tyranny of goodluck jonathan by shaming him publicly on tv?

I did say that you are not very bright, didn't I?

You have no business to wheel your illegal power here. You are but a webmaster and not a moderator! Get your nose out of here and leave them to do the work WE gave them the power to do!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 2:39pm On Dec 26, 2012
plendil: hold on sec. Is just the his remarks on the Achebe issue that has warranted all the name calling? why do I get the feeling that there is something more to this?
read whatever your brain is capable of reading into it, I don't give a toss, really.

All i'm saying is he has no right to annul that election!

We are the people and we have a right to our votes!!!

He is is the creator of this site, not a democratically elected moderator like Jarus and OAM4J and for that reason, he has acted unlawfully (at least according to this forum!) We didn't elect him, so he has no say! His only say is whether to close this site or not! Only the moderators have the power to make that call because we gave them our mandates!!

Nairaland GeneralRe: Apology To Jarus And OAM4J by Desola(f): 2:18pm On Dec 26, 2012
1stCitizen: I think we are getting it wrong. Seun erred on two fronts. He should apologize to other Nairalanders who participated as well.

1. He has apologized for one.(If that is considered a heartfelt apology)

2. How dare he intervene on a thread that only sponsors the opinion and votes of people that are participating in the thread. Was the voting process flawed? Is it that the hall of shame idea is wrong/offensive or there is a sacred list of names that should not appear on the list? Are those that voted not entitled to their own opinions? Clearly Seun is beginning to "take the p.iss"

Seun, your intervention was completely based on poor judgement and it only mirrors what is clearly wrong with our society at large(Those in position of authority believe the opinion of others is inconsequential and rob us with impunity). Even if your father's name is on the list, remain neutral and let others voice their own opinions(Majority in this case).
Personally I do not understand how Achebe's name made that list but if majority voted for his name to be on the list, let it be and stop playing IBB by annulling the whole exercise. Some of us revere Achebe and will continue to do so as a matter of choice.

If you want to apologise, then apologise to those whose voted and participated in an exercise you truncated based on your own "divine opinion"
couldn't have said it any better.

What Seun did is tantamount to what Babangida did to June 12.

He has insolently disregarded the members that gave time to post their nominations and being the creator of the site, he has arrogated to himself, the power to 'do and undo' even when he has no justification for it.

His action is draconian and totalitarian and definitely not fit for a democratic society or at best, a site sustained by the members on democratic principles.

Seun in terms of intelligence probably cannot hold a torch to most of the members on this site but just as in Nigeria, the not so wise ones make the call for all.

It is a shame that our state of affairs in Nigeria is equally and strongly indicated on this forum.

Indeed, he sees his members as nothing but pawns in his palms.

afam4eva: This little achievment is a giant where you are. What have you achieved in your life apart from learning Babalawo incantations?
Oh, really, is it now? Someone has changed their tune.

The same Seun you were berating sometime ago for having not achieving much to hold a candle to your gossip seller ibo girls?

YOu are a bloody hypocrite!

You only like Seun now because he is championing your course.

Listen, desist from quoting or replying to my posts if you want nothing but oko ibanuje in the new year.

so after all the fake display by the moderators, they went ahead to show us all that contrary to their lies, Seun does indeed butter their bread and can do and undo on this site. They have now succumbed to their master's order and removed the Achebe shame thread.

So the whole hoopla was just a charade to make it seem that they were not unanimously against removing the thread? Bloody ashawos playing to the gallery.

Awon oniyeye dede.

Stvpid boy!

You may have created this site, Seun but it has grown beyond you.

As it stands now, the members make this site and if not for the dedicated input from your moderators, this site would not be a force to reckon with as it is now. You are biting the finger that fed you.

Make no mistake of it; your effort did not entirely make this site. You were at the right place at the right time and filled a vacuum at the perfect time. YOU WERE JUST PLAIN LUCKY!!!

It is up to you if you want the bloody hypocrites, bigots who want no good for you or your ethnic group to bring down your tower out of jealousy. You are pandering to their envy and that would be your downfall.

Keep at it.

Aja to ba ma sonu o ni gbo fere olode, anyway.

They are going no where!
PoliticsRe: The Shamefulness Of The Politics Section Hall Of Shame by Desola(f): 8:42pm On Dec 24, 2012
bloody arsewipe who does not wish to forge divisiveness but single handedly opened a thread to foster it.

That you were able to create a forum does not mean you have your senses intact. Seun has successfully proved that!
PoliticsRe: The Shamefulness Of The Politics Section Hall Of Shame by Desola(f): 8:36pm On Dec 24, 2012
Seun: Dear Nairalanders

A lot of people don't know this, but I'm not directly involved in the Nairaland end of year award process.
So, like many of you, I was shocked and appalled when I saw Chinua Achebe's name on the Politics section Hall of Shame contest.

I think this unacceptable development demonstrates the fact that the Politics Section Hall of Shame is not a constructive idea.
I hereby call on the Politics section moderators, Jarus and OAM4j, to end the divisive Hall of Shame contest and delete all related threads.

Thank you.
Bloody hypocrite!

Who do you think you are? The alpha and omega?

You better get off your effing high horse before someone shoots your horse!

Soiling your moderators while wearing the white garment to make you look like a saint.

We all know what is under that white garment and it is THE BLACKEST SKIN WITH THE BLACKEST SOUL EVER!
PoliticsRe: The Shamefulness Of The Politics Section Hall Of Shame by Desola(f): 8:29pm On Dec 24, 2012
Dudu_Negro: ....first, i voted achebe and did not idenpendently know he was nominated for shame until i read a thread by one ofbyou advertising the fact. that thread directed traffic to the voting booth and acted to do more damage than would have been the case otherwise.

.....second, if every leader is a subject of insult and assault, then why is achebe different? he is fair game, right? stop the whine and take the beating, accirding to you the leaders of every other ethnic group are harrased and abused but you will agree the respective groups do not whine and bombard mods with complaints....they suck it up. suck this shyyt uo and stip sheddig tears.
You got that right.

I actually wasn't aware of the said thread until I read the one opened just to whine about it. It was that subsequent whining thread that lead me to the voting thread in which I rightly voted the bigoted divisive cripple in made damn sure to put his name in bold.

For what Seun has done today, he would never recover from it and all respect that I previously had for him has now gone down the drain. He is a very huge disappointment and for choosing to end the year in this manner, I couldn't me filled with more displeasure against him.

As for Jarus and OAM4j, I understand their stance and their reasoning behind it but no one can be like them. They have sacrificed a lot of their time and even though we don't see eye to eye all the time, they have been exceptional in their assumed responsibilities given the manner of posters we have in this section of the forum. I would implore them to reconsider and not leave the den to pig to defile.
