Senator Ned Nwoko Driving the Anioma State Movement with Resolve and Vision Point-Blank Magazine Saturday, November 15, 2025 By Oghenenyerovwo Stanley The Chairman of Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN), Olorogun Godwin Obire PhD, has urged all Anioma sons and daughters to support Senator Ned Nwoko, describing him as a leader who never fails his people. Speaking with journalists in Lagos, Obire said that in a world where many accept defeat easily, Senator Nwoko stands out as a man who refuses to believe in failure. He noted that Nwoko’s life reflects vision, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in what is possible, even when the odds are high. As an international lawyer, philanthropist, and federal lawmaker, Nwoko has broken barriers, especially through his strong push for the creation of Anioma State. Obire added that Senator Nwoko does not recognize failure in any form. He explained that this mindset is more than a personal belief it is the driving force behind the growing movement for Anioma State. While many once considered the idea distant or unrealistic, Nwoko saw a clear path forward and chose to lead the charge instead of waiting for others to act. According to Obire, Anioma State proposed for the Igbo-speaking people of Delta North has been discussed for many years, mostly as a dream shared by cultural and community leaders. Today, however, he said the idea is becoming more realistic, thanks to Senator Nwoko’s consistent advocacy and determination to see it succeed. He further said that Senator Nwoko’s approach is both strategic and inclusive. Nwoko has brought together political leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and community organizations across Delta North and beyond. He has also presented the Anioma case before the National Assembly with clarity and strong evidence. Obire emphasized that Nwoko sees the creation of Anioma State not only as a political demand but also as a moral responsibility, giving deserved recognition to a people with a distinct identity and strong national contributions. Obire stressed that Senator Nwoko’s efforts are not driven by personal ambition, power, or prestige. Instead, they are inspired by the need to correct historical imbalances and provide the Anioma people with fair representation. He described Anioma State as a symbol of unity and progress, both for Delta North and for Nigeria at large. He noted that what makes Senator Nwoko exceptional is his refusal to see setbacks as final. Nwoko understands that meaningful change takes time and that resistance is part of the process, yet he remains courageous. He moves forward not because the path is easy, but because he believes it is necessary for his people. Obire explained that Senator Nwoko remains confident because he believes in the strength and resilience of the Anioma people. He believes in their culture, their achievements, and their important place in Nigeria’s development. According to him, Nwoko’s persistence seen across his legal career, philanthropic work, and political service shows what determination can achieve. He concluded by saying that the dream of Anioma State is gaining strong momentum. More Nigerians are learning about the cause, more lawmakers are paying attention, and more citizens are showing support. What once seemed unlikely is now within reach. Senator Nwoko’s leadership, Obire said, is inspiring and transformative. He is actively shaping the future, and his name is becoming synonymous with purposeful leadership and courageous advocacy. The Anioma people are watching with pride, Nigerians are taking notice, and a new chapter in state creation is unfolding with firm resolve and steady leadership.

Clearing the Air The Truth Behind the Regina Daniels Controversy By Veronica Oshomuvwe Point-blank Magazine Thursday, November 13, 2025 Olorogun Godwin Obire, Chairman of the Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN), has revealed what he describes as a calculated conspiracy involving actress Regina Daniels, her mother Rita Daniels, and activist Omoyele Sowore. Speaking with journalists at the National Assembly in Abuja, Obire explained that the trio are being used by desperate politicians to damage the reputation of Senator Ned Nwoko. He pointed out inconsistencies in the passport Sowore posted online, which showed two different birth dates for Regina Daniels, suggesting forgery and manipulation meant to mislead the public and defame Senator Nwoko. According to Obire, Sowore’s allegations against Senator Nwoko are baseless and illogical. He emphasized that even if Regina Daniels was born in 2001, as Sowore and Regina claim, she was already 18 years old when she married Ned in 2019 making the marriage legal under Nigerian law. Obire accused Sowore of twisting facts to create false impressions, reminding the public that the Child’s Rights Act defines a child as a person under 18 years of age. Therefore, the fabricated story of an “underage marriage” has no legal or moral basis. Obire further stated that a large majority of Nigerians commenting on social media have rejected Sowore’s propaganda. Most people, he said, have asked Sowore if Regina was ever forced into marriage or if her family disapproved. The truth remains that Rita Daniels publicly confirmed in 2019 that her daughter was of age and that the marriage was done with full family consent. Obire argued that Sowore’s involvement in the matter is suspicious, suggesting that his motive may be political or even personal since he appears obsessed with Senator Nwoko’s private family life. Olorogun Obire added that marriage is a personal matter between two consenting adults and their families. He stressed that the public should respect the privacy of couples like Senator Nwoko and Regina Daniels, who have chosen to live peacefully together. He noted that accusations and online harassment only serve to destroy homes and distract from important national issues. According to him, it is immoral for activists like Sowore to intrude into a family’s private life under the pretense of defending human rights. Continuing, Obire clarified that Regina Daniels’ age at the time of marriage was 19, and there are public videos of her admitting she married Ned out of love. He challenged Sowore to interpret Section 29(4)(b) of the Nigerian Constitution correctly, which allows individuals who have reached adulthood and have parental consent to marry. Regina’s mother gave full approval for the union and even declared her daughter’s age as 20. Therefore, any claim of illegality or coercion is false. Obire argued that Sowore’s ignorance of Nigerian law exposes his poor understanding of cultural and legal norms. Obire also criticized Sowore for applying foreign standards to Nigerian society. He said Sowore seems to believe that what applies in America or Europe must apply in Nigeria. Marriage laws differ by country and region, and in Nigeria, 18 is the legal age for marriage, though some states allow marriage with parental consent. He stressed that Regina was not underage by Nigerian standards and that her marriage was conducted openly, lawfully, and with joy. Obire reminded critics that many northern leaders have married young women legally, yet no one questions their motives the way Sowore has done with Ned Nwoko. Finally, Olorogun Obire revealed that Regina’s voter’s card and passport contain conflicting dates of birth, proving that any wrongdoing lies with those who falsified her records not with Senator Nwoko. He recalled that Rita Daniels publicly defended her daughter’s maturity at the time of marriage and never denied giving her blessing. If there is any crime, Obire said, it should be attributed to whoever manipulated Regina’s documents. He advised Sowore to settle his personal grievances with Senator Nwoko privately rather than using activism to destroy a peaceful home. “If you admire Regina that much,” Obire concluded, “why not marry her and let peace reign?”

CNBN Criticizes Omoyele Sowore’s Allegations Against Senator Ned Nwoko Point-Blank Magazine By Babagida Muhammad Wednesday, November 12, 2025 The Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN) has issued a robust condemnation of activist Omoyele Sowore, labeling his campaign against Senator Prince Ned Nwoko as “reckless, manipulative, and misleading.” Dr. Olorogun Godwin Obire, chairman and convener of CNBN, expressed these sentiments during a news conference, criticizing Sowore for demonstrating a profound misunderstanding of United Kingdom marital laws and for attempting to criminalize a legitimate marriage. Dr. Obire pointed out that documents such as Regina Daniels' voter card, BVN, international passport, and others clearly indicate that she was over 18 years of age when she married Senator Nwoko in 2019. He referenced a viral video from 2019, in which Regina's mother, Rita Daniels, confirmed that her daughter was of age and entering into the marriage out of love. “Sowore’s attack, claiming Regina was a minor, is a gross misrepresentation of the facts,” he added. Dr. Obire explained that up until 2023, UK law permitted individuals aged 16 or 17 to marry with parental consent, and emphasized that Nwoko’s marriage did not violate the law either in Nigeria or the UK. Further, he noted that the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Minimum Age) Act 2022, which raised the minimum marriage age to 18, came into effect on February 27, 2023. Before this, the marriages of 16- and 17-year-olds with parental consent were legally valid. Thus, Dr. Obire argued that Sowore’s insistence on portraying the marriage as illegal was an attempt to mislead the public and undermine the reputation of an innocent public servant. He also drew parallels with other celebrity marriages, suggesting that critics often display double standards. He noted how public reaction to Tuface Idibia’s personal choices stands in stark contrast to the scrutiny of Senator Nwoko’s marriage, characterizing Sowore as a hypocrite who has allowed his activism to become a platform for gossip and political opportunism. “Marriage is a personal matter, not a political one,” he stated. “Senator Nwoko has not committed any crime, and authentic activism should focus on governance, justice, and accountability rather than personal affairs.” Dr. Obire urged Sowore to refocus his influence on constructive issues rather than fomenting familial discord. He encouraged him to utilize his platform to educate the youth about the pressing concerns of drug abuse and moral decay, rather than supporting actions that disrespect families. He emphasized that Regina Daniels was of age and fully aware of her marital choices and that the marriage was consensual with her mother’s approval. “Challenges in their relationship do not equate to wrongdoing on Nwoko’s part,” he affirmed. “Ned Nwoko's support has been instrumental in Regina’s success. They deserve their privacy and peace.” Continuing his critique, Dr. Obire accused Sowore of weaponizing personal family matters for social media clout. He lamented that Sowore’s brand of activism has become selective, targeting prominent individuals with unverified claims merely for popularity. “Sowore’s activism has devolved into sensationalism,” he declared. “You cannot demand investigations based on unsubstantiated claims while labeling someone a ‘criminal billionaire’ without evidence. This approach undermines the integrity of activism and violates due process.” Obire cautioned that Sowore’s groundless accusations could distract public attention from substantive issues and erode trust in genuine activism. He stated that turning family disputes into political spectacles harms both the public interest and the individuals involved. “Sowore’s incendiary remarks transform personal reconciliations into media spectacles. The public must be vigilant against such tactics,” he concluded. Dr. Obire called for respect for Senator Nwoko’s family privacy, urging a peaceful resolution to their issues. He reminded Sowore that Ned Nwoko is the father of Regina's children and deserves respect. “If we genuinely care about this family, we should be advocating for peace instead of fostering division,” he remarked. “Sowore’s statements are rooted in bitterness, lacking any basis in truth. If he wishes to demonstrate his activism, he should approach Nwoko directly rather than using social media to propagate falsehoods.” Dr. Obire concluded with a forceful assertion: “Regina Daniels was not a minor at the time of her marriage. This union was lawful, legitimate, and fully supported by her family. Senator Ned Nwoko has broken no laws in either Nigeria or the UK. Sowore’s allegations are unfounded and should be regarded as a desperate attempt to seek relevance. The truth always prevails above malicious propaganda.”

Regina Daniels and Her Family Are Absolutely Wrong in Their Actions Ned Nwoko Must Defend His Reputation at All Costs Point-blank Newspaper Tuesday, November 11, 2025 By Abiodun Timothy Olarewaju The Chairman of Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN), Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, has openly condemned the continued social media outbursts by Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her family against her husband, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko. Obire, who had earlier appealed to the couple to settle their marital differences privately, has now described Regina and her family’s recent conduct as “reckless, manipulative, and deliberately orchestrated to tarnish Senator Nwoko’s public image for political purposes.” He advised the senator to protect his good name at all costs, stressing that “reputation is not something a man gambles with in public debates.” According to Dr. Obire, speaking with journalists in Asaba, “You don’t accuse a man of domestic violence when there is no evidence. You don’t invade his home, damage property, and expect forgiveness simply because he’s your sister’s husband. Actions have consequences. When people start confusing freedom of speech with freedom to defame, they destroy both family and public trust.” He emphasized that false allegations against a public servant during a pre-election season could only be interpreted as a calculated attempt to ruin his credibility ahead of 2027. Dr. Obire further stated that what Senator Nwoko is doing defending his image and setting clear boundaries is exactly what a man of integrity should do. “Silence doesn’t always mean guilt; sometimes it’s restraint. But when lies begin to spread like wildfire, the right thing to do is to stand firm and cut them off. Ned Nwoko is right to speak up,” he said. “Accountability goes both ways, and those peddling falsehoods must also be held responsible for the damage they cause.” Addressing claims made by Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, Dr. Obire described her remarks as “an insult to the Anioma people.” He recalled that Senator Nwoko served honorably as a member of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003, contributing significantly to Nigeria’s recovery of the Paris Club refund. “It is absurd and disrespectful,” he said, “for anyone to suggest that Regina’s fame or money made Ned Nwoko a senator. The voters of Delta North elected him not Nollywood fans. Regina Daniels’ popularity is irrelevant in a region that values performance, not theatrics.” Obire also accused the Daniels family of greed and hypocrisy, alleging that Rita Daniels orchestrated her daughter’s marriage for financial gain. “She pushed her daughter into this union purely for money, ignoring even her ex-husband’s warnings. Now she plays the victim while feeding off Ned’s generosity,” he said. According to him, Rita Daniels has consistently acted out of selfish interest, exposing her family’s lack of morals and parental discipline. He noted that the family’s behavior has already led to multiple controversies, including the arrest of Regina’s brother, Sammy West, over drug related and financial crimes. Continuing, Obire stated that Senator Nwoko had done far more for Regina Daniels and her family than any man could reasonably be expected to do. “He funded their education, gave them business opportunities, and provided them with luxury and comfort. Yet, instead of gratitude, they repay him with betrayal and public humiliation. From Regina’s recent video posts, it is obvious that she is struggling with substance abuse her expressions and behavior show clear signs of instability,” Obire observed, adding that her violent outbursts against staff were symptomatic of deeper personal issues, not marital oppression. The CNBN Chairman further emphasized that Senator Nwoko’s other wives maintain peaceful homes and mutual respect, proving that the problem lies not with Ned but with Regina and her family’s toxic interference. “When every other wife is living peacefully, yet one household constantly breeds drama, it becomes clear where the problem lies. Regina’s mother and siblings have been the source of negativity, poisoning her mind and ridiculing her husband on social media for cheap attention,” Obire said. “That is not freedom of expression it is pure malice.” Commenting on the viral video depicting a confrontation between Regina’s family and Senator Nwoko’s security team, Obire described it as “a Nollywood-style setup.” He alleged that the scene was staged in Ned Nwoko’s absence to deceive the public and create a false narrative of domestic abuse. He went on to reveal that Regina’s brother and his associates form a “syndicate” supplying her with hard drugs and manipulating her to rebel against her husband. “It is a shame that private marital issues are being weaponized online. Such behavior is not only immoral but politically motivated to weaken Ned’s standing before the 2027 elections,” he added. Dr. Obire concluded by describing Regina Daniels’ conduct as a reflection of the dangers of ingratitude. “Ned Nwoko has shown tolerance and love beyond measure, yet Regina and her family repay him with scandal. She claimed she married at 17, yet her own voter’s card proves otherwise so who is lying? This level of deceit is disgraceful,” he said. “Senator Prince Ned Nwoko must protect his reputation from these malicious attempts to bring him down. The Daniels family has crossed the line, and the public must not be fooled by their performance. Reputation is built over a lifetime, and no ungrateful family should be allowed to destroy it overnight.”

Obire Urges Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels to Reconcile in Private Punch Newspaper Sunday, November 9, 2025 By Oghenetega Emmanuel Community leader and social advocate, Olorogun Godwin Obire, has called on Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and his wife, Regina Daniels, to embrace peace and resolve their reported marital differences privately. Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja, Obire described the couple as gentle, responsible, and respectable individuals, urging them to handle their challenges with maturity, patience, and discretion rather than through public discussions or social media exchanges. Obire expressed concern over the increasing trend of individuals taking private family matters to social media. According to him, “Today, many people have replaced wisdom with public opinion, forgetting that the internet is not a therapist.” He noted that while social media offers entertainment and opinions, it cannot provide real healing or reconciliation. He stressed that true peace in marriage comes through honest conversation, forgiveness, and mutual respect, not through public statements or online judgment. Addressing the couple directly, Obire appealed to Senator Nwoko and Regina Daniels to act as role models of unity and understanding. He said, “Dear Regina Daniels and distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko, as respected figures, it’s important to handle every challenge within the quiet walls of understanding and mutual respect.” The activist noted that public figures influence many young couples, adding that when partners choose calm dialogue over public confrontation, they preserve their dignity and strengthen their bond. He emphasized that genuine love thrives in peace, not publicity. As chairman of the Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN), Obire maintained that no marriage is without its share of difficulties. He explained that misunderstandings are normal in every relationship, but how couples manage them determines the strength and future of their union. “No marriage is without its storms,” he said, “but the ability to protect your home from public intrusion defines maturity and true love.” He advised that couples who resolve their differences privately demonstrate discipline, emotional intelligence, and lasting commitment to one another. Obire further advised that silence and patience often bring better results than anger or public outbursts. He stated, “The internet will offer countless voices, but only the two of you can rebuild the peace you desire. When disagreement arises, talk to each other, not the internet. When pain comes, pray together, not post apart.” He cautioned that online platforms often magnify problems and attract opinions that worsen situations. While the public may move on to another story tomorrow, he said, the emotional and reputational damage from public exposure may linger. He therefore urged the couple to seek peace quietly and allow time and love to restore their relationship. In his closing remarks, Obire gave a heartfelt message centered on love, humility, and forgiveness. “When love is real,” he said, “every disagreement becomes an opportunity for deeper understanding, not division. Guard your marriage with wisdom. Protect your peace with humility. Let love win over pride.” He explained that peace and humility are the true pillars of a lasting relationship, warning that pride can destroy even the strongest bonds. Choosing peace, he added, is not a sign of weakness but a reflection of strength and maturity. Obire further stated that when couples protect their love through patience and understanding, they build homes that inspire others to believe in lasting commitment. He said, “Peace is more powerful than pride. Protect your home. Protect your name. Protect your love.” The activist concluded by advising all couples, not just the Nwokos, to learn from the situation, reminding them that genuine love is proven in private endurance, not in public display, and that a peaceful home remains more valuable than public attention or applause.

A Perspective on the Regina Daniels and Senator Ned Nwoko Conflict: Upholding Integrity Against Public Scrutiny By Maria Udofia As an observer of the unfolding dynamics between Senator Ned Nwoko and his wife, Regina Daniels, I have found it challenging to remain impartial. This situation goes beyond mere celebrity gossip; it raises serious questions about personal integrity, family dynamics, and public perception. I understand the complexities of their relationship and the implications it has for Senator Ned's reputation, which have prompted me to express my views on this sensitive matter. The recent public discourse surrounding Regina Daniels and her family, particularly her mother Rita Daniels and her brother Sammy West, has been marred by harmful accusations and undue scrutiny. Rita Daniels has been accused of making disparaging remarks that undermine the character of her son-in-law, Senator Ned Nwoko. Such statements not only tarnish the image of an accomplished politician but also have broader implications for his political future. Publicly airing family grievances gives an impression of disloyalty and exacerbates the challenges faced by those in public office. Senator Nwoko is commonly known to lead a life that contradicts the negative portrayals circulated by detractors. He is neither a smoker nor an alcoholic, and many who know him can attest to his vegetarian lifestyle and humble demeanor. As a politician and lawyer with a storied career, he has consistently exhibited integrity and a commitment to societal betterment. His contributions to legislative processes in Nigeria are noteworthy, showcasing a character worthy of emulation. Moreover, one must consider the dramatic claims made against him by individuals like Sammy West, Regina's brother. To publicly criticize Senator Nwoko while being dependent on his support is not only hypocritical, but it also raises questions about the motivations behind such remarks. It appears that political adversaries might be leveraging family disputes to tarnish the Senator’s reputation, a strategy that seeks to sabotage his political aspirations unjustly. Regina Daniels, on the other hand, faces scrutiny that extends beyond her marriage. While the world of celebrity often bears the weight of high expectations, it is vital for public figures, especially those who occupy delicate relational spaces like marriage to prominent politicians, to conduct themselves with decorum. The instances of her smoking and other behaviors portrayed on social media lead many to question the appropriateness of such actions, particularly when one is linked to a family that holds a public position. The accountability of parents in instilling values in their children cannot be overstated. Rita Daniels’ public statements and actions reflect not just individual opinions but also the potential ramifications on the character and reputation of her children. As an influential figure in Regina's life, one must consider the impact of her mother’s views and actions on Regina’s public persona. While the ongoing conflict between Regina Daniels and Senator Ned Nwoko captures public interest, it is essential to view these events through a lens of understanding and respect. Public figures are often subjected to unfair criticism and must navigate the complexities of familial loyalty against public perception. The negative narrative surrounding Senator Ned does not represent the entirety of his character, which deserves recognition as a dedicated public servant and a role model. As observers, it is our responsibility to scrutinize the motives behind public disclosures and to support individuals like Senator Nwoko, who exhibit integrity in their personal and professional lives.

Omo-Agege Fingered as Sponsor of Sowore’s Social Media Attacks on Governor Oborevwori — Civil Group Alleges A civil society organisation, Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN), has condemned recent social media attacks launched by activist Omoyele Sowore against the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, over the enforcement of a revised dress code policy for civil servants. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, the group’s convener, Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, alleged that Sowore’s criticisms were neither objective nor rooted in genuine concern for Deltans, but rather part of a calculated smear campaign allegedly bankrolled by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, whom he described as a desperate politician still nursing the wounds of his failed bid to govern Delta State. Dr. Obire, a native of Agbarho Orohokpokpo in Ughelli North Local Government Area, accused the former Deputy Senate President of using Sowore and others as proxies in a coordinated online campaign aimed at discrediting the Oborevwori administration. According to him, the scheme is the latest in a series of underhanded tactics designed to destabilise a government freely and fairly elected by the people. “The people of Delta State decisively rejected Senator Omo-Agege in the 2023 governorship election, yet he continues to sponsor misinformation and incite public sentiment through hired voices like Sowore,” Obire stated. He described the attacks as malicious distractions intended to derail the developmental strides being recorded under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership. “This is nothing but the last kicks of a failed political horse,” Obire declared. “These antics only insult the intelligence of Deltans and demean the peaceful and progressive reputation of Ughelli North. It is time for Omo-Agege and his surrogates to respect the will of the people and stop waging unnecessary wars against governance.” Challenging Sowore to redirect his energy to his home state of Ondo, Dr. Obire referenced a viral video showing rain leaking into a courtroom during a sitting, describing it as a national disgrace and a more fitting target for genuine activism. “Sowore’s selective outrage is telling. His silence on the decay in Ondo but sudden uproar over Delta proves he is not speaking from conviction but from sponsorship. Activism must not be for sale,” he said. The group further urged reputable international organisations such as the Ford Foundation and MacArthur Foundation, both of which have previously engaged with Sowore, to reconsider their associations with him. Dr. Obire argued that partnering with individuals whose conduct is increasingly tied to propaganda and character assassination could undermine the credibility of such institutions. “Reputation is built over time but can be tainted by affiliation with individuals who no longer uphold objectivity or decency,” he warned. On the dress code policy, Dr. Obire applauded Governor Oborevwori’s directive as a timely step to restore discipline and professionalism in the civil service. “Civil servants are not just employees, they are the face of government. Their appearance must reflect decency, integrity, and moral values. This policy is corrective, not oppressive, and it deserves to be emulated nationwide,” he stated. He noted that Delta is not the first state to implement such measures, citing similar regulations introduced under former Governor Fashola in Lagos, Governor Ikpeazu in Abia, Governor Bago in Niger, and Governor Obaseki in Edo, none of which attracted the kind of orchestrated outrage currently directed at Delta. “Where was Sowore’s voice then? Why now? Why Delta? The answer is obvious: this is a politically motivated attack with no moral foundation,” he argued. Concluding, Dr. Obire reaffirmed CNBN’s full support for Governor Oborevwori’s values-driven reforms, particularly the dress code policy, which prohibits bushy beards, coloured or artificial hair, long eyelashes, fake nails, and flamboyant traditional caps among civil servants. “This is not just about appearance, it is about restoring dignity and ethical responsibility in our public institutions. The Governor should be applauded for leading with values, not mocked through sponsored theatrics,” he said.

Omo-Agege Chasing Senate Seat, Not Governorship — Oborevwori's Aide Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters and Chairman of the Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN), Olorogun Godwin Obire PhD, has dismissed speculations that former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, is plotting another governorship contest in Delta State. Speaking with journalists in Asaba on Tuesday, Obire said all indications point to Omo-Agege’s interest in reclaiming the Delta Central Senate seat currently occupied by Senator Ede Dafinone, rather than contesting the 2027 governorship election. “Let’s be clear, Omo-Agege will not run for governor. His target is Ede Dafinone’s Senate seat, but he wants it delivered to him on a platter of gold. "He knows he cannot challenge Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori in the governorship race because the political calculations and indices are totally against him,” Obire stated. According to him, Omo-Agege’s recent political maneuvers, including solidarity marches and media campaigns, were simply “negotiating tactics” to make his return to the Senate easier. He argued that Omo-Agege’s decision to abandon his Senate seat in pursuit of the governorship in 2023 was a costly mistake. “Had he held onto that seat, he could have easily risen to Senate President today. But blinded by over-ambition, he forced his way into the governorship race, where he was soundly defeated, managing to win only four out of 25 local governments,” Obire said. On the performance of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor’s aide stressed that the administration’s achievements were evident, noting that the governor had never discouraged anyone from contesting against him. “As a true democrat, Governor Oborevwori believes in open competition and fair party primaries. Most importantly, his record in office speaks for itself. "He has performed excellently well, and I strongly believe the people are wise enough not to abandon proven leadership for empty promises,” he added.

Happy Birthday to my brother, friend, and former boss His Excellency, Olorogun Barrister Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the Obarisi of Urhobo land. I had the privilege of serving as a strategic political aide to him during his time as the Deputy President of the 9th Senate. Senator Omo-Agege is a determined leader and a man of action, respected among his peers. Together, we worked to achieve significant milestones, including securing the Federal Polytechnic Orogun, establishing a campus of the Nigerian Law School, and bringing the Nigerian Defence Space College to our state among many other accomplishments. Politics is a game of interest, and we all pursue different paths for the benefit of our people. Personally, I always hoped he would return to the Senate, as he was one of the finest lawmakers this country has produced. His use of legislative influence to bring tangible development was remarkable. Nonetheless, everyone has the right to make their own choices that is the beauty of democracy. Heavenly Father, on this special day, I pray for my former boss. May You guide his steps, grant him wisdom in all his decisions, and continue to bless him with good health, happiness, success, and long life. Thank You for the positive impact he has had on my political journey. Happy birthday once again, Sir. Political Landscape Shifts as APC Leader Criticizes Opposition Alliance By Olufemi Olarewaju, Vanguard Newspaper ABUJA – Dr. Godwin Obire, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has strongly criticized the new alliance formed by several opposition groups. He called it a gathering of politically irrelevant people pretending to be reformers. Speaking to reporters in Abuja, Obire said these defectors had already left the APC long before this alliance was announced. “Let Nigerians not be fooled by the opposition's clever words. These people are not a loss to the APC. They are failed politicians who have been forgotten,” Obire said. He mentioned that some well-known former APC members had already distanced themselves from the party. He referred to former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, saying Amaechi left the party emotionally after he lost the 2022 presidential primaries. “He gave up politically after that loss,” Obire said. He also criticized Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General, saying Malami became disconnected from the APC after he failed to win the Kebbi State governorship ticket. “Since President Tinubu took over, Malami has shown no loyalty to the party,” he added. Obire spoke about Hadi Sirika, who is now part of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He said Sirika is facing serious legal issues, including contract fraud, and that his reputation is badly damaged. About Rauf Aregbesola, former governor of Osun State, Obire said Aregbesola worked against the APC during the last governorship election. “His removal from the party was necessary and long overdue,” Obire said. Obire also mentioned Kashim Imam and former APC chairman Chief John Odigie Oyegun as members of what he called a group of angry politicians. Imam left the APC after not being chosen as vice-presidential candidate, while Oyegun, now in his 80s, was described as out of touch with the party’s direction. Obire called them “bitter old politicians holding onto the past.” He warned Nigerians not to be misled by what he called a rushed and confused political alliance. “This is not a real alternative. It is a group of people angry at President Tinubu, with no plan, no future, and no real ideas. They only bring confusion and setbacks.” “These people are not trying to help the country,” he said. “They are just desperate to stay relevant. They want power, not to help Nigerians, but to feed their personal goals and avoid being forgotten.” Dr. Obire ended by saying the alliance will not last. “The group will fall apart because of their big egos and clashing interests. Sooner or later, they will start fighting each other.” He said the alliance is made up of politicians who are no longer important. “They have no vision and are full of anger. They are not a threat to the APC or to Nigeria’s future just a reminder of the kind of politics the country should avoid.”

Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, describing his two years in office as remarkably impactful and deeply transformative across all sectors of governance. Dr. Obire made these remarks during a courtesy visit to the Governor, followed by an extensive project inspection tour across Delta North, Delta Central, and Delta South senatorial districts. During the tour, he personally assessed major infrastructural works including rehabilitated roads, Smart Schools, and newly built Community Health Centres, praising the administration’s dedication to equitable development and people-centered policies. Speaking with newsmen after the tour, Obire expressed sincere admiration for the Governor’s zeal to uplift ordinary citizens through tangible projects that touch lives. “I was encouraged by my group, Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN), and also by the Chief Strategist to the Governor, Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor, to tour the state and witness firsthand what has been done. I visited several locations including Asaba, Ughelli, Agbor, Udu, Warri, and many more communities. What I saw exceeded expectations. The Governor is improving the quality of life for the average Deltan, and that is what leadership should be about,” he said. In the health sector, Dr. Obire lauded Governor Oborevwori’s initiative to upgrade community healthcare delivery, citing visits to modern maternity and health centres as evidence of the administration’s responsiveness to grassroots needs. He emphasized that the quality of healthcare infrastructure has improved and praised the government’s focus on rural health access. The CNBN leader also commended Governor Oborevwori for his bold innovations in education, particularly the introduction of Smart Schools designed to create a more engaging and technologically driven learning environment. “The most inspiring development I encountered was in the education sector. I was deeply moved by the Smart School concept. It’s not just about erecting buildings; it’s about building minds. Delta State is setting a new benchmark that should be replicated across Nigeria,” Obire said, promising to promote the initiative to other state governments. Apart from physical infrastructure, Obire acknowledged the administration’s prudent financial management, youth empowerment programs, and emphasis on peace and security. He referenced the MORE agenda Governor Oborevwori’s development blueprint which stands for Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security as a solid framework already yielding visible results. Reflecting on the governor’s leadership style, Obire noted that Governor Oborevwori has redefined participatory governance. “The Governor has returned leadership to the people. His openness, inclusivity, and readiness to engage stakeholders across board show that he listens. That kind of governance is rare and commendable,” he remarked. While declining to specify areas the administration should focus on next, Obire stressed the need to sustain the current developmental momentum. “As a proud son of Ughelli North, from Agbarho Orohokpokpor, I understand the dynamics of our local needs. But beyond specifics, I can see that the foundation laid so far is one that promises a better future. My only advice is that the Governor remains resilient and committed to finishing strong.” Dr. Obire concluded with a strong appeal to the people of Delta State to continue to support Governor Oborevwori and his administration. “There is a great man at the helm in Delta State a humble, focused, and selfless leader. Sheriff Oborevwori has shown character, vision, and a deep sense of duty. Now more than ever, he needs the collective support of all Deltans. I urge every citizen to rally behind this administration so we can continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy. The work he’s doing is not for himself it is for all of us,” Obire said. With initiatives such as the completion of the Stephen Keshi Stadium upgrades, promotion of local content in governance, expansion of youth and women empowerment schemes, and targeted rural electrification projects, Oborevwori continues to build on the legacies of his predecessors while carving a distinct legacy of his own. Deltans, the time is now support good governance, support continuity, support progress. Support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Obire Urges Community Leaders to Support Fight Against Insecurity, Commends Delta Governor’s Efforts Vanguard News By Bola Odemitie | Thursday, June 5, 2025 The Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN) has called on community leaders across Delta State to actively support government efforts in tackling the persistent security challenges affecting the state. The convener of the group, Dr. Godwin Obire, made this call during a security stakeholders meeting held in Asaba and convened by the Delta State Government. Speaking at the Unity Hall in the Old Government House, Dr. Obire emphasized that security is not solely the responsibility of government and security agencies, but a collective duty that requires the involvement of every stakeholder especially traditional rulers and community leaders. He stressed that peace and stability can only be sustained when local leaders prioritize vigilance and community-level security. According to Obire, the meeting, which brought together top government officials, security chiefs, traditional leaders, local government chairmen, and university representatives, was initiated by the Governor to address growing concerns over rising cases of kidnapping and other criminal activities, particularly in Abraka and its environs. He described the gathering as timely and strategic, allowing key actors to jointly explore practical solutions to the worsening security situation. Dr. Obire urged traditional rulers and community leaders to be more deliberate in monitoring their communities. He encouraged them to scrutinize unfamiliar faces, track unusual movements, and promptly report suspicious activities to relevant authorities. These grassroots-level actions, he said, are vital in flushing out criminal elements and restoring safety in the affected areas. Commending Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his leadership, Obire praised the governor’s proactive stance on security and reaffirmed the CNBN’s readiness to partner with the government in advancing security reforms. “This meeting is truly unprecedented,” Obire stated. “The governor has demonstrated a rare level of commitment and leadership. We now have a united front to tackle insecurity, and by God's grace, we will rid our communities of criminal elements.” The high-level security dialogue witnessed the participation of the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, heads of security agencies, traditional rulers from various communities, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.

A Heartfelt Appeal to President Tinubu: Grant a Presidential Pardon to Chief James Onanefe Ibori By Abiodun Bolinger The Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN), through its National Coordinator, Dr. Godwin Obire, is making a solemn and passionate plea to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to grant a presidential pardon to Chief James Onanefe Ibori an illustrious son of the Urhobo nation and a towering figure in Nigeria’s political history. At a recent press briefing in Asaba, Dr. Obire described Ibori as not just a man, but a mission one who has uplifted countless lives and championed the cause of unity, peace, and development in our great nation. Dr. Obire underscored Ibori’s unique contributions during his tenure as Governor of Delta State, highlighting how he confronted the volatile issues of pipeline vandalism and ethnic violence with remarkable foresight. Ibori’s leadership ushered in an era of relative calm in the Niger Delta through dialogue, reconciliation, and inclusion. His hands-on approach to resolving tensions among warring factions showed not only courage but an unwavering commitment to one Nigeria. In those turbulent years, Ibori’s diplomacy kept the nation from the brink. The CNBN emphasizes that Ibori has walked through the fire of legal accountability and emerged with humility. He served his sentence with dignity and has since maintained a quiet, reflective posture. His silence speaks not of defeat, but of wisdom, maturity, and a deep understanding of responsibility. Ibori has chosen the path of peace, refraining from the political spotlight to focus instead on rebuilding trust and offering quiet mentorship to the next generation. During his years as governor, Chief Ibori was the architect of transformation in Delta State. His administration spearheaded projects in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and rural development. He built bridges both literal and metaphorical that continue to connect communities. The legacy of his developmental strides still echoes in the hearts of those who remember his tenure as a time of visible progress and economic upliftment. Dr. Obire further praised Ibori’s commitment to grassroots empowerment, especially in oil-producing areas. Through the establishment of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Ibori redirected resources to neglected communities. This act not only provided jobs and infrastructure but also served as a deterrent to unrest and pipeline sabotage by restoring hope to the people. His policies transformed resentment into productivity. On security, Ibori understood that peace was the key to prosperity. He collaborated closely with law enforcement and the military to protect vital oil infrastructure and curb militancy. Specialized units were created to patrol sensitive areas, drastically reducing violence. By standing as a bulwark between chaos and order, Ibori preserved not only Delta State’s future but Nigeria’s economic stability. In terms of economic empowerment, his vision extended far beyond oil. Ibori championed agriculture, small enterprises, and youth development programs. He gave young people purpose, skills, and the opportunity to dream beyond the creeks. By offering alternatives to crime, he saved lives, families, and futures. His administration believed in people and invested in their potential. Chief Ibori was also a key figure in political negotiations with militant groups in the Niger Delta, advocating tirelessly for peaceful resolutions. His engagement with groups like MEND paved the way for national dialogue and disarmament efforts. Ibori risked his life navigating the creeks and strongholds of militancy to bring peace his mission always rooted in a love for Nigeria that outweighed personal risk. Inclusiveness was a cornerstone of his governance. Ibori ensured that every ethnic group in Delta had a voice in government. By building a culture of representation, he diffused long-standing tensions and gave every community a sense of belonging. His administration modeled what a united Nigeria could look like diverse yet harmonious. Ibori also stood at the forefront of the advocacy for the 13% oil derivation formula, securing vital revenue for oil-producing states. His efforts helped correct years of neglect, allowing states like Delta to address environmental damage and invest in development. This achievement alone stands as a testament to his foresight and tenacity in championing equity for his people. Today, there is a growing public call for healing an appeal for reconciliation and forgiveness. Granting Chief James Ibori a presidential pardon would not just restore one man’s dignity, it would reflect a national willingness to heal old wounds. Mr. President, this act of mercy would be a beacon of your administration’s values: unity, inclusion, and transformation through forgiveness. Your Excellency, the pardon of Ibori would not be a political gesture it would be a moral one. A declaration that Nigeria believes in second chances. A statement that our nation knows how to honour the good in men even when they have faltered. Ibori’s redemption journey is one that inspires hope that no matter how far one falls, with reflection and remorse, one can rise again to serve. From the bustling markets of Warri to the serene towns of the North, from the youth of Lagos to the elders of Yenagoa, the name Ibori still resonates. He is remembered as a leader who touched lives, mentored generations, and brought food to many tables. Dr. Obire himself named his daughter Onanefe Miracle after Ibori as a tribute to the character and leadership he believes the man represents. Let this be the season where your administration shows that greatness lies not only in economic progress but also in acts of reconciliation. Mr. President, you have the unique opportunity to write a new chapter in Nigeria’s story by extending a hand of mercy to a man who once gave his all for peace and unity. We, the Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria, join our voices with millions in appealing to your conscience and leadership. Let Chief James Onanefe Ibori be granted a presidential pardon not just for who he was, but for who he still is to so many: a symbol of strength, service, and the possibility of redemption.

We are grateful for the spirit of service You have instilled in him and for the numerous lives he has impacted. On this special occasion, we ask that You shower him with blessings. May his life be filled with joy, peace, and prosperity. Guide his every decision with Your wisdom, and let his endeavors continue to yield positive results for all. May he enjoy long and meaningful days, and may his efforts never be in vain. Let his legacy inspire future generations. The Lord bless you and safeguard you; The Lord shine His face upon you and show you grace; The Lord lift His countenance toward you and grant you peace. Happy birthday, dear brother. You are profoundly valued and deeply loved. With warmest regards, Dr. Godwin Obire Executive Assistant (Political) To the Executive Governor of Delta State

Obire Condemns Vandalism, Urges Swift Action on Railway Repair in Agbarho Dr. Godwin Obire, Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State (Political), has strongly condemned the recent acts of vandalism and theft of railway tracks in Agbarho Kingdom, describing them as alarming and detrimental to national infrastructure. Expressing concern over the persistent theft along the Agbarho section of the railway, Dr. Obire warned that such criminal acts could severely disrupt rail transport between Delta Central and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. He emphasized that while air and road transport options exist, the railway remains a vital, cost-effective, and safer alternative for the people of Delta Central Senatorial District. Reacting to a widely circulated video showing the extent of the vandalism, Obire stressed that the federal government is making significant efforts to expand and connect rail networks across the country. He called for an end to the destruction of such critical investments, noting that such behavior undermines national development and endangers lives. Dr. Obire urged the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, Hon. Jaro Egbo, to act promptly by formally writing to the relevant federal authorities to ensure urgent repairs of the damaged railway infrastructure in Agbarho. He underscored the need for timely intervention to prevent potential accidents and ensure the uninterrupted movement of people and goods. Furthermore, Obire encouraged the local government chairman to collaborate closely with traditional rulers, community heads, and stakeholders along the railway corridor to protect national assets. He emphasized that the responsibility of safeguarding public infrastructure must be shared by all levels of government and the communities they serve. In his remarks, Dr. Obire also extended gratitude to the Delta State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for the numerous completed and ongoing developmental projects in Agbarho and across Ughelli North. He applauded the state's commitment to grassroots development and called for sustained synergy between state and local governments for the benefit of the people.

CNBN Condemns EFCC's Detention of Social Activist, Accuses Agency of Abusing Power – Dr. Godwin Obire The Concerned Nigerians for a Better Nigeria (CNBN) has strongly criticised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the arrest and continued detention of social justice advocate and digital influencer Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man (VDM). The group described the action as an overreach of the Commission’s lawful mandate. In an official statement issued by CNBN’s National Coordinator, Dr. Godwin Obire, the group alleged that the EFCC has been unlawfully functioning as a private enforcer for a commercial bank, rather than fulfilling its core responsibility of combating financial crimes. The statement accused the agency of aligning with powerful interests against citizens seeking justice. According to Dr. Obire, Mr. Otse’s only known action was to visit a bank branch to question unexplained deductions from his mother’s account. CNBN expressed dismay that this lawful and peaceful inquiry led to his detention, labeling the EFCC’s response as a gross violation of civil rights and a misapplication of legal power under the Cybercrime Act. The group further decried what it described as a disturbing pattern by security agencies to misuse the Cybercrime Act to stifle the voices of media practitioners and human rights activists. Dr. Obire warned that powerful individuals and institutions increasingly use frivolous petitions to manipulate state institutions against ordinary Nigerians. CNBN raised concern that the EFCC appears uninterested in protecting the rights of everyday citizens, instead demonstrating a troubling preference for shielding influential entities from public accountability. The group questioned whether bank customers now risk arrest for merely demanding transparency regarding their own finances. Dr. Obire stated, “It is both shocking and unacceptable that the EFCC, which routinely ignores serious allegations of financial misconduct involving government officials and politically exposed persons, would hastily detain a private citizen over a simple complaint against a bank. This suggests a dangerous double standard in the agency’s operations.” He further emphasised that Mr. Otse’s actions do not amount to cyberbullying or economic crimes, and that the arrest was based on a questionable warrant issued by a magistrate’s court. CNBN insisted that his right to free expression and lawful protest, as guaranteed under Chapter 4 of the Nigerian Constitution, was blatantly violated. The group also condemned the EFCC for refusing to provide adequate legal justification for Mr. Otse’s detention. According to his legal representatives at Deji Adeyanju and Partners, the agency merely presented a warrant from Magistrate Njideka Iloanya-Duru on the grounds of cyberstalking, without offering substantive evidence or explanation. CNBN called for Mr. Otse’s immediate and unconditional release, asserting that he must be presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. The group concluded by urging law enforcement agencies to act within the boundaries of the law and resist being manipulated by elite interests at the expense of citizens’ rights and freedoms.

Delta’s Shift to APC Anchored in Strategic Governance, Not Personal Agenda – Obire Dr. Godwin Obire, Executive Assistant (Political) to the Delta State Governor and native of Agbarho Orohokpokpor in Ughelli North Local Government Area, has described the recent wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a calculated and forward-looking decision made in the best interest of Delta State’s political and developmental future. In an interview with Channels Television, Dr. Obire emphasized that the move was not spontaneous but the result of a deliberate evaluation of the evolving political landscape, both at the state and national levels. He argued that the Governor's decision to align with the APC underscores his leadership qualities and his prioritization of the state’s long-term welfare over individual ambitions. “Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has demonstrated a keen sense of leadership. Despite commendable performance in office, he recognized the need to make a strategic political move to ensure inclusivity and secure Delta’s place in Nigeria’s political future,” Obire stated. He explained that numerous political observers have noted the PDP’s dwindling influence on the national stage, particularly its lack of a coherent structure or direction. “If I were to ask you who the current National Secretary of the PDP is, chances are you wouldn’t know. That in itself is telling,” he remarked, underscoring the party’s perceived leadership vacuum. Addressing speculation that the defection was tied to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s alleged entanglements with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Obire dismissed such claims, reiterating that the decision was rooted purely in political pragmatism. “This move was not influenced by any individual’s circumstances. It is about securing a better future for all Deltans, including myself,” he said. “As the governor’s political aide, we faced uncertainty about our trajectory until this bold step was taken.” Obire revealed that concerns over Delta’s political isolation were consistently raised by stakeholders, prompting the governor to act in response to calls for realignment with the federal structure. “Remaining in the opposition for over a decade has not served the state's broader interests. It’s time to be part of the system that drives national policy,” he added. He pointed out that with President Bola Tinubu’s administration showing notable interest in the state — and with the First Lady being of Delta origin — it is strategically beneficial to integrate with the ruling party. Obire also highlighted the limitations of relying solely on FAAC allocations, stressing that meaningful development requires stronger collaboration with the federal government. “We need to be at the table where decisions are made, not on the sidelines. Federal backing is crucial for implementing large-scale infrastructure projects and policy initiatives,” he asserted. Looking ahead, he mentioned plans to partner with the federal government on critical sectors such as port development, energy infrastructure, and other strategic investments. “Now that we are politically aligned with the center, we are better positioned to attract impactful projects and foster genuine progress for Delta State,” Obire concluded.
