Obire Reacts to Federal Government’s Withdrawal of Defamation Suit Against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan I have carefully followed the decision of the Federal Government to withdraw the criminal defamation charges against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, as well as the ruling of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory ordering her full discharge and the immediate release of her travel documents and those of her sureties. The discontinuance of this suit by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation marks a critical moment in our democratic journey. It brings to an end a legal action that, for months, intensified political tensions within the 10th Senate and stirred widespread national debate on free speech, legislative oversight, and the appropriate limits of criminal defamation in a constitutional democracy. The court’s decision to strike out the case and formally discharge the Senator reinforces the foundational principle that justice must not only be done, but must be seen to be done. It also underscores the importance of restraint in the exercise of prosecutorial powers, particularly where issues of public interest, whistleblowing, and legislative accountability are involved. While the allegations that gave rise to this case generated strong emotions and divided public opinion, the withdrawal of the charges signals a necessary institutional reassessment. It affirms that criminal prosecution should not be deployed in a manner that may discourage elected representatives from raising concerns or performing their oversight functions in good faith. I acknowledge the role of the judiciary in safeguarding individual liberties and commend the decision of the Federal Government to discontinue the matter after due review. This outcome strengthens public confidence in our justice system and reinforces the belief that democratic institutions are capable of self-correction. As a nation, we must continue to promote dialogue, accountability, and respect for due process. The resolution of this case should serve as a reminder that political disagreements are best addressed within the framework of law, reason, and democratic norms not through actions that may be perceived as punitive or suppressive. Ultimately, this development should encourage a more mature political culture, one in which dissent is not criminalised, oversight is not feared, and the rule of law remains supreme. PUBLIC DISCLAIMER, TOTAL REPUDIATION, AND CONDEMNATION OF A FRAUDULENT REJOINDE My attention has been drawn to a document circulating in the public space titled “A Rejoinder to the Purported Endorsement of Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for Delta North Senate, 2027.” I, Godwin Obire, hereby issue this unequivocal, forceful, and irrevocable disclaimer, making it abundantly clear that the inclusion of my name among the so called “undersigned persons” is a wicked falsehood, a brazen lie, and a deliberate act of political fraud. I have no knowledge of this rejoinder, I did not attend any meeting connected to it, I did not endorse any statement arising from it, and I did not authorize any individual or group to speak, write, or act on my behalf. Unless there exists another person bearing the same name within the Delta North Senatorial District which I strongly doubt it must be clearly understood that I am not from Delta North and have absolutely no connection whatsoever to this publication or its contents. The unauthorized use of my name without my consent, participation, or approval is falsehood from the pit of hell, an immoral, unethical, and criminal attempt to manufacture legitimacy where none exists. The practice of appending people’s names as “undersigned persons” without their express consent represents the lowest and most despicable form of political deception, exposing the intellectual bankruptcy and moral collapse of those responsible. Any group or individual who must forge consent has already lost every moral argument and forfeited any claim to credibility. I therefore condemn this act in the strongest possible terms and refute the entire document in its entirety, as it is nothing more than a compilation of lies stacked upon lies, sustained by desperation, bad faith, and deliberate misrepresentation. I totally reject its authorship, claims, tone, conclusions, and its fraudulent list of signatories; it possesses no legitimacy, no moral authority, and no factual foundation, and stands exposed as political forgery masquerading as opinion. For the avoidance of doubt, I state clearly and without apology that Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa is a great leader, a man who has blessed me personally, contributed meaningfully to Delta State, and continues to stand as a political pillar to the entire state. Any attempt to malign him through manufactured endorsements, fake rejoinders, or forged signatures is an insult to truth and intelligence, and Dr. Okowa stands far above those who hide behind falsehoods, rented outrage, and stolen consent. I therefore demand the immediate removal of my name from the said publication, a public apology from those responsible for the unauthorized use of my identity, and that the public entirely disregard the said rejoinder as fraudulent, deceptive, and illegitimate. Let it be firmly on record that I, Godwin Obire, reject, refute, and condemn this rejoinder totally for truth needs no forgery, leadership needs no lies, and consent can never be stolen. Signed: Godwin Obire Not a signatory, not a participant, not an endorser but a victim of political falsehood

Obire Condemns U.S. Over “Kidnapping” of Venezuela’s President: Warns of Dangerous Precedent for Global Sovereignty By Christopher Anderson Point-Blank Magazine – Saturday, January 3, 2026 In a forceful denunciation, Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, chairman of Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN), has expressed outrage over the recent actions of the United States regarding Venezuela’s president. Speaking during a telephone press conference from Nigeria, Obire described the reported U.S. military seizure of the Venezuelan leader and its declaration of control over the country’s leadership as an act tantamount to outright kidnapping a reckless and unprecedented violation of national sovereignty. “If the United States employs military force to capture the sitting president of Venezuela and publicly claims authority over that nation’s leadership, it does not qualify as intervention it is nothing less than kidnapping under the guise of power politics,” Obire declared. He criticized the U.S. for exploiting Venezuela’s economic vulnerability, calling this a “brazen display of might against a weaker nation incapable of retaliation.” The incident, he said, starkly exposes the global power imbalance, where powerful states dare only to act against “third world” countries, sparing stronger rivals with deterrent capability. Obire warned that the ramifications of such an aggressive act extend far beyond the borders of Venezuela. “The danger is not just the immediate injustice but the perilous precedent it sets,” he cautioned. “If any country normalizes the forcible removal of another nation’s leaders and asserts itself as their sovereign authority, it invites a dangerous chain reaction. No country would tolerate such treatment especially global powers like China, Russia, Germany, or the United Kingdom. The fact that such actions are considered only against weaker states exposes a glaring hypocrisy at the heart of current international relations.” Highlighting the broader political implications, Obire singled out U.S. President Donald J. Trump as emblematic of the perilous mindset fueling these developments. “Trump’s tenure was marked by disdain for diplomacy and multilateral cooperation,” he pointed out. “His repeated undermining of international norms laid the groundwork for this kind of lawlessness. Should the U.S. follow through with claims of leadership over Venezuela, it would be an outright coup a violent assault on Venezuela’s self-determination disguised as leadership.” Such conduct, Obire explained, not only destroys decades of diplomatic progress but reinforces global perceptions of U.S. power as coercive rather than collaborative. Obire called on world leaders to unequivocally condemn this act, stressing that silence would amount to complicity. “The strongest voices against unilateral domination especially those major powers consistently advocating for sovereignty deserve recognition,” he said. “Defending Venezuela in this moment means defending the fundamental principle that no nation, irrespective of size or strength, should fear external overthrow.” Olorogun Godwin Obire warned that the hypothetical seizure of Venezuela’s leader encapsulates the worst of global power dynamics: force supplanting law, arrogance replacing dialogue, and domination extinguishing cooperation. “A global order that tolerates coups by declaration and leadership by coercion is a world edging toward permanent instability,” he asserted. “If such acts are attempted, they must be condemned outright and without hesitation for the very future of international order depends on rejecting such dangerous precedents.”

Michael Blasts Okpebholo Over Continued Neglect of Esan Land, Commends His Efforts but Says They Are Not Enough By Ibrahim Muhammad Point-Blank Magazine Saturday, January 3, 2026 Chairman of Esan Descendants in Diaspora (EDD), Ambassador Omijie Odianosen Michael, has strongly and aggressively criticised Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, for what he described as continued neglect of Esan land, despite being an Esan man himself. Speaking while hosting members of Esan Descendants in Diaspora (EDD) in New York, Omijie said the Esan people have been marginalised for over 40 years in Edo State in terms of infrastructure, political relevance, and development. He expressed disappointment that Governor Okpebholo, who comes from Esan Central Local Government like himself, has failed to prioritise Esan land, stressing that “charity begins at home.” According to him, the current administration should clearly reflect that it is an Esan-led government meant to serve Esan people first. Omijie said it was shocking that while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is heavily investing in the South-West, Governor Okpebholo appears to be ignoring his own people and focusing on projects that have little or no direct impact on Esan communities. He pointed out that major roads such as Ekpoma–Ugbegun, Ekpoma–Uromi–Ubiaja, and Sasaro–Igarra–Ibillo are in terrible condition, describing them as death traps. He added that erosion is gradually wiping Esan communities out of existence, while both state and federal governments have done very little over the years. According to Omijie, “For 35 to 40 years, Esan people have complained of political and infrastructural marginalisation, and nobody listened. God has now given us the governorship, yet instead of focusing on Esan land, the governor is acting confused.” He stated that almost all Esan local government areas lack basic infrastructure compared to other parts of the state and called on the governor to channel at least 80% of Edo State resources to Esan land, arguing that Esan people have suffered neglect for far too long. While Omijie acknowledged some ongoing projects by the Okpebholo administration including the construction of a 150-bed specialist hospital in Udomi, a few road projects, an electricity injection substation, and water projects he described these efforts as “too little and not good enough” when compared to the level of decay in Esan land. He stressed that development for Esan people is not a privilege but a right, adding that promises and budget allocations mean nothing without visible and tangible results. Omijie also warned that Esan people must take advantage of having the governorship now, as it may take a very long time before Esan produces another governor in Edo State. He further highlighted the severe erosion crisis affecting many Esan communities, noting that lives and farmlands are being lost. While acknowledging intervention efforts by the state government, the Federal Government, NEWMAP, and international partners, he insisted that the response remains slow and inconsistent. Omijie Odianosen Michael commended Governor Okpebholo’s efforts, but firmly stated that they fall far short of expectations, urging the governor to do much more, show stronger commitment, and decisively correct decades of injustice against Esan land. He clarified that the Esan Descendants in Diaspora (EDD) is a non-partisan organisation committed solely to the development and welfare of Esan people worldwide.

OBIRE DEMANDS FULL-SCALE PROBE OF ATIKU: CALLS ON TINUBU TO UNMASK ALLEGED $16 BILLION POWER SCAM By Muhammad Ibrahim | Radio News Report | January 1, 2025 A senior figure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, has formally petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, demanding an immediate and independent investigation into former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over alleged corruption, embezzlement, and diversion of $16 billion earmarked for power projects during the Obasanjo administration between 1999 and 2007. Obire, who also serves as Executive Assistant (Political) to the Delta State Governor, insists the allegations represent one of Nigeria’s gravest unresolved corruption scandals and must no longer be ignored. In the strongly worded letter dated January 1, 2025, Obire urged President Tinubu to direct the Chief Justice of Nigeria to appoint an independent counsel under Section 52 of the ICPC Act, 2000, citing both the law and the 1999 Constitution. He argued that the scale of the alleged financial diversion, combined with its devastating national consequences, demands urgent presidential action to restore public trust and demonstrate zero tolerance for high-level corruption. Obire anchored his demand on the findings of a parliamentary hearing conducted by the House of Representatives in 20216, which revealed that the $16 billion reportedly spent on electricity projects could not be properly accounted for. Testimonies before the committee suggested that major contracts were either abandoned, poorly executed, or never executed at all, yet were fully paid for and recorded as completed projects by relevant authorities. The petition further accused successive governments of deliberately sweeping the scandal under the carpet for more than a decade, warning that continued silence amounts to complicity. Obire stressed that uninterrupted electricity is a fundamental driver of development, noting that Nigeria’s persistent power failure has worsened poverty, crippled healthcare delivery, undermined food security, and forced citizens to rely on unsafe water and survival-level living conditions. Citing specific cases from the parliamentary hearing, Obire highlighted how foreign and local contractors allegedly collected huge sums for phantom projects, including the Mambilla Hydro-Electric Power Project. According to testimonies, hundreds of millions of naira were paid for feasibility studies without site visits, while token structures were erected merely to create the illusion of progress, leaving critical power stations like Kainji, Egbin, Afam, and Ughelli uncompleted despite full budgetary allocations. Obire concluded by calling on President Tinubu to work closely with the ICPC and EFCC to ensure a transparent, fearless, and credible investigation. He maintained that probing Atiku’s alleged role in the $16 billion power scandal would send a clear message that no individual is above the law, reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to the UN Convention against Corruption, and finally deliver justice to millions of Nigerians denied reliable electricity due to alleged grand corruption.

2027 POLITICS: Peter Obi’s Defection Carries No Electoral Weight, Tinubu’s Prospects Remain Firm — Godwin Obire Point-Blank Magazine By Godwin Okohenetaga The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Affairs, Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, has dismissed the recent political realignment involving former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, describing it as politically insignificant and incapable of affecting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 presidential election. Speaking on the development, Obire said the coalition being promoted by Obi and his new political associates amounts to what he called a gathering of “politically exhausted figures” whose past records, he argued, have already been rejected by Nigerians. He listed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, NNPP leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai as politicians whose years in leadership, according to him, coincided with worsening poverty, insecurity, and stalled development, particularly in Northern Nigeria. Obire stated that their decision to regroup under a new political platform does not erase their past performance, nor does it change public perception. He argued that Nigerians, especially in the North, are now more politically aware and less likely to be swayed by what he described as recycled political alliances. According to him, Northern Nigeria continues to grapple with the consequences of years of ineffective governance and elite-driven politics, and voters, he said, are unlikely to entrust power again to leaders they associate with those outcomes. Obire maintained that any attempt to regain relevance through Peter Obi or a new coalition would fail at the polls in 2027. Turning to the ruling party, Obire said President Tinubu approaches the next election with significant institutional advantages. He pointed to the All Progressives Congress’ national structure, its control of key states, and its established grassroots machinery across multiple regions of the country. He noted that Tinubu’s political base in the South-West remains solid, while the APC continues to build competitive strength in the South-South and South-East through influential party leaders and sitting governors. Obire dismissed claims that an ADC-led coalition could pose a serious threat to the incumbent president, describing such expectations as disconnected from political realities on the ground. He argued that defeating a sitting president with broad party support, experienced organizers, and nationwide networks would require more than what he termed a “coalition of convenience.” He concluded by saying that the 2027 general election would be decided by political structure, leadership capacity, and voter discernment rather than online activism or media noise. According to Obire, Nigerians are increasingly able to distinguish between political rhetoric and effective power, and as a result, President Tinubu remains well positioned to secure a second term.

TINUBU SHAKES NIGERIA’S ECONOMY FOREIGN FIRMS RETURN, NAIRA STANDS TALL — OSANEBI FIRES BACK AT CRITICS Punch Newspapers By George Ogbuagu Monday, December 15, 2025 Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi, former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and APC Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2023 election, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is changing Nigeria’s economy for good. Speaking to journalists in Lagos, Osanebi said the President is lifting the standard of living and leaving behind a strong and positive economic legacy that Nigerians will remember for years. Osanebi pointed to the decision by UK-based firm, PZ Cussons, to cancel its plan to leave Nigeria as clear proof that Tinubu’s reforms are working. He said the company openly credited the President’s economic policies for its change of mind. Osanebi recalled that in 2024, PZ Cussons reported heavy losses and announced plans to exit Nigeria, blaming harsh economic conditions before the reforms began to settle. He stressed that today, the story has changed as the reforms are now bearing fruit and investors are gaining confidence again. According to him, PZ Cussons now sees strong hope and big opportunity in Nigeria and across Africa. He said the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) reacted positively, while foreign investors are also moving in quietly. Osanebi noted that the NGX All-Share Index rose by 37.6 percent in 2024 and jumped further by 50.3 percent in 2025. He explained that an investment of ₦1 million in early 2024 would now be worth about ₦2.07 million, showing strong growth and renewed trust in the Nigerian market. Osanebi also revealed that Nigeria’s stock market has grown fast under President Tinubu. He said market value moved from about 13 percent of GDP to 26 percent, now standing near ₦95 trillion in equities alone. With expected listings like the Dangote Refinery, he said the market will grow even bigger. He quoted respected economist Bismarck Rewane, who predicted that the market could rise to ₦262 trillion by 2026, a sign that Nigeria’s economy is maturing and becoming stronger. He added that the naira has become stable and investors are now more confident holding naira assets than dollars, something that was hard to imagine two years ago. Osanebi said Nigeria’s foreign reserves have also grown strongly, reaching about $46.7 billion, while net reserves jumped from $4 billion in 2024 to about $29 billion in 2025. He explained that this shows the Central Bank has cleared old forex debts and cleaned up the nation’s books. Osanebi concluded by saying President Tinubu is on the right path and the results are already clear. He referenced recent comments by Reno Omokri and Bismarck Rewane, who both said the painful reforms will start paying off fully from 2026. He added that with growing support from foreign partners and improved security efforts, Nigeria will attract more foreign investment, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for ordinary Nigerians.

CNBN Blasts Protesters, Labels Anti-Otuaro Agitation a Calculated Assault on Niger Delta Stability By Oghenevwarho Glory Thursday, December 11, 2025 The Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN) has alleged that the recent protests demanding the removal of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, are sponsored and politically motivated. It will be recalled that on December 8, 2025, a group of protesters barricaded the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, urging lawmakers to compel President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to suspend Otuaro over alleged nepotism and favouritism. However, in a statement issued on Thursday, the National Chairman of CNBN, Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, dismissed the protesters as faceless individuals seeking undue attention. He claimed the protests and accompanying media attacks were orchestrated by long-standing detractors of Otuaro and by those opposed to stability and progress within the Amnesty Office and, by extension, the Niger Delta region. CNBN insisted that allegations of favouritism and nepotism against Otuaro are fabricated, stressing that the PAP boss has so far demonstrated transparency, fairness, and equity in his stewardship of the agency. The statement reads in part: “The attention of the Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN) has been drawn to a recent protest by some individuals at the National Assembly Complex, calling for the removal of the committed Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, over claims of favouritism and corruption. “We want to state categorically that those who protested in Abuja are unknown to us, and their actions were instigated by Dr. Otuaro’s naysayers, who have chosen to ignore his outstanding leadership of the PAP. “The allegations of favouritism, corruption, nepotism, and every other accusation levelled against him are false. Anyone familiar with the PAP can attest to how altruistic and transparent Otuaro has been since his appointment.” Obire emphasized that Otuaro has performed exceptionally well in office, noting that CNBN has never been as satisfied with any previous PAP leadership as it is with the current administration. He highlighted that under Otuaro, the Amnesty Programme has significantly prioritized education, awarding scholarships to hundreds of indigent undergraduates across the Niger Delta to pursue various programmes in institutions nationwide. He added that Otuaro has also been inclusive in his leadership style, constantly engaging stakeholders across the board while ensuring that the interests of all PAP delegates are safeguarded. Obire questioned why some individuals appear determined to undermine Otuaro despite his dedicated efforts to steer the PAP toward fulfilling its mandate. “It is unfortunate that some people remain blind to the numerous achievements of the Otuaro-led PAP simply because of their personal hatred for him and the efficiency with which he runs the Amnesty Office,” he said. Lamenting the persistent lack of unity in the Niger Delta, Obire appealed to residents of the region to desist from internal conflicts. According to him, “We must cooperate with Dr. Otuaro and other appointees of the Federal Government who have been entrusted with the task of promoting peace and development in our region.” He further stressed that there are more constructive ways to express grievances than staging protests and calling for the dismissal of public officials who, in his view, are performing well. “The endless protests and media attacks against Dr. Otuaro must stop. They are counterproductive. We cannot maliciously distract public officials who occupy sensitive positions and expect them to remain focused enough to deliver excellent results.” The CNBN used the opportunity to commend President Tinubu for entrusting Otuaro with the leadership of the PAP, insisting that he has exceeded expectations. “We also appreciate the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the security agencies for supporting Otuaro’s efforts in stabilizing the Niger Delta region. Without your contributions, the PAP would not be making the tremendous progress it is achieving under Otuaro,” Obire added.

Osanebi’s One Billion Naira Christmas Gift A Philanthropic Gesture Bringing Hope, Joy, and Relief to Deltans Speaking to journalists in Lagos, Comrade Mathias Ogochukwu Osanebi, younger brother to Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi, expressed deep pride as he explained the remarkable humanitarian gesture his brother is extending to the people of Delta State this festive season. He said that Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi has once again shown his genuine love for the people by releasing an extraordinary one billion naira to support families during Christmas. According to Mathias, his brother is known not only for his political achievements but also for his compassion, kindness, and commitment to helping humanity. He emphasized that in a season when many families are struggling under harsh economic conditions, this generous contribution is meant to bring joy, hope, and comfort into homes across the state. He explained that his brother’s actions reflect more than financial ability they reflect a sincere desire to make life better for others during one of the most important seasons of the year. Mathias further explained that preparations for the distribution have begun, starting with the formation of a committee that will handle the coordination of the entire process. He noted that Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi personally directed that a credible and responsible team be appointed to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in the sharing of all items. He told journalists that the committee will be inaugurated soon and will take charge of supervising the movement of goods and funds to every area of Delta State. Mathias stressed that the current economic challenges affecting Nigerians inspired his brother to take this bold step. He stated that his brother believes that an act of kindness no matter how small or large can restore happiness to families during Christmas. According to him, Rt. Hon. Osanebi finds great joy in seeing ordinary people smile, and this is what drives him to continue giving generously year after year. Continuing his remarks, Mathias explained that this year’s committee would be larger and more proactive than the team appointed last year. He recalled that in 2024, an eight-member committee successfully distributed ₦200 million worth of Christmas gifts, with members such as Chief Lucas Obiosa and Idi Presley playing key roles. He noted that their dedication ensured that goods reached the right people across the state. However, with the huge increase to ₦1 billion for this year’s distribution, the team has been expanded to include more individuals to make the work more effective, organized, and widespread. Mathias said he deeply admires the seriousness and integrity that his brother brings to this project, adding that this shows Rt. Hon. Osanebi’s commitment not just to giving money but to ensuring the entire process is carried out responsibly. He stated that the purpose is to reach even more families this year and to ensure that every community feels the impact of this goodwill. Mathias also highlighted the impressive list of items that will be distributed to the people this year, explaining that they are intended to help families celebrate Christmas with dignity and joy. He mentioned that the gifts include trailer loads of rice, cows, goats, groundnut oil, tinned tomatoes, cash gifts, and several other essential supplies that will ease the burden of the season. He emphasized that these items are more than material assistance they are meant to bring comfort and restore happiness to people who may be facing difficult times. He also pointed out that his brother has continued another major humanitarian project: the gifting of cars to deserving individuals. According to Mathias, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi has given cars to youths, widows, hardworking community members, loyal supporters, and several people striving to improve their lives. He said he has personally witnessed the joy and relief these car gifts have brought, describing them as life changing. He stressed that his brother’s generosity is not limited to festive seasons but is part of his ongoing mission to uplift and empower people in all parts of Delta State. In addition to the physical items and financial support, Mathias praised his brother’s dedication to inspiring others to embrace acts of kindness. He told journalists that he has been urging wealthy and well meaning Deltans to follow Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi’s example by contributing to the welfare of their communities. He explained that charity is more effective when many hands are involved, and he stressed that giving should be a shared responsibility among those blessed with resources. According to him, his brother’s consistent humanitarian spirit has already motivated many people across the state, and he believes this ripple effect will encourage even more individuals to show love and generosity. Mathias said he is extremely proud of how his brother continues to position himself as a champion of goodwill, unity, and compassion, inspiring others to spread kindness not only during Christmas but throughout the entire year. In his final remarks, Mathias emphasized that the one billion naira donation is a powerful symbol of hope, love, and unity for the people of Delta State. He said the gesture goes far beyond financial assistance it represents true leadership, genuine empathy, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of ordinary people. As his younger brother, he said he is profoundly proud of Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi for using his resources to bring joy and relief to countless families. Mathias noted that many homes will experience a brighter Christmas because of this gesture, and he believes that the impact will strengthen the bond between communities. He concluded by saying that his brother’s generosity will inspire many more acts of kindness in the future and that the spirit of giving he has shown this year will continue to light up the hearts of Deltans for many years to come.

Desperate Power Grabbers Obire Condemns Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency’s Selfish Bid for Delta Central Senatorial Seat in 2027 Olorogun Godwin Obire PhD, Chairman Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN) has blasted those from Ughelli/Udu federal constituency looking towards the Delta central senatorial seat come 2027 election describe them as desperate selfish and self centered politicians who are not aspiring for the collective interest of the good of the ughelli/udu federal constituency. Speaking with journalist in Asaba the political strategist said "The political conversation surrounding the 2027 Delta Central Senatorial election has taken a new turn, and the message from well meaning leaders across the district is clear: there is no vacancy in the Delta Central Senate seat. Senator Ede Dafinone has earned the confidence of the district through performance, accessibility, and a refreshing style of representation that prioritizes the collective interest of the Urhobo Nation. At a time when the people seek stability and continuity, it is only logical that a performing senator be returned for a second term. "From onset of Delta Central’s representation in the Nigerian Senate, Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency has produced more senators than any other bloc within the district. Beginning with the late Senator Felix Ibru, who hailed from Ughelli North, the constituency set a long precedent of occupying the senatorial office. This was followed by Senator Brume, Senator Pius Ewherido from the same Ughelli axis, whose short-lived tenure also reinforced the dominance of the constituency in Delta Central politics. Later, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, also from the Ughelli/Udu federal constituency, held the office for eight years another testament to how consistently that bloc has been favored. "When these tenures are placed side by side, it becomes obvious that no federal constituency has enjoyed the senatorial position more than Ughelli/Udu. Their representation spans multiple electoral cycles, providing them more than ample opportunity to influence legislation, attract development, and shape the political narrative of Delta Central. Equity, fairness, and balanced political rotation demand that other federal constituencies also be given the chance to serve. The idea of returning the Senate to Ughelli/Udu immediately in 2027 after such lengthy dominance runs counter to the principles of justice that the Urhobo Nation stands for. "It is therefore understandable why many political observers view the current rumoured ambitions from Ughelli North, Ughelli South and the entire Ughelli/Udu federal constituency as misguided and premature. Their federal constituency has had its time in the Senate, and undeniably so. No other constituency in Delta Central has enjoyed the same level of opportunity. A renewed push to reclaim the Senate seat now, after years of occupying it, would amount to political overreach and a marginalization of other blocs who have patiently waited for their turn. "Moreover, the attempt to challenge Senator Ede Dafinone at a time when he is delivering tangible results is not just politically insensitive it is strategically unwise. Dafinone has emerged as a stabilizing figure, one whose representation has brought dignity, investments, and new visibility to Delta Central. Abandoning a performing senator simply because a few individuals want to recycle old ambitions would not only disrupt ongoing progress but also weaken the collective strength of the district. "Politics should be about service, not entitlement. It is not a birthright for any village, clan, or constituency. The era when one federal constituency repeatedly cornered the senatorial seat has passed. Delta Central now seeks a more balanced political future one where every constituency has a fair chance, and where performance, not old networks, determines who leads. The Ughelli/Udu leaders who previously served have had their time, and history records their contributions; but the district has moved forward. "As Delta Central approaches 2027, the call for continuity under Senator Ede Dafinone is growing louder. His steady, principled, and people centered representation has made him the preferred choice for a second term. The district cannot afford an experiment or a backward step into political recycling. Senator Dafinone represents progress, balance, and the new face of Delta Central’s political future. "For these reasons, the message ahead of 2027 is unmistakable: there is no vacancy in the Delta Central Senatorial seat. Senator Ede Dafinone has earned the mandate for a second term, and equity demands that other constituencies respect the rotation that has long favored them. It is time to consolidate progress, not derail it. Obire said.

OBIRE ACCUSES SOWORE OF SPREADING FALSEHOOD AGAINST SENATOR NED NWOKO In Abuja, the Chairman of Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN), Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, strongly criticized activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore for accusing Senator Ned Nwoko of land grabbing in Idumuje-Ugboko. Dr. Obire said Sowore was repeating the same allegations he had made years ago, claiming Senator Nwoko seized community land and sponsored violence. He dismissed the claims as malicious and misleading. He emphasized that he had worked closely with Senator Nwoko since 2000. According to him, the real facts have been consistently ignored by those spreading false narratives. In his statement, Dr. Obire explained that Senator Nwoko applied in 2015 for 90 hectares of land to establish a Sports University in Idumuje-Ugboko. He noted that the then traditional ruler, Obi Albert Nwoko, consulted widely before approving the land allocation to Linas International Limited, a company owned by Senator Nwoko. Obire said the project was initially celebrated by community members, including Chukwunonso Nwoko and business owner Gabriel Ogbechie. Trouble began when Chukwunonso allegedly attempted to assume traditional authority before his father’s passing. The resulting conflict, he said, created division within the community. Dr. Obire further recalled the violence that erupted in 2017, which left 29 victims traumatized and homeless. He alleged that thugs and native doctors were brought into the community, leading to widespread destruction. The Iyase and Odogwu of the community were reportedly beaten and their properties vandalized. He stated that one of the victims later died after years of illness caused by the attack. Another victim, he said, became incapacitated and has struggled medically ever since. According to Obire, the 2017 crisis led to two deaths, including that of a commercial motorcycle rider, Cyprian Kumuolu, who was allegedly killed on the orders of Chukwunonso Nwoko. He said the victim’s body was never recovered, and the family has been seeking justice for years. Another victim, Kennedy Iloh, allegedly died from injuries sustained during the violence. He also mentioned that several individuals were charged with terrorism, arson, and murder in Abuja before the case was discontinued. Obire accused some officials of obstructing justice for the victims. The CNBN chairman also reacted to Sowore’s reports about a young man named Blessing, who drowned at Mount Ned, a tourist site in the community. He explained that the police investigated the incident and confirmed it was an accident. Obire condemned Sowore for linking the death to Senator Nwoko and for dragging actress Regina Daniels into the narrative. He described the reports as deliberate attempts to mislead the public. He questioned whether character assassination had become Sowore’s regular tactic. Dr. Obire highlighted the recent death of the Obi-designate of Idumuje-Ugboko, Solomon Nwabuokei Nwoko, noting that his passing shocked the community. He alleged that some individuals celebrated the tragedy with gunfire. He insisted that Sowore’s stories about land grabbing originated from people with personal grudges. He stated that a police investigation had cleared Senator Nwoko of wrongdoing. He added that those who submitted forged documents were convicted by a court in Asaba in March 2024. Obire emphasized that multiple official reports, including a Delta State Government white paper, exonerated Senator Nwoko of land grabbing. He stressed that the Local Government Chairman also granted the statutory rights of occupancy for the university land. He said no court in Nigeria had ever indicted Senator Nwoko for murder or land-related crimes. He accused Sowore and others of publishing falsehoods despite not being from Idumuje-Ugboko or understanding the local issues. He described Senator Nwoko as a philanthropist committed to human development and national progress. According to him, the allegations being circulated do not align with the Senator’s character or record. He criticized Sahara Reporters for focusing on attacks rather than the Senator’s legislative achievements. He argued that responsible journalism should promote truth and fairness. He maintained that disputes should be resolved legally, not through what he called reckless media accusations. Dr. Obire stated that the Land-University dispute had long been resolved, and the Sports University was already in its third academic year. Many of its early opponents, he said, were now benefiting from the institution. He described the university as a global success story. He insisted that revisiting the land controversy was unnecessary. He also stressed that the community had moved past the issue. Finally, Obire noted that the major discussion among Anioma people today is the creation of Anioma State, a project being championed by Senator Nwoko. He said attempts to distract the Senator from this cause would be rejected by people in the region and in the diaspora. He stated that Anioma citizens eagerly await the 2027 elections. He concluded that Senator Nwoko had shown exceptional capacity to transform the region. He reaffirmed CNBN’s support for the Senator.

Their endorsement reflects a collective appreciation for the senator’s achievements, particularly his commitment to public service and his strong vision for a more prosperous Delta North. The vote of confidence was announced during a meeting held in Kwale, where representatives of the CSOs reviewed the activities of oil companies and deliberated on the implementation of local content policies in the state. He further explained that crude oil theft drains billions from the nation every year, weakens investor confidence, and slows national progress. According to him, addressing this menace requires firm action, and Senator Nwoko’s committee is committed to introducing stronger policies, deploying modern security technologies, and ensuring that all offenders regardless of status are held accountable. Such measures, he said, are necessary to protect Nigeria’s resources and safeguard the nation’s economic future. Olorogun Obire added that the committee’s work aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises economic stability and national development. He stated that by protecting the country’s crude oil reserves, the committee is not only securing vital government revenue but also laying the foundation for a sustainable future for all Nigerians. He praised the senator’s dedication and acknowledged the critical contributions of civil society organisations and security agencies in supporting this national effort. Obire expressed appreciation to Senator Nwoko and his committee for their relentless commitment to reform, oversight, and the fight against illegal activities that threaten the country’s progress. He reiterated that the battle against crude oil theft is a shared responsibility and that only through collective effort can Nigeria build a safer and more prosperous future. He affirmed that with continued cooperation, transparency, and strong leadership, the nation can protect its resources and ensure that its natural wealth truly contributes to national growth and development.

2027 IS A DONE DEAL CNBN WARNS THAT NO PROPAGANDA FROM REGINA DANIELS OR CHUKS NWOKO CAN BLOCK SENATOR NED NWOKO’S INEVITABLE SENATE COMEBACK By Andrew Idioms Punch Newspaper Thursday, November 20, 2025 The Concerned Nigerians For Better Nigeria (CNBN) has issued a firm and uncompromising declaration that Senator Ned Nwoko’s victory in the 2027 Delta North senatorial election is guaranteed, stressing that no amount of propaganda, emotional theatrics, fabricated stories, or orchestrated media stunts from Regina Daniels, Chuks Nwoko, or any of their political collaborators will slow down, weaken, or derail Nwoko’s unstoppable march back to the Senate. Instead, the group insists that all such propaganda is strengthening his momentum, fortifying his popularity, and exposing the desperation of those trying to undermine him. In a strongly worded statement signed by the convener, Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, and circulated to journalists on Wednesday, Obire dismissed as baseless, childish, and politically irrelevant the claims that Senator Nwoko’s marital issues with Regina Daniels or the antics of jealous family members such as Chuks Nwoko could destroy his political future. He stressed that these smear campaigns are nothing more than noise from individuals terrified of Nwoko’s influence, adding that their attempts to weaponize personal matters for political gain have already failed spectacularly and will continue to fail because the electorate recognizes propaganda when they see it. Speaking extensively on the 2027 contest, APC chieftain Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, made it abundantly clear that the party’s structure, leadership, and grassroots machinery have already united behind Nwoko as the only credible, viable, and tested choice for Delta North. He emphasized that the APC is not scouting for any alternative because no alternative exists, and any speculation aggressively pushed by detractors is nothing but the frantic imagination of a collapsing opposition desperate to stay relevant. Obire further slammed the “false narratives” being circulated by Regina Daniels, Chuks Nwoko, and their online allies, describing their propaganda as a poorly executed conspiracy built on lies. According to him, the idea that these personal disputes or deceitful social media fabrications could end Nwoko’s legislative journey is laughable, delusional, and entirely disconnected from political reality. He insisted that those spreading these tales are simply trying to distract from Nwoko’s achievements and the massive support he continues to command across Delta North. Reflecting on Nwoko’s political history, Obire recalled the 2011 Delta North senatorial race where Nwoko, contesting on the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) platform, mounted such a powerful challenge against Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP that many believed he had already won. Obire stated that Nwoko’s influence then was so strong that he had to be placated to allow the political establishment to maintain its balance, proving that Nwoko has always commanded a formidable following. He also referenced the turbulent 2019 PDP primaries in which Nwoko contested against Senator Peter Nwaoboshi. Obire described that race as one tainted by internal manipulations, widespread over voting, and irregularities so severe they forced the then governor to intervene. These events, he noted, demonstrated not Nwoko’s weakness but his overwhelming threat to entrenched interests within the old political order, who feared his rise and attempted to derail him through dubious tactics. Now positioned strategically within the APC, Obire stated that Nwoko has the strongest political backing of his career. With the support of the party’s leadership, the full endorsement of the people, and the coordination of a work driven state government, Nwoko enters the 2027 race from a place of unmatched strength. According to him, the combination of a ruling party platform and Nwoko’s record of bold achievements makes his victory not only likely but inevitable. “For the first time in his political journey,” Obire emphasized, “Senator Ned Nwoko is contesting with the unified weight of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ruling party behind him, along with a performance track record so impressive that the opposition cannot fabricate lies strong enough to suppress it. His return to the Senate is not just expected it is unavoidable.” He concluded by throwing a direct challenge at the opposition, daring them to produce their strongest candidate for the contest. According to Obire, no matter who they bring forward, no one in the opposition possesses the political influence, electoral machinery, popularity, or strategic reach to stand against Senator Nwoko. “Name whoever the opposition thinks they can push forward,” he declared, “and accept the simple truth that none of them absolutely none can stop Senator Ned Nwoko’s triumphant return in 2027.”

Anioma State Struggle Has Nothing to Do With Politics or Nwoko’s Ambition – Obire By Vincent Ochuko Benjamite Vanguard Newspapers Tuesday, November 18, 2025 Dr. Olorogun Godwin Obire, Chairman of the Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN), has explained that the call for the creation of Anioma State is not driven by the 2027 elections or by any political ambition. He said that as an Urhobo man who has lived and worked in Delta North since 2000, he understands the district deeply and has worked with several leaders, including late Senator Osakwe, Senator Nwaoboshi, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and now Senator Ned Nwoko. According to him, his long involvement with Anioma leaders makes him fully qualified to speak on the subject, and he insists that the agitation for Anioma State is a matter of equity, identity, and justice not politics. Speaking in Abuja during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Obire described the Anioma State movement as a long standing dream rooted in culture and self determination. He stressed that the demand is not connected to APC politics, nor is it about Senator Ned Nwoko returning to the Senate in 2027. He explained that Anioma people have always maintained a clear and distinct identity, and the proposed state meets every requirement population, economic strength, culture, language, and historical connection. He expressed disappointment that some individuals have chosen to politicize the matter and falsely link it to a political plan for Nwoko, calling such views narrow and disconnected from the genuine excitement of the Anioma people. Obire emphasized that although Senator Ned Nwoko did not initiate the struggle, he is determined to see it completed. He noted that the movement is more than 60 years old and was pioneered by great leaders such as Chief Dennis Osadebay, the first Premier of the Midwest Region. Osadebay coined the word “Anioma” to unite the Aniocha, Ndokwa, Ika, and Oshimili groups. Obire explained that these founding leaders were motivated by identity, history, and fairness not political ambition and this remains the foundation of the movement today. He further mentioned that other notable figures such as George Orewa, Senator Nosike Ikpo, the late Asagba of Asaba, HRM Prof. Chike Edozien, and former Deputy Governor Sir Benjamin Elue also championed Anioma State creation without political motives. Obire made it clear that Senator Ned Nwoko has no desire to be the first governor of a new Anioma State and that those opposing the idea are acting out of fear or personal interest unrelated to the actual needs of the people. He questioned whose interests these antagonists truly represent. Obire explained that the current push for Anioma State has strong support from traditional rulers, including the new Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, and the Dein of Agbor, HRM Benjamin Keagborekuzi I. Politicians from different parties, community leaders, and people from every ethnic group within the district have also endorsed the cause. According to him, about 100 senators and key officials in the Presidency support the proposal. He noted that those who oppose the state did not even appear at the public hearings in Uyo and Enugu on July 4th and 5th, describing them as unwilling to present their views openly. He reported that the public hearing was a major victory, as no dissenting voice was recorded and the proposal received overwhelming acceptance. Obire emphasized that the demand for Anioma State is not a call for separation but a call for proper recognition within Nigeria. He warned that no reasonable person should oppose such a just cause. He described the movement as a growing force that cannot be stopped, urging everyone to set politics aside and recognize that the creation of Anioma State is bigger than personal ambition or political rivalry. It is a collective vision rooted in cultural identity, shared values, and meaningful contribution to the Nigerian nation. He concluded by calling for unity, stating that a divided people cannot make progress.

Sowore Uses Foreign Backing to Undermine Nigeria’s Stability Pointblank Magazine Monday, November 17, 2025 By Mohammed Rizwan Azazul Usman Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, Chairman of the Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN), has publicly called for the arrest of Omoyele Sowore, accusing him of working with foreign interests to undermine the Nigerian government. Dr. Obire alleged that Sowore’s social media activities and reports published by Sahara Reporters were being used to incite the public and create unrest within the country. He claimed that several posts from these platforms attempted to portray key government officials, including the President, the Inspector-General of Police, and members of the Senate, in a negative and misleading manner. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Dr. Obire questioned recent statements from the United States suggesting that Christians were being persecuted in Nigeria. He argued that these claims were politically motivated and, in his view, heavily influenced by narratives circulating through Sowore’s platforms. According to him, such narratives give a distorted image of Nigeria’s true situation and mislead international observers into believing that a genocide is taking place. Dr. Obire further argued that leading U.S. figures, including President Donald Trump, Senator Cruz, and Congressman Moore, had been misinformed by what he described as exaggerated stories about Nigeria. He stated that Nigeria’s security problems affect citizens of all faiths, not only Christians, and insisted that the country’s challenges must not be reduced to religious conflict. In his remarks, he stressed that armed groups such as Boko Haram and ISWAP attack Nigerians without regard to religion and should never be seen as representing any faith. He also accused some foreign actors and media narratives of indirectly strengthening extremist groups by spreading misinformation. Dr. Obire insisted that Nigeria’s difficulties must not be exploited by external powers seeking influence. He linked the recent surge in foreign criticism to Nigeria’s position at the 88th United Nations General Assembly, where the country reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution and solidarity with the Palestinian people. Dr. Obire urged foreign governments to work with Nigeria rather than criticise it from afar. He stated that if international partners were truly committed to helping the country, they would support the Nigerian armed forces with equipment, intelligence, and cooperation instead of relying on media reports and online commentary. He emphasised that Nigeria’s insecurity stems from long-standing issues such as climate change, unemployment, poverty, and criminality, not from religious persecution as some have claimed. Dr. Obire called on Nigerians and international media organisations to be responsible, accurate, and fair in their reporting. He urged the federal government to intensify efforts to protect all citizens, address the root causes of insecurity, and expose any local contributors to misinformation. He argued that Nigeria’s stability must not be influenced by foreign agendas and insisted that the country will resist any attempt to exploit its diversity for political gains.

Obire Accuses Sahara Reporters of Blackmail Journalism and Destabilization Agenda By Timothy McVeigh Point-Blank Newspaper Sunday, November 16, 2025 Olorogun Godwin Obire, PhD, Chairman of the Concerned Nigerians for Better Nigeria (CNBN), has issued a fierce condemnation of Omoyele Sowore, accusing him of engaging in hostile activities against the Nigerian state. Speaking to journalists, Obire alleged that Sowore’s repeated verbal assaults on the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and Senator Prince Ned Nwoko amount to defamation, blackmail, and cyberbullying. According to Obire, these attacks are not isolated incidents but part of what he described as a broader, internationally backed scheme aimed at destabilizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The political communication strategist intensified his criticism by asserting that Sahara Reporters, under Sowore’s leadership, has abandoned all principles of responsible journalism. He labeled the platform a “blackmail factory,” insisting that it operates with the sole intention of generating controversy rather than contributing to constructive national discourse. Obire claimed that Sowore has repeatedly chosen sensationalism over professionalism, and he went as far as calling the activist a “failed politician” whose relevance now depends on creating public disorder and conflict. Obire urged Nigerians to dismiss what he called Sowore’s “theatrics and aggression,” insisting that activism should be founded on verified facts rather than on what he described as vindictive attacks against public figures. He accused Sowore of using Sahara Reporters to publish sensationalized and politically motivated content designed to harass, defame, and undermine public officials. Obire argued that such persistent attacks create damaging narratives that erode public trust and destabilize national institutions. He called on the judiciary to set a strong precedent by firmly addressing online defamation and cyber-harassment, warning that unchecked misinformation threatens national security and public order. The CNBN Chairman further argued that Sowore’s criticisms amount not merely to political dissent but to an assault on the dignity of the Nigerian state. He described Sowore’s language against President Tinubu, the IGP, and Senator Ned Nwoko as inflammatory, bordering on hate speech disguised as activism. Obire demanded decisive state action, including a formal investigation into Sowore for alleged cyber libel and dissemination of misinformation. He insisted that claims such as labeling Nigeria a “failed state” are dangerous narratives capable of deepening public despair, especially among the youth. In an expanded condemnation, Obire said that many reports published by Sahara Reporters under Sowore’s direction are “false, malicious, and capable of inciting public disturbance, disunity, and a breakdown of law and order.” He insisted that Sowore should issue a public retraction and apology through major national media outlets or face the full weight of legal consequences. According to Obire, the tone and frequency of Sowore’s publications could easily be interpreted as attempts to spark unrest or even insurrection, a trend he described as deeply reckless and unacceptable in a democratic environment. Obire called on the Federal Government to adopt a tough and uncompromising stance against what he termed Sowore’s systematic misinformation campaign. He accused Sowore of spreading deliberate falsehoods to defame public officials and weaken public trust in key government institutions. According to Obire, Sowore’s activities amount to political blackmail and calculated destabilization rather than legitimate activism. He warned that such ongoing actions, if unaddressed, risk provoking public unrest, eroding confidence in governance, and undermining national stability.
