Why not use the debugger to enter the call stack and see if it hits the reducer, it's hard to debug at face value, is it online ?

I switched to redux tool kit and I am still having the same issue. The clearCart and removeItem functionality are working just fine. It's just the addOne that isn't. I think the issue is with the 'amount' variable and how it's state is getting altered. I am seriously confused.

So no one can help me? I've seen reactjs, truthcoder and qtguru view this thread.

Please someone should help me sort this out, I am having headache already, and I don't tend to stop until I've figured shit out.

Guys I am creating this ecommerce store app using context api and useReducer for state management. I am trying to increase the quantity of each item using the "amount" variable, but for some reason it is not working. I have examined and re-examined the logic in the reducer function and it seems okay, but yet when i click on the button in my shop page, nothing happens. It doesn't event return an error. I'm really confused. Can someone look through the code and tell me where the bug is?? Thanks.

The person I "insulted" denigrated me when I asked a simple question two months ago when I was still in the beginning stages of my learning. But now I have improved beyond my expectations and can build complex apps from scratch on my own using vanilla Js and reactJs. I've also been practicing DSAs like a mad woman.

He called me a failure because I had trouble fetching data from an API, but here he is two months later, unable to solve a simple algorithm question. How the tables have turned. He deserves all the insults.

learn with problems unless you want to continue in the tutorial hell, an unending loop. Go to any freelance website look at the kind of problems they post, try and solve them with the tools you learnt. Use those solutions as your portfolio. Then you are ready to apply for jobs

No interviewer will pass your solution, olodo. It is slow, inefficient and plain lazy for someone claiming to be an experienced programmer.

Imagine implementing your solution on a large data set. It will take your app hours to load. Mine will take milli seconds. If you can't see the difference then you are irredeemably daft.

The difference in speed will be much if the length of the array increases exponentially.

They're both correct.... Python is generally faster than JavaScript.

Not like yours will run exactly same time with array length of a million.

This isn't about whether python is faster than Javascript. The crux of the matter is that my solution is faster than yours. It is not about the language but about the solution. You could apply a better solution in Javascript that would compile in a faster time, that is if you swallow your ego, sit down and think of how to do that.

If you present your solution in an interview you will fail that interview woefully.

Java is way faster than python but if I implemented your solution in java it will still be slower than the implementation of my solution in python.

DSA questions don't test correctness, they test speed, memory management, efficiency and scalability. For someone who spends a lot of time insulting people that "cannot code", I thought this is something you should know by now.

I don't think it is wise to even use Javascript to solve DSAs. Javascript usually only allows you to arrive at brute force solutions, that is if you even arrive at the solution to begin with. This is because Javascript doesn't have support for a lot of data structures.

I hate python. Most of my learning time is spent heavily on Javascript, typescript and react. But I had to learn python just because of these annoying DSA questions.

internship will expose you to problems that are prevalent in the real world and the techniques to solve them. Nobody will sit you down as intern and be teaching you like a schoolkid, they would give you tasks, is your job to find how to tackle them and bring results. These technologies are there to solve problems. Building personal projects you are not actually solving real world problems for today's business, you are solving your own problems. Thats why freelancing is very good. Are you freelancing or volunteering?

Give me examples of these sorts of "real world" problems.

I wrote my first "Hello world" in September. I am still learning. I have not reached the level to freelance or apply for a job. Plus I am a ruthless self critic and will only consider myself ready when I can build or replicate any application I can think of using the technologies I have learned. That is why I am asking this question so I can know other areas to channel my learning.

I tried to copy the link to my solution but I didn't find it. It is my first time using the site. So I took a screenshot of my solution. As you can see, mine compiled in 1.006 seconds, while yours compiled in 1.77 secs. This was just an array of length 4. If it was an array of 1 million numbers, it would literally take hours for yours to compile because you are iterating over the numbers linearly and comparing them one by one, whereas my solution will take seconds.

If you doubt me, try increasing the array length and compare both our solutions.

Read another book on react...didn't finish it. The best book on react out there is the "The road to react"... Already finished it twice..but I still know nothing. Hopefully when I start building projects things will fall in place.

Still not finished the head first java. I had to stop when I gut to the GUI aspect. I guess I already know enough write some codes on DSA.

Any book on react that wasn't written at the end of last year would be very outdated by now. Reading books on frameworks is dumb in my opinion. You'd be stuck investing time in tools and methods that's are already deprecated. Just read the react documentation. It gets updated everyday and has everything you need.

Your solution is a brute Force O of n squared solution that has you iterating over every element in the array. What if you have 1 million numbers in the array? This will take hours to compute.

The faster solution would be something like this:

I'm using python here.

Create a function. I'll call it findTwoSum
say the array of numbers is defined as myNumbers
And our Target value is defined as target

Personally, I've also reached a level of proficiency in html, css, JavaScript, typescript and react. I've also learned complex state management with Redux(RTK), and I'm currently focused on building projects to add to my portfolio. I'm currently in my 4th month of learning. Everyday I make sure to add more knowledge to my reservoir as well as to better my skills. I devote a minimum of 12 hours daily learning to code.

During this period of learning, I've consumed courses, read documentation, practiced along on complex projects and studied other people's codes.

My question is, what exactly do the internships teach that I won't learn on my own, besides the experience of working with people?

Are the codes in companies different from all the codes I've seen? Is the logic behind the functionality of their apps more advanced than anything I've seen? Are they using a different typescript, react or redux different from the ones I've been learning. This is a serious question and I would appreciate answers.

I understand an internship can get your foot in the door and give you working experience but that's different from the question in asking.

FlexBox is so underrated. I used to underrate it initially and only use it in styling my navbar, until I understood how useful it can be.

I used to be a grid fangirl but now I have ported to FlexBox. It does literally everything grid does and it does it better and easier.

You're jumping too fast, you don't even know the basics of JS before jumping into Redux. JavaScript is not just syntax, but a lot of other API like DOM, and stuff.

Use a good book.

Not all Front-end jobs are about consuming API, you will be told to create UI Custom Components or debug some frameworks, these are things not taught on freecodecamp and the like.

There's a lot to know, Browser Paint Cycle, Prototype Inheritance,etc

Use a book o, I've worked with various companies and the only saving grace for me has been the Core JS foundation, every framework magic still resolves around JS, even React.

JSX is not supposed to be possible, but something parses it and constructs it into DOM via JavaScript.

JavaScript is massive, other than the syntax, there are a ton of APIs like WebGL, Audio, Video, Canvas, WebWorkers, Storage, Network, and HID the list is long and gets longer.

I work with Svelte for a Gas company in the US, and the code here is insane, we've built a lot of custom UI components draggable widgets, Canvas that renders Shape from an exported C++ Desktop app for Gas Diagrams.

Don't learn Redux, focus on JS first.

I usually don't tell people to read JS first because I know people want quick cash, but if you want to be a seasoned dev, learn JS well. There are 24 Chapters in this book.

Nothing stops you from reading a chapter a day or for 2 days.

I am writing a Shopify Theme and it's pure JavaScript with customElements, that is another API sef I didn't mention, you see how crazy JS is, it keeps expanding.

For just this API render, this will do. When you learn Redux(using the reduxToolkit library ), try and make use of Axios. It's way neater.
Also, try and use Eslint and style linters In your development environment. It will keep you In check for best practices.

Management with Redux will make your CV stand out amongst applicants.
